Meeting in the Snow

”I’m so tired.”

Roving eyes of dull emerald glanced out from the large window that lay before her. Those eyes looked across the vastness of her kingdom. Of the beings that had given her their devotion, their loyalty, and ultimately their trust. She gave them the world, but had it been enough? On and on the wheel turned round and round. Hatred bred Hatred, and Lies and Deceit poisoned the mind. Family had turned against itself, and their gods had given up on them. How long ago had it been that she had thought she could prop up this failing regime? This toxic pile of sludge.

”I’m done.”

The thought was one that finally filled the mind of the woman who had given so much for those who she had so adorantly called kin. She finally had nothing left to give them. She had nothing left, other than her darling daughter. The one who had given her months of unexpected happiness and joy, and it was to her that she would give the smoldering cinders of her heart. How fitting, that she had only found that which she had sought above all else, when she had finally found the courage to seek out her own choice. Still, her daughter was strong. She knew that her daughter would be able to go on, and she knew that her people deserved far better than the hateful world that had been all of their own faults.

”So, it’s time after all is it?” Inami thought as she closed her eyes and let the memories fly by. One by one she would engrain the love of her family in her mind. Mana, Iota, Nami, Calypso, Neoveta, Khala. She would internalize the hate, and the anguish as well. She would not forget the mistakes that they had made. She would do better, and would seek true peace for her people.

Damn these insufferable gods. Enough. Inami had had enough.

Soon the realm would begin to shake, as the Queen of Chaya sighed softly. Standing not on chaos point, but instead in a room filled with a vast amount of noxious energy. The queen finally began to inhale, the half of shadow falls reserve one of their most notorious energy boosting drugs flowing through her body. The jarring impact of the vast amount of power that would rocket through her causing blackened sludge to bubble forth from her cherubic ruby red lips.

For the last time for this realm, the necropolis network would surge, the cores of her empire awash with enough power that the mighty reactors that at one point even used to be a significant source of power for shadow falls demi network began to show signs of being pushed beyond their reasonable limits. All this power surrounded the queen, and fought to rip free from the vessel that sought to contain it.

Meanwhile throughout the entirety of the demon realm, overwhelming power could be felt from the chaya nation. An otherworldly amount of energy, steeped in the blackest night beginning to seethe and churn. It would start merely as a ripple, a whisper of power, before a shockwave rocked the realm itself. Soon pushed beyond even her reasonable limits, the Queen of chaya fell back to relying on her possessive influence to contain the maelstrom of power that lay within her.

This would bolster her to levels in that moment that could only be surpassed by a very few beings to ever exist. Maybe she could finally understand the power that flowed through her eldest sisters veins, maybe not. The veritable dark star of power only continued to burn brighter and brighter as her possessive influence began to balloon in distance wildly under the bolstering of such a titanic force of power. Farther and farther until it touched the very periphery of the kingdom of chaya.

Only then, when she felt the precipice of her power reach a new stage, did the elation dull and only emptiness remain. Even as her mortal shell burned incandescent, the fog of her energy a midnight plume that began to spread throughout the entirety of the nation she called home. Her lips would part, and caught on the wind would be the words to her daughter, the only being left in the realm that she still cared for.

”Mommy loves you Iota, I always will.” Inami spoke those words and a whisper of a smile blossomed upon her lips before she finally spoke to her nation, her voice booming across every corner.

”Hear me my people! I’ve promised you much, and now I will deliver on it. I will take away the suffering and the pain. No longer shall you face persecution. We shall finally be at peace. I’ve given up trying to save this world. Peace is impossible, and so we shall leave.” The queens stalwart words were filled of the answer she had finally come to after trying for so long to create peace. That peace would be impossible, unless she created the space of true peace herself.

She would no longer rely on anything else. Even as her immortal mortality continued to burn away, she applied law removal one last time. It’s amethyst glow spreading across the borders of her nation, and through it, through that singular power, backed by monumental will, the bonds that deveta had upon her realm were burned to cinder, the fabric of the realm beginning to be ripped. The chaya nation slowly but surely would begin to separate from the demon realm.

”If you choose dear, you can always find me. “ Inami spoke once more to her daughter.

Such deitific power would require an equivalent price. For inami, that was her immortality. She was willing to pay it for the people she loved so much. Eternity had grown dull for her, and the thought of living forever simply no longer appeased her. Maybe, just maybe, she’d find the peace and solace she so greatly wished for when her years finally were finite.

The timeless aspects of the queen slowly burned away as her powers began to sever far more than just Chaya’s connection to the realm, soon the seals and connection the people of the nation and even what she herself had to their former god was burned to cinder under the totality of the decree that was enacted. Once it was all reduced to rubble, a curtain of impentrable dark expanded across the chaya nation, and then with one more shockwave, far stronger than the last the entirety of the chaya nation almost looked to have imploded. The entirety of it being sucked in to a singular dark point behind Inami, having finally breached the barrier between realms, to go forth into somewhere far, far out of reach of the chaos of this realm.

Standing on the precipice, Inami smiled softly as Dysnomia burned away, the goddess smiling down at her as she dissipated fading to the ash. Then the emerald faded from her eyes and only her heterochromia remained. The vastness of her power dissipated into this realm, the power that had finally free’d them from their god exploding into a brilliant aurora that would encompass the skies of the realm she had called home for so long.

For all intents and purposes in that moment Inami looked like a passerby, a being not of this realm looking in. She had no presence, and no otherworldly power, the mortality she sought making her look so mundane, as if she was nothing more than a girl barely over the age of twenty. Still, the smile on her face was so content, and in that moment she knew there was no where else she’d rather be. So with one final look towards the old capital, towards the daughter who she couldn’t be prouder of, the woman would give a little wave before turning around to saunter into the enternal black .

”Goodbye dear” The words lacked power or presence but they’d reach her daughter all the same, her multi-colored hair finally fading into the blackness of the horizon, and then the circle would fade, and only a huge hole in the fabric of their world would remain.
