Standing at a bit under six foot tall, Daniel is, from a certain point of view, a young man with a great deal of charisma, and eye catching physical features. These things work for him in his line of work and he puts his best foot forward to maintain these appearances through good hygiene and physical activity. He keeps his blonde hair rather well kept and on any given day or week will add highlights to his hair for the live streams he hosts or the cosplays he wears for public meetings with his adoring fans. In some ways these habits of keeping up his appearance come off a bit vain and at some points he tends to get angry if his appearance has been 'damaged' in some capacity or another, which is why he is meticulous in his drive to keep his charms at top quality. Be it skin care products to keep his skin smooth or making sure to check for frays in his varied wardrobe, Daniel keeps a good eye placed on maintaining everything that he owns.

Speaking of his wardrobe, he keeps a lot of clothing, but most practically he is seen wearing an almost steampunk like attire in his normal every day life. He tends to put on his more expensive and extravagant clothing for his streams and fan meetings, choosing to allow the public eye to see the "best side" of him, while keeping what he supposes is his 'bland side' for those he trusts most and family. He is also seen wearing a gauntlet of sorts that emits a low humming to those that get close enough to him, this is is a device that he and his father crafted for combat purposes, if the need ever arises.

» Personality: Daniel has the disposition of a man who is a constant people pleaser, giving people what they want and when they want it, albeit in his own ways. This could be through handing out money, by singing and dancing, or by simply trying to lighten the mood with a bad joke. Daniel has always been one who strives to read the room and to try and get the room on his side, mainly due to how his parents have reacted to his lifestyle choices. The relationship between his parents and himself is loving, but there is a sense of pride in being a member of the Cross family that, to his parent's eyes, doesn't seem to be met by him simply being an entertainer. To Daniel, he kind of views this as them resenting him for choosing to be free from the burdens of war, and all the drama that comes with it. In many ways, Daniel's success has hinged on this mentality of striving to prove them wrong, and that he can honor the Cross name in more ways than being a soldier.

That, however, doesn't mean that Daniel devalues the family line that he hails from, but rather he views his family honor as being too rigid. He is perfectly fine with fighting for the right cause, but doesn't do too well with the idea of that being the only way in honoring what it means to be a Quincy, and what it means to be a member of his house. In fact he is constantly supporting the troops and doing what he can from the public sector to lighten the mood for those risking their lives and to mourn those that lost their lives in the line of duty. He is the first to give his respect for those that served and the last man to judge those who choose to make war instead of peace. Everyone has their own ways after all and part of being free to do as he pleases as an entertainer, is to insure that everyone's way of life is equally represented and respected. After all, it would hypocritical otherwise if he was allowed to judge people for choosing to live how they wanted.

Still there is also an inherent problem with Daniel is that sometimes he takes failure too hard and not just in a professional capacity, mind you. There is an almost OCD level of dedication to making sure that he won't fail in his goals that sometimes he may miss meals or functions entirely to insure that his next big step is reached flawlessly. And when things go bad? Daniel tends to get depressed and even angry at himself for failing to live up to his own expectations of what he wishes to achieve. As such he doesn't take failure too well, probably a value that was instilled in him since early childhood from his father, and tends to retract into himself upon feeling that sense of failure. Choosing to instead internalize these problems as opposed to talking them out with others, his father was a military man after all, and always kept his emotional problems close to his chest. In that way the two of them are eerily similar, as he will usually smile, and try to uplift people's moods despite his own personal issues or even physical pain. Its in his nature and it is how he was raised to be.

» History:

The Cross family has historically been a family that has supported the Quincy, either militarily or financially, for generations. They have, over many generations, also been one of the most loyal families to the causes that the Quincy people support, and have been known to produce some talented soldiers to join the ranks of their forces over the years. It as such that Cross Industries, the business made by the founding father of the family, has grown in power and wealth as the years have gone by in service of their Quincy brothers and sisters. Cross Industries, merely being a front at first, has produced technology, pharmaceutical technology mostly, to aid on battlefields either via stimulants or specialized medical equipment to treat wounds. As such, those who are born into the family are viewed with a certain sense of purpose, and are, for the most part, pointed toward a certain lifestyle, or a certain job path to aid the business in expanding into the future. Now, be Daniel Cross, born into a family who has historically been soldiers, combat medics, and visionaries in the way of medical technology. You, Daniel Cross, have your whole life planned out for you, and are shackled by the vision of your father who wishes for you to carry on the prestige of your family. This is even before you open your eyes, before you have taken your first steps, or uttered your first words. This was Daniel's early life.

Born to Lorenz Cross' second wife, Daniel Cross was, by default shoved into the shadow of his older brother Gregory Cross while also being shoved into the shadow of the Cross family's unending ambition. Daniel did not thrive in these conditions, a fact that his half-brother would remind him of on the regular, and would struggle in the early years of his education with the weight of the family honor and prestige. Its' not that he wasn't smart or gifted, but it was that he just didn't compare to Gregory who seemed to be his superior, and loved to rub that in his face consistently. His father and mother loved him, trying their best to nudge him toward the career paths that had been tried and true for the family, and also tried their best to get the two siblings to get along, a fact that Gregory hated. Gregory, being born from Lorenz's first wife, hated Dorian for being the 'new toy' much like he hated their mother for being the 'replacement' for his mom who had died in service. Being born at least ten years apart did not help matters either as the subjects that the two could relate on couldn't be farther apart. Over time the wedge between the two seemed became almost immovable.

Gregory would join the ranks of Vandenreich, but before he left to join them Daniel would attempt one last time to remove the wedge between them. The twelve year old begged for his much older brother to not go away without first making things right with mother and himself, telling him that he at least wanted one fond memory with him before he left. Gregory looked at his brother and for the first time embraced him, bringing a warm smile, and tears to the young child's face. This would be the only positive memory he would have of his brother, who shortly after joining was deployed on a mission, and died in the line of duty. In an almost cruel twist of fate, that left Daniel in the 'heir apparent' role, and to him it never really fit. He was the eldest child now, no older than fourteen, and as soon as his brother's body was laid to rest he was groomed to take on the role as his brother had been. Forced to be educated in the company's inner workings, forced to study Quincy arts that he felt he was not ready for, and forced to endure grueling deadlines and expectations which he could just barely meet.

He endured it for close to three years before the weight of expectations and the ambitions of his family forced him into an almost tailspin that could have lead to a mental breakdown. During those three years, Daniel had showcased a natural charisma, and skill when it came to technology, much to his mother's delight who didn't want to lose a second son to conflicts that remained classified. For a while it was believed he would become a scientist before he found a passion of his own: streaming. At first it felt like a minor hobby, but over time he began to throw himself into it much more, and found himself using the platform as a coping mechanism and a way to alleviate his own stresses that were being shoved down his throat by professors and family alike. He became a hit almost over night, gaining adoration from fans all over the world for his takes on certain subject matters, and his natural charismatic skills when talking to or dealing with the people in his chat. He continued to study, train, and what not, but his mind was set on doing something outside of the normal at this point, and he knew that his family would probably hate him for it.

The news of him not wanting to be a scientist, but a streamer was taken as one would suspect a family of notable businessmen, scholars, and soldiers would take it. They took it harshly, placing a lot more work on the young man's table in order to force him out of his 'hobby', and back on the right path that they had deemed worth his time. In response, Daniel decided to do things his own way, and would notably 'forget' about tasks given to him to pursue his new passion and to make his streams as enjoyable for himself as possible. He would still study and he would still train, but the shackles were clearly off at this point, and much to his parent's chagrin they had to suck it up and deal with it. His mother was the first to accept his career path, albeit begrudgingly, and felt a little at ease at least that he wouldn't be pushing himself to the front lines of some battlefield with this career path at the least. His father remained stubborn though, at least until the first check came in the mail, and he saw just how much his son was making off of endorsements and ad revenue. At that point Dorian was allowed to continue his passion, at least until it was time for him to take over the mantle of the head of the family. Something that Daniel agreed to, after all he didn't want to abandon that responsibility, but rather just wanted to enjoy his life for the time being.

Now in his mid-twenties, Daniel continues to pursue the craft that he loves, while on the side dabbling in technology, and training in Quincy techniques to make his family happy at the least.


» Natural Abilities:

Intellectually Gifted: Maybe at one point or another Daniel would not have considered himself to be too smart as his brother seemed to constantly overshadow him, but over the years he has vastly improved intellectually. Math and science are two fields that he excels in, constantly striving to improve his streaming technology, and to understand things that he doesn't quite get so that he can be more knowledgeable in general. After all, having a broad range of subjects that he can at least give his take on is a must to be connected with people all over the world through his platform.

Applied Focus: If Daniel wishes to achieve something he tends to throw himself into it without hesitation, constantly striving to achieve his objective with little thought to outside influences and distractions. Sometimes this can be a negative thing as he tends to get too caught up in his own personal objectives and pays little mind to things on the outside, but it can also pay dividends not only in training, but also in combat as tense situations are easier to diffuse if one puts their mind to it, and strives to accomplish it. He can, however, become easily swallowed in his work, and will tend to lean to negligence on other things to make sure that his work is completed.

Generally Fit: Unlike most people who would focus on some aspect of physical training for improvement, Daniel has taken a more generalist approach by equally focusing on different aspects of physical fitness to improve his general health. He isn't remarkable at anything, much like his Quincy skills, but he does have a good frame work for improvement in any field if he so chooses to focus one way for another. For now he is perfectly fine with his lifestyle choices and has no intention of leaning one way or another, but he will keep his options open.


» Racial Abilities:

Quincy Generalist: For most avenues of power available to a rookie Quincy who doesn't spend every waking moment studying the arts or the trade, Daniel has these avenues covered. He studies and trains to be at least functional in the craft and capable of defending himself in a pinch if at all necessary, with the knowledge of at least how everything functions, and the concept of how everything works being at least known to him. He just doesn't have the desire to improve on those basic skills very much, but he could improve if he so did desire. Much like his physical fitness, he keeps his options open, but unlike his physical aspects he does have at least one passion out of all the Quincy Arts.

Improving Quincy Sorcerer: Out of all the things Daniel has learned about the Quincy, their magic has stuck the most with him, and seems to be his passion for the craft in general. He enjoys their spells, even if some are archaic, and take much more commitment to fully pull off unlike some of their counterparts the shinigami wield. He has taken a great deal of time, more than most of his other studies involving his natural skill set being a Quincy, to study these spells, and improve if even slightly more than his other general skills. He actually takes a modicum of pride in his spell crafting and believes that maybe he could pull this aspect of being a Quincy off more effectively than others, still he isn't one hundred percent sure, and is leaving his options open.

» Equipment:

Sorcerer's Gauntlet Mk. 2: A specialized gauntlet that has been crafted with the assistance of his father to better help in combat situations if the need for a fight ever does arise. The alloy is a hardened metal that is used as a shell to hold small capsules that are used to keep Quincy spells inside of them for quick casting on the battlefield. The gauntlet can launch these capsules at a target at least fifty feet away while the capsules are designed to activate the spell on contact with a rough surface, no matter if that be an enemy, or the terrain it was launched toward. The Mk. 1 had a general issue where the capsules would jam sometimes, but after several stress tests, and improvements to the device as a whole, the Mk. 2 is almost sixty percent less likely to jam in comparison to the Mk. 1. The capsules still must be manually input into the loading cylinder, these capsules are kept on an 'ammunition' belt.

There is a second feature simply known as the "Overload" feature that detonates the stored energy within the gauntlet causing a concussive shock wave to be launched forward from the gauntlet. To activate the overload feature, the hand inside of the gauntlet must be quickly squeezed three times, and then the gauntlet must make contact with a rough surface, upon contact the shock wave launches forth causing impressive damage. This feature can only be done once per combat thread and afterwards the gauntlet is inactive.
