Artist:Darkness OST - Song:Darkness - Word Count: 2282
The despair that lined Hell itself would only grow. In the crimson sky above, a single line forged in the abyss. The sound of space itself being torn apart rippled from above. The small cut expanded, evolving into a gash, a bleeding wound in the fabric of space itself. A powerful presence spilled out from it, washing over the already confused and upheavaled lands below. Just as things seemed like they couldn't become any dire? It became a lot worse. The fissure grew, only an endless void of unfathomable darkness lingered inside of it.The garganta, the staple of Hollow and Arrancar kind that had become so much less frequent in the recent years. A symbol that used to represent and foretell of destruction, but faded into obscurity since the rise of Demon kind and the great war. It was time for that symbol to mean something again with the rise of a new monarch, a creature that represented the terror of Hollow kind, the potential of their race and the horrors it could bring upon the world of the living and the damned!
A mass of contorting limbs and bodies erupted from the gaping tear in reality. Dozens of hollows squeezed together in a chaotic mess, each fighting tooth and nail with their own kind to escape the gateway and descend upon the burning nation below. It was immediately apparent that these were no ordinary Hollows either. The thick energy that resonated from them was too potent and twisted, corrupted and enhanced by another force all-together. Even with the small number stretching the garganta even wider, the amount of energy surging from inside was enough to compare with a moderate army. As the first beast slipped through the cracks, it would be apparent why.
Each and every one of them was mutated, black reptilian scale-like armor shrouding their flesh like a tight coat that fused into their flesh. Their muscles were visible, given an odd coloration that changed from one creature to the next. Some crimson, some green, even white and gray. These creatures began to pour down upon the nation like rain. There were only a little over a dozen, but unlike the traditional fodder, most were used to dealing with? Each of these abominations was a powerhouse of their own accord. Even with most of them just being gilian, their strength could easily compare to the strongest of Menos Grande, and even lower level Adjuhas. on their own. They excelled most in their raw tenacity and physical might. Their will to feast and devour had been amplified a hundred fold! They rushed into the fray, intent on ripping apart and consuming anyone and everyone that dared to cross them! Some would even fight amongst themselves to determine who would finish off certain prey. The madness below only intensified with this new element, the small number f Hollows easily making large impacts in each district of the nation.
But the worst was yet to come...
The dense spiritual pressure inside the rift remained, the light echo of footsteps coming from inside. The last thing to exit the rift? A shinigami of all things! It was a figure adorned in a black overcoat with long black hair..A man with a metalic visor resting around their eyes and an overpowering sense of not just malice and killer intent, but pure wickedness and spite toward existence itself! They were well endowed, sporting considerable muscle that lined their arms and legs. The look had been toned down quite a bit compared to the roid-rage like form the body took in its last debut, but its strength remained well showcased. The lone man took in a deep breath, taking in the smell of fire and brimstone and taking in the sights of the madness below. It was a great thing to be introduced to. Their zanpakto rested comfortably at their hip, sheathed and ready to be drawn at a moment's notice.
However, despite quite clearly being a Shinigami standing among a horde of Hollows and the damned? Their energy seemed much...Different. It most closely fit that of a Hollows bound in a death god's flesh but was much heavier and demented...It was as if one of their kind had reached a new level all-together, something greater than Vasto Lordes that completely eclipsed any Hollow that came before it! Their attention lingered on their pets below. Monsters roamed the hellscape, devouring demons and anything else unfortunate enough to be there alike. Attacks barely cut through their thick skin and the raw speed and bloodlust that exhibited with every movement was greater than anything most could expect from such ordinarily weak creatures. It was nice to see them feast and live the life they were intended to for once...Not as evil beings, a force of darkness, slaves, soldiers, or anything of the sor. They were pure and simply monsters. Creatures that lived only for their instincts, to breed chaos, destruction, and anguish with no ends to their means! Creatures that would just as soon turn on one another at the drop of a hat for their own benefit. That was the true nature of hollows. Monsters that lived solely for their own impulses and desires and ravaged anything that got in the way of that!
And Ruvik was no exception...
The Hollow King would not only allow his kind to live as they were intended but push them into the limelight and restore the fear and terror they brought about to the world. And the first step was the slaughter of some of the very creatures that stole from them the reputation they once had...The Demons, the new grand evil that had eclipsed the role of his kind for hundreds of years now. It was an utter delight to see the lesser vermin fall to the might of a true rampage, the beasts continuing on their charge relentlessly! Without tire, without words, just death and punishment for those dared to oppose them! Most of them would die today, overcome by the vastly greater number of the Demons they opposed, as well as any real threats that made themselves known...But that was more than fine. So long as they made their mark and struck terror into the hearts of their competition!
But the newest throne did have a job to do still. After getting his fill of the mayhem below, the monarch stepped out of the rift. A strange black material gathered at their feet, acting as a platform and allowing them to walk amid the sky itself. The rift in space quickly closed behind them, sealing the gateway between the two Hells. They began to walk toward the main event, taking their time as they overlooked the madness. The darkness moved at their beck and call, matching their every step in the arc of a stairway. Slowly the man descended, approaching the one that orchestrated this entire event and called upon his unholy influence. Inami...While they'd seldom met, he had heard of the woman quite often in the past. Such an interesting character...He could only wonder if anyone else of interest would appear to entertain him..Or maybe even offer him an extra prize for joining this battlefield. The black energy dissipated when the Shinigami's feet finally touched the ground. Reasonably a few Demons were already close by. The anomaly standing before them certainly didn't have a place here, and with the beasts that were unleashed upon them from the very same gateway? They were certain to be ready to attack.
Only, they should have been thinking more about defending themselves. The figure raised their finger in the Demon's general direction. The small collective were gathering their own strengths, ready to try and fend off this secondary invader. Crimson energy built along his fingertip, coming together in a perfect circle that expanded rapidly. It was a familiar technique, the fearsome cero that was another trademark of the Hollow race...Yet to be used so freely by a Shinigami? Not even a Vaizard that had dawned their mask? It could catch anyone off-guard, especially with how fast it charged. it only took a fraction of a second before an enormous ball rested at the end of their hand.
An explosion of red erupted from it, darting right for the dozens of soldiers that were moments from attacking. It enveloped all of them, a truly enormous cero encompassing the few directly in its path and continuing onward for a considerable distance! The few demons in its way were completely vaporized, only their dismembered feet left on the scorched ground that was narrowly out of range, The blast continued onward, destroying everything it touched without a trace. Creatures that were scraped by it had entire limbs dissolved. Buildings near it were dissolved, and when it finally hit the ground? An explosion rocked the entire town. Flames began to rise up, toxic fumes and raging flames spilling into the streets and washing over friends and enemies alike! Even some of the Hollows he just unleashed were caught up in it, their reptilian skin scarred and burned without a second thought!
Lowering their finger, the Shinigami puppet made their way to the main group up ahead. Their visor carefully scanned everything around them, including Inami herself. He smiled, catching a glimpse of the former capital reduced to nothing but ash and rubble. The thick energy radiating from her and the destruction she bent at her will.It was lovely...Amusing at the least. The creature finally spoke, coming to a stop just a dozen feet away from his partner for the evening. Words gently rolled off the puppet's tongue, tainted with only the slightest traces of distortion.
Throughout the entire area, buildings started to fall and crumble, The monsters he let loose were ravaging anyone and anything they got close to. Demons either working for Inami or against her, structures feeble and strong. All of it was fair game when it came to the unpredictable and destructive force of his Hollows. By the end of the night? This city would bathe in red, severed limbs and the crushed chewed up remains of those that lived there left in the streets. The savagery that only his kind could be known for, and a beautiful beginning for the new Hollow King's eternal reign!

For many people the Wastelands had become a sort of trial, a metric to determine strength of character and ferocity. After all what better place on Earth to test your mettle in the face of overwhelming odds than a land swarming with all varieties of evil forces, especially demons and hollows? With open skies and armies of villainous creatures this was the perfect arena for Jian Yijun to get some real experience and training against actual foes. After the Monsuta assaulted the small African nation of Djibouti, and Kai was one of the first responders, the strength difference between the Chinese youth and the powerhouses the world was capable of producing these days made it clear he still had a long road to travel before protecting everyone would become a real, possible objective. It was for this reason he now found himself neck-deep in monsters trying to end his life.
Dust filled the air as an inferno of bright crimson energy washed across the dried out, crevice filled wasteland. This blast originated from a particularly large Hollow, its tremendous body coating Kai in darkness. Though his enemy blocked out the sun, he was perfectly fine fighting in the shade. Having ducked below the creatures energy attack Kai dove forward and lunged with the huge guandao he regularly fought with, impaling it directly into the beast's belly. Rearing back from pain, the Hollow roared as the last of the Cero dissipated. Now seeing an opening Kai launched himself upward from his ancestral weapon Erphtal toward his foe's head, cocking back his fist as he did so. "Take....THIS!!" he exclaimed, releasing a punch packed with as much strength as he could manage, shattering the Hollow's mask and ending its life instantly.
Once Kai fell back toward the ground he was almost immediately set upon by another attacker, this time a pitch black-skinned demon with goat like horns protruding from its skull. Reacting quickly, Kai grabbed Erphtal and yanked his weapon-arm backward, tearing through the demon's abdomen with his weapon's blade tipped butt. Reeling in shock from its wound the demon opened a small portal with a wave of its hand, through which it disappeared into. With the thirst for battle still enveloping his brain Kai, without thinking, leapt through the dimensional rift so he could finish his fight. Unbeknownst to him this portal led to a realm more terrifying than his worst nightmares.
Seemingly instantly Kai had gone from the barren wasteland on Earth to a realm of darkness and dull, crimson skies. Unprepared for the landing once he'd dropped from the portal, Kai was now laying face-down on a ground of almost pitch black dirt, his muscles sore from the haphazard arrival into the Demon World. Groaning, Kai pushed himself up with both hands to a kneeling position, still squinting and shaking his head trying to get his bearings. The sounds of painful screams and explosions rocking the earth brought Kai back to his senses, reminding him of the warzone in Djibouti and filling him with memories of death and destruction. Looking around and seeing what seemed to be endless armies of demons at each other's necks, fighting for their very survival, Kai quickly realized he wasn't in Kansas anymore. He had jumped face first into a situation he had no reason being a part of, beset by millions of enemies and foes greater than any he'd met since Moroi.
Before he really had a chance to come up with some sort of plan, dozens of demons began swarming his landing zone. Armed, armoured, and ready for a fight these soldiers reminded Kai of those whom invaded and assaulted Djibouti. With those memories still fresh in his mind, Kai brandished Erphtal once again and swung it in a large arc in front of him, creating a wave of green flames which washed over and incinerated the incoming hostiles. Burnt to a crisp, life quickly left their eyes. Having no time to gather his thoughts, Kai sprinted forward and continued to do battle with the hordes of demons enveloping the Sirsa kingdom. With a particularly large group of soldiers heading straight for him, Kai impaled his weapon into the ground and used it to pole vault himself over six meters into the air before crashing back down into the middle of the pack. As his fist slammed into the ground, an inferno of green flames burst outward and completely engulfed Kai's attackers.
Between the force of the impact and the following blast, Kai finally had a minute or two to ready himself for the coming storm. Though the sheer number of demonic soldiers was enough to block out almost all other energy sources in the area, Kai could still perceive the existence of a seemingly ever-increasing number of particularly powerful individuals spread throughout the region. Each of these powers easily overshadowed his own strength, but to Kai it was all the same: The only thing which mattered now was his own survival. No matter the odds, no matter the enemies, and no matter his own abilities, he needed to survive and escape. At the moment this meant fighting an army. With a clear goal in mind and a path to obtain it, Kai was ready with renewed determination for whatever came next. "Lets do this."

Artist:Darkness OST - Song:Massacre at the Lighthouse - Word Count: 1657
There wasn't a shred of hope left for this place. Even if more had decided to show up, they were to face two forces that few could stand against. alone, let alone together. The parasite remained still, looking over the destruction and pain that ravaged the city. flames rolled through the sky in a flickering dance that was beautiful to gaze upon. The screams of demon after demon perishing under the might of their own brothers and sisters, as well as the Hollow abominations that swarmed the city indiscriminately. They took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of ash and iron that filled the air, the roar of an inferno playing music to accompany the conflict all around it. This was the fate that awaited most of the world. The Earth, the Soul Society, even Hell itself...They would all become a place of endless conflict and savagery, done away with any form of order and allowing the darkness in everyone's heart to manifest and bloom without relent. He could feel the life be snuffed out for miles, pillars of flames rising up as time and space were warped and twisted to his partner's whims. An interesting power, to say the least, a signal that marked another union that was never meant to be.
The surge of chaotic power washed over everything, but to Ruvik and his battalion, it was an all-familiar force. As the ground shattered beneath his feet, he remained still above a platform of his own dark essence. His only job this evening was to direct his forces and ensure things went off without a hitch, two things he could very easily accomplish. The ruin and suffering that spread throughout the capital even served to nourish his own existence, sparks of crackling red bursting to life at their host's fingertips and steadily increasing their own strength. Though they didn't put on nearly the same show as Inami, their own power remaining still and pathetic for once. The song was already playing by itself without them needing to raise a finger. He barely noticed the speck of an energy signature in the distance, an abnormality that stood among a civil war unlike any other. There was some amusement to be found in that, such a frail and useless soldier taking a step into a clash they couldn't dare to stand against..But at least it was better than nothing. Maybe they would make a good toy for one of his pets.
"A flea on our back and nothing more. I'll send one of my pets to handle it. Not any fun if they die instantly." He spoke commanding his legion telepathically to bend them to his will. One of the dozen scattered through the area would stop their savage assault on everyone and everything around them. They had been given a task, and to retain the strength they were gifted by their master? It would be carried out. A feeling of dread began to build around not just Kai, but the demons around them as well. It was the low overhanging feeling of a bomb being dropped from above, staring helplessly as it fell and prepared to detonate Fortunately....or maybe, unfortunately, the impact would be much more spaced out than the quick oblivion of an explosion.
The very Demons that were about to swarm the lone Human in the land of the dead? Before the man even needed to defend themselves, their attackers would be dealt with. Long claws pierced through their bodies, crimson blood spilling forward and shrouding anything in front of them in red, the young warrior included. Behind the twin demons that were the first to meet the creature's wrath was a lone Hollow. Like the others, it was clad in a thick, serpentine armor with visible muscles protruding from the shoulders, abdomen, and even along the legs. This particular being overshadowed the others, an eight and a half foot tall goliath taking a mostly humanoid shape with thick, muscular limbs. The hole in the center of their chest and the white mask upon their face were the only indicators of the beast still being Hollow at all. Its energy was twisted, corrupted to something dark and foul, yet different from the demons that surrounded it. Its spiritual pressure spilled out, bearing down on the demonic soldiers and the Human alike. While not even remotely as high as the two behind this madness, or even the strongest in Ruvik's division, it still grasped at a power close to that of a fledgling Adjjuhas, even so early in its evolution.
The Hollow ripped the twin demons into fourths, snuffing the life from their eyes and sending their bisected halves crashing into the other foot soldiers close by and crushing them into the crumbling and ravaged buildings in the way. The enormous Hollow stood before Kai, the savage bloodlust in their eye bearing down on the lone target that had been chosen to become its prey. The masked twisted into a wicked smile, large carnivorous teeth on full display. Anything that dared to get close would meet the same fate, even its very own allies if they so chose to interfere with its catch. There were no words, just a chilling glare cast down upon the neon-green fire-bender. It's fist raised high into the air, the intense pressure of killing intent magnifying now that it was entirely focused on the lone man before them. Just as quickly as it appeared, the Hollow's fist darted down right for the Human's smaller form, intent on crushing them into the earth with enough destructive force to shatter the landscape and crush most ordinary foes into a bloody mess of red and shattered bone. It was fast, the slow build-up giving way to a swift and accurate drop of their fist upon their unfortunate target!
As the beast began to play with the foreigner of the Earth above, the Hollow King himself smiled at Inami's gesture of a reward. It was pleasurable to their ears, an idea already coming to their mind for what the future would hold for the dark being's sinister intentions. With a thought, the strongest Hollow in the legion they brought over leaped directly above Ruvik. The parasite conjured one of their old toys from the void, a flicker of darkness giving form to a moderately sized shield in their fingertips. The earth's plague... With the flick of a wrist, the shield was thrown straight toward the Hollow, the beast grabbing it with ease and adjusting the advocate around their arm. The creature in question surged with newfound strength, the creation of the King's will feeling on the soldier's bloodlust and every soul they had or will feed on that day.
A sudden change happened in the way his small battalion operated. The lone beast that fought Kai would continue as they were, but the rest? Instead of mindless slaughtering anything that remained, they worked together to subdue and capture, still breaking and maiming in the process. If anything it was worse for the people in the area, forced to suffer for longer instead of dying quickly to the savage beasts. All of them were to be fed to the new leader of the unit, the Hollow that grasped the advocate of life and would feed it with every soul they could find! Genocide for evolution. Even some that had already perished had their souls ripped away and fed to Gaia, the gem in the center of the shield glowing brightly with overflowing strength! Everything from that point on was a feast for the creation, the steps to create what may have been the greatest weapon in Ruvik's arsenal to date.
"Wonderful. Consider it done. My legion should be enough for now, but I'll keep an eye out for some more...entertaining prey..."
Ruvik replied, turning his gaze between two events. Their main focus was the evolution of its child, the advocate that devoured the souls of thousands by the minute and steadily grew closer to becoming something truly terrifying! But they also cast an occasional glance toward the lone protagonist that was in way over their head. The King liked a show though, so instead of slaughtering them himself? Watching them struggle against something little more than fodder is much more entertaining!

For a single human surrounded by millions of chaos-influenced demons scrambling to slaughter not just each other but everyone and everything in site, one might think all hope was lost. After all, even many of the fodder soldiers could prove to be matches for the man. Despite these overwhelming odds and endless hordes of enemies trying to kill him, Kai stood against this tsunami as a lone rock in an ocean of evil. The chaotic energy warping the minds of all the demons in the entirety of Sirsa had no effect on the Vanguard Warden, his incorruptible spirit and powerful determination remaining stalwart against the unbridled force he was preparing to meet head on. To observers like Inami and Ruvik he was but a speck of dust on the verge of being swept up by their incredible strength and apocalyptic power. To Kai this was just another situation stacked against him. Nothing would stop him for his indomitable will forbade it.
Needless to say Kai was in a situation which required his maximum effort just to survive another second. Having already taken out dozens of crazed demon soldiers, the Chinese youth was making short work of the generic fodder which currently surrounded him on all sides. In almost perfect unison both Kai and his enemies all looked toward the capital of the Sirsa Kingdom in response to the truly massive explosions and extinction of life brought about by Inami Asthavon. Even for someone who had witnessed mass murder and invasions on two separate occasions, this genocide event was startling to the point of causing Kai to audibly gasp. If he had been closer to the city he'd be gone, with no trace remaining. The ambient power radiating from both the demon queen and her assault on the kingdom was like an ocean dropped on Kai's shoulders. Any other man may have been forced to their knees from this alone, but his determination to survive and make it back home kept him standing on both feet.
As Sirsa's assailant's lackeys approached Kai and began a blitzkrieg rush to overwhelm the lone human, he immediately dropped to a kneeling position and slammed the butt of Erphtal into the jet black ground in front of him. Upon piercing the earth, a burst of green flames shot a few meters out in every direction, having the unintended effect of shielding him from the blood spatter which otherwise would have drenched the man. By the time Kai looked up the newcomer Hollow was already halfway through slaughtering the surrounding demons sent by Inami herself to take him out. When the monstrous Hollow finally switched targets and aimed a hammer punch directly at Kai, he had few other paths to victory besides meeting the beast head-on. After pulling Erphtal from the ground, Kai spun the weapon in a windmill motion before swinging it directly for his attacker's fist. On impact a gust of wind shot out in all directions as Kai's own superhuman strength clashed with the inhuman power of the Hollow. Kai immediately felt the pain in his arms as his feet created two miniature craters in the ground. He hoped because the beast had struck downward, the strength of both individuals would allow Erphtal's blade to sink at least a few inches into its fist.
After the initial clash Kai's opponent drew its fist back, clearly intending on continuing the assault it had started just a moment ago. In response to this the young man rushed forward and dropped to his knees, causing him to skid along the ground straight between the Hollow's tree-trunk like legs. As he passed through, Kai swung the blunt edge of his giant guandao directly at his foe's ankle in hopes of sweeping it off its feet. Regardless of his success, Kai spun in place about three meters behind the behemoth and Stance switched to Ranger, a glorious jade bow replacing the polearm he'd used thus far. From this weapon he rapidly shot three matching arrows directly at the Hollow's back, all of which would explode into miniature blasts of green fire capable of causing severe burns and acting like small explosions directly against the creature's skin.
Before he gave his enemy a chance to react Kai jumped into the air as small green flames erupted from below his feet, shooting himself over ten meters up where he then shot three more explosive arrows in immediate succession at the Hollow's skull. Acting quickly Kai slung his bow over his torso, summoned a jade arrow in each hand, and began dropping toward the beast by eliminating his thrusters. Using both momentum and all the physical strength he could muster, a surprising amount for a man his size, Kai aimed to impale both these arrows into the mask of his opponent in an attempt to finish off the beast in one go. After this he quickly kicked off from the Hollow and flipped through the air before landing about ten meters away. If the arrows remained lodged into the creature, after just a second or so they exploded from their tips, which would be inside the Hollow's head, and fused into one large green inferno of Jade Dragon fire. Whether his assailant was defeated, injured, or entirely unharmed, Kai was panting and starting to feel the aftereffects of continuously fighting off a horde of demons and Hollows. Too preoccupied by his present situation, Kai had no time to reflect or plan for whatever had yet to come. All that mattered was right now.
“I think we are just insects, we live a bit and then die and that’s the lot. There’s no mercy in things. There’s not even a Great Beyond. There’s nothing.” John Fowles, The Collector.
There was nothing left, all hope was gone. It had been eradicated from this place. From the nations of hope. Screams had quieted, and now the ground dripped with blood, it ran in rivers cascading off the pillar that had begun to rise further and further. The discord, the anarchy was so thick in the air that it influenced inami. Her expression was abysmal as she glanced at the pillar that was lowering from the sky. Her mouth shifted as her voice was a whisper as she spoke as if glancing at the heavens themselves.
”..What is it that i find so beautiful about calamity? Why is it that as they scream and run i find it ..
The queen paused as she drank it all in, the sight that expanded for hundreds of miles surrounding them. By now, Inami asthavon had felt the connectedness with sirsa lands as finally she had fully overwritten dayalu’s ownership of this place. Her breath was black at night as it billowed from her lips and she raised her hands and soon cracks expanded for many miles as the two massive pillars , one from the ripple in the sky, and the other from the earth had collided.
The force of these two colossal objects colliding would send out a shockwave, this shockwave was such a powerful force, that it would be akin to a magnitude 10 earthquake. The tremors would cause a wave, so massive that it would be ten stories tall from the ground of demon world. Yes, the very earth would tremble. Hundreds of miles from the collision between these two forces the earthquakes would cause for uncountable lives to be lost. Tens of millions of demons, slaughtered by the aftershock of this pillar, elderly demons crushed as buildings collapsed.
Yes within a thousand miles of this location, for that one moment as a boom so massive that it shook the heavens, deafening and all encompassing. It caused everyone to stop, every demon glanced as the air shimmered from the pillar that expanded up to eternity. Yes this was cataclysmic. It was a primal force that took every ounce of Inami’s concentration to do. Her arms raising up as soon everything within fifty miles would feel an energy drain from inami’s almost godly zao-ka domain. Weaker beings that survived would be sucked dry, waiting to be sacrificed by ruvik.
All this energy, positively titanic in volume swelled at inami’s back, and surrounding the pillar all the blood was pushed back, it began to form markings on the ground as once more a corona of pure demon magic surrounding the demoness. She truly looked like a fallen diety, from a higher plane. An omnipotent being. Her wings unfurled from her back as her horns grew on her head.
But the sky, oh the sky over sirsa began to change. Yes, it started with a ripple, but soon it seemed like the sky became a mirror, something was coming closer, bit by bit it was being hauled forth and as it was? Dimensional storms slowly began to ransack the space of Sirsa. Cracks forming in space itself from the magnitude of what Inami Asthavon was doing. However she also began to assert her dominance over Sirsa nation.
Kings and Queens within their domains of demon world as you know have the capacity to terraform their nation to fit what they wish. Now that Inami Asthavon had finally been able to take over the energy that allowed a king or queen to become the king or queen, shed was capable of controlling this massive amount of energy, and yet her mouth would open as she said in a soft voice.
”Admin Protocal, Override Necropolis System.”
Inami’s energy would rise further until it eclipsed everything, a pillar of pure power radiating from her as she connected to the core of chaya nation. The massive generator was rerouted until everything in chaya nation fell into darkness, only the generators that kept the floating city of chaya afloat actually had power so that the city and it’s inhabitants didn’t crash into the ground.
After that, if Kai was still here, it’d probably look to him like the end of the world, one of those extinction level cataclysms that he had always heard about in books. Yet, this was only the beginning.

The demon city was doomed. For one reason or another, the duo didn't have much opposition. Perhaps it was because of the numerous battles in the world of the living keeping the Demons attention, or they just didn't care to fight Inami and the Hollow King watching it all happen. His job was already done for the most part. It was almost disappointing that the only thing to show up was not much more than fodder. to him. But he still got what he wanted in the end. The Hollows ravaged the hellscape, feasting on anything and everything that got in the souls of countless hellspawn were harnessed, drawn into what would be the Hollow's first tool to ascending beyond their stagnant place in Shadowfall...But even this feast wouldn't be enough just yet. They needed to make one more step to realizing their first weapon of mass destruction, one that would reveal itself soon enough.
As the world began to shake and crack under the pressure of the two world's colliding, Ruvik couldn't help but admire it. The crushing force was even enough to overwhelm many of the Hollows that surged through the decaying streets. A black cloak built around the monarch's body, a defensive later of their twisted essence protecting their body from the shockwaves of ruin and desolation. It was like watching a small apocalypse right in the midst of it. A show to accompany their dinner and the creation of their next advocate. That at least made up for the lack of any worthy opponent for him to face directly. But there was still some amusement to be found in the fight between his weaker minion and the foolish soul that chose to step into the madness. Their eyes casually shifted between the heart of the devastation brought about by Inami and the small, insignificant battle in the distance.
The Hollow'ss fist clashed right against Kai's blade, the pressure growing as the creature finally had some opposition to crush and devour with a shred of strength to their soul. The thick scale-like armor that shrouded their body acted as a strong defensive, allowing their hand to push back against the blade without being easily cut through like most opposition. The armor cracked at the very spot the blade met it, but offered immense resistance to the sharp edge, even with both forces clashing against one another. Even as ruin befell the world behind them, the creature was deadset on devouring its prey, a monster more savage than most expected even from their kind. Its jaws parted, letting loose a monstrous cry as the blade and armor-clad fist split in an explosion of sparks and pressure.
The sounds of battle were completely overshadowed by the eruption of power behind them. The world quivered, the roar of devastation overshadowing the sounds of conflict and drawing most eyes to the heart of the madness. Still, the creature was relentless, acting on refined instinct and bloodlust alone. Despite its size, the creature was agile and quick. Its fist darted right for its target once more, piercing the air and distorting the wind. Though the attack missed its target as they slid beneath it, the direct strike against the ground still left quite an impact. The ground shattered, cracks forming for dozens of feet and the earth caving in deeply where the fist struck. The Hollow was also knocked off their feet by the well-placed strike but was quick to react. Using their fist against the ground as the armor by its ankle cracked and their foot slid through the air, the large beast flipped off of their hand, sending themselves flying in the opposite direction of Kai and right toward one of the cracked and shattered buildings nearby.
As the airs came flying toward it, The Hollow pushed their feet against the wall in mid-air, glass shattering behind it and the steel breaking under the pressure. It jumped from the wall, darting right for Kai at impressive speeds. Its hand moved right for the incoming arrows, snatching them out of the air and crushing them in its iron grip. The explosion was contained in its fist, green flames spilling out from its hand and shrouding the beast in green embers and smoke. Still, it kept going. The monster flew through the explosion, its hand badly burned with the armor surrounding it filled with holes from the point-blank explosion. Blood dripped from the wound, but the pain didn't even seem to register! The extra defense from its armor, alongside its immense pain tolerance, let the creature move without pause, shrugging off the extensive burns along its arm for the time being. It darted right for kai riding its momentum, its other fist arced and flying toward them.
Fortunately, Kai's plan left him in a good spot to avoid this as well. Were they to still fly up, the strike would hit the ground once more, an explosion of dust and debris scattered throughout the area instead. The ground caved even deeper, a shroud of dust blocking the Hollow from view, but not for long. It got on all fours on the ground, leaping skyward directly after kai and into the path of the storm of arrows without pause, but not alone. In its burned hand it tightly grasped the corpse of one of the very demons it had slaughtered moments ago. The beast threw the segmented remains right at the arrows, the flesh absorbing the impact and taking the initial force of any following explosions. The hollow darted through the green flames that remained, lightly burning its flesh through the armor, but drastically reducing any damage from a direct hit. The distance between them closed quickly, the yellow, predatory eyes focused intently on the man in front of them.
The Hollow's enormous hands darted right for Kai and the arrows they held in each hand. Despite its size, it was still quick, and just as strong as one expected. It aimed to grab Kai's hands, and a good chunk of their arm for that matter and pull their limbs aside, allowing the arrows to cut into the exposed flesh of its burned hand while cracking the armor on the other. Now that they were so close, the beast's enormous jaws parted, its head darting for Kai's shoulder and aiming to chomp down, ripping a huge chunk of flesh, bone, and muscle right out of their body! Right before the explosions kicked in, possibly hitting both of them if Kai couldn't escape the beast's powerful grasp.
In any case, the explosion split the close range between them, the force knocking the hollow to the ground with a powerful thud. The force and flames left the bulk of its body burned and the armor substantially damaged. Even its mask cracked, which was a stepping stone to its demise, but it wasn't enough just yet. The creature kept going without pause. Their body rebounding from the ground, dark blood spilling from their wounds as they looked up, barely registering the damage that adorned its flesh. As the explosion of Inami's power began to die down and the sounds of their conflict returned, the first thing to be heard was that shrill, unrelenting cry from the monster's mouth, its spiritual pressure growing from the adrenaline and taste of blood that filled its mouth.
Overall the Hollow was in considerably bad shape. Its mask cracked, left-hand burned black and in agonizing pain. It'd be downright useless if not for the creature's horrific tenacity. While its right-hand was also damaged, the armor shattered, but not nearly as badly burned as the others. And smaller holes scattered through the rest of its armor, traces of blood spilling from its wounds. Even so, it showed no signs of slowing down, its drive overcoming any pain. It stood on the ruined grounds of Hell, looking for the right moment to pounce once again.
