That final response gave the woman pause as she watched the man close himself off. As familiar as his habits seemed to her, she still couldn't understand. She simply didn't understand. Once upon a time, he and her sister had apparently been close. He had gone through so much trouble to connect, and now...well having spent time with her Sister. She struggled to understand how things could have gotten to the way that they were. She understood the weight of his Family, but she didn't understand the weight of the kuchiki specifically. Whatever had happened, it seemed that time had taken it's toll. And in much the very same train of thought in Byakuya's mind, she herself found herself thinking the very same thing.

This was not the Byakuya that had married her. And perhaps, that was her own fault.

No..... no thinking about what little she did know. The cold man standing before her was most assuredly the way he was because of her.

"Thank you for speaking with me, Lord Kuchiki." She noted softly, offering a small bow of respect before turning and taking her leave.
