It had not been all that long since last Cala, or one of them anyways, had visited Ariadna. Certainly their other half and Ari preferred to talk to one-another and, in their way, got along quite well. Though now, they supposed, it was their time to spend something resembling quality time with her. Setting aside the odd predicament of whether or not Ari would still consider them her little sibling Cala had texted her ahead of time about the prospect of honing their skills. Painting a rather stark contrast in their text history of their other self asking for advice, saying hi, checking in on her.... and then their first text to her being to ask rather bluntly if she would not mind them going all-out against her.
They almost found this amusing, as they knelt atop an empty, desolate mesa somewhat near to Ari's house. At least enough to elicit a small, wry half-grin for the briefest of moments at the thought of how.... odd they were at times. They almost chuckled. But speaking of the moment, for the moment, Cala was knelt atop a mostly flat rock formation that dipped down into a somewhat low set of craggy, rocky hills and valleys. Plenty of tight spaces, plenty of room for clever maneuvering. While on the other side there existed the open, flat expanse of sand one would expect from being near the desert.
Whenever Ari arrived Cala would draw Ceniza and stand, stance casual, before bowing to her if for no other reason than sheer respect for who she was to their other half, trusted and important, but whether or not Ari held them in the same role because they shared a body.... remained to be seen. As such they did not call her onee-chan as their other self did.
"Ariadna, thank you for coming. We are.... sorry about our first correspondence being so odd but..... well.... we do not know if our other self has told you but we have something.... truly precious to us. With events like what is taking place in Africa.... we desire to be able to meet any challenge, for her sake, though....."
Cala paused briefly, head tilting, Ceniza being brandished with fluid intent.
".... for what it is worth you are also important to us and, should the day ever come, we wish to be capable of keeping you safe as well."

An odd request from Ari's meek, recently "adopted" younger sibling, had led the demon out to a mesa near her home; where they could fight or train in ease. This also meant they need not worry about destroying anything of any potential preciousness. Arianda smiled somewhat at the being before her as she landed in a flurry of wings; which soon disappeared into her back. However, the demon tilted her head in interest. It was Cala but... not. Arianda couldn't help but be confused for a few moments, momentarily disregarding the drawn blade before a thought occurred to her. She smiled a tiny bit, her lips twitching with an odd amusement. She pulled a pair of scissors out of her pocket and spun them around her finger by one of the eyes that made up the handle.
"Ah... So you're the odd presence I felt within Cala that day~? Interesting~ Very well, let us see how strong you are..."
Arianda spun the scissors until they grew to be just a little bit bigger than Ari herself, spinning around her wrist now. With a deft movement, she caught the scissors around one of the eyes, and the odd weapon changed into a longsword before Cala's eyes; which the demon held out before her. All the while, a positively frightening presence seemed to bleed out of the demon; even if nothing was honestly bleeding out of Ari.
"But if you wish to be strong enough to be mine, or Saiko's protector, you will have a long way to go, my dear~"
The demon burst forward within a torrent of her own energy, a rather immense puff of dirt breaking away from where she launched from; and came to meet Cala face to face, relatively. With a single strike, at a speed Cala could handle of course, she intended to immediately set the course of their battle. This was a simple test of wills, and a test at just how much Cala had in them; mask or no mask. After all, Arianda may not look it, and she refuses to flaunt it, But she is the Angel of Conflict for a reason.

The figure before Ari would incline their head as Ari smiled and seemed to oblige their request, though their head would tilt, and they would give a small hum as they responded to being referred to as "presence within Cala".
"Perhaps, though we are still of one body dear Ari, if not exactly one mind."
As if proof of this this Cala merely endured the familiar aura of Ari's energy not because it was anything less than terrifying, anything less than making their primal instincts scream to run, but because the only thing they had both come to develop towards Ari more than their primal fear was their trust and love for their big sister. It was due to that trust and love, consequently, that they stabbed Ceniza into the ground before them and decided to hold nothing back. Even informing Ari of such as their robe began to swell ands billow oddly behind them.
"We shall give you all we have, dear sister."
As Ari approached Cala was already responding with a full display of their power and training. Admittedly it was pitiful compared to their sister in most respects though given that Ari was mostly familiar with their other half perhaps the literal WAVE of Fade erupting from within Cala's robes as they raised their forearm to block the incoming strike. Though Cala's energy reserves were miniscule compared to Arianda's their Hierro was frighteningly durable in comparison, enough so that they bore the blow from her with only minor damage to their forearm. That wave of Fade expanding up and around Ariande to the size of a building before coming crashing down towards her even as their forearm began to knit itself with respectable speed.

After her strike, Arianda's energy only grew more putrid and chaotic, as if a hidden element of her energy was now mixing and showing itself; rearing its ugly head as the demon's blade bit into Cala's Hierro. Cracking and tearing the armor like flesh before the demon summoned a shield upon her arm and blocked the initial burst of fade from Cala before Arianda suddenly disengaged and seemed to meld with the shadows as she moved with speed, once more attacking Cala from the side. This time, however, Arianda came in with such killing intent, it could likely be frightening. An expert thrust, intended to pierce Cala's Hierro with force; and, if it did penetrate, wholly intended to miss every single one of Cala's organs in a terrifying display of martial expertise and knowledge of the humanoid body. Afterwards, whether her attack was successful or not, Arianda would draw back her left arm, the one that had the round shield upon it and aim a punch towards Cala's center of mass.
Afterwards, Arianda would disengage and flick whatever blood may lay upon her blade; if any at all did. Frankly speaking, Ari's expertise and precision alone was likely terrifying enough. But that one stab alone, if it had been completely successful, was likely an indicator of her intentions. She wouldn't kill Cala, of course she wouldn't. Her skill and speed was more than enough to keep her from accidentally harming Cala too much. However, she was fully intent on making Cala push themselves to the max.
"If you wish to give me your all, Cala. Then you must push me. Push me to using my release just to crush you, make me think that I need such a powerful advantage to win; push me into a corner as if your life were on the line. Perhaps a night with your dear sister will become appropriate if you push me hard enough... But you have to give me everything; show me everything."
Arianda smiled some as she pointed her longsword at Cala, the shield on her arm shifting gently until it was a kite shield. She smiled some at Cala, now waiting for whatever the Arrancar would use as a retort. After all, Arianda was ready for Cala's everything if need be. And she would show no mercy in her retorts.

This Cala did not feel their emotions as strongly as a normal being, but they respected fear enough to still primally recognize the energy Ari revealed to them as something beyond them, and their form tensed in subconscious apprehension. Their arm bore the blow of Ari's strike about as well as could be expected from someone with mountains more energy to put into it, but they held strong, their flesh tearing just a tiny bit at what was becoming a truly ferocious Hierro on Cala's part for how strong they were, but Cala's true gem in this fight came rom Ari deflecting and shoving aside the building's worth of Fade which was not the first wave.... it was all Cala could summon at once.
While this was, in it's own way, disheartening, it also allowed them to take a massive, to their perception anyways, draw on Ari's energy and fuel themselves back through the ash-like substance. Their next move came about only, and truly only, out of a mixture of this newfound energy source and their trust in Ari. Cala did not block the stab, much as it may have made their senses scream at them to dodge, as the only voice louder than their internal primal fear was their trust in her, even in this form, and so as Ari moved in for her stab Cala retaliated with a specially designed Cero. Ari would punch through the Hierro as she intended, biting deep into Cala's body and drawing their blood from a wound that was deep but superficial. Something for Cala's regeneration to work on as Cala gathered the mass of black energy, surrounded by a corona of white,
Cala's retort came not in the form of a verbal word, but instead of the calling card of a Cero, a jet of obsidian energy like that of a black hole. Seemingly surrounded and orbited by flecks of white light. This Cero, however, would do nothing to Ari's physical body should it make contact. No instead this Cero was designed wholly to force Cala's aspect onto another individual. Burdened with a crippling, cold allure like the unseen hand of titanic gravity the aspect of Loss would scythe into Ari's Willpower, a nearly pure expression of what defined Cala in a way that was overwhelming whether she held back or not. In this instance Cala had decided to inflict Loss upon Ari's speed, briefly malaising her mind and tearing away memories of more advanced forms of movement, more efficient ways to move her body, and generally stripping her of the most advanced techniques she knew for maintaining her speed.
This Cero had barely been fired before Cala did step back, hissing as the wound in their side began to slowly knit itself shut, and the building-sized mass of Fade coiled around them like a sphere of serpents as it fed energy back into Cala, taken from Ari, sustaining the regeneration at their full rate while keeping Cala topped up on energy so that when Cala's Sonido carried them closed, their free hand scooping a handful of Fade onto their arm as they moved, Cala moved with full swiftness and swept their free arm at Ari. Using the ash-like substance to attempt to blind her or at least obscure her vision at they delivered a stab toward the leg opposite of her shield, aiming for her thigh specifically as it would be place incredibly inconvenient to guard with the shield.

An involuntary snarl escaped the demon's mouth as Cala's fade had torn away a shred of her energy, temporarily reducing her own reserves before she had been completely severed by them. The demon snarled once again. Indeed, she couldn't rely on blocking in this case. All of which would simply be circumnavigated by the fact that all she had to do was move faster than Cala. Frankly speaking, such a thing was both easily said and easily done, the demon adjusting the grip upon her longsword as she kept it stabbed into Cala. The tiniest bit of remorse echoed inside her brain before she saw the amassing energy that was Cala's retort. The demon grimaced upon seeing the Cero and, in an obvious assault. With a rather ravenous kick, Arianda shoved Cala away from her while also Yanking the blade out of the Arrancar roughly. Without a single ilm of hesitation, Arianda used the full range of her speed to avoid Cala's specialized Cero.
Of course, once the demon and Cala were once face to face again, Arianda couldn't help but marvel a small bit at energy that Cala had amassed around them; at least before the demon cried out a tiny bit from being suddenly blinded. Eyes held tightly shut, the demon grimaced as she felt her thigh impaled by a blade. The demon grunted in pain. However, with speed and strength, Arianda turned her longsword into a dagger, which she used to fully impale into Cala's arm; using the ranges of her strength with the full intention to pierce Cala's arm through. Afterwards, the demon's left arm shot out and grabbed Cala by the neck.
Blood oozing from her damaged thigh, the demon's grip on their throat and neck wasn't deadly; but tight enough to be concerning. Arianda grinned some, a wrenching of her leg tearing whatever it was that Cala used to stab her thigh. At least before it healed up with speed, even as Ari's blood had spattered the ground generously; but the way the wound knitted itself together which such speed would likely be a bit jarring for Cala. At the same time, the surface of Arianda's eyes seemed to bubble and boil before two odd globs of flesh mixed with the ash, and fade, Cala had blinded with was seemingly purged from her eyes; falling onto the ground harmlessly. And it was very easy to see that her eyes were fine now, no longer blinded by Cala's ashy fade.
"I see... I was too easy on you..."
Arianda wrenched her dagger out of Cala's arm and proceeded to punch Cala in the chest with withering force; with the intent to break only their hierro and cause very little to none internal damage. After all, internal bleeding was a pain in the ass to regenerate even for beings of their capability. After the attack hopefully knocked Cala back, Arianda dragged her left hand across her eyes, clearing away the ash that had blinded her briefly. Afterwards, the demon spun the dagger in her hand until it had become a greatsword. She swung the blade easily before her and then peered at Cala; an odd glint in her eyes.
"Prepare yourself, Cala... If you wish to be strong enough to protect me, then you must go through hell."
Arianda seemed to meld with the shadows as she moved towards Cala with intense speed, and then proceeded to deliver a harsh pattern of complicated techniques. Feints to the fatal parts of the body that turned into strikes to the arm, leg, stomach, and even a few to Cala's chest. She delivered stabs meant to crush Cala's hierro, slashes to cut it apart, and strikes with the side of the blade to crack said Hierro mercilessly. Her entire intention was to keep Cala regenerating while also doing her best to avoid contact with his fade; whenever she could. If it was to bleed her energy, all she would need to do is completely avoid it or force the Arrancar before her to tire before the energy can be fully replenished. At the very least, she refused to use her release... That increase in her own powers alone would be far too much for Cala; even if Ari already was a bit too much for Cala when she was serious. Really, she needed to get back to some better training to refine herself better. Limited options are boring, but conflict? Oh how it called to this fallen angel. She knew one thing, at least... Once she had the chance, it was time to rediscover herself. But, perhaps that would come after she beat the heck out of her sibling here.

Cala would hiss a rather feral noise as the dagger was plunged through their Hierro and their arm in one firm strike, feeling the bone break and flesh be rent caused Cala's fangs to be bared and energy to flare in primal revulsion. That hiss would be cut short by the grip to their throat, Cala's senses spiraling around and among the two entities as if searching their two bodies for something to leverage for their advantage. As Ari ripped Ceniza from her own leg Cala had already begun to have the building's worth of Fade they summoned earlier surge up towards them. Cala had even begun to gather a Cero into their choked mouth when Ari's eyes.... melted?
This made even this side of Cala pause in concern for her. Though once it was revealed to be a trick of Ari's own to keep them clear Cala did not have the time to begin gathering the Cero again when they brought Ceniza up defensively between them. Not quite intended to put it near where Ari aimed her punch and more of a failed swipe at the arm currently choking them quite firmly. Thankfully for Cala it made blocking the punch aimed at their abdomen easy and, in fact not what Cala wanted, they had blocked the blow on the edge of their blade rather than the flat of it. But even this sent Cala staggering back into their own mass of Fade that had now reached the two of them.
With that flow of Fade around them Cala nodded at Ari's words and, inhaling deeply, knelt and plunged Ceniza into the ground as Ari moved forwards. That Fade that had gathered all around them beginning to compress and form itself into a spiderweb of spiked wires, criss-crossing and layering the space between the two of them. All but now formed into barbed wire the Fade would keep a few connections attached to Cala as the Arrancar began firing Ceros from their mouth at Ari. Using what remained of the energy gathered earlier from Ari herself to keep the barrage of Cero up continuously as the Fade constricted itself into web too small for their physical bodies to move through. Cala did not, in fact, do much to attempt to block Ari's initial strikes and, instead moved backwards so that the mass of draining Fade parted to let them pass, but would close and form itself into a thorned web at Ari's approach. That incessant barrage of obsidian and white cero never ceasing in barraging Ari every second or so, none of them carrying all Cala could put into them and, instead, they focused on quantity over quality.

Frankly speaking, things were going relatively okay. Aside from the fact that she had briefly marred her fist rather beautifully when Cala accidentally blocked her punch with the flat of their blade, things went relatively alright! At least until the web of fade started to build from Cala's actions. The demon could do nothing more than follow Cala into their web of energy draining fade; as long as she touched it or it touched her at least. Arianda snarled silently while she chased after Cala; eventually forced to perform evasive maneuvers around the web of fade. However, every time Arianda jumped around the area, she twisted and manipulated her body to avoid the webs of fade, adjusting herself with the flexibility of a master; while also using her possessive shifting to compensate for what her body couldn't do even with it's impressive flexibility. Along with that, the demon was depending on hardened platforms of energy to move around the area instead of stepping upon the fade or the ground. She was in a state of refusing to let Cala drain her energy where possible. The entire time she was avoiding Cala's cero, her superior speed, and shadow movement, allowing her to barely avoid their barrages.
She flited around the cage like a bird, her greatsword forgotten in her hands briefly. Until, eventually, she gained an infinitesimal amount of time to shift her greatsword to a Katana; one which was now sheathed at her hip. With her left hand on the sheath of the weapon, it's crimson red tsuba glowing eerily in the area. Arianda soon began to move in patterns, intended to force Cala to follow her in those patterns so she could create an opening for herself. Eventually, the demon would find the moment in which she could act. Resigning herself to needing to interact with the ground, Arianda smashed a fist into the fade and ground below with the full intention to blow the fade away in a display of pure force. With a snarl, Arianda seemed to grab something within the ground. The ground trembled in protest as the demon tore out a rock about the size of a car. A war-like battle-cry tore from Arianda as she hurled the rock at Cala with all her strength; intending to use the rock as a distraction from her real attack.
With the rock thrown, Arianda took off from the ground, pouring a bit of energy into her movements as she took off again, running behind the rock in order to cover her movements. Right before the rock would be hit by Cala, or blocked, Arianda would use a swift, well placed kick to destroy the rock in a blinding shower as Arianda utilized her shadow movement to move behind Cala in a burst of sudden speed. Emerging from the shadows, or so it seemed, behind Cala the demon seemed far more threatening than normal. The glow in her eyes, the way the silver appeared more red depending on the shade of light, and especially the way Arianda was carrying herself... If Arianda had been scary before, she was terrifying now. Pure killing intent bled from the demon as if from an open wound. Her thumb pushed on the tsuba of her Katana, breaking the seal on the weapon before she tore it out of its sheath in a fantastic display of Iaijutsu. And then came a masturful slash that was aimed for Cala's back. The wound, if it landed, would be shallow enough to not be life-threatening, but it would hurt more than enough. Afterwards, Arianda would follow up with another strike, now using both hands that was intended to complete an X slash across Cala's back. Of course, Arianda was still attacking within the general 'just above' Cala's level of speed; attempting to make sure the Arrancar had to push themselves hard to keep up.
Afterwards, Arianda would kick backwards off of a patch of solidified energy in the air; flipping backward and landing on the air, Katana ready... Cala had done it, at the very least... They had brought the Angel of Conflict back in truth; and she was terrifying.

As Ari flitted around the caged field of Fade Cala's fangs and the air around their mouth sung with pure white sparks of energy. Cero raining from their fanged maw in a hail of power, constantly fed by Ari's own potent energy only now just barely dwindling, the Fade having once been full to bursting of energy. Cala, noticing the patterns Ari moved in, stalled their Cero-firing for a moment as Ari slammed herself down willing into the Fade beneath her. Even the brief moments she had let it brush her just barely, or now in the case of slamming her whole energy-laden fist into it, were only the most minor touches. Were Ari near Cala's level these would have been small 'bites' of energy, barely enough to replenish a series of Bala for Cala, but given the massive gulf in their energy level even these small bites were enough to fill Cala and their Fade to the brim.
Naturally as they had done earlier Cala moved back through their field of Fade away from Ari, creating a bit more distance before Ari tore up the earth itself, and Cala grit their fangs. Becoming as prepared as they could Cala knew they had no hope of replicating that show of strength or, as Ari threw it at Cala as hard as she could, that they could really stop it at all. Acting immediately Cala turned their head down and fired a Cero into the earth, dropping themselves into a hole in the ground even as their Pesquisa told them Ari was... following the boulder? Not having MUCH time to even ponder this Cala could still "see" Ari shatter the boulder in a display of energy and shower of rubble.
As Ari stepped behind where Cala had been well.... they were not there. Instead a spear of Fade would lance at Ari from behind as Cala charged a Cero from within the ground and, aiming their mouth up at a diagonal angle toward Ari, poured almost everything they could into one blast that would have a smaller, but similar, effect to Ari's antics with the boulder. Blowing apart the earth in a blinding display that did not blind Cala whatsoever while their obsidian-and-white Cero tore up the earth between them. Cleaving the ground into a ramp Cala's Sonido would carry them up, Ceniza drawn back, as they aimed an adept stab for Ari's neck. Not intending to fully cleave her head from her shoulders, absolutely not, but only half-cut the regenerating demoness's neck while they simultaneously had their Fade reattach to their free arm to begin feeding energy back into them to recover from that Cero. Their Hierro only marginally recovered even as their flesh struggled to knit beyond "barely usable" at this point thanks to the reserves Ari had provided early on to fuel their regeneration. A single, lowly hissed sentence growling from Cala's lips in a strange tone both firmly defiant, almost angry, and strangely..... fond of her?
"We will honor your efforts Arianda, in every way we can!"

Truly, Cala's fade was quite annoying for the demon. Draining bites of her energy and pouring them back into the Arrancar before her... it really was quite annoying. However, Arianda still did her best to avoid touching Cala's fade when possible. Except for her spectacular boulder attack that would've been actually spectacular of it had worked. Instead, Arianda had moved behind where Cala was, unable to lay their back open with an attack. Instead, she was forced to wheel around and chop the spear of fade, that was coming to impale her, directly in half so it parted around her. However, the demon soon was forced to wheel around when a white obsidian cero tore through the ground, with Arianda summoning her Tulpa reflexively to protect herself from the cero; causing a parting of the cero around her shield as the demon endured the withering assault. Soon, however, Cala was approaching Ari rapdily.
The demon watched as Cala approached, holding her Katana with her right hand as Cala came in for a stab. She saw the attack coming, and, with a grim smile, let the stab blow; the blade sailing through her throat, jugular veins, and stopping halfway through. Even as blood poured from Ari's laid open neck, and bubbled up around the corners of her grim smile, the demon's left hand jumped to Cala's sword hand and held it tight; blood gently leaking from Cala's hands as the demon grew pointed fingernails that she forced into Cala's hand. She refused to let them move the sword even as her neck caused blood to pour down her front. However, with an evil sneer, Arianda gave Cala a wink as if to say "she was going to offer the same honors".
And then, while Cala's free arm melded with their fade, intending to bleed more energy from the pool that was their power, Arianda's blade flew in a flash of red and silver; moving at a speed faster than Cala could potentially react to. The entire purpose of the action was to lock Cala down, and then, while doing so, cut off their arm with a deft strike from below; separating Cala's contact with their fade. Of course, Arianda knew they could regenerate their arm... Shit, if the arm wasn't destroyed should be able to stick it back on. However, that didn't stop Ari from being particularly brutal in answer to Cala's efforts. Eventually, Arianda gave a ferocious yank at Cala's sword hand, forcing the blade that was stuck in her neck out of it, causing one last additional spurt of blood before Arianda's neck sealed up, and the demon spat blood; growling a tiny bit in a very similar way to Cala's own growling words.
"And I offer the same to you, my dear sibling~"
