ENTER CALYPSO'S POST

Artist: SilvaGunner - Song: Hip Shop

Calypso was trying her hardest to dispose of the bats, however some way into her movements did she notice two things: The monstrous demon didn't make even a single attempt to stop her, and out of her peripheral did she notice the torn up bat bits simply.. Reform into even more bats. She immediately stopped her attacks, taking the scratches and bites without much issue - they were more like bee stings than anything life-threatening.

Tearing them apart won't work...

Immediately, she shifted gears. If ripping them to shreds didn't work, then maybe trapping them will! She'd worry about the creature's odd behavior later, right now she needed to quickly prevent this swarm from getting any larger. Her energies focused, mind engaged, she would gesture her hands, and suddenly with a rush of power did the bulk of the swarm suddenly become trapped within a bubble. She doubted they would be strong enough to burst it - they had numbers, not brute strength. She would proceed to continue forming smaller bubbles to trap any she had missed, trying to work as fast as possible to eliminate threats. Just because they weren't a bother to her doesn't mean that they should be brushed off - it's possible they could cause great harm to the far less fortified members of the squad.

However, her work was interrupted when she saw the creature suddenly lash out with a disgusting, gorey show, a long meaty tendril that shot through several squad members and the Commander himself. Her heart dropped as she saw them just as quickly slurped up into the creature's body, her feet moving before her mind did, closing the short distance she had with the creature, multiple dark tendrils flaring from her spine, rigid with anger as she would slam against the front of her creature, her taloned feet digging into it's rotten, bulbous thighs to keep her from being so easily moved.

This wasn't an attempt to knock the creature over, rather she had her claws already largening somewhat, dug into the creature's stomach as her tendrils moved to restrain it's arms, wrapping around them as tightly as possible to keep them pinned against it's sides, righteous anger radiating from the demon as she got as good a grip as she could without being careless with the stomach area. She knew if she wasn't careful, she could stab anyone who was still alive inside, and this effort to save them would be all for naught.

"HEY! PINK GUY!"

She had to single someone out, and even if he may hate her guts, anyone with half a mind would know this was to save his comrades, besides, he probably was capable of a clean shot. She had to put faith in it.

"CUT THIS THING'S HEAD OFF NOW!"

With a strained yell, she would rake the creature's disgusting stomach. She didn't care what foulness spilled out on her, she didn't care if it burned or hurt or ate away at her like a plague. People were in danger, and she had to do something about it - she couldn't let innocent lives be taken right before her eyes anymore.

You wont die.
You won't die.
I will fight so it won't happen again.

INFANT ELDER GOD

What ensued in front of Ky'rin was... interesting to say the least. From it looked it, it was assigned a babysitter in the form of a young-looking boy that had taken it upon himself to claim himself its guardian due to some orders given by some schmuck, who was now dead by the way. You know, if he was more preoccupied with protecting himself rather than assuming the dangers that Ky'rin could or couldn't bring upon them, maybe he wouldn't have gotten impaled. What's the saying the mortals use?

Oh. Survival of the fittest.

Anyways, it watched in sheer boredom as Calypso attempted to try and take down the demon herself, or at least was doing something to hurt it. Honestly, Ky'rin didn't understand why she was going to throw her life away for these people that have been treating them like shit but whatever. As she would cry out for help, Ky'rin felt sort of obligated to help her out.

"████ ███ ██ ███" Ky'rin tried to pry Saisei's hand off of it but failed spectacularly since there was a clear gap in their strength. It looked like the elder god wasn't going to get to get closer to the big guy, and instead is being dragged around by some idiot killing fodder. Well, she's was going to have to make do.

Looking around, Ky'rin saw that some of these humans were wielding giant glowing bows. While it had no experience actually using any sort of weapon, they did seem that hard to user. But they were tiny, shooting tiny arrow, Ky'rin was going to need something larger.

Invoking Rebirth, Ky'rin would create a quincy bow 10 meters tall. This was large enough to and did stick into the ground, causing it to shake a bit. Stretching out its arms, the elder god would grab onto the string and form a notched arrow, the size of it being proportionate to the bow. As Saisei would drag it, the bow would pull farther and farther back the farther it was moved assuming it was moved.

"Move out of the way. I cannot aim."

With that brief warning, Ky'rin let go and let the arrow fly, tearing up the ground around it as it headed in the direction of the giant demon.

Saisei Satō | Lookin' For His Place In Life

This was nothing but a mess at this point. Demons had found their ways among their ranks, this little being was straddling his side and his fellow men were finding themselves surrounded. Jefferson was supposed to be simple and straight forward, clearly that had changed rather quickly. As the boy tore through the mass of demons that found themselves heading towards him, he couldn't help but think how dangerous the situation had become. If he didn't know better, he'd figure Richard was the real target of this attack.

The sickening sound of flesh squirming under pressure filled the air, Saisei's head turning on a dime as he watched the world around them unfold. The demon that previously seemed busy with their unwelcomed guest had dislodged their entire being. From it came a spike of sorts, finding its way directly within the chest cavity of their leadership. As if the spike had never existed, it swallowed itself and whatever it pierced almost instantaneously. A mess, Saisei couldn't see this little situation as anything but a big 'ol disgusting mess.

"Huh?"

The child that was previously forced by his side had quickly conjured their own spirit weapon, something that it should have zero capability of doing. Despite that, the ten meter giant of a bow planted itself against the earth with ease. Turning towards Loukas and then back to the tiny being, Saisei clenched his fists and grew angrier by the second. If it weren't for their guests things may have been easier to handle, easier to expect. This ambush was the last thing on his mind when it occurred. What could he do in the eyes of what seemed to be defeat?

The demon girl that latched herself to their group had called out to him. Well, she called out to his hair, it was obvious who she referred to given Saisei was the only pink-haired being in a mile radius. She called for his aid. He wouldn't help for the sake of her but for the sake of his allies. Shaking his head, Saisei turned to the little being as it drew the bow back, using his own strength as leverage. This was a hassle, one that the boy had no planned for. Not in the slightest.

"Alright."

It was better late than never, he thought. His time spent with Helle and his fellow recruits left him only yearning for more strength. With that came his ability to understand what it truly meant to be a Quincy. As someone aiming for the highest of echelons, it was only right to begin from the starting line.

"Might wanna stand clear if you get the chance." Saisei yelled out towards the Asthavon, despite his disdain he couldn't help but want to see no more blood shed among his group.

Releasing his reiatsu and gathering it in a single, pinpoint area within his hand, Saisei drew the ten meter bow to its full length, the bow itself audibly aching at the strain the boy and tiny being were putting on it. With a single, quick breath, the arrow that Ky'rin had previously notched left their hands at a speed that, frankly, couldn't be compared to those in battle. Not only was the bow released and the arrow sent flying, Saisei allowed the energy that he previously conjured to follow with it. Similar to how a Quincy would shoot an arrow, Saisei used his own energy to replicate his fellow brethren.

Though he may not be a Quincy yet, he was well on his way to a future in which he would be a Quincy known by all.

If the arrow were to aim true and land, it would carry the brunt of Saisei's pure energy and the draw strength of the ten meters it which it stood tall. The strength of the bow was all too clear as well, the sound of its release nearly deafening the around directly behind it in which Saisei and Ky'rin stood. Looking around him, the boy did his best to assess the situation now that his Commander was gone. He would have to take the initiative once this beast was felled.

"If you're still in fighting order, our best bet is to move together. First thing first, the hunk of meat needs to go down. Second, we need to move our way to Omega 3."

This mess was going to get cleaned one way or another, Saisei refused to allow it to stay as is.

i'm about to drop off,
drift into a deep fog

Despite the chaotic scene around him, despite all the certain injuries people were acquiring, the sudden scent of a large amount of blood still caught the sueki's attention. Loukas nearly dropped his dagger as his nostrils flared and his saliva glands worked overtime, turning around in a daze to look at the source of the delicious scent just in time to see Commander Richards be yanked towards the giant demonic monster and, along with a few of the bats, be swallowed whole.

Instantly, Loukas felt his stomach churn, grip loosening enough to drop his dagger this time, not that he'd noticed yet. His formerly open mouth that had been near to drooling snapped shut as he covered it with a single gloved hand. The idea that he'd been that distracted by a living being's blood.... sickening. Almost as sickening as the sight of said living being being so clearly impaled and then eaten whole.

He didn't have the luxury to just stand there in shock, though. Even though the blood haze in his brain was still not completely cleared up, Loukas leaned down and snatched his dagger back up, gripping it as tightly as he could with his hands shaking ever so lightly. As quick as he could, he dashed closer to Saisei's side in a burst of red mist, hanging back a little bit behind him as he downed one of the glass vials of blood he was carrying in order to gain some sense of clarity back, throwing the bottle over to the side after he finished it.

Loukas had gotten there just in time to witness the spectacle that was the small child... thing... summoning a giant version of a bow, mouth dropping for a different reason than it had moments before as Saisei pulled it back and shot at the big one with it.

He couldn't help a small, quiet exclamation of awe, but pulled himself back from getting lost in gazing at the spectacle. After all, there was still their whole mission to get though, even with the loss of the Commander. Loukas stepped forward, even closer to Saisei, brandishing his dagger once more at the other boy's call for those still able to fight.

Jefferson | Bravo 1

“Calypso Asthavon. What a waste. You know, I’m a bit of a glutton, taking things and spitting them back out.”

Its voice was just as distorted as its body, sounding like multiple people with their throats ripped out trying to talk in a scraping gurgling manner. Calypso’s attempts at digging into its stomach didn’t even seem to disturb the creature as acidic stomach fluids and pus squirted out from each puncture onto her. However, it felt wrong hitting the creature. Every attack from the angered Quincy and such did nothing to anger it. It seemed to inflate from the pressure of everyone’s attempts, the captured bats frantically trying to escape their bubbly prisons. Even the demons that were so determined to kill everyone around began to quiver before they changed their tactic on the spot. They began running frantically, here, there, and everywhere. Each demon began to unleash their energy, some dying on the spot as it looked like their very soul had fled from their body. Then came the anguished screams of those souls, the pained voices of Plus that were forced to reincarnate as Hellish creatures simply existed around the Quincy now. They cried, they screamed, they whispered, they sang. Each one seemed to cling to something, whether it be a person or debris, asking to be saved from their tormentor. They all said a name: Alvah.

Suddenly, Calypso would feel herself sink into the demon she had stuck herself to, his face contorting and twisting until, with a sickening crunch, snap, and rip, its face opened wide, wider than seemed physically possible. As the arrow is let loose, the demon howled happily as its stomach fell open, washing Calypso in fluids that burned her hardened skin. Her body is sinking quickly, as if something is sucking her into the fat demon like a straw being slurped on. Then, once that arrow connected, it simply broke apart, the energies colliding with a force unseen that unraveled the seams of that arrows existence and drew it into the crumbling demon’s skin. The souls all about let loose one long ghastly wail as they were sucked up by this powerful force that continued to expand, pulling everyone towards it like a black hole. Then, the suction stopped, but the demon is still expanding, its body continuing to inflate like a balloon. Anyone with a brain should know what is to come next. The question is: will they be able to escape in time?

“Goodbye.”

Its final word after barely speaking, the demon could say nothing else as its body exploded, the energy and souls conjuring into a single mass of raw explosive energy that tore the atmosphere asunder, ripped the black ground apart, and tore through any living being that could not flee fast enough. Up into the sky the energy would rise, allowing for people from far away to even catch a glimpse of its marvelous dismantling of everything. And, once it was all over, the area all around was reduced to nothing but barely stable rubble. Who had lived? Who had died? Who cares in the end?

"...What?"

The thing spoke. The thing, spoke. It was a hideous, gurgled voice of many, as if he was using the throats of many to speak to her, but the thing SPOKE. Something was wrong here, something was very wrong, she could feel it. Through her senses, she could tell.. Whoever got slurped up into the beast... They definitely were dead now. She didn't even sense emotions of terror anymore, they were dead. Dead. Dead.

Get it through your head, they're gone. There's nothing else you can do for them.

That old sensation came crawling back to her like an inner demon, but was pushed away. Now was not the time to grieve. Her claws felt the sting of the monster's putrid flesh, but she would retract her claws. There was nothing to rip out, after all - she had to change tactics... Was it getting bigger?

It's getting bigger.

A fast, exasperated thought brushed her mind as her instincts were aflame - Danger. Danger. She could practically hear the tiny scream of her nerves, calling to run-run-run-run-run. The tiny demons around them were suddenly.. Dying, just dying, and calling one name - Something was definitely wrong and she had to get herself and everyone too close away from this thing NOW. She immediately moved to unravel herself from the creature, managing to release her tendrils from it's arms, however found difficulty removing her hands and feet. It was like the flesh was melting like putty, the woman panting heavily as she growled, hissing a low curse, until she suddenly sensed an incredible jump of energy behind her, and a warning from the boy.

She didn't need to look to know it was a big attack that would probably fuck her up if she remained in it's path. She settled down, focused herself, lengthening her limbs and forcing the stuck appendages to shrink back, but let out a fierce, pained growl as filthy, stinging liquid suddenly poured out on her. A lot of her skin was reduced to black, ragged shapes bubbling with pained eyes forming as her flesh moved to fix itself.

She ripped herself out of the creature, definitely leaving some pieces of her essence behind, but she had no time to focus on that. She slammed flat as she could on the ground to avoid the shot, feeling tremors in her chest as the impact and the energy sailing narrowly above her occurred, immediately getting back to moving. She maneuvered herself with long, shadowy tendrils as her torn feet were in the middle of being reformed, actively fighting against the suction force it's agape stomach formed as she would then forcibly chuck herself towards the rest of the squad, quickly righting herself as she would call,

"STAY TOGETHER AND BACK AWAY! STAY AS CLOSE TOGETHER AS YOU CAN!"

Her form was rapidly shifting to one far less human, her eyes shining bright, but the look in them shared the same pleading, soft sentiment of what thought went through her mind,

Please listen to me, i'm trying to save your lives. I don't want more of you to die.

Form she took:
Spoiler:

As the situation reached a fever pitch, her form suddenly burned with energy, having transformed into a bird-like dragon who's feathers looked as if one was peering into the cosmos themselves, as she hurriedly eclipsed the party with her larger body if they followed her direction (If any didn't and hadn't some way of protecting themselves, there wasn't much she could do about it), her shimmering wings acting as a wall and being coated with her hardened scales as she focused her energies out and around the group. She acted quickly and concisely, not skipping a beat as she would ensure protective measures were together.

Barrier. Barrier. BARRIER.

A bubble, similar to what she had formed around the bats had formed around them, however she took time to augment the shit out of the bubble, making it thicker and stronger than normal, hopefully strong enough to take the brunt of the explosion at the very least even if she didnt have enough time to make certain of it. And, if it wasn't enough, her body should be enough to make up for it's shattering, squeezing her eyes shut and thoroughly blanketing anyone under her with her body and wings as she saw everything go white.

INFANT ELDER GOD

Ky'rin watched, for that was all it could do.

Yeah, sure, Ky'rin could have created something, but it didn't really understand why it would. From where it was standing, it could witness the enemy get larger, and larger, but could register that maybe it was an attack. If anything, it was odd that it was increasing in size despite there being an arrow-sized hole in its body. Like trying to inflate a basketball with a leak, something that wasn't going to work realistically. However, as unrealistic as it was, it was happening.

As Calypso called out for a barrier, only then did Ky'rin act. There was a good chance that the people that stood behind it weren't going to make it, but saving at least one life would be a positive and probably fulfill Calypso's request. Dropping the humanoid appearance, Ky'rin broke down into her glob of darkness, eyes, tentacles, and other things and spread itself over Saisei, Loukas, and whoever else was in the immediate vicinity. Though stretched thin, Ky'rin was still pretty tough, or at least tough enough to take the explosion for others. Whether or not it lived, however, was a different story.

Saisei Satō | Lookin' For His Place In Life

Christ.

Saisei was left with a sense of impending doom as he watched the world around him began to slowly crumble. First his Commander, now the demons. As each second passed, the battlefield only grew more dangerous. Whether the demon and hollow were at fault or not mattered very little now. As a recruit, his job was clear.

"Stay with the Kid, Loukas!"

Flinging the little one's bow to the side with ease, the boy looked around to his fellow Quincy and the members who held so dear. Loukas, and the tag alongs, were his only priority now. As the demon before the bellowed and boomed with his rather daunting voice, Saisei would use this time to take part in the protection of those all around. While Calypso rung herself free at what seemed to be a cost of her own health, he moved.

"Whether we like it or not, listening is the best point of attack. Everyone brace."

As soon as the word brace escaped from his lips, Saisei's form rocketed forward with enough speed it'd leave a small crack along the ground he previously stood. The plan was simple from here. Whether the demon liked it or not, Saisei was required to take action as a recruit. That action was one that surely others would not enjoy.

Flying forward, the boy up against Calypso's backside, the starting point of the barrier she attempted to erect around the tiny group. Without hesitation, Saisei drew back his right arm and stifled his breathing. Without a moment to lose, his fist planted itself directly in the ground below. Enhancing the blow further with Shēnghuó, the recruit had only one goal in mind.

"Brace for impact."

As the grotesque monster's energy had finally escaped and sought its way towards them, Saisei's blow within the earth had left a shockwave of energy in its wake. Before long, the ground that stood still had now become erect, the earth shattering blow causing the ground around the group to go flying upward. In hopes of only further cushioning whatever blow found it's way to the party, the earth surrounded them with ease. After all, Saisei's energy control wasn't anything to scoff at. Rather, it was something rather unique compared to other humans.

Nonetheless, after making way with his blow, Saisei immediately shifted his body weight in order to use the full effects of Ishigaki on himself. As it was now, he was pressed firm against Calypso's side and would be within the range of the explosion. Though it may hurt, his already durable nature heightened by Ishigaki could afford him this feat.

And to think he'd find himself helping what he'd call his mortal enemy. Saisei was the pathetic one, now.

i'm about to drop off,

What was happening here... was something much too powerful for Loukas to deal with. For the first time, he felt well and truly useless. Not only was he unable to fight against this, he was also unable to defend himself from the coming blast of energy. He was lucky he wasn't alone, perhaps, but it didn't matter to his feelings about such a thing. Even if he survived this, there would be no doubt in his mind how entirely weak he was.

The three combined barriers from Calypso, the apparently eldritch being disguised as a kid, and Saisei seemed, at first glance, to be enough. But even Loukas, with how inexperienced he was, could tell that there was a possibility it wasn't. That their efforts here wouldn't matter, and they'd all get hit anyways, maimed at the least and killed on impact at the worst.

Loukas's breathing quickened, a sense of panic induced into him. There was nowhere to hide, nowhere to go to escape, nothing he could do. All he could do was just stand there and hope. "Please..." he whispered, begging the barriers to work.

LOUKAS.

Jefferson | Bravo 1

Barriers, barriers, and even more barriers. They stacked their collective powers together to form a wall of melding energies that they hoped would protect them from the inevitable explosion. Luckily, for them, they survived. Unfortunately for others, they were too far gone to be saved by the collective shielding. Not everyone had the awareness or capabilities of falling back in time, and those that were caught out seemed to no longer exist, their physical bodies eradicated. Even those inside the barriers would feel the world around them shake, shift, and forcibly break apart. Yet, they would remain unharmed. For those that had sacrificed themselves to erect such a thing, they would find their energy tanks drained immensely, the demon releasing not only its energy but the collective energy of the dead and living all around it. Everything that had laid dormant, was used in this final act of dirty deeds.

First, Calypso’s barrier took the brunt of everything, absorbing the initial blow, but that initial blow proved potent enough to shatter her barrier as the ravaging winds swept in. This was when Saisei’s upturned Earth proved itself worthy as the winds tore into the rocks and sent them flying around the group, leaving only a flimsy replica of Stonehenge behind. Then, the demonic radiation that continued to fly around battered at Ky’rin’s essence, belittling her thinned form and weakening those she could not cover. And, after all that, they are left in a field of death and decay. All around them, the environment had been trampled and swept clean. All that exists now is but a way forward.

Up in the air, they will see a giant white creature in the distance, its presence strangely similar to a Quincy’s. They would see it slash at the air and wonder what is going on. That is when they are greeted by the remains of Omega 3, the sprawling group appearing from the wood works after the explosion had ended.

“What the Hell was that?! Ah. No matters. Bravo 1? Damn, you guys took a beaten. Seems none of the squads got through this in one piece. However, we must hurry. Delta 2 and members of Omega 3 have engaged in combat with the supposed demon that is controlling everything here. Come with us. Stat!”
