Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private] Empty Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private]

The girl's heels clicked against the cement sidewalk as she tugged at her collar to loosen it. The lady was a blonde with short hair for a female, soft peach-colored skin and shallow green eyes that couldn't possibly hold any malice within them—they were that innocent. Her wear was not the most casual of attires, though one could be forgiven for being simply too well-dressed after all. It was what she typically wore to school, and she honestly didn't have too many outfits besides this one to wear anyways. She was a simple one, with simple style. She enjoyed her look so why change to and fro with different colors and such? It was because she cared for the way she appeared to others that she adhered to a narrow style. If she looked into a mirror and saw herself wearing some brash yellow or dull brown, she'd feel like she was watching a stranger stare her back in the eye. These were just the little pet peeves of the young Kurosawa that dictated her personal life. And it would be because one of them that she strode outside of her house and toward another.

The trip wasn't long, not even a hassle; June was only visiting a neighbor, for you see she was a rather new occupant of her home. Not the day before had she settled her things into the house. It was a nice place, ritzier than your typical middle-class abode. But, its realtor had such a steep starting price that there were none willing to pay it for a long time, until June came along. There were so many neat things she'd never knew a house would have; three stories of halls and rooms, a miniature theatre, a comprehensive library, an arcade... June really didn't know if she would use any of this; she was just glad to have a roof over her head, for her guardians were benevolent. As night had passed and the day began, June's thoughts were more towards meeting the neighbors and getting to know the area. She'd like to get acquainted with this new home, so different from anything she recalled from her withered memories. She wanted to do it as soon as possible, because she was already signed up for classes in Karakura High School and she didn't want to get too caught up in it before she figured this city out a little more.

The first stop was an equally lavish manor but a small jog from her place, though she chose not to rush while in these shoes. Her outfit was blue and white and rimmed with golden lines; folded black cuffs, high collar, short red handkerchief down the center of her neck. She also wore a skirt of a very dark shade of gray, or light shade of black if you wanted to put it that way. Her legs were mostly bare save the white socks that rose half way up to her knees, and black felt heels on her feet to complete the look. She was definitely... in uniform, one could say. She walked composedly and respected the clothing she wore. It was only the uncomfortable tightness around her neck she was having a bit of trouble getting used to. She'd only broke this outfit out this morning for the first time—there were some adjustments to be made. She would get to that, but for now, as she came up upon her first stop, she stopped fiddling with her collar and began her tread up the steps to the door. One deep breath, inhale and exhale, before raising her hand to the door and knocking on the baroque wooden set of double doors. She ignored the doorchime that was just off the side, likely because she wasn't even aware as to what it was.

The doorknob twisted with a click and the expensive mahogany doors swung open to reveal a redheaded maid on the other side. Held in front of her was a silver platter, freshly cleaned and shining bright in the daylight. The girl was careful not to shine it in the blonde one's eyes on accident, as first impressions were the most important ones in her eyes. Her fiery red eyes stared at this new girl with a genuine smile and a cold warmth in her eyes. It wasn't that she didn't want to see this stranger, or rather that she did, but it was more like she was somewhat irritated at having her job interrupted. Yet this coldness wasn't quite irritation.

"If you are here to visit, the only one home is Miss Yuyuko. The owners of this estate, her parents, are currently away on an important business trip in another country." the woman said in a surprisingly genuine tone. With eyes like a hawk, she scanned the girl's every physical feature several times over the course of just a few seconds before speaking up again, just before the girl could open her mouth and speak. "And you've just recently moved into the neighborhood, no? I've caught word of someone moving in and have seen you not too far away. If you're here to meet your neighbors, you're more than welcome."

The woman stepped aside and held the door open for the newcomer, showing off the interior of the expansive household. The lobby was massive, but kind of stereotypical for a house of this magnitude. The door opened up to reveal a lobby with a massive staircase in the middle of it that lead up to the second floor. The carpet was a nice light beige color with a navy blue carpet leading neatly up the stairs that were bordered by two mahogany rails, ingrained with flowery and natural patterns. The left had several flower based designs running up and down its length, while the other was covered in a design not unlike that of a vine covered in thorns. The final touch to these rails were the words carved in kanji at the bottom of the rails, where they curved up into spheres. The left translated to "Life", and the other "Death". Every door on the bottom floor was some sort of mahogany wood, like most other wooden structures in the house, and looked to be polished and maintained quite well. The chandelier above was gold and shining bright, and the walls were painted a similar tone of beige as the floor, if not slightly lighter just to differentiate. At the top of the stairs, there was a beautiful mosaic that displayed a girl with flowing black hair wearing long, beautiful white robes, with wings sprouting out of her back.

"Please follow me, Miss Yuyuko is most likely in the library at this time of day." the woman said, leading the newcomer off to one of the rooms to the left. The door was held open for the girl as they entered and shut behind them before continuing on down the hall. The house seemed to have the same theme where anything that was wooden was most likely mahogany, and there were several pictures hung up on the walls of this particular hallway. Two adults holding their baby child, a young black haired girl who looked to be no more than five playing with her father, a young pre-teen wearing glasses who was surrounded by flowers... the pictures were all clearly of the family, with the girl clearly being the daughter, but once she hit a certain age, her hair started appearing purple as opposed to black. She must have dyed it.

The walk so far was silent, as the maid made little to no effort to participate in small talk. She had never been much of that kind of person anyways. Often times the girl could catch the woman quickly giving things a good look or two before moving on, though this didn't slow their pace at all. Speed and efficiency was what she needed to get things done, considering she was more than a maid in this household. The HEAD maid is what she was, and so she had far more than just basic maid duties. Monitoring, managing, and cleaning, were her duties, and right now she seemed to be putting that ahead of even this guest. Sure she was important, this new girl, but the woman seemed to have other thoughts. As they approached the double doors leading to the library, the woman slowed and moved next to the blonde girl to look in to her eyes. Her gaze was different this time, less cold, more... apologetic?

"I apologize in advance if Miss Yuyuko is asleep again. Her sleep schedule is... nonspecific, especially during the weekends." the maid said, breaking the awkward silence that had accompanied their walk thus far. And as the red haired maid opened the doors to reveal the library, one could see the girl in the pictures with her head quick literally planted into her book. A sigh of disappointment came from the woman as she saw this, but nonetheless kept leading the blonde-haired woman towards the girl. The library was massive, holding an absurdly large amount of books. The number of shelves that lined the walls and even the spaces inbetween was great, as were the multitudes of books that lined them. In the center of the room, laying face first on the desk, as seen before, was Yuyuko, and according to the maid, this behavior was not abnormal for her.

Upon reaching the desk in which the young heir to the house rested, Ophelia quickly placed her hand on the girl's back and started rubbing it, even bending over a little to whisper into the girl's ear.

"Miss Yuyuko, you must wake up. We have guests." the woman cooed into the girls ear in a soft, motherly tone. The girl took a few seconds to stir in her rest before slowly and groggily sitting up, eyes still closed as she lifted her head and looked up.

"Guests..." the girl muttered sleepily, eyes slowly creaking open. It was clear the girl was having trouble seeing, as it took her several seconds of rapid blinking and eye rubbing to see the newcomer that was no more than several feet in front of her at the most. Once she did realize, however, she immediately jolted upright, eyes wide and face turning bright red as she realized the situation.

"O-Oh, I'm so sorry!" she said, forgetting completely that she was in a nightgown still or that her hair was an absolute mess. "If I had known w-we were having guests I wouldn't have s-stayed up so late, I'm so sorry!" The girl apologized a second time and extended her hand, standing up straight and trying to look as civil as possible. Even then, she still looked a little flustered and shy. "My name is Yuyuko, of the Mikadzuki household. U-Umm... w-what's yours?"

Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private] Empty Re: Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private]

June noted that the air was a lot calmer than she was used to, just now, that she had a moment to herself to stand still. The sun rays shone through the wind as it gently tickled her skin, not even managing to displace one of her hairs into her eye... as she was used to. It was not just the housing that was magnificent, but the sheer atmosphere itself. 'Ha,' she mentally snickered, seeing that the sky was blue from horizon to horizon, not a cloud in the sky. Everything seemed to align for the residents of this neighborhood, and there was no kidding about it being fit for nobility. Perhaps it was all of these factors—and not only the manor itself—that drove the prices so high. As she awaited at the door, she spent her time trying to presage the type of people she would acquaint herself with today, leaning toward the more snobbish and affluent of individuals. So it was quite surprising when rather than a silk-collared duke or duchess, June was received by a housemaid. She'd seen maids before, but only once or twice in her life; it was a sign of great wealth. She was disappointed in herself for not considering that.

June offered the maiden a smile, oblivious to whatever vexation afflicted her. She noted that the woman had probably been busy before she'd arrived, though it never quite clicked in her mind that she'd interrupted her duties. After all, the maid made no pursuit to point the fact out to June, actually seeming like quite the pleasant person. It would seem the current lady of the house was none other than a young "Miss Yuyuko," kept company only by the servants of the manor as her parents were away. ''Neat-o,'' she responded in chipper tone of voice, ''My parents are away as well. We have so much in common already. By the way, my name is June. Kurosawa. Yep, yep, you'd be all right about me just moving in, and I'd thought I'd go around to meet the neighbors while I had the spare time... It never hurts to be a little cordial.''

As her greeter moved aside, June finally took her first real look into the great house. As she stepped in she could hear her heels thudding dully against the carpeted floor, and yet not a single echo rang out to her ears. Walking into the lobby, she felt slightly disconnected from the seemingly familiar architecture. This place was not too different from the estate she now lived in, and yet they did not feel like they were built by the same person. The reason was because of that lack of an echo; when June had first entered her home, her footsteps had resounded throughout the entire house and back to her several times over. This was because in this home, there was so much... stuff—on the floor, along the walls, hanging from the ceiling, and decorating the rooms—that the echo was obstructed and quieted. The residents of this house had given it an entirely new atmosphere than what was supplied by the original architects; they'd taken true ownership. June could appreciate the beauty of it even if it was not in her own taste. She did not think she'd ever manage to accomplish the same for her home, and again she was just grateful that she had a nice place to sleep.

By the time that June had snapped herself out of her reverie, the maiden was already ambling off toward another room. June was fairly certain something was said and she didn't quite hear it, but presumed that the best course of action here was to follow the leader. With a few long paces she was right in step, panning back and forth across the hallway to see how many familiar details she could spot on the way there. The trek was not so long though, and June found herself nearly walking into the back of the maid before quickly catching herself, taking and a step back, and then looking around her shoulder to see what the sudden pause was about. Was something said again? June was paying attention. She probably should have been paying attention... But no, what they beheld was what could be mistaken for a lavender wig attached the top of an opened book. Upon closer inspection, June could determine that it was a short young woman who'd fallen asleep in the middle of her literature. While the maid sighed, June would grin to herself, thinking the scene rather cute.

Perhaps it was overly polite, but the blonde would hold her tongue and wait until she was called to associate herself with them... not even to correct them on an inaccurate plurality of the word 'guest.' Yuyuko would open her eyes and reveal them to be nearly the same shade of purple as her hair was, both expressive as can be. June could see the little details of her eyes that signified that she was adjusting to the light, focusing in on her guest. Eventually, with enough blinking, she locked onto June and her soft smile, and would receive a slight wave of the hand in return. Woosh! And the girl was up, unhinged over appearing as what she probably thought was indecent before a stranger. June didn't mind, and tried to even softly wave off the apologies as unnecessary. She didn't have the same mannerisms as the people Yuyuko was used to dealing with, so it was understandable, but unnecessary. ''Everything's fine; if anything, it's more my fault for arriving without prior warning, though I only moved into the neighborhood recently.''

She'd admitted her name to the maid, but she had no qualms telling it again for the lady of the house. She placed her hand just over Yuyuko's and gave a slight bow, trying to appear as regal as could be. ''I am June Kurosawa... of the house next door. It's nice to meet you.''

Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private] Empty Re: Regal Threads and Shallow Eyes [June, Yuyuko; Private]

Yuyuko waited for the girl to criticize her, to mock her for doing something so childish as passing out, face buried in a large novel. What came instead, surprised the young girl. "O-Oh, you don't need to be so formal, uh... June." the purple-haired girl said, giggling nervously and blushing at the sight. "I-I mean, n-not that it's a bad thing! I-It's just..." Yuyuko averted her eyes and blushed even deeper. "N-Nevermind..."

Quickly composing herself, the young girl pulled her way from what she was expecting to just be a handshake and looked over her shoulder at the maid. The woman simply nodded without needing a word and scurried off. One of the other maids was nearby, and the read headed woman started barking orders at her. It wasn't more than a few seconds before the other maid was off to fetch something. This was normal for Yuyuko, having Ophelia do most, if not all of her work for her, that is. She feared the day when she'd need something to be done and Ophelia wasn't there to do it for her, or even help. It didn't take much for her to realize just how frail and dependent on others she was. For the moment however, she could take care of her guest by herself.

"Ah, I suppose you should sit down with me so we can chat, or something. That's usually what happens in these situations right?" Yuyuko wondered aloud, brow furrowing a little as she made a quiet groan of confusion. Oh how obvious it must have been for June to see how unsociable this purple-haired mess was. Everything about her seemed unorganized in some way. Her hair was an uneven mess, with strands sticking out left and right and her bangs being a mess just above her eyes. Even her nightgown was a little disorderly, with a tea stain on her belly from accidentally spilling her drink all over herself. Wait, she did that? But... when...? Oh wait, it was when the guy decided to break up with-

"Miss Yuyuko."

Yuyuko turned to see the red headed maid that was here moments ago back already with a fresh change of clothes for her. It was held out for her, neatly folded and tucked in all the right places in a manner that seemed perfect by the maid who was looking over at June apologetically. The purple haired girl mentally guessed how much time she had spent daydreaming, and she could honestly say about ten or twenty seconds of awkward silence. Then again she was still tired from having just woken up mere minutes ago.

"Ah, thank you. I'll go get changed just over here, I apologize for the wait..." the young girl said before stepping off around the book corner and proceeding to strip and change into her new clothes. Meanwhile, June was left with the read headed maid once more, a seemingly recurring theme.

"I apologize for my mistress' behavior. I've told her a great number of times to stop pulling all nighters while reading those silly romance novels of hers. She just doesn't seem to learn..." the woman said, shaking her head before looking back at the blonde-haired guest. "And tea will be ready in a minute or so. I do hope you don't mind staying a little while."

"Ah yes, please do stay June." Yuyuko said, coming back from around the corner. It seems she didn't hear the maid's comment about her choice of reading at all, as she was still smiling. The maid could only sigh in relief, not wanting to have to deal with a flustered Yuyuko again within the same span of 24 hours. Last night's ordeal was... a little strange. Even still, the maid could only smile as she watched Yuyuko brush down her hair as best she could with her fingernails, actually managing to make it look somewhat decent as she did so. Her long purple hair flowed over her shoulders and down her back in a straight, clean cut style that actually looked somewhat presentable now. "So... what brings you to Karakura?" the girl finally asked as she took a seat at the nearby table, trying and succeeding somewhat to look composed and polite. After motioning for June to sit either across from her or next to her, Yuyuko folded her hands politely on the table and looked over at the guest with a smile, trying to be as friendly as possible. It wasn't often she got guests, and for once in her life, she'd like to at least give a somewhat decent first impression, though that might have been ruined when she was found as a half asleep mess with her face planted directly into a book. She might have been drooling a little too, making it even worse.
