The Anti-social (Ame) - Page 2 Empty Re: The Anti-social (Ame)

Amon choked down a slew of cusswords, his blood felt like it was boiling no matter how much he tried to calm down and the white flame still burnt brightly through his being. He composed himself, again, and took in a inhale of air and exhale slowly. It had been some time since Amon felt this way toward anything really, the most tragic moments of his life fueled his hatred and his anger. In truth those moments were what also fueled his fears. They were what instilled that underlying sense of terror in Amon and was what kept him from making friends let alone actually socializing.

"My blade...." Amon said slowly biting down every other thought to focus more on his words, "... Is my extension... It is my... Fury and my will. It is my untempered and unrelenting wrath, my own flames burning brightly, it is the extension of my all."

Though his words were slow, he made it feel real, Amon said it to cement these feelings into his weapon. His extension as he said. No longer did the blade feel like an object, his energy manifested into it and the Asauchi became himself in some way as his energy engulfed the weapon. There was no concern, only focus. And then the question struck Amon like a bear trap to a penis. It was more personal than anything, and while he had multiple fears that seemed petty some were more prevalent. Those few were what extended from all the hurt and the trauma, the inward dismay he possessed no matter how much happiness he felt.

"Not being enough." Amon said carefully. It was one of the few he had, and while he didn't fear death even in life Amon's we're what he felt. Not being wanted. Being completely powerless. Trust in others. And not being enough. These were what held him back, and he didn't have a lifetime to figure it out but instead an eternity. Anytime he started to get along with someone Amon closed them out and even avoided them. Hell, he hasn't even had a good conversation with anyone since he was in highschool, he hadn't cried or even let loose his feelings since his parents-

Hanako nodded, pleased with Amon's answer. It was what she had hoped. Of course his words were coloured by his own personality, his own experiences. Of this he certainly had more than Hanako had, when she was in his place and Magnolia her sensei. But in essence it was what she had thought he had meant. It confirmed that the acceptance of his weapon was there.

"In short: a part of you." She summarised his words.

Then she did something surprising. She raised her Katana with one hand, so that it pointed directly at Amon's face and began walking towards him.

"Our weapons are a part of us. Not only metaphorically, but literally. Everyone knows that textbook definition, you can find it in every public library. But you will experience it for yourself. Soon. You already know it. You just need to start to listen."

Hanako began exuding spiritual pressure as she slowly walked pace after pace. The air around her began to flicker as the energy began distorting it.

"That is why I asked about your greatest fear. I was asked that same question, too. It all comes down to the question 'what if'. It fills your mind to the brim, leaves little space for anything else. I'll tell you about my fear someday, if you like."

There was a certain light in her eyes, a hardness in her face. His answer had actually touched something inside her, touched the very nature of her own fear. She really could see herself in him.

"But before I've got yet another question: What if you're confronted by your fear? What if you find out you're not enough? Do you run? Or do you fight?

LIVE, BAKUMUSHA!"

Her spiritual pressure erupted in a glistening aura around her. Within the blink of an eye the sleeve of armour on her left arm appeared and her Katana transformed into the huge weapon, seemingly made from tightly entangled roots.

The excessive emission of spiritual pressure wasn't necessary, all it did at this moment was putting up a light show. Also, even if she released her sword, her words still stood that she didn't like to use it against friends. She only hoped Amon wouldn't remember. What she was doing now was trying to push Amon. Confront him with his fear. See his reaction and make him see his reaction. She had to do it and it opened the door for her to go far beyond what she had been. It was all a show and she'd rather stop and try another approach, than seriously harm a member of her division.

However, Amon didn't know that…

With full speed she jumped towards Amon, the giant sword, almost as long as Hanako was tall, already swinging. When it came down the steel edge, protruding from between the roots, caught the light in a cold, hard shimmer. With a loud crashing noise the sword came down and hacked into the ground, only inches away from Amon. Debris and dust was everywhere. In the midst of it a face, with eyes as bright and as cold as centuries old ice, staring directly into Amon's own eyes.

He only knew what Hanako was taking about. He felt that feeling for many years, everyone left Amon and he had been alone, fighting alone, living to his own devices with that mere question; "What of I'm not enough?" He always considered joining the military but never really sought it out, instead living a day to day basis getting into bar fights and just living little by little. By and large Amon did not know what he was capable of, he had blacked out that fatal night against the punks and only snapped out of his mania when he was shot.

Amon didn't know what Hanako was doing until he heard the very words, "Live Bakumusha!" Fuck, he thought, readying himself for a hell of a match. Except, it would be some "match and instead he could feel the sheer pressure from the woman before him. The immense power, and intensity of the flare she had, Amon felt overwhelmed by all of it. And the question rang in his head, "The hell am I supposed to do?!"

Hanako launched herself against Amon in a sudden burst, she was too fast and all he could do was block the attack. However the attack landed several inches from him and ahead were cold piercing eyes. Except he did not waver, Amon kept his gaze for just a split second if that and immediately lurched forward attacking. The overwhelming energy didn't scare him, it did quite the opposite, rather it furthered his mania and his consuming anger. While it was clear he didn't, "Get," the purposeful miss of Hanako's attack it was abundant that he shown no fear even against a stronger foe... Possibly in a wrong way.

In this moment Amon moved swiftly as fast as he could almost like he forgot this was a spar, and his eyes further shown the madman behind them and the consuming aggression he held over himself. This was an instance of his anger lashing out, all of the years of hurt, everything and everyone he's lost, all the suffering and the burden he's endured finally coming out. His own energy flared despite it's much weaker stature but seemed more focused and refined, Amon slashed upward just moments after Hanako's weapon hit the ground, and her cold orbs did nothing to help matters. All he could see was black and white, and his spiritual pressure flares further releasing whatever he had, green sparks dancing across his blade as it sung through the air.

Yes, there it was. Again and stronger this time. There was the determination, the drive, but also the anger she knew all too well. She also knew that there always was this little voice. A small, but persistent voice that always said "it's not enough anyway, so why try? Just walk away from it all.". It would be so easy to just follow this voice, do what it said. This was the danger of self-doubt and all the other issues. There was an easy way out of it. But it was also the way on which one never ever would conquer her or his own demons, but only avoided them. Until now there had been the fear that Amon would choose this way. Soul King knew, she herself was tempted to run when Magnolia had unleashed her terrible power, which was still so far above Hanako's as the sky was above the earth.
Now she could see her fear was unfounded. Amon didn't turn tails and run. He didn't even flinch. He used what was given and struck back.

When his sword came up, cutting through the air, Hanako raised her left arm. The armor she wore there maybe looked like ancient samurai armor made from wood, but it was as hard and as durable as her Zanpakuto. Yet she still felt the impact.

Time seemed to slow down. Sparks flew, debris and dust was still in the air. It was as if Hanako and Amon moved through syrup instead of air. It often happened during battles but it was always as fascinating as the first time.

While still blocking Amon's sword with her left arm, she let go of her own with her right. She swung her fist, trying to put force in it just so it would push Amon away and hurt a bit, but not so it would cause severe damage. Despite her plan to push Amon to his limit, at least for a moment, she had to be careful. As much as her powers were only in the mid range, compared to all Shinigami, she still could level buildings with it.

What she wanted to do is push him back, almost against the wall of the area. Then she would race after him, leaving the large, cleaver-like sword where it was, half buried in the ground. For now.
In the instant right before Amon himself would reach the wall, Hanako would yank hard on the chain, connecting herself to her sword, pulling it out of the ground and fling it past her and towards Amon. From his perspective the giant sword would suddenly appear from behind Hanako, where he couldn't see it, and fly straight towards him. Only that Hanako wasn't aiming for Amon. She aimed several inches from his right side, where the sword would impact into the wall. Only if Amon were to launch a counterattack would he realise that Hanako's weapon blocked his sword arm. At least if he didn't move away.

But there was also Hanako still charging towards him, her left, armored, arm raised and her right fist clenched.

For Amon there was no voice of reason. The voices he heard did not tell him to back down, they did not tell him to run, not to forfeit or anything of the like. Instead his mania grew as they charged his thirst for violence, his spiritual pressure begun to grow focused and he used that to help bolster his strength, endurance and speed with however much he had. The voices told him to push onward. The voices guided him recklessly to become more and more unrelenting.

Once Amon's blade struck Hanako's armor in an instant she quickly struck again. This time Amon almost seemed to predict the attack and he quickly brought his arms up and allowed for the strike to push him back. His balance seemed on par, instead of falling backward or flat on his ass he slid back on his feet several yards away. He lowered his arms and quickly regained himself with sword ready until he saw Hanako within feet of his range. She was closing in and fast.

In mere seconds Amon was ready to lurch forward until Hanako threw her Zanpacto into the wall behind him, and instantly this made a kill box for her. The massive weapon would prevent Amon from utilizing his sword arm and her large armored limb was clenched back for an initial strike. That didn't stop Amon as he rushed forward still with the woman meeting him halfway. Amon had lowered his blade was going in for a strike with his left fist. There wasn't a whole lot of thought behind it, only that he had feigned the attack and in his full sprint dropped and slid into Hanako's legs, using his right leg to kick out her left and would use that momentum to roll forward; spinning as he got back up in one fluid motion with a slash at her side.

There was something of a surprise. While her own maneuver had been successful, Amon didn't exactly react as she had expected. Sure, there was no chance in hell that man would just stand by and wait for her to smack him one. But he also didn't do the obvious in escaping to his left. Instead he charged head on. Dangerous, reckless and bold. Would he try to maneuver his sword past the chain that was still partially blocking his right side?

No, instead he slid into her legs, surprisingly fast. Hanako felt the ground pulled from beneath her, or more accurately vice versa, and found herself in midair, open to attack. There was only a split second to react as she was sure Amon would use that opening immediately.
With a sharp yank she pulled on Bakumusha's chain. It wasn't stuck deep enough in the wall, so that she could use it as an anchor, but the mass of the sword still pulled her forward a few inches. Enough to get out of harm's way. For now.

Hanako rolled as soon as she hit the ground and pushed herself up into the air. She pulled on the chain again, only this time she used her spiritual pressure to hold against it.

The big blade came flying towards her and while she slowly fell back down again she changed the angle with which she pulled and began swinging the blade.
Cold and blue light crept from her hand, down the chain and into the sword. Finally she guided it on it's chain into a wide slash. To Amon it would look as if the sword came towards him like a pendulum. But it came too short. Obviously too short.
With a flash the energy released from the edge of the blade, formed a crescent blade and cut into the ground only a few inches before Amon's feet, just as the real blade would have.

While that happened, ejecting yet another wave of dust into the air, Bakumusha was already on its way back to Hanako.

Her spiritual pressure flared up in an icy blue wave. Her right hand got hold of the sword's grip. Then she disappeared.

Only to reappear directly in front of Amon. Her right arm moved, Bakumusha swung around in a blur, and with a dull sound the back of the blade, tightly woven from iron hard roots, hit Amon.

Never before had he felt so alive! So ravenous in a fit of bloodlust and rage he was almost blinded by it, Amons movements were with quick wits and fast acting, unpredictable at best which made him just as dangerous. If only he had the power to back it up, as Hanako had thrice the experience and twice the speed to react. The sudden trick did indeed surprise the woman but she was just as fast to react to Amons assault. At least it was a nice try.

Hanako countered quickly by avoiding the attack, she was able to pull and swing the massive blade toward Amon. He stopped short of another charge for the sudden bladed crest of glowing power striking the ground before him. Dust was brush upward into the air and Amon had to quickly back away to get some distance. And in an instant Hanako appeared just in front of Amon, he would have gone further on the offensive until a massive slab of metal hit his side.

Amon was sent flying a good fifteen feet away as the blue knocked him silly... Well, it did more than that. It was like a truck hitting him with massive brass knuckles that replaced the grill. It was painful, it was infuriating, and it knocked Amon almost out of his ferocity. Sliding face down on the ground which also hurt, Amon groaned slightly as he pulled himself up, he held the Asauchi upward and stood defensively. The wobbling and dizziness was quite evident, giant root and studded marks stood out from his left arm and face. Amon was hurt, and whether he knew it or not his face had been slightly broken from the impact he couldn't defend against.

"You and I, we share this pain! Do not give in, do not-!" Amon heard a Latin-laced voice speak to him sharply. It said a slew of other things but he couldn't understand any of them as he was half in and out of consciousness.

"Whaaat?!" Amon said out loud looking around clearly trying to find someone, his slurred tone evident now, "Vwhat chyou shay?!"

With a sudden pang of guilt Hanako realised she might have overdone it just a tad. She would have to take Amon to the medical unit immediately. And answer some questions why she ruffed up one of her people.

However, on the bright side it seemed that the fight had caused...something. it might have been that he had heard a voice. It would be the optimal outcome. Or at least a near-optimal outcome. Less injuries would have been better.
Still, even if he hadn't heard a voice, she had seen everything she had hoped to see. Amon hadn't backed down. As far as she could tell he hadn't even thought about it. It made her proud.

Curious...it was hard for her to feel proud about herself. Yet she could easily feel proud of another's accomplishments.

With a silent flash her armour sleeve, the chain and the large sword dissolved into light and flowed back together into the old, unremarkable Katana that was her sealed Zanpakuto. While she sheathed it she changed her mind and sent a message to the healing squad to send a medic here. She didn't want to disturb the moment if possible at all.

With a few quick paces she was at Amon's side, grabbing his shoulder carefully to stabilise him. He was still standing, sword still in hand. Impressive.

"It's okay Amon." She said and tried to make her voice sound as soft and warm as possible. She wouldn't be reading children's books with that voice anytime soon, but she hoped it was enough to calm down Amon. Her own spiritual pressure was at a minimum for the moment, showing that the fight was over.

"It's over. You really impressed me."

She looked at him and the confused expression on his face.

"What was it? What did you hear?"

Amon's eyes were unfocused, his mind was elsewhere, blood was trickling down the side if his head and through his face. His jaw was slacked and almost seemingly crooked, however much pain he was in Hanako's question came though a blur it seemed. It took him a solid minute to think but before Amon could answer the voice came back again. This time the voice was convoluted but clearly it was trying to say something important... Or not, it was still just a bunch of rabble.

Amon stumbled forward even through it was one step, he shown no pain but almost fell over. He was still very disorientated however he was able to get some balance after a second, he then tried to sheath his Asauchi which Amon only succeeded after cutting the tops of his fingers twice. Again, the voice came to and was clearer this time.

"What are you doing bleeding all over the place? You let yourself be caught off guard, you didn't even defend yourself!"

"Your... Mooom couldn defen frun mah dick in her moth!" Amon shot back, trying to look around for no one.

"Hah! Good luck on that, amigo, your health is in my prayers."

"Honauku," Amon turned his attention to Hanako, "Tell disth prick to Fffuck off!"

Little to Amon's knowledge were that this voice was all in his head. It spine to him as if it were another person there, a physical being present there. But alas, no one was, and further if he could try and focus he could understand there was a connection between Amon and the sword he had. The only problem was that he was stubborn in the wrong ways, and so was this voice, so much so that the two continued to taunt each other; one calm and the other who just got their ass kicked.

Thankfully the medic arrived quickly. It took approximately two seconds until his serious expression became more of a frown. He only looked at Hanako for a moment, determined that she wasn't hurt, and turned his full attention to Amon.

"He should lie down. It'll go faster if he didn't move." He said in a flat tone. He looked young, but she could see in his eyes that he knew exactly what he was doing.

"It's okay." Hanako answered. "Let him stand. I will hold him still."

Hanako grabbed Amon's shoulders a bit firmer so he couldn't sway or move around and the medic went to work.

It could be seen Amon's gaze was turned inward and he talked to someone invisible to everyone but him. It seemed to be a rather...heated debate. The medic seemed to misinterpret things.

"Aren't you Lieutenant Yamada?"

"I am. Why?"

"You let all your people talk to you like that?"

Hanako shook her head.

"He's not talking to me. It's his Zanpakuto. I hope."

Meanwhile the medic had finished his work.

"He's fine. Physically, at least."

The medic took a last long look at his patient and then left. Hanako was sure she heard something 'the fourth again',mumbled under his breath. Well...there was a cliche confirmed.

"Amon!" She said, a bit more forceful this time.
"Come on! Look at me!"

For a moment she thought about a refreshing slap for Amon, but decided against it. She had caused enough brain damage for one day and felt bad enough for it as it was.

"We still need to work on your manners but I think I know who you're talking to. I hope so, at least."

She kept talking hoping her voice would bring him back to reality.

"Even if I'm wrong, I've seen everything today I had hoped to see. You have all it takes, everything else is technique and training."
