Tentō Zefā | The Unrefined Paragon

Hmmmm. Fair fair. Kaminari was right about that, their aim was to find out why it stood out against other hollows. Observation and interaction were the tools for that. And since they couldn't observe it fight or get anything more in another way; combat would most likely be the solution.

He wasn't sure about destroying it though. After all it was a hollow that only gqrmer other hollows. Heck it even was reported that it seemed to avoid harming human environments and didn't bother humans. Such a hollow was a tool for Shinigami possibly. If hollows got rid of hollows and a docile one got rid of troublesome ones. Then no biggie. On the other hand, they had a duty to cleanse souls and thus hollows. But if it wasn't harming humans or the balance why really bother?

If was a back and forth thought in his mind.

After his comments to the unknown hollow was ignored and the string of reminders from Kaminari came. Tento found himself standing blade drawn as he eyed the hollow. Truth be told it felt obvious of what she said, but given the situation. And this being a tight space it was good to keep in mind some details about fighting as a team. Especially with such a powerful opponent before them.

In the stillness of wait. Beetle burstes forward once again. Grabbing onto trees and easily moving before gaining momentum before throwing out a thrust towards its mask. As Beetle moves to do this attack Tento would quickly lend aid. Extending his left hand out to cast Bakudō #9. Hōrin. Using his index and middle fingers, to generates an orange-hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns to ensnare and immobilizes Blackhorn's form. Aiming to cover ite shoulders and below in the kido entanglement
opponent as the tendril wraps around their body.

If this managed to be successful and not get into Beetle's way. Tento would speak the encanation of Hadō #4. Byakurai before letting loose a pulse of high-density spiritual energy through the kido binds. After casting this Tento would shunpo, repositioning himself to approach from the side.

MORIKAWA MIZU | 2nd Division Vice Captain

For her first mission as a Vice Captain, Mizu wasn't sure what to expect. She didn't think it would be some amazing expedition against some mighty force, so she was unbothered by its simplicity. She would be heading to a human world country, [ii]Switzerland, to deal with heightened Hollow activity in the area. Reports described multiple Hollows in the same vicinity, none of which were all that threatening to someone of her abilities. In fact, she wasn't even meant to be the one leading the incursion; a much lower seated officer had been chosen first. Either out of excitement or duty, Mizu felt obligated to snatch up the assignment herself and so she headed to Switzerland through a Senkaimon forthwith.

Mizu stepped cautiously out of the Senkaimon's doorway and into the brisk Swiss air several dozen feet above the ground. From this vantage point she was able to scan the area, her golden eyes washing across the environment, taking in all the information she could. She swiftly took out her Denreishinki and toggled its Hollow scanning capability, revealing two faint dots in the distance which she immediately moved in the direction of, her golden hair and black Shihakushō flapping in the icy wind as she did.

It didn't take long for Vice Captain Morikawa to reach her targets, a duo of moderately sized hulking Hollows with nary an inclination of her arrival as she was restricting her spiritual pressure. I wonder why they are here, away from any nearby cities? There's not even a town in the vicinity. she mused to herself silently. Oh well thought Mizu, have to purify them either way.

Even with her Gentei Reīn, or spiritual limiter, active, Mizu was able to make short work of the pair of Hollows. Utilizing the element of surprise, she was able to swiftly embed her Zanpakuto deep into the mask and skull of one before turning to the other, saying "Hadō #4: Byakurai.", and firing a blue energy beam from a finger team which pierced its head as well. Just like that, both were down for the count, leaving Mizu to put her sword away and scan her surroundings again. Something about this seemed...off. But she couldn't quite place why.

Mizu's Bankai Training!

MORIKAWA MIZU

Over the last year especially, Morikawa Mizu had gone through what's felt like a lifetime of battles and experiences. From fighting Hollows on Earth, to participating in arena battles against Quincies, to teaming up with strangers to take down Goliath monsters in Africa. All of these situations pushed Mizu further than she thought even possible.

She also had the great honor of being mentored by Saiko Mori, a powerful and endearing Shinigami Mizu was happy to call her teacher. This training involved her connecting with the usually-objectionable Shousenmaru, her Zanpakuto, and the more Mizu thought on it the more grateful she became. Between Saiko's unique ability to calm an individual's emotions and her willingness to act as a mediator, Mizu and Shousenmaru had finally been able to connect on a level beyond just knowing each others' names.

Mizu continued reminiscing on these experiences as she sat cross-legged in the Eight Division training yard. She ignored the various sensations of dewy grass ticking her legs and a light breeze touching upon her nose.

She moved beyond her thoughts of the past and concentrated solely on her Zanpakuto laying across her lap. Recently she had been communing with Shousenmaru to not only continue developing their relationship, but to work on unlocking their true power together. Though intimidating, Mizu knew if she were ever to become a great Shinigami she would need Bankai. She didn't have any of the natural talent or power to get along without it like some legendary Captains and Vice Captains had. Even with her Kidō Mizu believed it to be Bankai or bust.

It didn't take long for Mizu's mind to be whisked away from her sitting position in Seireitei and sent to Shousenmaru's world. As she opened her eyes Mizu was surprised by what her eyes were met by. Instead of a bubbling brook dividing two fields and forests, her Inner World had been transformed into a mighty crystalline river cutting through the land like a great sword. As our bond grows, so does the river...

"You can't hide your thoughts from me, Mizu. Might as well speak up. What are you here for today? More power?" The blond Shinigami spun on her heel to face where that angelic voice had come from. Unlike the landscape, Shousenmaru's beautiful blue form was unchanged. Her usual silvery braids still fell across her back and her nearly-nude azure skin reflected in the river beside her.

"If you know my thoughts then you know why I'm here. Bankai is the next step for us both. I understand your concerns about giving more of yourself to me...but I'm a Shinigami! You're my Zanpakuto! If we have each other, the sky's the limit! Imagine how much more we could accomplish with Bankai? Besides, I'll never be a Captain without it!" Shousenmaru could not deny the sincerity in Mizu's voice and soul as she pleaded with her. Obviously she wasn't willing to take no for answer, either...

[color:714f=0066ff]"Fine, Mizu. You seem determined. Time to find out just how determined you are." At this moment Kanae flicked her wrist and summoned a blue version of her sword form in her right hand. Then, Mizu's senses were suddenly overwhelmed and she was knocked off her feet. As quickly as she had been overwhelmed everything was back to normal.

"What the...?" Blinking, Mizu looked around and realized she was back in the Eight squad's training yard. She reached down and pulled out a blade of grass just to be sure, proving she was no longer in her Inner World. "Ahem. Stand, Mizu. Or perish!" With a start Mizu jumped to her feet and drew her already-released Zanpakuto. She was given barely enough time to lift her weapon before Shousenmaru appeared in front of her and slashed downwards.

Mizu was shocked by the situation she found herself in, but it was not entirely alien to her. She had read about the requirement for unlocking Bankai before, Materializing and subjugating one's Zanpakuto. Now Shousenmaru was materialized, but subjugating her? H-how can I do that?! she wondered, flabbergasted at the very idea of defeating this woman.

"If this is how it has to be, then I won't hold anything back!" roared Mizu as she split her Zanpakuto into a considerable number of crystal shards. Then, with a flourish of her hand, she commanded all these shards to fly at her opponent like a massive wave of glass. This amounted to little as Shousenmaru countered with a great wall of crystal, off of which Mizu's shards bounced harmlessly with audible PING's.

With anger in her eyes the blue-skinned spirit reshaped her wall of crystal into many intricately-carved spears and then flung them at her wielder effortlessly. Mizu quickly found herself overwhelmed even as she Flash Stepped around, narrowly dodging the spears by the skin of her teeth. She was not accustomed to this level of precise control and power with her Shikai, though she wasn't surprised Shousenmaru would have better control over her powers than herself.

With nary a motion to indicate she was about to do so, the spirit shattered all the spears impaled in the ground and sent the massive wave of shards directly at Mizu. Knowing countering the wave was an exercise in futility, Mizu instead aimed her free hand directly for Shousenmaru and let of a spell, something she knew a Zanpakuto spirit could not replicate "Hadō #4: Byakurai!" From her finger tip a bolt of blue lightning shot at the spirit. To Mizu's shock, a segment of crystal shards formed a barrier between the spell and the blue woman, which caused the Byakurai to reflect off its surface and rebound at her. "Huh?!"

When her own spell reached her Mizu jumped left, leaving only her arm and sleeve to be singed by it. "Since when can the crystals do that, Shousenmaru?!" A disappointed look crossed the Zanpakuto spirit's face as she didn't even bother answering her wielder's question. This was their true power, and Mizu not realizing it meant, to Shousenmaru, she wasn't ready for Bankai. This could apparently only be made clear to her through beating the notion out of her though, and Shousenmaru knew it.

The torrent of crystal shards suddenly changed shape again, this time into two gigantic azure walls on either side of Mizu. With a wave of her hands the spirit had them move in a pincer attack meant to crush the blond Shinigami between them. Mizu countered with her own walls of crystal, albeit smaller violet ones she struggled to keep Shousnmaru's at bay with. Cracks began to form in her walls and Mizu frantically searched for a way out. Time for old reliable!

Mizu raised her left hand and shouted another incantation "Hadō #31: Shakkahō!" Instead of the expected sphere of energy, the spell's power rapidly built up before suddenly exploding and enveloping Mizu, her own crystal walls, and Shousenmaru's as well. This violet eruption shattered all the crystal constructs and sent her smoking and blackened body flying into the ground below. Mizu grimaced from pain as she dragged herself back to her feet. Though she was beginning to tire and was struggling through pain, she knew it wasn't in her to quit here. "Enough, Mizu. You're not ready. Maybe you'll never be ready. Either way, just give up." From her reliable partner these words were like knifes in her ears, but Mizu stood determined and sedulous in the face of overwhelming odds.

Seeing the intensity in her wielder's eyes, Shousenmaru decided it was time to end things and so she repeated her previous attack by reforming two massive crystal walls that began tightening around Mizu. Mizu however was deep in thought. I've fought people stronger than me before, this is no different! Come on, think! I need to get past her Shikai and defeat her up close...wait, that could work! Better than nothing at least! After racking her brain Mizu formulated a rudimentary plan and immediately set to work.

Much to Shousenmaru's surprise, Mizu turned to face the crystal wall to her left and raised her Zanpakuto "Hadō #32: Ōkasen!" As she said this a yellow light enveloped her weapon before spreading and firing a wave of energy at the wall. "Fool! You already know how this ends!" Her disappointment in Mizu turned to surprise again as the spell reflected and missed the Shinigami as she dodged out of the way. The spell continued on before bouncing off the other wall as well. This continued on even as the walls moved closer to each other, causing the Ōkasen to hasten in its bouncing like a ping pong ball.

The blue-skinned woman watched on with confusion and interest as Mizu stood idly while she came closer and closer to being crushed. Then the Shinigami waved her blade-less Zanpakuto and suddenly her plan became clear: Mizu met the rebounding spell with a crystal wall of her own, causing it to reflect and fire directly at Shousenmaru at a heightened speed. The yellow beam of energy shot at her like a bullet, moving far more quickly through the air than she was prepared to deal with and before long she felt her raised arms struck by the spell's might.

Though not sent flying, the following explosion completely enveloped the Zanpakuto spirit and left her in pain and without sight due to the cloud of smoke around her. Knowing Mizu was going to take this chance to land another attack, Shousenmaru quickly formed a crystal blade in her hand and prepared to swing it overhead. Then, a strange sensation warmed her breast as the smoke cleared. In its wake stood Mizu, sweat and blood on her brow, panting from exerting herself...and her sword pierced through the center of Shousenmaru's chest.

Shousenmaru felt no pain from her wound, only warmth like that of meeting a long lost friend. She extended her arm and clasped Mizu's head before speaking her congratulations to her wielder "You've done it, Mizu. I should not have doubted you...now, take my power and see what we're really capable of!" A bright light cloaked Shousenmaru head to toe, as well as Mizu's weapon, before quickly dissipating and leaving the young woman alone in the dark. Her Zanpakuto had reverted back to its sealed state, but Mizu could feel in her soul she had done it. She had unlocked her Bankai. And, with a sigh of relief, she collapsed to the ground and fell unconscious, a smile on her lips as she did.

MORIKAWA MIZU

Mizu nodded her head Hana thanked her. Considering how far behind everyone else she'd been for practically her entire life, to be able to offer any amount of assistance for another Shinigami was both a great honor and highly gratifying for her. Of course she didn't even consider the possibility of laughing at or mocking this woman just because she's not as good as she'd like to be, and the deadly-serious look on the diminutive blond's face showed this. Mizu was as focused as she could be on analyzing Hana's form and energy output as she cast her spell.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, Aoyama-san! Besides the fact I'm positive you have many great attributes that make you a worthy Shinigami, confidence is really important when using Kidō. If you think you can't swing a sword, you won't be able to swing a sword; the same applies to Demon Arts!" Mizu took a moment to consider her next words before continuing on "What helps me is to consider Kidō as like a symbiotic living force. If you're meek, it will be meek. If you're confident, it will be confident! You have to focus on your energy, focus that energy into the spell, and know exactly how you want to use that spell."

To emphasize her point Mizu turned to another training dummy and extended a finger in its direction "Hadō #4: Byakurai!" Her golden gaze and casting arm never wavered as an azure bolt of energy fired from her fingertip which pierced the dummy's midsection as though it weren't there. "Stay focused, and follow through. Now! Try again, Aoyama-san!"

As the beginning observation of the scene in the aftermath of this unknown battle ended. The puzzle pieces laid to bear, only requirement now was for them to be collected and pieced together. Step one of the pieces; where was these two hollows now when this fighting done? There were no signs to where they had led beyond this initial picture of the path. The footprints, the dried hollow blood, the echoes of destruction. That was all they really had, they could feel energy that lingered in this area, but sadly unnoticeable in the case of feeling where these creatures were as the three moved together.

Beetle looked ready, looking around on guard. There was most certainty a heavy uncomforted in the air earlier that was still present now. To the point she drew her sword. Tento would choose to keep his hands free, at least for now.

As they walked Tento tried to be somewhat aware. Keeping an eye out for strange sights and his ears for sudden noises. The radar in his mind metaphorically was not going off in a declaration of bursting or an active energy. So all he could do was actively use his physical tools while keeping his spiritual ones on auto-pilot. Drip....drippp....DRIP. It was sudden but it radioed to his ears, causing a slight twitch as the dark crimson blood from the hidden hollow somewhere touched the ground. Painting the white ground with a red snowy glow that mirrored that of a delicious snow cone. IT was coming! "HEY! Something is-", Tento tried to call out a verbal warning but it was already out. His voice speaking in good reaction but the lack of foretime in the call caused him to be late. Acideyes's swift movement came into view, leaping from its hiding spot. In the sound of shuffling feet, tossed snow, and creaking nature. Tento turned to the source to see Beetle before him. Blue energy clamoring her hands in a ready power of defensive reinforcement. A SLAM meeting her efforts as the colossal weight shook her legs and arms.

Beetle moved, meeting this hollows aggression with a counter of her own. Taking the moment she was pushed back to draw back a charged fist to punch this BEAST of a hollow. Tento would move, not being one to sit by. He would quickly move to try and cover Beetle as she went to pick up her Zanpakuto. Throwing out an kido spell, Hadō #4. Byakura from his left hand to aim at one of the hollow's legs. His index finger raising as a quick jolt of high density spiritual energy shot forward in a bolt of lightening from overhead of Beetle. Its power cut in half due to the lack of incantation.

MORIKAWA MIZU

Is that...? Mizu was surprised by Solomon's arrival, of all people to run into in this situation she didn't expect it to be him. After all, they had only just recently met, and the world is a big place. Or based on his entrance, maybe it's smaller than she thinks. She didn't, couldn't remain distracted by his presence for long however as Criella killed two more bystanders. Mizu was hardly surprised by an Arrancar killing people and just being evil, after all to her it's the one thing they all have in common, but witnessing it in person always set her off.

Mizu understood more than most that her absolute first priority as a Shinigami is to protect the living. She held this duty in the absolute highest esteem, and would never shirk it; thus she knew she needed to prevent any more collateral damage in the form of dead humans. "Solomon, deal with the Arrancar! I've got the people and the Hollow!" Mizu made sure to already be Flash Stepping forward as she yelled this to the Quincy.

Bakudō #4: Hainawa!" As she sprinted and formed a tendril of energy in each hand, Mizu made as if she planned on using the spell on Baskin. At the last moment, she changed her trajectory and wrapped both energy ropes around the linked-together group of people. Using every ounce of strength and speed she could manage Mizu pulled the group together into a single mass of limbs and frightened screams. She then spun on her heel and placed both of her hands out as she rapidly formed a plain Kidō barrier around the humans. She followed this up by adding another layer to it, this one made of many connected hexagons to form a stronger outside wall. Standing in front of the huddled humans, just outside the barrier, Mizu turned her attention to Baskin the Hollow and readied herself for whatever comes next.

MORIKAWA MIZU

This thing is relentless! thought Mizu as she noticed even with a torn off arm it wasn't ready to flee. Mizu could practically sense the creature's anger radiating off it like an aura, it's spiritual pressure clearly displaying it's wrath. But wrath alone would not win it the day. Mizu took advantage of the gap she had created between the two to prepare for it's headlong blitz. With electricity still running along her Zanpakuto she dropped to one knee and placed her left hand on the ground, which caused a very subtle pulse of Reishi to spread out from her as she whispered a couple words loud enough for only herself to hear.

Mizu stood back up and held her electrified Zanpakuto with one hand and kept her other hanging in the air with purpose. Just...need to wait...and time it right..." Sweat, both from increased ambient temperature and her own anxiety about her plan, knowing if it goes wrong she may find herself immediately in extreme danger, covered her brow. Her grip on her weapon caused her knuckles and fingers to first turn shades of red before changing to white. This is it....

Now! With Canguro just a short distance away, Mizu jumped into action and immediately aimed her left hand at the ground "Bakudō #4: Hainawa!" From her hand a crackling yellow rope of Reishi would fire at the ground, where it would connect with the Kidō net she had placed a few moments prior. Then, with a yank, she would pull the net up, causing it to leapfrog off the ground and hopefully wrap around Canguro too late for it to dodge. At the same time she touched her electrified weapon to the Hainawa rope in her send, which sent a charge of electricity through it and to the net, igniting the Fushibi spell she had cast quietly while kneeling on the ground. This ignition would lead to a significant explosion across the entire net, and with any luck would cause debilitating damage to the Hollow while still wrapped in the trap she'd set for it.

MORIKAWA MIZU

Yes! Yes! Yes! We're doing it...! Considering the great heft of the creature called Letterboxer, as well as it's awesome destructive power, Mizu was surprised at how successful this makeshift team was so far. Their latest attacks had managed to cause significant damage to the Hollow, or at least that was her impression of things. Both the demon and Quincy seemed to be able to hold their own, and while Mizu knew she was outgunned on this battlefield at least her spells had prevented Kokuto from being struck by another attack. "This could work!"

When the broken horn crashed into the ground it's incredible mass caused tremors noticeable enough to distract Mizu as she lost her balance. Letterboxer's wails were deafening, and if it wasn't for an entire city being reduced to smoking rubble Mizu almost would have felt sorry for the distressed beast. That is, until she sensed energy gathering once again at it's mouth, foretelling another mighty Cero coming from the beast. At this moment Mizu looked around and observed the entire battlefield covered in the white ash it had been igniting with Ceros and realization of what was to come contorted her face into a look of great alarm.

As quick as she could Mizu surrounded herself in a hastily summoned Kidō barrier. In a flash the entire area was draped in a blinding white light, and it's accompanying blast rattled and cracked her barrier. Sweat covered her as she felt a terrible heat emanating from the explosion which her Kidō barrier could do little about. Knowing she could not remain still in such a serious fight Mizu, with eyes closed and body rattling from force of the blast Letterboxer's Cero triggered, she came up with another strategy. It was evident, at least so far, even with the three hitting the beast simultaneously they likely lacked the firepower to defeat it in a single strike. In that case, wearing it down and doing as much damage as possible was the best path forward.

Even as Mizu could feel the earth and air around her shaking from Letterboxer's mighty thrashing she rushed forward the instant she would no longer be blinded by opening her eyes. She hopped from rubble pile to rubble pile, Flash Stepping where she could, and gripped her trusty Shousenmaru tightly to maintain her focus. Mizu didn't notice the feelings she felt as she narrowly dodged the repeated swinging and shaking of the Hollow's body. She did not feel fear, as she might have expected herself to. No, she felt determined. Confident. She knew things would work out because they must work out. And because for maybe the first time ever, she felt strong. Or, at least, strong enough to make a difference.

Spying a flat surface, possibly the remains of a building's floor, directly underneath Letterboxer's midsection, Mizu Flash Stepped as quickly as she could to it before dropping and sliding so that she now lay on her back, her Zanpakuto pointed directly up at the mighty beast. As she had been running Mizu had used the opportunity to channel Reishi onto the tip of her weapon in preparation to cast another spell. "Hadō #4: Byakurai!" she roared, immediately firing the energy from Shousenmaru in the form of a dozen separate casts of the same spell. These twelve bolts of blue lightning were aimed at different points on the bottom side of Letterboxer's from her chin to tail. Importantly, they would all strike simultaneously and, Mizu hoped, would cause widespread pain and burns on it's skin.

MORIKAWA MIZU

Despite her heightened emotional state from witnessing these monsters continue to lay waste to what must have been an awe-inspiring city, Mizu shrugged off the Quincy's taunts as she refused to allow infighting to harm their cooperation. "I apologize if my actions upset you, Quincy-san. I only wish to defeat this creature and I know we can do it if we work together!" With her golden eyes burning with determination Mizu observed as her newfound allies leapt into action.

With Lukas unleashing a torrent of electricity and Kokuto hitting the Hollow with an inferno of fire, Mizu was grateful for their power. They would need everything at their disposal to defeat a monster like this. Can't let up, I have to do what I can as well!

With a strategy in mind Mizu Flash Stepped a moderate distance away from Lukas so as to not make them an easy target for the Hollow's next attack. Upon landing on a large boulder jutting from the ground, no doubt a remnant of what was once a populated building now entirely unrecognizable, Mizu gathered spiritual energy in both hands and held them out in opposite directions. In her left hand an orange blaze enveloped her fingers, and in her right a blue sphere of fiery power with a tinge of red quickly did the same.

As Kokuto's last attack finished Mizu unleashed her own, allowing no time to recover for the Hollow if it needed it. "Bakudō #9: Hōrin! Hadō #4: Byakurai! Go!" The Shinigami woman simultaneously unleashed two spells, causing an orange tendril of energy to burst forth from her left hand as a blaze of blue energy did the same from her right. Her plan was for these spells to strike at the same location underneath the Hollow's great skull. She doubted her Byakurai would manage to do much damage, but that wasn't her objective anyway; upon the two spells hitting Letterboxer, a great red Kidō net would suddenly spring from the blue energy and wrap around the beast's head. Hōrin's chain would then connect to the net and provide a direct connection to the Hollow for Mizu.

Hōrin would provide much slack for it's caster so as to not force her into a contest of strength with a monster surely many, many times stronger than her. Instead it's purpose would be made clear as she then cast yet another spell "Hadō #63! Raikōhō!" With both hands firmly latched onto the tendril she'd created, a sudden swelling of yellow energy would surround them as bolts of lightning shot out harmlessly in every direction. After a moment of powering up this energy would be discharged and channeled through the tendril as it raced toward Letterboxer, before finally spreading through the Kidō net and sending a huge, at least for Mizu, burst of lightning across and through it's entire head.

Immediately after her latest spell would finish dissipating both the net and tendril she created would do the same. Sweat formed at her brow as Mizu found herself panting, somewhat exhausted from her rapid successive usage of Shinigami magic. Though only one of her spells had been of a high number, the sheer scale to which she stretched the others had done a number on her Reishi reserves. She hoped, for all their sake, her strategy had helped in some way.

MORIKAWA MIZU

As the smoke cleared and her burnt foe's visage became visible Mizu was glad her scheme had turned out reasonably well. If she had to get injured in the process, well for Mizu that was just a natural consequence of battle. Now though she would have to go back to the drawing board. If Solomon got within range again she may be able to go for a repeat performance but Mizu was well aware if she tried it too much she may end up with much more severe injuries than she could handle. And so as he seemingly challenged her to show something new, she took the time to formulate a new strategy.

After a deep sigh Mizu gritted her teeth and prepared to send everything she had at this Quincy. If her next actions didn't work she would have to significantly change up how she approached this battle. First she raised her injured arm and pointed her hand in the direction of the rubble kicked up from her miscast spell which consisted of chunks of stone ranging in size from a fist to a bench, and said aloud "Hadō #57: Daichi Ten'yō!". The rubble would then float, almost telekinetically, and all be launched at Solomon's location. The precision capability of the spell would allow Mizu to have the stones follow him if he dodged.

At the same time as the stones were being flung at Solomon, Mizu was also channeling magic through her Zanpakuto. From Shousenmaru's tip she was firing consecutive Hadō #4. Byakurai's at the Quincy. These azure energy bolts were faster than the rubble and she hoped if one hit, the stones would strike their target true, and vice versa. Throughout all of this, between each cast of Byakurai, Mizu would flash step to about fifteen feet away. Her goal was to make the battlefield as chaotic as possible, and it seemed to be working.

With the area drowning in pandemonium Mizu suddenly stopped using both these spells and took advantage of the mayhem to approach the Quincy as quick as she possibly could using Flash Step. Once within range Mizu would raise her Zanpakuto, on which yellow energy was gathering, and shout the name of her true attack with a fierce, wild look on her face: "Hadō #78: Zangerin!!" By swiping her weapon in a wide arc all the gathered energy would be released in a blast more powerful than any individual spell she had used thus far. The arc of energy would widen significantly and could cause significant damage. Though she knew this would almost certainly drain her of much of her energy, Mizu did not want to keep repeating the same moves over and over until eventually collapsing out of exhaustion anyway.
