what to do? It was soooo boring, Kokocci was so busy lately since she got her girlfriend and came to her conclusion that she was actually suuuuuuper gay. Not that Himiko minded, she had a warped sense of human norms given her own strange tendencies and circumstances of being a half-beast, half-woman.
Um. Time to shop, and whoever she saw first was her victim. It would be really unfortunate for whoever she spotted first as she walked out of her tent and looked around the Seventh Division barracks.
"Who doesn't look busy and is by themselves."
Then she saw it. A streak of red.

Doesn’t look busy? Well, that’s usually Elyss’ problem throughout the day. Her tendency to finish her tasks quickly due to the work ethics, leaves her bored for most of the day. Bored enough to go out of her way and help other people complete their tasks. So, yes. Currently, there is a redhead not doing anything at all. Well, unless twirling a stick is considered doing something. Where did she get the stick? From off the ground. Yeah, she’s that bored. Just her and her redheaded self sitting on a box, twirling a stick while everyone else is busy walking around and doing whatever it is they have to do. If only she realized the danger she’s in right now.

Her adorable redheaded prey was there. Sitting with stick in hand, maybe the stick was the focus of her attention. Did she have the teeniest little inclination to want to chase it if Elyss threw it away? Maybe a bit, but she did well to keep those impulsives in check. She was trying to be more normal after all, Kokocci said she looked weird when she did things sometimes.
This was probably one of the same instances but she couldn't help herself. It was a day for fun now.
"Hiii~ You're Elyss right? The redhead, you're super cute and looking all alone I figured I outta come and check you out. You're not sad, are you? Just sitting here with a stick. Wanna hang out? Let's do it, you're by yourself, I'm by myself. It's basically fate~"
She sang. Her words not giving Elyss any time to think or consider them too much. It was hard enough to follow already.

Her name, again? Who is it this time? You’d think people would get the memo when they see her all alone like this, especially when it seems she’s not working. If she wants to talk, she’ll go and bother someone, if not, piss off. However, her annoyance is not ever equal. Some people she doesn’t hate to see, and others she’d rather keep their distance. Seeing how she doesn’t know this voice at all, the latter applies. Still, she always tries to give everyone a chance to not piss her off. So, who's the gal trying for her attention this time?
Her eyes would trail away from the stick between her fingers onto the woman. What? Are those dog ears? Wait, no. They’re not particularly doggish. Besides, the wild pink hair took her attention off of the ears quickly. Then came the barrage of words that wouldn’t stop and did nothing but confuse her. All she got out of it was her name, cute, and hang out. Why do people insist on calling her cute? She hates it. That word so easily tears down her defenses and she hates feeling exposed. For the first time today, her face actually scrunched up with distaste before she threw the stick at a nearby yurt.
“Go fetch and bother someone else.”
Well then.

Why was she so hostile. That was totes uncool. Didn't Elyss want to open up or make friends? She reacted so badly. Maybe she was just hungry, Himiko thought that she was hungry. When she was hungry Himiko got like this. It makes total sense now
"Hey. I'm not a dog you know. Don't let my tail fool ya~"
She was too bubbly to be brought down like this. Elyss couldn't outstubborn her. There was a reason she did patrols so well.
"You look hungry. Let's go eat. I'll treat you to some food if you want and then we can go shopping, if you want."
Himiko said if she wanted, like she still had the option to leave but the demi-human was far to sure that once Elyss got some food in her and a chance to chat. She'd be super opened up and ready to be an open book. Genius Himiko, genius.

Bubbly? That’s a weird way to react to being told to fetch, but that is that. Without even a snappy response, Elyss hopped from her seat onto her feet and blew out some air with a short stretch.
“Alright. Let’s go get something to eat then.”
This strange dog- no. Fox? Yeah, she looks more foxy than doggy. She didn’t get hissy and stomp off after being told off the first time. Already, Elyss has lost her initial edge and sees no reason to mouth off any further. That’s how it normally is with the redhead. She’s not easy to approach but isn’t that bad afterwards, normally. Besides, she could go for a little something to fill her stomach, especially since she doesn’t have to pay. In short, her interest with the fox gal has gotten better than what it was a few seconds ago.

Aha! She was right, the tough guy act melted when she talked about food. It truly was a universal language. Maybe she shouldn't be so quick to offer it though, girls didn't want to eat after all and not everyone had Himiko's absurd metabolism to their nature. That didn't matter though. Elyss was a big girl, maturely I mean. Right?
"Eheh~ I knew you'd say that. Yanno I'm a bit of a mind reader right?"
There was a cheeky wink for extra flair and then she went and grabbed Elyss by the hand and pulled her along like a dog leading it's owner down the street for it's walk.
"So whacha like to eat huh? You're not picky are you? You don't look like the picky type- Ah, I know this great place that does all you can eat for really cheap about this time. Let's goooo, how's that sound huh, huh?"
That sounded great, right Elyss?

Mind reader, eh? Elyss doubts anyone would want to spend too long attempting to figure out what she’s thinking. It’s a mess up there.
This woman seems alright. A bit too bright for Elyss, but people probably appreciate her enthusiasm. Elyss just knows that this sort of peppiness is just something she doesn’t have most of the time, so she’ll let this strange woman do as she pleases for now. She did agree to be pulled around after all. Not in a literal sense, but she doesn’t make a fuss when she’s pulled like a lost child or stray puppy.
“I don’t really care. Take me where ya want. Just don’t bore me.”
Honestly, anyone looking from the outside would have found this pretty weird. Elyss is never seen being pulled around, especially by someone like this woman. They just don’t seem the type to do anything together. That’s just how life is sometimes: unexpecting. It doesn’t make her any less tough, and she’d probably sucker punch anyone rumoring anywise. Now, if only she could wear a smile from time to time.

On the way, Himiko was bubbling the whole length of the journey. Not even impatient to get there, she made stops to point things out. Got distracted and really showed a level of airheadedness that might be dangerous when mixed with her curiousity. It almost seemed to emphasised that one might begin to wonder if she was really as whimsical as she let on.
"So whatcha eat? Look at this place. It's tiny but the menu is so nice and cheap. Remember, all you can eat."
She reminds her with a wink. Tossing some money on the counter and taking up a table for her and her new friend. At some point in the transition she made sure to pass the food and scoop an unrealistically big portion for herself. No way would she eat all that right?

This is actually ridiculous. Or, it could just be some elaborate scheme to empty their stomachs for the all you can eat buffet. However, Elyss doubts that Himiko thought that far ahead. The foxish woman seemed too invested in everything she stopped at for all this to have been some elaborate ruse. If anything, it just seems like this woman is your average blonde that has to stop and look at every shiny thing on the road. Actually, this is just how a real fox would act, huh? However, finally after what felt like forever, they’d arrive as the restaurant that Himiko so wanted Elyss to come with her to.
“Well, if I'm being honest, you did succeed at making me hungry. I’m also annoyed that it took us like 30 extra minutes just to get here.”
Despite the disdain laced thick in her words, she moved to grab herself some food much like Himiko. She’s peeved, but that just makes her hunger all the more apparent. And, she’d wait until they’re at a table again before speaking up again. The two of them had missed an important part of this get together. Well, Himiko already knows who Elyss is. Elyss is the one missing the details.
“So… Uh… Your name, your IQ, and your business with me. I need all of those, please and thank you.”
