"So it was a mating call, eh? Well fuck me, envy is a bitch."

A gruff snort left her nostrils, vaguely reminiscent of a dragon, as small puffs of smoke oozed out of her nose. Eventually, it gave way to a low chuckle, as even if some parts of her still felt weird and bitter about the encounter, compliments always went a long way to appeasing her envy.

"I'll take the flattery then."

Nodding her head, Veralia folded her arms as she listened to more of what Kurai had to say. If anything, it sounded like it was mental training. Which, in a way, made sense. As she glanced back to the people in the distance, Veralia herself practiced that mindfulness to try and avoid her envy from getting the best of her, as there are more than enough things on earth to grow envious of.

"Makes sense. Gotta train your mind like your body."

Looking back at the horizon, Veralia scratched her head as she reflected on a thought before returning her gaze to Kurai.

"Can't say Earth has all been bad. Plenty to grow envious of, plenty of shit that is more beautiful than Hueco Mundo. Bit of a mixed bag, but I'm learning to get a grip on my aspect of death as well by being here."

Kurai

A mating call… Haha. Yeah, that’s more what it was. Kurai’s small smile never faded. Being able to be around someone who was in control of their sins was so refreshing. Since Veralia had to fight certain aspects of herself, they could relate to the other.

“Earth has an interesting charm to it, one you cannot find in the sands or the forests beneath it,” Kurai said her eyes closing again. Maybe she was relaxing a bit too much, as it sounded like she might even fall asleep. However, she wasn’t really tired. She was just seeing if Veralia would make a move and attack her. Kurai had been back-stabbed many times in the past, so why not now? She was friendless for a reason.

"Are you sure you wanna be falling asleep against someone who was fighting you not too long ago? Bold move."

Veralia's right eyebrow arched upward as she glanced curiously at Kurai. She could have attacked the woman at any moment if she so chose to, but Veralia was more content to gaze into the scenery as she shook her head.

"But I guess that's the charm of earth. It's less fucked up than Hueco Mundo, and you can let your guard down."

Snorting, she would place her hands behind her back and lean back, lounging as her eyebrows furrowed.

"Is that supposed to be some kind of test or something?"

Kurai

It was a test, and it was one that Veralia passed. Kurai had to admit to herself that she was surprised a shot wasn’t taken. Veralia had a place then. There weren’t many on that list. Kurai smirked and opened her eyes to look up at Veralia.

“Maybe,” Kurai said and sat up, clearly fully awake. "You better find whatever it is you're looking for up here. Then, maybe one day, we can both celebrate our goals completed." Kurai stood up from the sand, dusting her backside and her hair off.

“I’ll see you around another time. Until then, stay beautiful,” Kurai winked, a clear moment of flirtation before she turned away and began making her way off.
