Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event] - Page 2 Empty Re: Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event]

That is... most intelligent... his thoughts must be guided by our Goddess... wonderful, she may work in mysterious ways,but... Sunshine lightly shook his head, keeping in the back of his head what was currently happening, feeling how his special energy moved into the demons. Yes, that's good... I wonder, I wonder...

A thought shot out of Sunshine's mind, and immediately, the demon horde that had emerged at his call began to also change their tactics. Rather than recklessly assailing their opponents or going for the kill... they became much more sloppy. Limbs were hacked off instead of heads; bodies were rent and torn and left in their wake. When someone tried to rise again, to retaliate for their half-fallen comrades... they were eviscerated brutally.

A reputation that would grow as this fight on. Sunshine was curious if the creature emitting such attacks like the one that blew away the plants would understand what was happening. He seems to have much more adaptive control over what's being used against him... if he does not adopt this strategy, I'll take it as a sign... and change accordingly... but... until then~
Sunshine's body began to glow slightly where he stood in the air. Those with their limbs lopped, their bodies weak and useless, abandoned among the pain and the carnage before their comrades... the concentration of Despair across the battlefield increased dramatically. And for Sunshine, that was a well, made for him to eat his fill.

Seems she's coming at me... and also seems that she doesn't enjoy her opponents having hearing. She'll likely come for my other senses as well, hmm...? But... by the glory of our Goddess.. Sunshine's face contorted, even as his ears bled. The senses are my domain. Among the rampaging demons, several wore headgear... and thanks to Sunshine's peculiar abilities, he could effortlessly touch into their senses. It was not quite the same... but it was leagues better than the muffled ringing of his own ears. Now he could just relax and enjoy the pain in his head...

No. No, no. No, no, no. Sunshine's eyes twitched, his head moving back and forth, his eyes finally shifting and changing as they met the girl's... His breathing was slow, calm... meditative. Her words flowed over him like the spiritual pressure that was constantly smashing into his body, demanding his attention.

Our Goddess, please... I beg of you... grant me your power... that deep, unfathomable power... Sunshine's prayer was entirely necessary. He did not reply with a word to Sofia, standing there with his hands clasped. After all... this was the best way that Sunshine knew to get his abilities to work. "And forgive her in her infinite mercy... after all, what mortal could ever hope to understand the Designs of a God...?" Sunshine's eyes began to open once again... looking directly at her as her blade descended...

And as it did, Sunshine's body contorted. The smile was plain and calm on his face as his freshly regenerated arm created an actual blade, slipping hers away from his body, smoothly parrying against But that was not what she should have been focusing on...

After all, Sunshine's hair attacked her in the same moment. As her blade crashed into his body, he dug in his heels, feeling the pressure against the ground, his hair moving into her as if alive. A parry and an attack combined into one. Strands of it had twisted together, each going directly for her head from a multitude of intercepting angles. There were seven of them in total, each attacking simultaneously from a different direction. Within each and every one of them, there was a very peculiar... item.

The Flesh Bud.

If any made contact, an amazingly powerful stabbing pain would echo through Sofia's head for a moment, before fading completely, replaced with a much more benign sensation. Almost like absolutely nothing had happened. If she physically inspected the spot, she would find what felt like a welt and nothing more...

Now, if her defenses were centralized around her head... she would see something quite different. A writhing, wriggling flesh-colored creature would fall off of her head, several skin covered tentacles flailing and reaching around.

As distracting as it was, it was not the only thing. While his body was being thrown back, while his blade blocked, while his hair attacked... at the same time... Sunshine's hand simply... reached out to her skin, his hand extending up to five feet as a pink glow possessed it. The question would be if it made contact; unless her body could contort and stretch like his, it was unlikely she would be able to prevent his open hand from touching her. The more it touched, the more it would be affected, the pink haze moving into her skin. Once inside, the energy would stimulate processes within the flesh... sending rather distracting pleasant sensations into her head.

Sunshine felt his body moving, shifting... and suddenly, pain. Great pain in his side. The second sword had not been blocked; it had passed through his blade, through his body. A burning sensation roared through his skin, eliciting a cry of pain from the man as his torso tore. His body had been moved back somewhat, leaning to the side and resulting in his ribs being ripped into and burned. Pain surged into his mind, the blade passing cleanly through, leaving a hole in his side.

And then... hands. Grabbing, tugging. They were still in a battleground, after all. Upon seeing the threat to Sunshine, the demons shifted, moving. His demons had rose to the occasion, blocking the peculiar dog-shaped energy attacks with their own bodies. They did not hesitate one bit as they died, bits and pieces of their bodies rent and thrown asunder, driving pain shooting through Sunshine's body as they disconnected from his will. Thank you... thank you all... I'll make sure they learn... why, aaah... why your sacrifice was necessary...

The ones that remained were now running at Sofia as she attacked... Running at her, trying to stop her... Moving... just like Sunshine's body, as he was knocked away by the first attack. He had been more than willing to take another blow from the green weapon; as annoying as the Quincy were to deal with, his body manipulation was also nothing to sniff at. Twitching, feeling the blood dripping off of his body, he kicked away, trying to get some distance, trying to retreat from the woman.

Then, his senses erupted. A deafening explosion poured over the man's body, sending him flying and rolling even further away. Burns covered his skin, pain flooding through his mind. Quite a number of his horde were damaged by the blast... and yet... they did not cry. They did not scream. They breathed... they all breathed.

Just as her soldiers they had dragged into her explosion had.

Grabbing and pulling hands and grips, the unslain that Sunshine's forces had been battling earlier. They were bleeding out, bodies rent asunder by their leader. "Oh, Khala... please forgive her..." Sunshine's voice whispered, wondering how cruel she could be to use such a devastating attack in the midst of her own forces.

I've had just about enough of her, though...

Sunshine's body was already reforming the leg he had lost in the explosion. It hurt, it hurt all over his body. His blood was pounding in his ears, feeling the stamina it took to reform himself draining a bit from her attack. It was more than just an inconvenience... the amount of his body that had been damaged would require some degree of energy.

But I can take so much more punishment... let's see if she's the same..... Sunshine's body began to stand... his eyes looking dead ahead.

So much more calm than before. Sofia's troops charged at him, seeing him standing once again. But the pressure that had possessed his body was gone. Time to show this heathen the glory... the glory...! Sunshine's entire body shook, feeling the connection to Za Koa growing. It was growing much more than usual; Sunshine could feel that his prayer had been received, had been answered...

Around Sunshine's body, a peculiar effect took place. Sofia would definitely be able to feel it; a terrible power, welling itself up to the surface. More... More.... MORE! The preacher shouted inside of his own head, the purple miasma that flowed outwards from his body wrapping into her troops.

Sofia's flowing power was crushed and pushed aside. Sunshine's body was shifting and changing, his hair lengthening, his chest expanding slightly, his features becoming more... feminine. Behind his body, a most peculiar presence was forming. It was several dozen feet tall, a monstrosity that was contributing to Sunshine's power.

Yawgmoth.

Sunshine did not like having to compete for attention. He despised it. He despised it with every fiber of his being. Right now, that's what she was doing to him. Men fell back, their hands clawing at their faces, some merely crawling and forming themselves into a ball, others openly weeping.

Meanwhile, Sunshine's swirling eyes continued to examine Sofia.

Information was flowing into his mind as he studied her, Yawgmoth's radiating power clashing directly against hers, emerging with more and more force as Sunshine released his presence across the battlefield. A friend... not as much of... something... as she'd like... Sunshine's mind raced, consuming the information as he began stepping forwards. Soldiers would likely become concerned at the state of their comrades caught in that purple haze, maybe even panicking and breaking ranks. And another... aaah.. much pain, much sadness... something lost... but again... so much hope to change it...

Sunshine then found one other thing within his Despair Vision. Oh...? ...Boredom. That was something that he thought he could definitely deal with. One of his hands raised, the force of energy he had been producing centralizing within it. Looking directly at her, Sunshine placed the massive wave of energy in front of his body. It was apparent that a humongous amount of energy was about to discharge, the purple sphere snug on Sunshine's palm.

"How long will you lie to yourself and say those you ally with and follow do anything but drag at your head...?" His words echoed across the battlefield... before being followed by the tremendous blast. Energy ripped and tore into Sofia's waves, throbbing and shoving them out of the way as the gigantic blast erupted on top of where she was standing.

The ensuing explosion would throw dust and debris everywhere, leaving Sunshine standing there. Such a large attack, and yet he seemed unfazed. The force of the aura surrounding him was continuing to surge and grow.. crushing harder and harder against her influence across this battlefield.

"After all... if everyone would just live like you know best, they'd be so much happier... wouldn't they? Ahahahahahahahahahahaha..."

Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event] - Page 2 Empty Re: Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event]

The Melody

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

The battle was finally coming to what it was perhaps its very first climax. Ghislain had dealt a decisive and probably lethal blow to one of their enemies. The Demon that had commanded so many forces and remained quiet for so long, also seemed to do nothing now either. It was difficult to figure out why that was, but Sofia eventually came out with a reason or two. Perhaps the combined energies of Sofia and Ghislain were far too much, and he froze frightened like a little b-”Wow, dam!” Ghislain had delivered an astounding and overwhelming onslaught of attacks onto the Demon commander. He had fired a shot of dark matter from his gun and the opponent had made no motion or intent to dodge or block it. If that wasn’t enough an overwhelming gravitational force was hammered down into him. It was likely enough to flatten rock so the effects on the opponent would have been dire. To add insult to injury, the Quincy had used his superior speed to position himself behind the commander and unleash nearly a thousand powerful shots point blank from behind the commander. Their power differential was already quite large; was it continental? Perhaps, though the amount of damage no longer was a concern. There was little doubt the Commander was taken out of commission and his body most certainly destroyed. After all, Sofia had better chances to one shot kill Mana with a bitchslap.

The actions essentially meant that the battle was once again on the Quincy’s favor if it ever wasn’t. Unfortunately, Sunshine was a lot stronger than his level of energy seemed to suggest. The abilities he had demonstrated so far indicated someone she needed to be wary of or suffer the consequences. In some way or another, her enemy seemed to be able to hear just fine even though she saw the blood trickling down his ears moments earlier. There was likely some form of magic at play. Nonetheless, he had to contend with several layers of powerful attacks to some degree or another. For starters, her Rona blade did dig in and cut against his skin. The green selee blade that had gone behind him also managed to slice from behind, though its purpose was changed at the very last minute. After all, Sunshine had fired off a few of his hairs, possibly to impale the girl. Judging by the way he had demonstrated he enjoyed his attacks, she had to assume it wasn’t ordinary; as ordinary as an extending hair attack could be. She had to assume there was something else with it, and that she should try by all means to deal with it.

Although The Rona blade did in fact cut into him, the secondary blade was flicked quick enough to deal with some, though not all of the extending hairs. After all, not only was it fast, but the seele had a peculiar module installed that allowed for the extension or contraction of the blade at her whims. However, while some of the hairs were dealt with, a few of them were not. Swinging her Rona blade backwards would not allow it to meet them in time to matter. And while her green napalm-like wave was menacing, it was more meant to target Sunshine and his men. In the heat and quickness of the moment she had to react as she best saw fit, even if it didn’t really guarantee any real safe passage for her. Sofia used the Melody to try and destabilize, not stop or block, but rather try and push the remaining strands away from her face. Despite her skills, the speed and momentum the strands carried could not be easily ignored. Had it not been due to the fog she had applied increasing the speed and the power of her energy attacks, she wouldn’t have been able to effect it as she did. Still, a single strand was left and met with the reflex that was her Blut. The strand bounced off her, like a rain on a porcelain surface, but there was more to it. Her skin looked pristine and untouched, but an echoed was heard on her mind.

[What? No, I probably just heard that. Little did she know that from now on, not only would she had to contend with Sunshine’s bickering in the field, but in her mind too. Thanks to her efforts however, talking and annoying her was the only effect that would persist for a while longer in her mind.

On the other hand, the green wave did seem to catch up with Sunshine creating burns she didn’t take the time to enjoy. If it manage to get him, it was quite likely that many of his men had suffered a fate far worse. It was then that Sofia felt an energy that made her recoil and jump back as far as she could. She had trained with Ghislain quite a bit in preparation for the war. The two had honed their skills and synchronized most of their attacks. He could understand the reishi make up of her advances just as she could more or less his. To her surprise, the demons acted as pawns, delivering their body as offering to the wolves and exploding along with them to their death. What sort of faith had such little regard for life, pitiful. At the very least, the combination of the explosive wolves and the shots Ghislain had fired seemed to further add injury onto Sunshine...and that did it.

Typically people could only last so long until they lost their cool. You could only get hit so much until you flipped out. It didn’t take a Demon to understand that whatever change Sunshine was going through was not normal, and it was certainly dangerous. The feminine appearance, the longer hair, and the tall figure from behind indicated that they needed to be wary. Of far more importance was the powerful sphere of energy that was created and subsequently fired at her; its power was unreal. Still, Sunshine had to learn that gods were not real. In terms of power, people attributed a large enough difference in skill or power as something godly to be worshipped but they were wrong.

Right before Sofia, a large Quincy pentacle much larger than her body was created. It seemed to attract and suck the entirety of the attack as was its intention. The incoming attack was powerful, even more so with the help of za koa. At the same time, not only was Sofia’s design for such a situation, but the power and the speed of delivery of her reishi abilities were still being bolstered by the fog she had presented earlier. The attack would be flown in as if it was a funnel. At the other end of the field, at the same time, a similarly looking pentacle would appear on the sky. It pointed down to both Sunshine and his troops, and fired down his attack on and against them. Something of importance that perhaps only Sofia and Ghislain could notice was the fact that after passing through her pentacles, the attack itself was embedded and surrounded by her energy. This meant that Ghislain could likely understand it and apply his own reishi to any effect. Beyond that, the attack was meant to simultaneously crash against her foes, and wash up against them. It was meant to level the ground and disintegrate plenty of the Demon pawns. For sure it was meant to deliver an extremely powerful and near deadly injury to her opponent, though she was curious how much of it he could try and shrug off.

”Your delusion will be your own doing. Give up now, surrender, and perhaps the Alliance will offer you a fair trial before we hunt down your false god.”

The biggest mistake her opponent had made was not his choice of attacks or his choice of defense. In fact, his biggest mistake wasn’t truly his fault to begin with. The biggest mistake was being placed in a battle against them, and he was about to learn why. Without wasting more time on words, a bright holy light seemed to glow and echo behind Sofia. From above her, behind, and all around her, twenty large Quincy blades appeared and shot out and away from her. They were meant to travel and be directed towards whatever remained of Sunshine, wherever he was located. Despite its actual purpose, the technique looked as though it was trying to impale her enemy. She could only hope Ghislain was taking this opportunity to capitalize on his opportunities to further end their very last meaningful opponent. At the very last moment, Sofia thought she heard a whisper on her head, but maybe it was just her imagination.

ENTER THE DEPTHS

Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: 1901

His eyes narrowed at the power up before smirking a bit at the creature. It had seemed to of made an attempted power up as a last-ditch measure. But it was far too late for such trickery. Ghislain had already marked it with the energy shots he'd released from his pistol. A rather special brand of dark matter had been used in those bullets. They would have been interesting to try and see had he avoided them. But he didn't hold a chance now as he'd simply stepped on the doomsday button. Ghislain had brought Ginto with him for the purpose of supplementing his already potent offense. But one in mind could only be used here for this occasion. Wouldn't work on the Sunshine guy that well. Ghislain reached out connecting his energy to the demon's restraining it for a moment. White and black roots began wrapping around the creature. Crushing it as radiant light poured out around the area. Ghislain's orbs changed as slowly these roots emerged from the ground. Attacking demons and going for Sunshine as well. "Yggdrasil." He said softly before releasing his pistols now for another purpose.

Now it was time to focus on the next issue at hand. This place was going to require cleansing of this demonic taint. Ghislain could think of one way to perform this feat in his own mind. Those branches were purity and would destroy and constrict those who defiled. Those whose blood wasn't pure or lacked a pure heart. Ghislain glanced taking in his circle's range and growth. Ghislain had used a bit of his energy the Quincy needed to prove value here. So he defeated one enemy who'd misunderstood his attack. Those branches would continue emerging for a moment. Those who were tagged by the bullets light attacks. Would later realize their folly in underestimating him. As they were homing missiles basically now for that tree to search and restraint. Ghislain glanced around him as he looked over the area taking in Sofia's mist. It was about time to use that he guessed the pattern was drawn.

"Sofia, keep them busy and away from me for a second...This next Ginto will be..quite the show."
Ghislain said giving her the message to her brain only. This Ginto required a mantra in order for him to use. He softly brought his hands together almost like he was praying. A blast of energy went outwards now as Ghislain began to prepare for one of his larger attacks. This was likely going to be a single time use here due to it's a range of effect. Demons and their filthy death energy had defiled this place long enough. The matter was life and his power did indeed embody that subject. As he began to pray out loud hoping he would finish it in time. "I am the blade guided by the dawn, I bring fury and valor before sunset. I bring with me blessed righteousness fervent and strong. My shield will protect all who come beneath it. I am both the shield and sword of the light. I shall not waver before the darkness. I am Truth, I am righteousness before the light of day. "A glowing bright energy began to come from the ground and Ghislain. Mimicking his energy as it's colors of white and black flowed around.

"As dawn breaks, my scabbard is released and the day leaks from it's shell. Darkness weeps and retreats before the early light we consecrate this land in blessed LIGHT, Amen."
This chant was long and if he'd been stopped it would mean starting over entirely. If Sofia had bought him time the chant's completed version would do something impressive. The ground around the circle would fire outwards as he released the ginto from his hand on to the ground. Activating a massive circle that expanded and brought a holy light into the air. Demons caught in it would begin to burn unless they retreated. The energy would purify them and those with evil intentions. Coming into this zone would be difficult as it expanded over the area. It would continue till it engulfed the entire battlefield as Ghislain put a huge amount of power into this.

Darkness couldn't survive in this light was the point. Prolonged exposure would cause damage to those within. Ghislain exhaled long labored breathing as he turned his attention towards Sunshine now. He couldn't maintain this circle for long so they needed to conclude business quickly. This holy power would increase the strength of Quincy. It would allow Quincy to fight stronger as Ghislain brought a hand up. Looking at the figure of Sunshine more closely. This was going to need to conclude a lot faster then he hoped. But he and Sofia couldn't remain here forever. He didn't know what her plan was, but he had an idea for something. Life is a belief and struggle before it all. Ghislain had used a rather tremendous spell and the effects would be very difficult. For demons and those, he saw as his enemies before him. It would be like standing before a baptizing glare of light. Ghislain had channeled this and found his answer for what they were. They are light and they were meant to be the ones before the demonic side. He and Sofia needed to push and hard. But he suspected a fallout would come from another place.

K-World troubled him as they'd not made a move yet. They'd remained very much silent at the moment. Without showing any signs of retaliation or another effect. Sing Iramasha did trouble him. So did those in that place. But for now, the current creatures before him required attention.

Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event] - Page 2 Empty Re: Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event]

Tue Mar 26, 2019 9:01 pm

That is… unfortunate. Sunshine thought to himself, one lip biting into itself as the demon commander took the blow. Things seemed to be going from bad to worse; that individual simply could not deal with their enemies. …Already I was prepared to fight the two of them together… But ultimately… What could I do…? Is that truly the best way to proceed…? The Marshmallow-haired man wondered to himself, his body moving about as he navigated this high stakes battlefield.

Ah… yes… Sunshine thought to himself as he was blown away, processing what had happened during their instant speed conflict. She had taken a single blow; he had felt the Flesh Bud connect with her skin. It had not managed to penetrate very far; but he could feel the presence of her mind, ever so slightly. The first sensation that passed over her was… disregard. Oh my… do you not understand…? They give themselves to keep what they believe alive… They give every bit of themselves over to it… can you say you have ever done the same? There was genuine distraught within the voice in her mind; it was weak, it was small… but it spoke with force.. As much as it could muster. With conviction.

He observed as his attack sailed towards his target… and he watched as it returned to him once again. "Now that… is rude." He told her bluntly, his hands reaching around to his shoulders as he grimaced slightly. The power granted by his faith being used against him. This is getting so tiresome… The Demon thought to himself, contemplating how much of a pissing match this was turning into.

One of Sunshine's hands slid into his pocket, his eyes looking directly at the incoming attack. The wind pressure around him was growing substantially… and as it did so, the most peculiar blue spirit appeared behind him. Kenzan had emerged to protect its Wielder, its fists clenched.

Sunshine's mind raced. He was rapidly trying to figure out what to do, how he should react to the incoming attack. Death… please, I call upon you once again. The thoughts poured through Sunshine's mind, as time once again resumed. Before Sunshine's body, an incredible white light began to shine, his immediate surroundings filled with the sense of Death's Energy. Sunshine looked directly at the incoming energy attack, holding his arms out to either side, smiling directly into the malicious force.

You are the only one here afraid. The only one uncertain. You do realize that, don't you? The voice asked within Sofia's mind, as those with extraordinary senses would be able to detect what was happening.

The incoming waves of energy was met with Death-Energy infused fists from the man behind Sunshine's body. He had the most relaxed expression on his face as blow after blow crashed against the incoming energy attack, creating a wave of physical force that repeatedly smashed against the wave of power, knocking it further and further away from Sunshine's body… and finally, the wave of raw power smashed against him.

Once again, Sunshine's body was rocked by a wave of raw force. Unlike before, however, the number of attacks against a force that was originally Sunshine's caused for it to destabilize, navigating away from his body and causing it to essentially implode on itself in multiple directions. The ensuing explosion covered the battlefield with energy, blood, and smoke…

Out of which Sunshine emerged, his speed quite different than before. His eyes were actually focused now, and as he emerged out of the smoke… for the smallest amount of time possible, his body seemed to stop completely. For Sunshine, time was frozen. His eyes were wide, locking on to each incoming Quincy blade. He could feel the still sweat on the back of his neck, doing everything he could to track the incoming blades. Within his mind, he could feel Yawgmoth and Nyahmurrah each attempting to assist him, preparing to emit loud signals if he were to miss one.

Just like that, time resumed.

For most likely every single other enemy on this battlefield, nothing had appeared to change. But what Sofia witnessed next would likely shock her. Sunshine's arms whipped into the air, accompanied by the being behind him. The four sets of arms snatched the blades out of the air, gripping them only for a moment as they were overwhelmed with Death Energy, shattering them with Sunshine's Death's Force. Cracked and unstable, he flicked them with his wrist as he vanished, the sound of Shunpo after Shunpo lost in the chaos of battle as they landed among the Quincy's soldiers, erupting in volatile explosions that would most likely obliterate the weapons.

Once, Sunshine missed; the eighteenth blade slid along his forearm, making him even more determined as his body shifted to the last sword, gripping it out of the air. "AAAAAAAH! HAHAHAHA!" He roared at Sofia, an absolutely manic expression on his face as his blood burned and boiled in his ears. So many dead. So much lost. And now it was only himself and her; and if she was not the least bit put off by the appearance before her… there truly was nothing Sunshine could do to unsettle this woman.

Just as rapidly as he had begun this intense assault… it stopped. His body froze completely. His gaze turned back to look over at the other side of the battlefield… where the Demon Commander lay impaled, Ghislain completing some form of… prayer. …No. Sunshine stood there stunned for a moment, his mouth opening as the sword he had captured lowered in his hand.

"You… DARE…?" He asked Ghislain, his body shifting and changing once again as he looked at the incoming Holy Light.

"Ban… Kai."

The single word echoed for Sunshine's lips only for an instant as he vanished one single time, the main bastion of the demon forces between himself and the incoming spell. This is NOT The will of GOD! Sunshine screamed within his mind, both hands thrusting out as Unholy Energy poured from his hands.

It was unfortunate that Ghislain had chosen Holy Energy of all things to attack with. After all, that was what Sunshine's Bankai was the most effective against. The man's hair had turned a golden color, his muscles substantially larger. But what was far more important was the cursed influence pouring out of his hands; that of a fallen angel. He could feel his muscles straining, his body being thrust and shoved back further and further.

"AAAAAAAAH!" He let out at last, throwing his hands into the ground and expanding the shield of influence he had created considerably. The spell had been damaged, at least to some extent. It was unlikely that Sunshine had been able to dispel the entire thing so quickly… but the amount of Unholy influence that had been unexpectedly thrust at the spell would certainly be felt, possibly enough to break its composition and prevent its further spread, making it difficult to maintain longer.

"Ah… Ha… Ha…"

Sunshine's body fell, his head bowed halfway to the ground. "Demon Forces are routed. Fall. Back." The most chilling expression ran from his form as he turned back to face the demon forces… and an overwhelming sense of Despair rocked through their ranks. Combined with the loss of their leader, they scrambled, escaping and beginning to retreat away from this battlefield as Sunshine directed his focus back on his opponents.

The weapon he had stolen had shattered in his furious explosion of energy, leaving one of his hands considerably damaged. Not to mention how he was still bleeding from having his earlier attack reversed on him. "…Well." He stated, his body beginning to shift and contort as he forced himself back on his feet.

His followers had been devastated. But they had made a considerable dent in the oncoming forces. Sunshine was able to only roughly estimate based on the pressure that their forces gave off compared to when he had arrived… but he would be willing to guess that about a third of them had fallen from his group's various efforts. At least half of the demons that had come to battle them were retreating. Sunshine's forces were either still flailing about, falling to their deaths, or had already been slain. …Utter insanity. I could have been fine by myself… but… well… If there is a chance it could serve my purposes better… Sunshine turned to the few demons who had managed to resist his despair curse; those who had truly thirsted for battle.

"Let it be known; I am going to become a prisoner of war. I do this for you, and for your brethren. I do not want to see those who have not pledged themselves to Our Goddess to lose their lives trying to defend one of Her Children. Please, escape! Live to grow and learn another day!"

They seemed to understand; between his Bankai's persuasiveness and everything else, they dispersed from the battlefield. Sunshine did not know how well they would take his message, but he had spoken every word with conviction. So it was that he turned back to Sofia, Ghislain, and their remaining forces. Sunshine's body, standing there… would begin to have yet another effect on those who observed it. Confusion would begin to spread within the ranks of their troops once again… until Sunshine simply held up both hands.

"Very well. I Submit. On the terms that those who are routed are not slaughtered. I will cease my struggling, and you will suffer no further losses to your men. I believe you can agree with that…" Sunshine explained, his expression downcast… clearly understanding that he was yielding to their power, and obviously not very happy about it. But he also understood that sacrificing himself like this would seem valuable enough to take his proposal; they would be able to advance, and the legend of their battle would spread far, affecting future conflicts.

The only question now was… what would happen to the Archbishop during his imprisonment?

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
