At least the Shin'o Academy student could still be relied upon. Even had he been put down for the count Mirajane would have still prepared to combat this newest threat with every bit of confidence as she had now. This powerful determination was the result of her past and having repeatedly been put in life or death situations even as a child, though to others it could easily be confused with arrogance. For her part Mira acknowledged the current circumstances were almost certainly stacked against her and her fledgling ally, but fleeing was clearly not an option here and as such defeating this foe was the only path available to them.

Upon her ally's acknowledgement of her statement, Mira gripped her copper blade with renewed vigor and sprinted forward. As Takehiko began reciting his spell's incantation Mirajane reached the massive Demon and deftly dodged out of the way from an incoming punch with one of it's mighty fists. With one of it's three fists now lodged solidly in the ground, Mira took advantage of her foe's position and struck out with her Zanpakuto by slicing across the back of it's arm. Despite landing a direct hit, Mira had barely managed to break the monster's skin without doing any significant damage to it. Unfortunately the time it took for her to land the blow was enough for the Demon to withdraw it's limb and prepare for a follow up attack.

Right as the behemoth came close to slamming it's boulder-sized fists onto Mirajane's significantly less durable body, suddenly a red glow covered it's silhouette and froze it in place. However, it was clear even with Takehiko having used a full incantation to empower his Kido Spell the Demon would not be restrained for long. Seeing another opportunity to strike, Mira leaped up and grabbed the beast's arm which she used to swing up and land on it's muscular shoulder. With no time to waste the Shinigami lifted her Zanpakuto and thrust it's razor sharp tip into the Demon's eye, sheathing it in it's head; after all, one guaranteed weakness of practically any living creature was their eyes. At this point Takehiko's spell broke and the Shadow Fall soldier collapsed in a heap on the ground, apparently killed in one go by their combined strategy.

Even with both hands wrapped around her Zanpakuto's tsuka Mirajane struggled to withdraw her blade from her defeated enemy's skull. Evidently the tip had gone made it's way through back of the creature's head, and thus the weapon was lodged in it's rocky skin like Excalibur. "Give...it....back..!" Without any warning a meaty fist struck Mirajane on her side, immediately breaking her left arm in multiple places while simultaneously knocking the wind out of her chest and causing her to grasp for breath; however that wasn't all as she was sent flying through the air into a stack of near empty crates near Takehiko which did not serve to soften her landing much at all. With an incredibly loud and animalistic ROAR the Demon rose to it's feet and turned to it's remaining enemy. With a gruesome squishing sound beast removed Mirajane's Zanpakuto from it's eye socket and threw the copper sword at Takehiko with enough power to send it whizzing through the air at a rapid speed.

Takehiko Kuchiki

In terms of ideal situations, this was going alright but he couldn't hold it. He panted a bit as he felt the sweat drip down his jaw. That was a big creature to restrain with that kido even with a full incantation. Something didn't feel right as he glanced at the creature for a while. It seemed like it was down but when he saw movement. Its body still held the beat of life within it. They'd lowered their guard far too early in this situation. His choice was to shout or ready himself quickly as he saw the fist making an impact with her. Trouble was, he wasn't sure he could react that quickly. She'd been injured badly and this situation didn't seem to improve any. Takehiko couldn't catch her he just wasn't quick enough. Because a sword had been sent at him which he quickly avoided. Not having enough time to avoid that and help her. It would hopefully skid across the floor. Its body was hard making it difficult to manage in any case. Takehiko needed to think and quickly for this to work. He'd need to apply his mask most likely to get anywhere with it.

But keeping the leaps in logic to a small amount his flash step and kido were his skills of merit. Takehiko hadn't gotten very far with his skills as of yet. So the idea of him causing damage to it where she couldn't. That was unlikely but she had already inflicted injuries on it. How much gas did he have left in the tank was the question. Takehiko stood where he was for less than a minute. Considering his options to buy her some time. He was going to have to use some desperate measures to close this out. Soe he hoped he could predict the moves correctly. ]The kido would have to be used in order and likely fast. He needed to buy her some time at this point in the junction. Takehiko saw the damage done to its eye and decided a direct move would be best. Applying his mask now for a bit more juice though he couldn't hold this long. He knew what the goal would have to be. He'd need to get up close and person inhaling a breath he used a flash step. Releasing a full power Byakurai in its eyes.

Using one hand to do this while his other hand prepared to parry a blow with Seki, or repulse A small blue orb would appear when the side of the swing was detected. It had enough extra push on it to send the arm flying away from him. Trouble was he couldn't really say this was a brilliant idea. Takehiko had to make sure to keep moving at this point after this portion. He moved away from it now, slowly guiding it away from her. Mira needed time to recover and get up again. At worse case, they'd need to call on some back up of some sort. Hopefully having blinded the big brute with the shots to the eyes he had some advantage. But he doubted it as his mask began to crack already. Damn it nothin lasted long enough as he felt his tank getting near empty. Slowly his hand touched his zanpakuto blade drawing it. Nothing could be done for it with how low he was getting on energy. His blue eyes had returned almost from the yellow color they became with his mask.

So in terms of the goal if everything had gone as planned Mira now had its flank. Takehiko was sadly stuck facing its big ugly mug. What he wouldn't give to have a release or more spells under his belt. Kido was such an expansive art for those who used it. But at the moment ten of each spell were all he had to work within his knowledge. Takehiko didn't know if he could really cut this thing as it stood. He was sort of drawing on empty out of his well at this moment. He needed time and maybe some stamina pills. To bring back lost energy that had been expanded on this endeavor. Sweat dripped down his body from head to toe as he felt danger was near. But that was fine by him really in this case he was helping. He couldn't heal her injuries at the moment. Because well a rather large demon seemed against the idea also. Takehiko didn't know much about it but if he had the energy now seemed like learning time. Breathes came and went as he waited for a response from the massive monster.

Rukongai Adventure [OPEN] - Page 2 Empty Re: Rukongai Adventure [OPEN]

The monstrous demon continued it's uproarious bellowing as it's arms flailed through many attempts to squash the Shinigami still standing. Takehiko barely to deflect one of it's mighty fists just after blasting it's still-healthy eye with a low level Kido spell. Unfortunately, unlike a blade, Takehiko's Hadō could only temporarily blind the beast while causing some retinal damage; however this temporary advantage would help to continue drawing it's ire in his direction, saving Mirajane from possible death. Perhaps this was the best case scenario the Kuchiki could cause to occur, it was difficult to tell as one of the demon warrior's boulder sized fists struck the ground just in front of him. The earth cracked beneath the monster's blow, sending forth chunks of ground in every direction. At the very least Takehiko was still alive, though clearly exhausted from the effort.

Blackness clouded Mirajane's mind as she lay seemingly lifelessly in a pile of ruin, her own blood staining the dirt ground underneath. Eventually, through tremendous strain, Mira managed to open her eyes to a scene of total white; hardly better than the black abyss she'd just experienced. Between the dull throb of pain and ringing in her ears Mira struggled to look past the percussive symphony of noise in order to regain control of her unfortunate situation. Like all things, time was the answer as over the next few moments the picture of reality rushed back to her like a crashing wave of information overload until eventually Mira's senses acclimated to her surroundings again. She was instantly reminded of when, as a child, a behemoth of a boar-like beast nearly gored her to death.

This time however she still managed to end up on death's door despite years of training and experiences. Such a truth stirred something deep within her very DNA, awakening a rage Mira had not felt for as long as she could remember. Rage at not being good enough. Rage at not being strong enough. Rage at losing. Thus with this wrathful vengeance bringing her blood to a boiling point, Mira dragged her broken body to it's knees and gripped the nameless Zanpakuto she'd been given in the Shin'o Academy, it's copper blade glinting still; Through luck alone it had managed to roll over to her after impacting a nearby wall. Through blurred vision Mira managed to make out the visage of her enemy and prepared to end things one way or another. Either she would die, or it would. Such was the nature of survival.

With both herself and the Demon blinded by crimson rage, neither was quite aware of the situation at large and goings-on around them; The former knew not of Takehiko's welfare, while the latter remained sure Mirajane still laid dead upon the ground. With a dash Mirajane sprinted across the distance between herself and her target, reducing it to naught in but a few seconds. Upon reaching a few meters behind the monstrous demon Mirajane utilized all the strength still in her exhausted legs to launch off the ground like a rocket, arcing just above it's head and now within Takehiko's sights. To him and any other she would appear almost as demonic as the savage brute she had fallen prey to, killing intent radiating off her like heat from the Sun. With a surge of speed and strength Mirajane pushed herself and her blade down and onto the Demon's gargantuan skull, on which she landed and pierced. The copper sword sheathed itself in the bone of it's skull, tearing through it's most sensitive tissue like a hot knife through butter.

From Takehiko's perspective the Demon would come to a halt and freeze, still as a statue, as if it'd been turned to stone. Just as quickly as it'd frozen the behemoth would suddenly crash down upon it's knees before finally falling forward, nearly crushing the Shinigami in the process, though it was unlikely he would actually be injured by the fall due to how slowly it'd happened compared to their movements just prior. Jumping down from the beast's skull, Mira withdrew her Zanpakuto and cleaned with a single flick of her wrist. Though her left arm still hung at her side, broken and useless, the burning intensity of her gaze was indicative of a warrior uncaring for her own state. It was just then that the adrenaline keeping her standing began to wear off, dropping the Gotei soldier to her knees just as her foe had mere seconds prior. Sweat poured from her brow as Mira's breathing became shallow and strained, unable to continue fighting no matter what else came from the building's now-covered basement. With luck nothing else came forth and the two Shinigami would be granted reprieve from battle.

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko winced as he saw the ground in front of him shatter from the impact. Blinding it was the best case he had at the moment. His sword arm felt heavy and so did his body. But at this point drawing it away from Mirajane was important. He couldn't let her get beaten up anymore. He considered his options carefully as he began calculating a new strategy. Takehiko considered and decided self-destructing with Hadō 31 would work best. As he knew that would hurt not just a little but a lot really. He also needed to mend Mirajane's injuries though he wasn't in any shape for fancy stuff. Takehiko could perform Kaido and set her bone. This was a bad situation to be caught in as he knew others wouldn't be here quick enough. He softly winced as a bit feeling his well out. He didn't know how long he needed to draw it away. It was unknown her condition besides. It was then he saw a familiar glimmer and detected something. She'd risen up and gained the advantage on the beast before her.

With movements his eyes tiredly watched she dispatched the beast with a loud crack. Its skull seemed to sunder as he felt the pulse of it begin to fall. It was over when it seemed as he inhaled a bit. Now came to treating her injuries which hopefully she was alright with. Takehiko didn't intend to leave her that way as he walked over. Running just was not an option and he needed to make sure she was in good shape. "Let me check your injuries, I've some medical training." Takehiko didn't stand out at the Academy for a single reason. He was more interested in mending things than breaking them. Healers weren't seen as important or impressive really. Thus they didn't shine or glimmer as much as combative students did. His digits gently touched her arm not putting pressure on it as he felt her bones. Takehiko's skill was a tender touch that didn't send pain as he inhaled. She did a number on it and that was alright overall, the question was were any bones out of place.

Making certain it healed right was important truthfully so he brought his coat off pulling his sword and cutting it. Creating a sling of sorts as he gently rested her arm in it. Takehiko worked quickly as he examined her and brought his hands up slowly. They trembled as he felt so tired at the moment with exhaustion. But she needed at least first aid to ensure nothing came to pass. A green-hued glow formed upon his hands as he began healing her. Restoration began by restoring reiatsu to the body. Healing her spent energy first then the physical injuries in this case. Takehiko lacked many things in this instance and his kido had only offered a temporary diversion. Now came the mending period where he was needed most. He couldn't instantly fix that broken arm here. He'd rather her get better treatment for it. So thus making a sling that would stabilize it for the moment. Allowing her to cradle it gently. "Need to administer first aid, then hopefully someone in the Gotei can do more."

Takehiko said through breathes as he drew upon a well of energy he'd tapped almost. But he finished rather small healing to her energy supplies. Takehiko simply fell back into a nearby wall after finishing. His body was tired and he'd used up every last bit of his energy. Not leaving a drop to spare even though walking became difficult now. The reason why some could ask was she looked like she needed a hand. Takehiko never turned a blind eye to those in need. It wasn't because he considered himself a hero. Nor did he believe himself powerful or strong enough to fix anything. Thus her arm being in a sling at the moment and not fixed completely. Restoring her energy so she could fight again if need be was important. But also this treated minor injuries, not the broken arm. But it did help her out in the end. Takehiko felt so tired from everything he'd done thus far really. He'd drawn on an almost empty well drying it further. Such was the difficulty of it all really.
