First Day On The Job, Chanced Meeting?

Karakura was a city where the buildings reached for the heavens, and not an inch of them was covered in darkness. Vehicles whizzed back and forth through the air as monotonously as the clouds hung in the sky to blot out what could be a beautiful field of stars. It was windy, chilly in the breeze as those who chose travel by foot had their hair billow about in the influence of the element, clothes rustling in agitation. Yet inside was an entirely different story—heated rooms and soundproof walls, lukewarm drinks and good vibes to go all around. At least in Hanako's Pub one could pick an open seat to sit down and relax in, forgetting what worries may lie beyond the confines of the building. It was a humble building for what magnificence could be displayed elsewhere in the modern metropolis, but those within would not complain when the service was so cordial. The little bar had a community all its own, with tightly-knit relationships and friendly atmosphere. It was a guaranteed good time for a simple man or a simple woman, and that's why that even above other bars, Hanako's stood out as the best among them.

The rumbling of conversation filled the room from corner to corner as the dominant sound, yet despite its volume it felt like background noise to replace the sounds of the concrete jungle just outside. Among this was the clinking of glasses,on the bar-side of the pub where the day's server collected the customers' drinks as they finished with them. One could also hear the occasional grinding of wood against the floor when people got in and out of their seats, as well as the even more infrequent ringing of the bell as someone entered through the front door. It was a cacophony of sound, and yet it was more calming than classical music for the people here. The bartender, in specific, was uplifted by her work if only because the place had such a positive ambiance. Her toothy white smile contrasted well against the dark chocolate skin she possessed, as she deftly sweeped up empty glasses and took them all to be washed with ease. She listened for the keywords and watched for the telltale signals, just for the challenge of being on top of her task here and serving drinks at record time here at Hanako's Pub. The violet-haired woman was only a temporary substitute, but she executed the job like a veteran, using her inhuman dexterity to serve drinks like no bartender ever has.

Yoruichi's voice was voluminous and clear cut among the others as she chose to hold small talk with those who wished, fitting in grandly with newcomers and regulars alike. She received much positive feedback in return, and there was no animosity present here at the bar. It was funny really, that someone as irresponsible and averse to work as the Shihouin Princess should take such a liking to her task... yet to her it didn't feel like a task. Here she was in her orange and black casuals, smiling as she wiped down the counter or filled a drink up for someone other than herself. There was nothing about this that made Yoruichi force herself to work; it was a good time and a good experience, infinitely more entertaining than filling out needless paperwork (The task she was oh so used to). Now, she did find a lull in her work as quite a few of the bar stools were vacated at once by a party of several, and others were entrenched in conversations with others. She'd take advantage of it for a little bit of relaxation, just overwatching the busy place with her vibrant amber eyes. There was a thought that popped into her head as she observed it, causing her to chuckle to herself under her breath:

Well, it's certainly a step up from Urahara's dump.

It was just another day of work and play for the Iramasha male, Azure was silently making his way through the busy streets of Karakura as he thought to himself. The weather was absolutely perfect for summer, the night sky was quite calm other than the normal clouds that hung around karakura at all times it seemed. Along with that there had been no serious problems since Haku tried killing everyone at that Donation Event that was being held the other night. Obviously, Azure took care of this situation quickly. It was such a nice day, and to be quite honest Azure could think of nothing that could ruin such a day. No fights, no wars, no blood. It was nice to not have to go around, beating the shit out of people to keep the streets safe for a change.

Azure yawned, smacking open the door to a small pub as a few patrons that were previously drinking turned to him and smiled. "Yo, everyone!" The male waved as others in the bar waved back and began to say hi. The pub was none other than Hanako's very own, his sister in-law. Usually, Azure visited this place after a hard days work, but today was a special occasion. Today marked a year with the Yayjuu, and tat was an accomplishment that Azure thought as proud to drink to. The atmosphere to the pub was the same as always, friendly talking, the smell of beer and food, and the patrons that were probably everyday visitors at this point. Azure knew everyone here quite too well, that is, everyone but the bartender it seemed.

Taking a seat at the bar itself, Azure placed his elbows on the counter and leaned forward just slightly. For some odd reason, he was quite focused on the woman behind the bar, constantly handing out drinks and collecting empty glasses from patrons that had already left. Previously, he had heard of a woman like this. Dark, violet hair that reached down her back, stopping about halfway down, bright amber eyes that could be seen from a mile away.. quite cat like eyes, actually. Azure has only ever heard of one person that resembled such a look, but to refrain from being wrong he simply sat back and watched her work away. An hour or so passed, the pub had begun to draw to a small group of people as most parties left at this time of night, but more would be on there way. Always those late night drinkers that want something from Hanako.

Waving his hand, Azure motioned for the bartender to hand him a drink. "A simple beer will be fine." These were the only words that Azure had spoken, leaning back once more as the seats beside him began to grow emptier and emptier.

First Day On The Job, Chanced Meeting?

The tawny-skinned woman was just scrubbing circles around a tall beer glass when the call came out, a middle-toned voice forming a very commonplace phrase just as her head turned his direction. Yeap, one of the signals she was out on the watch for as she observed the entirety of the room before her. Offering a warm smile to the new customer as he motioned for her attention, Yoruichi would nod to show she had acknowledged his request and would use the newly-cleaned glass to fill up his drink under the proper fountain head. Such a simple order was easy to fulfill, and she had the beverage slid his way in a matter of seconds without spilling a drop. Given not much other action was occuring at the time and there were plenty of polished cups by now, Yoruichi would throw her weight on her arms as she planted them forward onto the bar, craning her head over to the slender redhead. Frustratingly—and embarrassingly—her bangs would fall right in front of her face to block her view, to which she responded to by blowing them away with a puff of breathe and trying to play it off with a lighthearted laugh. Hell, maybe he wouldn't notice while he was dealing with his drink, but chances were slim.

Irregardless of the fact, the Shihouin would flow right into a casual chat as she had been with others for the entire night. She chose to speak not because he stood out—even with the spiritual pressure he was appearing to exude—but because it came naturally in Yoruichi's antics. "Eya, are you a regular here Ginger? Saw you come in with a flourish. Then, you piped down and just sat and stared at me before deciding you wanted a drink. Something... catch your eye?" She winked her eye with a tilt of her head, clearly hinting at something suggestive with her playful tone at the end. She kept it blithe, not indicating that there was more involved in it than a little joke, yet still her observation was not off. There was not a moment the veteran Shinigami was not aware of her surroundings, even when it would appear she wasn't paying attention; One could say she was catlike in that way. It was too easy to play that card, and get a good reaction out of him as a result of her jaunt. It was almost a pastime for her. And afterward, they could get past it and into an actual conversation. The night was still young and ripe for it, so why not?

Turning his head gently to the left, Azure continued to fixate on the Woman that stood behind the counter. She was slowly making her way over to where the alcohol was stored in a large container underneath the bar, pouring Azure a drink and sliding the glass down his way. Stopping the glass directly in front of himself, Azure lifted it and took a last look at the woman who now leaned forward against the counter. She should know better, Azure thought, it was obvious that if she leaned forward her hair would get in the way. Taking a swig from the glass he now had in his hand, Azure peaked to the left just slightly to watch the woman now puff, in what seemed to be an annoyed fashion, a blast of air from her mouth against her bangs. He was smart enough to know that her bangs were too long to lean against the counter, and for some completely odd reason Azure could not help but laugh. The woman was quite the show, and he had only been in the bar for awhile now, this would turn out to be a fun night it seemed.

"Eya, are you a regular here Ginger? Saw you come in with a flourish. Then, you piped down and just sat and stared at me before deciding you wanted a drink. Something... catch your eye?" Azure almost spat out the alcohol that he had just taken into his mouth, his throat seizing up quickly as he tried to keep himself from breaking down into a giggle fit. It was odd, the purple haired woman speaking to Azure as if they were just two normal people, having a normal time at a bar in Downtown Karakura, on a completely average night. it's sad really, Azure thought, he knew that this was a completely incorrect statement, both her and himself being of two insane power levels. It was incredibly obvious actually, her masked Spiritual Pressure was something that only a Captain could have. No, that wasn't quite right... she was definitely as strong as he was, there was no doubt about that. Even if this were true, Azure did not come here to fight or spar with a powerful opponent, he simply came here to drink and have fun. Placing his glass down, he swallowed the now flat beer, turning to her with a soft smile on his face. "If you think something has caught my eye, that'd be fine I suppose. And no, I'm not a regular here but I do happen to come to Karakura quite a lot, I have a job here with the Yayjuu. And if I may say, you aren't too bad looking. I've seen quite a lot worse than yourself." He smirked now, picking up the glass once more as he took yet another drink, Azure knew it'd be a fun night.

First Day On The Job, Chanced Meeting?

She was oh-too-glad to watch the spittake she had instigated, and quite flamboyantly joined in with a chuckle or two as one of her hands automatically reached for her rag. She wasn't so much forced, but it was her duty now; she brought the white towel along with as she sashayed over toward the redhead, her long ponytail swishing back and forth with the rhythm of her stroll. It was a short distance before she was in front of him just across the counter, still holding that happy smile. Then, bringing attention to the rag she would reach forward to wipe down some of the spittle that the man had most unintentionally and unceremoniously let leak out of his mouth as he tried to keep from entirely spewing it out. She tried to make the situation as awkward for him as possible while he tried swallowing what was left of his sip. With one small circle, Yoruichi would leave the bar spotless once again and then toss the rag aside without looking, conveniently landing it on the counter behind her. Yet another display of the woman's inhuman dexterity, as if her own aura was not telltale enough. There was a moment of graceless silence, but eventually he would get over it well enough to respond.

Once all the liquid in his mouth was finally drained, he would place his cup down gently as if afraid dropping it too fast would shatter it into pieces. He offered a cute smile, and managed to rangle up an retort for her. It wasn't so much a snappy counter, but simply an informative answer. Well, Yoruichi would close her eyes and snicker as she realized he was too nice a fellow for that kind of witty banter, her frame barely visibly vibrating in cause of it. "All right, all right," she uttered through the light laughter, cutting the man off just before he could finish his compliment all the way. It was not that she was overly flattered; rather, it's just that he didn't need to go on for the keen woman to know what he was getting at. Changing expressions to show she was at least genuinely appreciative of the compliment, her face softened and her tone rose. "Thanks. Flattery never goes wrong with me, so thanks. Still, regular or not it's good for me to know the names of Hanako's customers. My name's Yoruichi." With the revelation of her name, she held out her delicate hand to shake just as a formality in greeting someone.

After those niceties were done with whether he accepted them or didn't, Yoruichi would hear another call for a drink a little ways down the bar, which she would get right on. Still, juggling work and chatter with ease, she would hold the conversation still even as she turned around and started messing with the glasses and beer fountains. "So you're with the Yayjuu, huh? I've heard of them before, full of those hybrids... I just don't know much else past that. Exactly what does having a job there consist of, if you don't mind me asking?" As she finished with her question, she turned back around and placed a now full glass on the bar counter, a cloud of foam just on the verge of spilling over the top, and yet not managing to. With relative ease and a decent amount of precision, Yoruichi would slide the glass toward the awaiting customer's hands with one single push, and then refocus on the redhead she was having a conversation with as the feat was no big deal. This time she crossed her arms and leaned back on the counter behind her, just relaxing as they spoke.
