Fuck. Well, this was a problem now, wasn't it. Unlike most of these types, Alex couldn't just decide to hit the air and fly whenever he felt like it. A rockslide like this was going to be a fucking problem, honestly more than the explosion itself. He had to think fast, and the odds were pretty fucking good that "beating the shit out of this hollow" was no longer a valid decision when it came to staying alive.
He found the nearest sliding rock, empowering his leg with as much heat as he could. He was taking it out of commission for any good kicks, but the alternative was dying, so he'd manage. He kicked off with as much force as he could manage, the heat exploding outward and propelling him straight into the new side of the hole. He'd have to climb back up, but at least he wasn't dead now.
Fuck. That'd hurt. Nothing to do now but climb, and hope Elyss could cover things until he got back up there.

He's fine.
Elyss didn't think about Alex as the ground begin collapsing back into the large hole the Hollow are emerging from. She knows he's capable of handling himself. Right now, she's the only one capable of dealing with the bird before it could regenerate.
With a deep breath, she aimed herself, energy flowing through her legs before she dashed, the air behind her popping. Launched into the hole, she raced right towards the Hollow's face, fists already closed and cocked. Punch after punch would follow, blow after blow with only one thought in the redhead's mind.
Break that mask into splinters and kill this damn thing.

A feral scream from the bird as it took into the open air, spiraling downward with remarkable speed. The shinigami followed with dogged perseverance, hollow's eyes turning to focus on her.
The impact made little effect on the mask, repeated blows causing cracks to start along the beast's jaw. Spiderweb became fissure as they continued into the infinite black - and wings beat in turn.
Feathers in the air as the bird flew back into Elyss, aiming to bite down on her before rushing back to the surface. Any continued assault would be suffered with little consequence as it breached the sky, the air screaming underneath.

As Alex wrenched himself back over the edge of the pit, he could only scowl as he looked upward at the Hollow, and his younger sister, both careening through the air. He didn't know how to fly, wasn't quite a trick he'd picked up over the years traveling, so he was gonna have to make do down here on the solid ground.
Well, he could do that. Prying up another slab of the ground below, Alex angled it in the general direction of Elyss and the bird. She was definitely getting caught in this crossfire too, but hey, she'd handled everything else so far, and it wasn't like he was gonna do anything more useful.
After a few moments to warm up, his fists quickly rising to extreme temperatures, Alex's fist shot toward the rock he'd pulled up, punching through it and shooting only a small part of it toward the airborne beast. One blow was quickly followed up by another, and then a flurry of blows created a rapid-fire assault of searingly hot stone rocketing upward toward the beast. Given how hot it was, it'd probably shatter on impact, which was honestly probably the ideal outcome. Call it an improvised flak cannon.

Guess the answer to this equation is to hit harder. Unfortunately, she's missing a constant: the ground. Without anything stable underneath her feet, her fists are as good as dry sand. Jumping off crossed her mind, but she knows she doesn't have the speed to keep up with the Hollow, so hanging on is all she can do.
Of course, it occurred to her to aim for its wings, but with how fast it regenerates, that'd just postpone the inevitable. Without a true way to kill this thing, it's going to keep on resetting any progress back to zero. Frustration on her face, Elyss pondered on what to do, but that's when the sky around her popped.
Eh?! Alex?! Well, she's not particularly scared of exploding, but she'd like a warning next time. As whatever he's throwing their way soared on by, Elyss simply braced herself for the scorching pain to come.
