Are You Even Worth It? [AKIRA/DRAGON]

A Dragon | Nothing More, Nothing Less
Food was food, a meal was a meal, but humans just didn't sum up to be either anymore. Why though? The Dragon pondered this as she listened to the agonizing screams of thousands of humans breathing in her miasma. Their skin melted, their eyeballs decomposed, their clothes decomposed into less than the plant matter they were made of, and after a few minutes of screaming, there was nothing left.
Their souls were carried back to the Dragon's body on her effluvial mists. The gaseous gray acid slowly drifted through the alleyways and the broken buildings until it slunk back under her very scales, filling her with the miniscule souls that the humans had sheltered within them. Centuries ago this would have been enough to fill her belly, but now it was like nothing to the gnawing hunger that threatened to consume her being. Perhaps it would simply be something she would have to learn to live with?
Buildings began to crumble into nothing more than rocks and debris, her effluvia even melting away concrete and leaving it where it was. Nondigestible meant she couldn't eat it, and therefore it wasn't carried back to her. But it was amusing that these humans built such things to shelter them from the elements, and yet here it all was, collapsing oh so noisily into piles of indistinguishable nothingness. It had nothing to do with her earlier thoughts. The Dragon just liked to relish in the destruction as she stood there in the middle of an empty street, watching the world fall apart from her very presence.

AKIRA TAIRITSU - Blue. Inner Hollow: Purple
Horror.
It was the only word which could define the current circumstance playing out before his golden gaze, shrieks of anguish that acted like a symphony to the sky around, praying to anything yet falling on a silence and to be absorbed by the monstrosity that so sluggishly needn’t do anything but sit there as an entire town was brought to heel. On this outskirts. Akira could feel the rush of adrenaline, a tension that he had not felt since the War. The black boot stepped to the right, moving to depart the town and leave it to the Adjucha. Only for -it- to speak.
"Cute. It’s so like you to avoid conflict, for all that righteousness, you’re still just a boy from that little homestead. Do you hear them? The screams?”
Zathrusta was always cruel, though it was rare that it egged Akira on to engage in a fight when the spiritual pressure difference alone would cause many to realize this was a lost cause from the get go. Damn that beast. It knew what to say, to encourage action, knowing full well this is a combat that required full commitment.
"Damn you.”
Akira then twisted on the spot, weaving his fingers in a motion across his body after they traced the base of a constantly dripping zanpaktou, a darker blue reiatsu moving in the formation of a Bakudo barrier membrane across flesh that was enhanced by the basic power, listening to the chuckles of his Inner Hollow. One was excited, the other less so. From a glance, he could tell the reiatsu being poured into this mist and it returning to the Adjucha, following these leylines or otherwise connections due to the Sight, deciding now was better than ever to begin a swift advancement. This wasn’t a winning battle, but it was one to test his mentality.
The Shinigami found his black boots touching and leaping from the outskirt rooftops that began to collapse, presuming the intense spiritual energy that he held would have already acquired this beasts attention.

A Dragon | Nothing More, Nothing Less
The Dragon was not one for relishing in combat. Struggles like such always were the result of food being too wily for its own good. It was a nuisance. As was the shinigami approaching her. The Dragon wouldn't blink, wouldn't really make a move to attack, but she would tilt her head to the side to look at Akira as he approached her. Her golden gaze appraised him for everything he was worth while her animal instincts took in his reiatsu signature, and...
"Weak." She muttered whether Akira was close enough to hear her or not. Her scales were a defensive measure honed over more or less a millenia of evolution. She had feasted upon the strong for years until she had become strong herself, and so it would almost certainly take centuries for this man to gain the ability to pierce them. Or so she assumed, at least. If he tried, that was on him, but there was more than meets the eye. Her effluvia naturally returned beneath her scales where it belonged, waiting to be used again or to defend her from any strikes. The Dragon simply did not need to make the first move, and if Akira's first move was to run, she would not chase, for she would not blame him at all.

AKIRA TAIRITSU
There was an element of anxiety that was being thrust into Akira’s core as the thrumming heartbeat pounded viciously against the ribcage, each step of the boot trudging through thick sludge and which wasn’t decompressed by this Dragon’s primal power. This wasn’t a conflict of life or death. This was an inconvenience for her, a suicidal stunt by this ant whom comparatively must have been another creature that thought it was the protagonist or some story. Ironic.
Soft lips parted as his sight watched with interest at where this vapor was coming from, mutterings of an Incantation beginning to rise as the left hand twitched, serene blue outline of a Bakudo membrane evident, as once this build up of reiatsu was complete and incantation stated, a large thick rod of light blue hue resonated into the palm before being thrown at the Adjucha!
"Bakudō #62. Hyapporankan!”
It rapidly replicated itself into a hundred or so rods, as he’d skid and jump onto one of the semi-decomposed buildings, though this Bakudo had been altered, seemingly following unseen reiatsu lines that his sight granted, being less like thick rods with the intent to pin her in place but shift into thinner points. He had reduced the potency of it for the size, aiming for them to strike into a multitude of places underneath the scales and reduce her capacity to exude this miasma!

A Dragon | Nothing More, Nothing Less
The attack took so long to start that the Dragon was given time to start preparing more effluvia pre-emptively. Not much, but enough to counter whatever it was that would be thrown at her. Sure enough, through squinting eyes she witnessed a vaguely familiar sight. Perhaps she had seen this once before, but never quite so sharp. The size of the rods was particularly unfortunate though, as the beast could hardly be pierced by such things. Still, she wouldn't take her chances. So, with a flap of her wings, the Dragon expelled a gray mist of acid from beneath her scales, launching a thick fog in the area of the attack that Akira had sent at her.
Whatever the rods were made out of would simply begin to rot and degrade, shrinking them further in size until they were practically harmless. The only reason that they didn't reduce in size completely was because of the speed with which they moved. Akira's attack still technically hit the Dragon, but by the time it did, every rod was so puny in comparison to normal that they simply bounced off of her hardened scales with the sound of solid metal tinks.
"Try harder." Taunted the beast flatly without looking at Akira, almost nonchalantly trying to see if this man was even worth eating.

AKIRA TAIRITSU
Akira’s eyes shot wide in horror as the Adjucha’s acidic mist radiated out and reduced such a strong Bakudo into nothing but mere picks comparatively, even after a full incantion, there was a rate of which spiritual energy could degrade but in his current state, to even humor the thought of anything stronger was hilarity incarnate. There was an instinct to retreat. Then did his eyes shift to his zanpaktou, letting out a gentle exhale, steeling himself before moving the tip into the sheathe whilst his legs carried him in an encircling manner through the mulch that was the streets.
When was the last time he released his Shikai?
Was it -then-?
There was an element of hesitation, though witnessing this beast, hands trembling as sweat dripped across the palm, finally able to usher those words after too long at best.
"Bring them peace, Rivu-aiasan.”
He claimed softly as the sheathe of the blade began to darken, a coelsion of water which covered the entire blade, shifting to a brutal inky blackness whilst the droplets of moisture around his from ceased movement, before finally did he unsheathe a blade with a core of wavey blue, a shimmer as if waves lapped on the surface of a body of water. The hilt was black, a gemstone of blue within the bottom and clearly the material resembled more barnacle than anything else, yet there was more.
Within 40ft of the Shinigami did he manage to call forth four large beachball sized spheres of water, one constantly above him, the other two about 15ft off each flank yet the fourth was definitely at the edge of his range. This increase of his potency being around two hundred percent, comparatively to her? Most likely nothing but Akira, whom hadn’t felt it in a while, felt alive.
"You’ll receive my best.”
There was a cold retort, as for the brief moment Akira’s focus on the furthest orb had it move rapidly, altering itself into a wide, muzzle like structure as it aimed to cover her capacity to breathe and strike salt water into the eyes to disorientate the Adjucha, trying to keep on the move whilst using her size against her.

A Dragon | Nothing More, Nothing Less
Finally, a release. That meant her opposition was no longer holding back. Now she could truly humiliate him, as all Shinigami deserved to be. Her body might still be lax, but that was not from any sort of lackadaisical nature. No, she was still ready to move at any moment, to prove why she was the superior being here. Being a hollow was an evolution of death, it was what all powerful things were meant to become after dying. Anything that became otherwise was...
"...Weak."
Her taunt echoed through the now otherwise quiet and empty wasteland that was the village. Water meant to muzzle her? It wasn't fast enough, as ironic as it might seem to anyone who might spectate their bout. The Dragon simply leapt away into the air, wings flapping to give her some extra propulsion that helped get her into the air, and then with a twist she reoriented herself to start flying away from the water Akira had summoned.
Only a moment's worth of notice was all he got as the Dragon's closed maw began to glow a pale grey light, and upon opening it she fired a shotgun of effluvial bala in the Shinigami's general direction. The force sent even the Dragon reeling back a little, the power of it sending her a few feet back in the air while her bala flew like speeding cars towards Akira. Each impact from them would explode, obliterating the environment and leaving several meters worth of acidic gas around each individual impact point. Most of the dozen or so bala would land where Akira was, but assuming he wasn't slow enough then there would still be plenty of room for him to dodge.

AKIRA TAIRITSU
Now.
That pale greyish reiatsu began to build up, boots stepping onto the left most influence of water as it was used as a method of transportation, but Akira found that if the beasts armor was too strong for him to break through. Then he’d aim for something more. Rivu-aisan was thrust ahead, left arm gesturing back to the sphere of salt water behind him, abandoning the incantation as its strength was reduced by a quatre or so. During this charge phase, a brief moment to act.
Gaki Rekko.
An emerald circle forged around the tip of the blade before a sudden burst of green energy began to thrust itself through the air at the Adjucha, aiming to exploit this brief moment land a direct hit, as each of these streams and disconnected strikes though shot in a caged formation, leaving time to dodge or even taking it straight on. He had altered it though, so the impact was reduced in potency, drastically increasing the back end of it to hammer down and cause shockwave based damage to internally cause her harm.
Regardless though, it came at a cost.
It was then these bala’s created a light show within the eve sky, brutally making their way around Akira’s current placement, eyes granting him insight into their personal touch though it didn’t mean much. It only informed him of the pain to come. The instinctive body of water which carried him, bolted him to the right side as one tore earth, concrete and all else upward, though the gas thrust out, reaching the left arm as it began to eat away at the Bakudo membrane, eliciting a shriek of pain, as hot tears formed in the corners of his eyes, Gaki Rekko dropping.
"Nargh! Argh…Argh….B-Breathe…”
There was a mulch of both his left sleeve and a thin layer of flesh which it had taken, though this bleeding didn’t seem to wish to end, even as the membrane was refocused around it to stem most of it. The pain could not be helped.
"Tsk. You’re an insufferable little thing but I don’t fancy being assimilated by my own kin, such insolence to think I can be consumed.”
Akira didn’t need it nor the condescending attitude, though being consumed wasn’t appealing either, using the left hand to dip into the sphere which was carrying him and focusing on a muttering, empowering: Hadō #88. Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō, by after incantation but also further still by twenty five percent due to his own Shikai’s capability, storing it within the sphere.
"I….I re-really have gotten weak…”
There was a hint of stubbornness to him as the sphere was the only thing granting him some movement right now, knees finally heeding their masters command in standing as his marred hair and sullied features stared with intent against the Adjucha.

A Dragon | Nothing More, Nothing Less
For as fast as the beast was, her size would prove to be a defining factor in one of the few reasons she ever actually took damage in most of her fights. Now would be one of those times. As the green spell was cast in her direction, the Beast would adjust her flight path to continue through the air, shifting her wings to lift her up, let her fall, push her forwards, then slow just in time to avoid most of the attacks. But it wasn't all successful. A few of the green bolts struck her scaly hide with such force that she was knocked clean out of her flight path. The impact would sound like small explosions, but the only sight was the impact of pure kinetic energy reverberating through the air from each point of impact.
The beast let out an unholy shriek that sounded neither Dragon nor Hollow. It was truly the thing of nightmares, just like the Beast herself. It all came to pass in but a moment, and soon the Dragon was righting herself before she even touched the ground, flapping her massive rotted wings to carry herself back upwards. There was damage, not externally, but internally. She could feel her organs bruised and battered beneath her hardy exterior, but it wasn't enough to do anything more than piss her off.
"Insolent wench." The Dragon hissed through the air in Akira's general direction. She couldn't see him, but she could feel him. "Suffer the consequences of your own foolish mistakes!"
Being a Hollow didn't mean she had no clue how to form reishi platforms beneath her feet. No, she know how, and she did. Her wings ceased to flap as she skid to a sudden halt in the sky above. It didn't matter if she couldn't see amongst the rubble and her own rage, her wings spread wide and effluvia erupted from every scale on her body in what could only be described as a grey, misty explosion of acid mist. It would rain down on the nearby area, extending far outwards for hundreds of meters in a matter of moments, and soon would encompass the entire area as it had before Akira even arrived.

AKIRA TAIRITSU
So.
This was it.
The stinging pain which was coming from his body was no doubt the only thing keeping his mind off the physical toll it took to produce so many Kido in a rapid succession, it was his speciality but the higher they are, the more dangerous they become to cast. Such a focus also on the orbs of water, it truly was a miracle at this given point as Akira was reminded of the exhaustion of battle, hearing a shriek that tore into the core, knees buckling lightly as a terror grasped at his core. Life had been…Simple…It was all he could ask for after the torment, yet his body didn’t obey him. Akira wasn’t giving in on a physical level, feeling flesh abhorrently sting in the cold air, Bakudo membrane barely able to defend and divert itself to other areas of the body.
Then an image hit him.
He had spoken to so many since coming out of his own idealistic sphere, Sabriel, a lovely Arrancar as far as one could go. Hana, a beacon of hope for the Shinigami and what they could become, Hannah to some degree, displaying a brand new depth to reiatsu, Calypso whom he had shared a philosophical engagement with. These individuals all had contributed in some small way to his desire to live, new possibilities.
Teeth sunk into the lower lip, as the Adjucha reared itself with the attack, watching an ungodly amount of mist now fall onto the town below, his Bakudo membrane only managed to barely protect him against those Balas but this was intent. There was a burst of reiatsu from the Shinigami, left hand raising despite the pain as he clawed it across his facial features, a defiant, vibrating and strained:
"No!”
Burst forth, a midnight blue aura fluctuating from Akira as the man knew that if death were to come to him, then he may aswell confront that terror, Zathrusta, they would both go down. The trembling leg stepped into a Shunpo above, as this acidic mist blew across upper torso, neck and thigh, watching as the membrane was swiftly being dissolved and eaten, a pale white mask with two slits covering his features as tentacle like chitin wrapped around the back of his head, infusing his reiatsu with hollow energy and increasing his power by a further fifty percent. Now. He had to do it now.
Akira’s hand burst forth, releasing an incantationless #58. Tenran, a burst of whirling wind decidedly attempting to come forth and cause disruption to movement from the Adjucha, he doubted any wind based attack would be truly damaging. It was to keep her focus occupied and by extension limit movement, as the priorly stored Hadō 88. The sphere exploded, unleashing this vicious and potent burst of lightning based energy as it jolted through mist, aiming to impact and cause a brutal explosion. Regardless of the outcome of this attack, such a shockwave and Akira’s current situation, stamina and burns made it evident that this would result in him willhelm shrieking across the sky.
The mask would break, body breaking through tree and mulch alike as his zanpaktou skidded across the ground.
