The Liberated Flame

Kimitsuki was extremely relieved to see the small demon. Indeed, her appearance had shifted. However, it was clear to Kimi that she was Hiroi; even if her hair and eyes were now purple. It was rather charming, really. The demon nodded at what Hiroi said. Indeed, it was true; Kimi would've wanted her to stay here until her return to the house. After all... Well, the worst had happened; the King of Vastime had fallen. Kimitsuki looked at her friend, this dear Danava of hers, and gave her a small smile. It was a sincere smile, but her eyes were clearly filled with a profound sadness that needed no words. However, Kimi still managed to smile so... warmly despite the despair that had clearly filled her being; despite the emotions that tore through her so recklessly.
However, when Hiroi asked her if she was alright; it was hard for Kimitsuki to fight back a wave of tears as she fell to her knees and pulled Hiroi into a hug with little warning. Her sobs were silent as the Danava's shoulders shook gently as tears quietly rolled down her cheeks and off her face. However, she did no more than that and hug Hiroi. She did not ask for anything; just for her continued presence as she silently buried her face into Hiroi's shoulder. After a few moments, the demon composed herself and gave Hiroi a warm smile once again."I... I'll be fine, Hiroi... You being here helps. It helps a lot... But, for now.."
Kimitsuki stopped speaking for a little bit, breathing slowly to gather herself a bit; to prevent herself from losing her composure again. For Kimi, it was easy to relax herself around Hiroi and just... let go. However, she didn't have time for crying right now. If Hayden was really gone, if Death
had taken his form and was to make a conquest for the surface; she had to make sure Hiroi was safe. Perhaps Minatumi... She wasn't sure where to go for now, but she knew they had to leave."For now... We need to leave Vastime. I'm sure you can feel what's happening... That presence took someone close to me; and I refuse to let it take you too."
Without warning again, she pecked Hiroi on the forehead before she stood up, once more moving around their home to gather clothing for the pair of them; some extra food for their journey, and a few other things that they would need. She had no idea if they would come back; so a few valuables were packed into safety. Otherwise, Kimitsuki took the things that she could reasonably carry and gave Hiroi a warm smile."Hiroi, do you need to pack up anything? Once you're done, we can leave; I'm sure there's some place we can go for a little bit. I've heard of a few places that won't mind demons. Tell me when you're ready, and we can go~"
She gave Hiroi a smile once again. She dearly cared for Hiroi, to a surprising level, really. However, such affection made it clear to Kimitsuki that she would not lose Hiroi like she had just possibly lost Hayden. Kimitsuki refused to lose someone precious to her to a beast like Death. Kimitsuki just hoped that she could return and be of use to Vastime, to Hayden, once more. However, Hiroi's safety took utmost priority.
