Coming here was an effort to restore something. He'd broken inside at some point he guessed. Maybe coming to the site of a tragedy would help. People were preserved here in a type of ash. Their bodies have not faded despite the time. The streets or what was a simple jumbled mess. Lava once flowed down these places screaming voices filling the air. Takehiko's frame stopped before a little girl who didn't make it. Takehiko knelt slowly to his knees looking. His expression was cold and lifeless as he looked. She screamed as she was killed or perhaps fear of it coming. Why didn't he feel anything looking at this? What had happened to him to become this way? He should feel something and he knew it. Anger may be or perhaps some sadness of some kind. He didn't feel anything not a damn thing. His body felt numb even though he pinched himself for a moment. It hurt but he just didn't care about it anymore. How many failed to evacuate this place in time? Why was it even considering the math or numbers? He couldn't bring emotion back inside of him.

It just felt like an abyss of emptiness inside of him. This city was a wasteland now of nothing but ash. What did he see in this place that once lived? What was the vibrant expression that was here? What sort of expression did he make in this situation? What was he supposed to do here and now? They were past his skills to revive or do anything. Even had he been here Ulv was here and failed. What did it matter if he tried? Dust caught in the breeze as he walked through the streets. Half melted cars and buildings lingered. This place had become a ghost town unable to be lived in. His grey eyes looked over the place. His emotions where had they gone now? Had losing Akuma broke him so much deep down? Did he do this to himself in response? Was his failure such that he chose to rip apart his emotions? Was that his response to deal with it, by not dealing with it? Psychological matters weren't his specialty. Broken minds were far from something he understood.

Hell had a face much uglier then this he imagined. What could be accomplished by coming here? Why did he think this place would save his emotions? Why did he want them back even? It was an introspective change inside him without a real reason. Nothing that he cared about enough to investigate further. His eyes held a dullness inside them as though the light was gone. Standing up he walked around this place. Would he feel anger about the Gotei who did this, or satisfaction for dealing a blow to the Demons? No, he didn't feel anything nothing remotely came to him. It was sad, but he couldn't feel it as the emotion escaped him. Nothing satisfied him anymore, nothing had since. This was a drastic measure coming here and he realized it. It didn't feel like anything was accomplished by sitting here in this place. What benefit did this hold to the Kuchiki Clan? What did he bring himself here for? His emotions were gone so why waste his time anymore? Why did time even matter in that regard?

Sitting down on a cooled chunk of magma he remained still. Just gazing at this destruction wondering if meaning could be found.

Footsteps would occasionally sound on the harder portions of the now silent city. The one who placed footsteps along the ground was a young woman, a young woman with a little mission for the day. Occasionally her mind called upon images of fire, of screams, of bubbling magma, of tears upon her face, of screams that were her own.

She ignored the shock such images attempted to place upon her, but golden tears did bead her eyes. A friend was lost on that day, lives were dashed, and a friend badly hurt. This place was one of bad memories, but she sought to fix that. Nobody seemed to even attempt to salvage the shattered buildings, so the young one had her own little fix in mind. She walked the desolate streets, occasionally seeing a charred corpse, and instead of disregarding them, every single one she'd seen she would kneel down and give prayers for a safe pass to the afterlife. That was all she could do for them, even if they were not of her kind.

However, she did sense another life, another force of emotions present, one of immense sadness, but she held off running to the first thing she'd sense, if anything it could just be someone who lost something here. Though she would give them the choice; she would send off a small golden moth with strange holes in it's wings, much like a work of art towards them. If they so cared or wished, the moth would flutter around them, a tiny song given by their wings, and soon would flicker off towards it's creator, as if wishing for them to follow.

Calypso on the other hand, had finally reached a favorable spot to begin her mission. A portal to seemingly nothingness opened, motioning her hands came several deep purple bubbles of varying sizes, each and every one of then holding what looked to be a plant, be they flowers or saplings, gently placing them on the ground and bursting, until a whole mini garden's worth of potted greenery was placed on the ground before her.

"You all have a special job to do."
She smiled brightly to the little garden, "All of you, even the littlest flower."

His gaze shifted as he sensed something in the area. A demon was here or was it a demon? It felt different to him so judgment seemed a bit quick. Standing up from his spot he disappeared into the air. Standing upon it before he sat in the air. His gray eyes looking at her now She brought with her strange things that were different. He stood up looking at her for a moment longer. His gaze held an indifference he couldn't control. She was bringing things to fix this place? Why though, was it for some personal reason? He used a step coming down to stand a distance from her. Making sure to give her personal space."Are you trying to heal it?" His voice held a monotone he couldn't help. If she looked inside him it would be whatever color meant nothing. Takehiko's emotions weren't just broken they were beyond his comprehension. But not hers he guessed other races could see better. Arianda always knew how he felt inside. Well, when he felt things inside anyways. Frustration and so many familiar feelings didn't surge up. He just didn't feel anything at all.

Nostalgia would have been acceptable at this point. But what did it matter and why did he care? If she was heali9ng this place what difference did it make? Did it bring the fallen back to life somehow? Did it restore what that criminal destroyed here? Why did he not feel a connection to it? She was trying to heal herself not just this place. He didn't feel the anger he wished he could at the moment. This indifference was a problem. Takehiko saw everything in grey anymore in this world. He looked at his Vice-Captain's badge now. What did this even mean to him in true? Would she destroy him for being here? Why couldn't he feel worried or fear either? What had happened to him at that moment? What happened when light drowned out his negaitive. Was he broken and shattered by Ulv or himself? What was the cause of this internal fracture? It felt like the void had consumed him from within. It was a dark abyss that lingered before him.

No darkness had a feeling or sensation that could reach. This was just nothing upon nothing. It felt truly meaningless even for him. Failure and mistakes in the past with strategy. Not using their resources properly they fought. They sent a dangerous man. An unknown figure accepted openly within it. No pause or questions asked about him. How long would he be within the Gotei? How long would the organization and he be together? That was the question that lingered inside. Would their paths part like Uncle Byakuya's? Shouldn't he care about that as well? What was it he lost at that moment? Was it a fragment of importance or something left forgotten.

Calypso sensed the presence behind her far before he could utter a word, a gentle smile forming on her lips as she picked up one of the small pots of flowers, turning to face the young man who had come her way, asking if she was going to "heal" the city. A gentle exhale came from her nostrils as she softly shook her head,
"No no no, healing implies I can undo what happened here to a great extent, to the point it would be almost like it never happened. I can't do that. What I can do is.."

A hand transformed into a large, shadowy claw as it dug into the soil before her, the blackened dirt soon being gifted a small helping of seeds from one of the packets she had on hand, soon being covered,

"..Give it new life. I can't bring the fallen back, but at least I can honor them by breathing life into their final resting place."

She patted the soil firm as the claw ever so gently marked the spot, "Volcanic soil is perfect for plants, after all. Be it a memorial to the tragedy that befell here..."

She looked up at him, a softness to her gaze, "What about you? What are you doing here, sullen one? Your heart's pretty quiet for a young man."

He listened before her comment about his heart. He glanced down touching his heart now. What was it to be quiet in the heart? Did he care about it enough for it to matter? He stood still and thought for a moment on it. No, it wasn't there as it should have been. His eyes looked up and towards her as his gaze neither softened nor hardened. It kept a melancholy stare about it as he answered. "I came here to see if I felt anything. If this place could move my heart to feel again." He said glancing around the location. His frame remaining still as he didn't seem disappointed. But it did seem like something had been missing from him. Was the scalding flames of Resolve Flame to blame? Or did he do this to himself somehow? Could a mind break in such a way to stop caring? His studies hadn't shown anything on it. He was a shadow of his former self. In both power and emotions, they'd diminished so much. What was his purpose in coming here, he still didn't feel anything? She couldn't heal the wounds on this place even so.

She took advantage of the tragedy's only positive volcanic ash that was good for flowers. It made good soil for them as he glanced around. In all this tragedy she found something good. What had he found in coming here to this place? He felt like his emotions were a depiction of this emptiness. Once upon a time, he'd of fallen to his knees. Crying and weeping at this site and what it was. That one of their own could call down this level of destruction. To destroy a place here where it was so hard to heal. That was the greatest tragedy of it all. But what if Ulv and others had not stopped him? Would more places be like this endless wasteland from it? His shoulders shrunk as he had to acknowledge it wasn't here. Whatever he was looking for it didn't feel near. It felt like it was lost and this wasn't the place. It felt like a child missing from their parents and only wanted posters for miles. Yet this place didn't ring his phone, no it did nothing but made him see what was and had become this.

"Well that's stupid."

Caly worked while she spoke, periodically planting seeds, breaking harder formations of cooled rock, and marking each and every spot she finished burying. She seemed strangely graceful, at ease even, as she worked about the tragedy.

"If you weren't here during the tragedy, this place wouldn't mean much to you. If you weren't born here, again, it wouldn't mean much. You've just come to the bones of a place that doesn't matter to you, that you have no plans for."

She hummed a bit as she worked, some song dug from her subconsciousness, as she momentarily looked to the young man, "Besides, a place can't turn on your feelings. You're putting way too much pressure on the external, there. You don't sound very smart."

She spoke teasingly, of course, but it was something the young man had to know, "All that stuff's internal, so you should look internal to fix it. If you can't fix it, well,"

She suddenly rested for a moment, her hands touching the ground, soon the presence of incredibly strong energy would emanate from her, like a strong scent that would knock your socks off. Suddenly, pips of green would emerge from the earth, her now slowing and stopping her flow of energy into them.

"Make something new."

She then narrowed her eyes and scrunched her nose, "So are ya here for a therapy sesh or are ya gonna help me out? Either or, I don't gots time to therapy someone and plant shit by myself at once."

He stopped and considered what she said, it was stupid and a waste of time. Why did he come here, to begin with? Did seeing someone break the law bring anything? No, it was a meaningless endeavor for him. His body felt a sensation akin to numbness. As he knelt towards the ground. His hands digging into the soil removing it so she may put her plants. Takehiko didn't know the answer to why he was like this. His eyes looked down motivated but still uncaring. It was a strange sensation feeling ash between his fingers. What made Volcanic Ash emerge and destroy so much of this place. Did he judge the man who came here and did this? It felt pointless to tell her about it. But for some reason, his voice carried the conversation. "They let him out recently, the man who did this." He said his voice carrying its normal monotone. Why was he telling a demon of all people about this? What sense did it make and why would she care? She must have been connected to this place in some sense.

That was the only logical reason she'd come here planting flowers right? No, perhaps she was here for something else. Here to help out her demonic overlords? What was a demonic overlord anyways? A sudden stroke of curiosity hit him about something. What was her world like and was it different from here? Did these plants she brought come from that place? The question brought out his scientist more and interests came. "Do these hail from Demon World, they are mesmerizing. " He said asking his question to her as he looked at the plants. Takehiko wasn't a flower guy, he didn't know all the plants or worlds. His travels had been limited to earth. One trip to Iramasha Island and its domain. But beyond that, he'd not gone far. But it was an interesting trip for what he learned. If this was something from her world and it grew on earth. That could mean many possible things and outcomes. Could things from the Soul Society thrive on earth as well? That was a question that entered his mind almost like a squirrel with extreme ADD.

Takehiko's mouth seemed unable to form a smile now as he looked at the plant studying it. He wouldn't take them not without permission these were brought here. For a purpose and had meaning behind what they were and meant. His gray eyes looked down as his hands moved through the soil. Feeling shards and different sensations across his hands. This experience was a lesson he could apply within the Academy.

Calypso happily and gently planted each seed; She wanted to make sure she at least got the seeds planted, getting grass and flowers back into the area was the bare minimum of importance. Sure if the city was untouched, nature would have trickled back in eventually, but she wanted to something a bit more rapid with recovery...

She hummed softly as she planted clusters of seeds, gifting it with a little bit of her energy so they'd grow a bit quicker and stronger. Sure, anyone unawares would be very confused as to why there was lingering demon energy in the area, but, it wasn't her concern as long as it was allowed to grow. Within her joy did a cold needle strike her senses as the male behind her broke her sense of peace with just one simple sentence...

Suddenly the atmosphere seemed to become heavy, choking even, as Calypso's emotions bubbled to the surface. She had halted, froze for a moment, as she felt herself in that choking landscape of heat and screams once more...

However, the intensity of the atmosphere came as soon as it went, the girl turning around with a smile as she went to fetch a few more seeds, "Oh, is that so?"

She gently stroked some leaves with her fingers, inspecting the potted plants before planting them as to ensure they were all healthy. When asked of the origin of the plants, the demonic woman only tilted her head, "Uhm, no? These are true blue earth plants. I didn't even think to bring anything from Demon World, given our plants could end up being parasitic or otherwise harmful to the area. Best to leave the flora where said flora grows."

She chuckled gently, finishing her little checkup as she went to plant more grass seeds, "Entirely possible that I pick up a plant who's seeds hijack your nervous system or one that just, curses. A lot. Imagine that, a flower cursing you out, pretty funny but not pleasant after 5 minutes."

A clawed hand gently tilled the ground as she looked at the young man, "Well anyway, you seem quite glum, did something happen?"
