What's New Pussycat?[Amaranta, Ryo ]

"Me? Whatever suits your taste buds. I'm not a particularly picky eater. Burger and Fries? Ramen? Pizza? Go nuts. Whatever I do end up buying, I'll probably pay for, anyway."

The sun-kissed lioness waved a hand nonchalantly in response. Considering her nature, human food was consumed wholly for taste and consuming something that differed from the varying flavors of other hollow and anything else she consumed to sate her spirits. Much of her interested lied in following the woman out of her own curiosity, so any type of food was largely inconsequential in the grand scheme. Entertaining company didn't come easy in a town like this from the looks of it, and she wasn't exactly attempting to return to the dull tedium that left her spirits listless moments ago.

"Since you don't strike me as the type for idle chit-chat. Let me cut straight to the chase. What made you approach me? You're not the least intimidated by me or this not your first rodeo?"

Predicting the latter, Amaranta was merely curious about her level of mettle. She wasn't aiming to intimidate her when they crossed paths, of course, but it took some guts to merely approach a strong arrancar and tell them they could challenge and make things problem for them if they weren't maintaining peace. Bold spiit like that was always a welcomed trait in anyone met. That's simply the way she was at heart.

"Ho? In other words, that means you're willing to handle any problem that just steps into full view? Bold. Most who stare danger in the face usually ignore it or run off to avoid it, but that notion doesn't seem to bother you one bit. At the very least, you're brave enough to stare it right in the face. That's a pretty amusing trait to have, if ya ask me."

Indeed, Amaranta didn't quite expect someone to boldly challenge her presence here. The soul reapers and Quincy who typically aimed to maintain balance proved the usual enemies who ordered her to go elsewhere and cautioned her to avoid trouble. At times, some of them simply outright fought her without explanation. Either way, she wasn't quite use to a relative stranger stepping before her to lay down the law. That sort of fiery nature in anyone possed its own charm and appeal, and it certainly elevated her opinion of the crimson-haired woman as they walked together, her nose picking up the various aromatic scents dominating her nostrils. Tilting her head to the side, Amaranta maintained her gaze on the woman as she grinned.

"Do you think you could win against me if we were to throw down, Ry-Ry?"

"Of course it is, but here you were, prepared to engage me without a second thought. That said, you don't strike me as a lady rushing toward her death."

After all, she would've proven that theory true by rushing into conflict with her without a second thought. Of course, Amaranta held zero interest in killing Ryo, to say nothing of harming her. Then again, that didn't mean her approach would've worked so well with other arrancars, and the bronze woman found herself imagining her untimely death. No, that wouldn't do. To her, fighting above one's paygrade meant they must be wholly prepared to match their opponent to some degree. On the other hand, she isn't exactly certain the woman is keen on the idea of sparring with an arrancar. Worth a shot, though, right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Observing the menu items herself, standing behind the crimson-haired woman, she's already decided on her orders.

"That said, even I recognize that certain arrancar won't let your challenge go unanswered. What would it take to get you to become one of my sparring partners?"

"...Nothing slips by you often, does it?"

Keh! This crimson-haired brat was perceptive. From the expression and that subtle hint of smug energy radiating off her smile, Amaranta could tell she knew exactly what her plots were in her response. Answering whether she was worried about something like a "Nah" would've made her foolish for posing the question. Additionally, she had a point. What would Amaranta gain from fighting her? Nothing currently, but the fact that she could potentially in the future was enough to invest in her progress now. Shrugging her arms as though caught in the act, Amaranta flashed a challenging grin as she allowed the woman to pay for their meals.

"Nothing right now, but you strike me as the type of girl who isn't content with her current level of strength. At the same time, I can't tell if you're reckless like I am or someone who knows when to bow out the dance. Since I pride myself on being a straight shooter, I'll just spell it out for ya. I'd like to train with you and test how your mettle can go."

"Heh, well they taught you well, Red. Those who can cut straight to the point without any bullshit are my favorites."

In truth, she valued that trait in those who thought themselves strong. Even those considered weak could impress her well enough with an attitude like that. Compared to those who enjoyed playing coy, it was a consistent breath of fresh air that would never lose its novelty. Even better, her words led Amaranta to believe that she was interested in humoring the thought if nothing else.

"Deal. Let's eat, then, shall we?"

Grinning from ear to ear, the leonine woman bided the remaining time until their meals had been prepared properly, grabbing her plate with one hand as she sat at a table for two, beckoning Ryo to follow as she did. Tossing a spicy sausage into her mouth, she leaned an arm against the table as she resumed their conversation.

"I'm no expert on human customs, but I'm pretty sure most there's a thing or two you want to know about me, right? Any questions, Ry-Ry?"

Red or Ry-Ry. She was still deciding on which one rolled off the tongue better.
