A slight shift in his gaze, watching the words in detail as they came. The woman spoke well for someone imprisoned for a millennium - unnoticed in the moment, something Hitoshi would come to realize later, when he actually learned of her past. For the moment, he'd take it for what it was; a deal as dangerous as a threat.
Shadow shifted softly under the Kurata, the spindle of Sanzukiko smooth between fingers. A tilt of the head, unfazed, unblemished.
"That could be seen to come true. Of course, it need be done correctly. To not take things flippantly. An understanding, if it need be said." Turning his gaze away from Kanae, Hitoshi aimlessly extended a hand, pale fingers holding a folded note.
"This is a location. You will meet a man. He does not know you, he does not know us. Yet, he seems to know many other things. These things will not come cheaply, but they will come." Emerald slipped back as he moved to pass her, a slide remark as he drifted past.
"We come as a friend, Captain."
Congratulate yourself, sow. You've made the distinction to be a tool.

The look of this man was one clearly untrustworthy. Kanae had met many slimy individuals in her day, even much of the Gotei's ranks was made up of criminals and schemers. She knew the type that couldn't be trusted, and so far this Hitoshi Kurata was putting up every red flag imaginable. And yet, to Kanae, he was precisely the kind of person she wanted to use. He could make for a good tool, and if he ever bites her hand, discarding him would be of no trouble. And unlike that other man who wanted to spend more time bickering than figuring out a plan, Hitoshi seemed willing to work.
"An understanding indeed, Hitoshi Kurata. Good relations between the Gotei and our friends of the Rukongai are always important to maintain. Not when we can do so much for each other~." Kanae's lips curled upward into a forced grin, her ever-present veneer of a mask hiding her true thoughts and intentions.
When Hitoshi walked past Kanae, the latter subtly took the paper from his hand and hid it within the confines of her Captain's haori. If this connection would prove a valuable resource, Hitoshi could prove a valuable ally in her own nefarious plans. A friend in the most strained meaning of the word.
"We shall see, Hitoshi Kurata."
