Minatumi Harbor was supposed to be one of the bustling regions of the earth. Even where magnolia stood with a hand raised to block the suns glare, she could easily see why. There was an overabundance of life that was rarely seen, even here on the outskirts. One might think it was due to it having prime real estate. Magnolia, however, knew better and could sense the energy that radiated in the air. There was a sense of ease with the aura that permeated the surrounding regions of this lively city, it was that feeling that piqued her interest.

Magnolia was a girl who was always very sensitive towards different types of energy, due to her perception of the world being different than most. Energy is the key ingredient in all of creation, ranging from the skies above to the tiniest of grains of dirt below. Due to this outlook, the golden-haired shinigami always has felt that she was in tune with the environment around her. When Magnolia closed her eyes she could sense far more than most. The world suddenly would be a myriad of sensations, of details, of life. It was for this reason that she found this unidentifiable energy so fascinating since within it was a different will superimposed over the typical natural order.

To the passerby, Magnolia looked like the stereotypical "pixie" with her thin dragon-patterned Qipao and her plain wooden geta. Currently, Magnolia's hair was also short done up in a pixie-like cut which was being ruffled by a faint breeze. Although her face was mostly hidden beneath her takuhatsugasa: a cone-shaped straw hat that she chose to wear.

"Raijin, what do you think?"Magnolia mentally asked her zanpakuto spirit.

"Hmm... I've never encountered a source of energy similar to this, it's very different from Qi, or Spiritual Energy. I'm admittedly impressed that this can reach as far as it does though, it makes me wonder who thought of such an intriguing practical application of energy. " Raijin was often full of either sarcasm or praise, thus magnolia arched a brow faintly at this rare form of praise that mentally sent to her via their communication.

It should be mentioned as Magnolia stood there on the periphery, amongst the weeds and rolling grassy marshes that preceded the city proper, that she actually released no spiritual energy. Instead, what she released was a very faint feeling of nature. Magnolia's aura was like a faint electric charge in the air, a byproduct of her unique Qi.

This "aura" made it so that she exuded a very faint sense of tranquility. She seemed as if she was a part of nature as if she belonged there on this dusty ruined pathway that went into the city. For practitioners, it would require someone well-versed in the sensing, and manipulation of Qi to identify her. Only those people could partially gauge the enormity of her strength. To anyone else Magnolia would seem mundane and a tad bit ethereal, like a passing cloud.

Admittedly, the takuhatsugasa's framing of her face would make the faint cherry-colored smile on her face all that more alluring as she glanced into the city. Magnolia wouldn't enter just yet though, instead of enjoying the scenery. After all, a scene as picturesque as this wasn't an everyday occurrence.

Wahahaha! It was, liberating, to ditch the Devil Bonds after being bonded by them for as long as she had been. It probably wasn't nearly as long as she thought it was, but that was the point. She thought it was, and mind makes reality, as they said. They, being her, right now. And then, something new came. A smell that wanted to be familiar but was not. Almost as it if was an...inverse of the regular scent. But, she couldn't designate if the person coming was helpful or not, and so she couldn't just let them roam around. Instead, she dropped from the skies, and with a twist, landed in front of the woman.

Who, it turned out,was Magnolia! The sexy girl from somewhere else that went to town on Sting's ass. Her electric powers and cool other stuff that stemmed from that or was just natural to her was awesome. Ulv couldn't help but gush as she saw the woman here again.
"Magnolia! It is so cool to see you! Do you want to come inside? We can make you some tea and we can talk about what you have been doing up to"

"She's... Spunky." Raijin responded with a dry chuckle.
"Enough, be cordial." Magnolia shot back through their mental connection.

Eventually, Magnolia would greet Ulv with a faint smile. It was rather spectacular since the rest of her face obscured from sight. She'd motion towards the city lightly, inclining her head slightly downwards in a nod.

"Lead the way then." She stated.

Afterward, Magnolia would follow Ulv into the city, studying the different sights, smells, and the atmosphere. The city was shrouded in an uplifting aura of hope. It was as visible as the blazing noon-day sun overhead in people of the town. Still, as one might guess, even in this day and age magnolia's attire roused curiosity from the inhabitants. Looking at her warring states era ruoni-style hat, her geta, and her traditional attire, she looked like an old samurai documentary.

"It seems like your choice in attire is outdated Magpie dearest." Raijin snidely remarked in a dry, playful tone to Magnolia.

"When have I ever cared about appearances? " Magnolia responded plainly through their mental bond.

What intrigued Magnolia the most though wasn't the city, it was the energy Ulv possessed. Magnolia found herself comparing her cultivation to Ulv's Martial Energy, looking for the differences between her energy and Ulv's energy. It was surprisingly similar and was something that Magnolia hadn't expected to find.

"Are you a Cultivator?" Magnolia asked after they had walked for a while in the crowded streets.

It was a soft remark, one that could be lost in the hustle and bustle around them. Hopefully, Ulv heard it because magnolia wouldn't ask again, continuing to walk alongside ulv in the crowd, her geta continuing to make faint clacking noises against the sidewalk below. To a third-party observer, it would be an interesting sight to behold: Magnolia in her feudal-era attire and Ulv with her more modern choice of dress walking side by side, chatting and conversing.

Ulv did indeed lead the way. With a cheerful hum and a great deal of self enthusiasm. From Ulv, it was clear that the dome around this place came from her, that the source of uplifting promise was all tethered to her. And she had a truly phenomenal aura to her, like someone had grabbed the very concept of Victory and stuffed it into a body. Every step was taken with such self-confidence that it seemed there was nothing in Reality that could halt it, short of physically overpowering the woman, and that would be quite a feat in itself.

But then, the step was indeed halted when Magnolia asked if Ulv was a cultivator. She froze midstep, and then spun around on one foot to face Magnolia, before putting her leg down, and cocking her head. There was something about her, very Cultivator-y, but something was messing with her senses.
"I....am. You, aren't quite a Shinigami. You've got the awesome transforming sword that you used to kick Sting's ass, but you aren't quite the same energy signature. So you have to come from the Black World, and...they have Cultivators there?" She asked, her head cocked to one side in askance.

"What do your senses tell you?"

Magnolia didn't affirm nor deny Ulv's statement. Rather, the naturality of her aura, the oneness with the realm around them. The detachment her energy had, the way it seemed to be lightning incarnate, she let this faint aura wrap around her. Under her hat her golden gaze studied Ulv, ascertaining if the girl was capable of understanding what she was.

Even though at this moment they were amongst a crowd, it would feel detached, as if they were looking through a window into the world outside. If it was just for a moment, it wasn't reishi that encapsulated her, it was the feeling of detachment that could be briefly felt earlier.

It was as if Ulv was looking at Magnolia, but at the same time as if there was this insurmountable distance between them. It didn't come from raw power. The easiest way to characterize it would be like there was a barrier between them, some kind of gateway that couldn't be broken through.

"What am I ulv~? "

Magnolia's question was plain, but there was a faint curve to the corner of her lips. She would continue to walk as she'd allow Ulv to ponder and think about it. The oppressive aura, the feeling of detachment faded as quickly as it came. It vanished, yet there still would remain a feeling of Oneness with nature around her. She didn't reveal her cultivating technique, nor did she reveal any sort of connection between her and what was traditionally thought of as a cultivator. Instead, she had merely let Ulv feel the profoundness of the Qi that lay within her.

Magnolia then would have sat down on a bench after walking a-ways, her legs crossed over one another as she waited for ulv to catch up with her.

"My senses?..." She thought, took in the power that Magnolia was letting off and deeply thought on it. The way it felt, the crackle and the feel of a master staring at a child's carving. The way it weaved a picture of brilliance and felt like there was such a gulf between them it would take her decades to bridge it. It all added up to only one thing. Carrying on the walk, Ulv looked up to Magnolia, with a face of amazement and awe. Her voice, was also filled with the same emotion, carrying with it a deep weight.

"It can't be. How, did you even manage that? To be...Barbecue sauce! With a hint of radish no less. That is truly a masterful thing to pull off. I didn't think such a condiment could even walk, let alone become a Shinigami. Unless it is crazy Black World Barbecue Sauce, but that would just screw over the whole understanding of metaphysics on a fundamental level" Ulv shook her head in amazement and just led Magnolia back to her house in silence. Treating the situation with the intense reverence that it deserved. Today, she had met Magnolia: The Condiment.

”....pfft” the sound of Raijins uproar of laughter dominated their mental connection.

Magnolia managed to refrain from commenting when she was called barbeque sauce with a hint of radish. First because she didn’t know what barbeque sauce was and secondly, because she didn’t know how to handle the response given to her.

Following Ulv to her house, the shinigami hadn’t deigned to answer her until they were seated within the confines of her house. Afterwards magnolia would respond faintly.

” even in my world people of my rank are abnormal. But it seems they are even more abnormal here. The inverse realm mirrors this one, so my question is— why is there only a faint presence of the martial world on this planet? “

Magnolia got straight to the heart of the matter as she clasped her hands together and allowed her chin to rest against her pale knuckles, her golden eyes focusing on Ulv as she would let those words sink in, before she sighed faintly and she had pulled out a plum wine, which she would take a sip of.

” I’m sure that’s not the only question you are itching to ask though. “ magnolia said faintly.

” magpie, what are you thinking about? Rajin asked curiously.

” I’m thinking it’s a shame that the martial world in this reality has crumbled so extensively. Magnolia responded through their bond.

Eventually, Magnolia would pour Ulv a drink as well, her eyes studying the interior of Ulvs house with a bland interest. If one didn’t know better, they most likely wouldn’t say this was the house of a cultivator. It instead looked like the house of a civilian.

Still, magnolia would enjoy the simplicity of its design as she waited to hear about the martial world of this dimension. She wanted to know how extensively martial practitioners were integrated into this era, and how powerful they actually were.

Walking back to her house, she took the drink from Magnolia and leaned back, deciding how best to explain why Wulin was so broken right now. It took her a few minutes, in which she simply sipped the drink silently in thought, but eventually she was able to come to a satisfactory conclusion.
"Mmm, I gathered that you were quite highly placed. One can't change Cultivation too much without it simply not being Culitvation anymore. But I had no frame of reference, so backing your achivements on the scale of our world is a foolish endeavour indeed. Your Cultivation Resources and our Cultivation Resources might be different, might interact differently, such that you can not use ours. Or maybe ours are more potent to you, it's not anything anyone can say without extensive research.

As for why we are one underground city and one sparsely populated city is...The supporting structure was lost and every warlord had their own plans. And then War. Three massive wars engulfing the entire world, the third of which wiped out about 40% of the population. And then after the War, there was still roaming gangs of Hollows after the survivors. Humans haven't had it well, and Cultivators are humans. Who knows the heights they could have reached if everything stayed intact, - The Nine Mountain Thrones would be horrifying monsters of the Wulin world today if everything was intact - but unfortunately humans are greedy selfish vane self-centered beings. There is a very strong community feel to modern Wulin, almost as if to avoid such a collapse again. And Wulin is doing well, but not very well"

"It saddens me to hear this." Magnolia said somberly.

The world of Wulin, something that she was intimately familiar with in her own homeworld was still in its golden era. Mighty sects spanned 10000Li, Practitioners flocked about the world like stars in the sky. It was the era of might, where all the realms had practitioners that followed the Dao, wishing to traverse the realm into eternity. Old monsters that had lived for well over 10,000 years lurked in the shadows, the hearts of the hegemons of her world.

The mighty clans still stood like pillars, propping up the sky of the martial way, Earth was merely a backwater cultivators realm in Wulin however in Magnolia's society, There was a handful of mighty cultivators that lived within its boundaries, keeping its people safe. There were some beings that Cultivated deep within demon world as well, Ancient monsters that had lived countless Era fascinated by the way of the Dao.

The Nine thrones hadn't fallen, and they were beings of supreme power. As Magnolia looked at Ulv her lips parted and she decided she would tell her a bit of the world in which she comes from.

"Where I live, is a land much different than this one. Wulin as you know it is in a period of revitalization. The Ancient Era, full of gods and demons has long since passed, but mighty beings still lurk within the hearts of their sects, waiting for the time to vie for dominance once more.

Earth... from what I know of it is better off than here to some degree. There are mighty beings in earth, however, the vast majority of them lay within what is considered here as the Seireitei. With its infinite borders, it holds the cradle in which all Wulin resides. Sects that are known as hegemons span over 10,000Li. their vast reaches contain within them empires and countries, and experts are as numerous as the clouds. "

Magnolia paused, allowing herself a sip of the alchoholic beverage she had poured for herself, savoring the rich taste and aroma before she paused and looked towards Ulv once more, and she exhaled faintly and said.

"Maybe it's fate, me deciding to come here. I do not know how much help I might be, but opening the path for future practitioners, to revitalize the grand martial Dao for this realm of reality, Wouldn't be a horrible thing to do."

Ulv listened, and heard that her world hadn't suffered such massive wars. Or that Wulin was stationed somewhere else and hadn't had the brunt of such wars inflicted on their population. To listen to her, it sounded amazing. Sects covering such immense distance, that they could fill Zian-Zi to the edges and use every inch of space. Seeing that would be a marvel, considering the had a small town in the centre and that was it. But, at the same time, there wasn't much she could do.

"Mmm, it does sound interesting. But unless you can pull a billion people out of your hat, there isn't much we can do for Wulin. It lacks not in profound techniques or solid foundations, but in people. They are recovering, but it will be a long time before there are enough people to make that recovery enough to ever need more than 1/100th of Zian-Zi's production capabilities" She then, paused and thought for a moment. There was, a crazy but interesting idea she just had.

"What if...people of lesser talent in you world came to ours? Your world is miles above our own so to saturate our Wulin with anyone from you would probably just lead to me killing them. Which is not very good for business. But, if those who felt their destiny was simply to be a servant till they died because their lack of power or talent, then they could come here. We would get the people we so needed to revitalise Wulin, and they would be able to make something of themselves here in this lesser world. And if we managed to get everything back on it's feet, get the Vaults Of Slumber back up and running, then we could probably get our Wulin to the level of yours"
