As the war raged on in the world of the living, the Gotei marching against the recent rise of the Monsuta, a new battle loomed in near future from the realm they called home. A feeling of dread loomed throughout the Rukongai, an unspoken premonition of something soon to come. Anyone could easily mistake it as the tensions from the war below, the Captain Commander and a large chunk of the realm's forces moving in to assault the terrorists in the world of the living. While far from leaving Soul Society defenseless by any means, the distraction provided just enough leeway for the phantom Monarch to advance his plans. It was quiet, the darkness of night rolling in through the outer districts of Rukon. As the light faded and shadows swept over the streets, the lurking threat finally made itself known!
A flood of spiritual pressure spilled over Rukon, dozens of garganta ripping apart the fabric of space and forming throughout the northern districts! They were spaced apart, some close to the Seireitei in the most populated and well-defended districts, while the majority formed along the less attended towns along the outskirts of Rukon. A hollow invasion may have been the last thing they expected to encounter at such a time, but even that wasn't an accurate depiction of the dawning terror above. The spiritual energy was clearly Hollow-like...but also corrupted, tainted even by the standards of such beasts. A foulness spilled into the streets, the pressure enough to weigh down and even crush some of the weaker and ill spirits that called this place home. Limbs ripped through the gateways, a tangled mess of abominations fighting each-other for the chance to dive into the realm below and feast upon the countless souls and Shinigami scattered throughout! Once the rifts were wide enough, they started to pour out in mass!
Hollows of every shape and size fell to the city streets, crashing into buildings, landing on civilians and breaking their bodies beneath their weight! Immediately the Shinigami on guard moved to intercept and fight off the invaders, which they were well equipped to do, but save for the most prestige and powerful warriors on duty? The foot soldiers found it much more difficult dispatching these beasts than your typical Hollow swarm. They belonged to the dark legion, adorned in thick, scale-like armor around their entire body that made them difficult to recognize. Each beast had its own armor tailored to their form, fitting their skin with an array of dark colors that varied from monster to monster. Their strength vastly outweighed Hollows of their class, boasting physical might and the spiritual potential of monsters an entire league of their own! While the invading army mostly consisted of the most basic Hollows with their power increased exponentially by their master's mark, a hand full of Menos Grande touched down at the back of the invading force, their form appearing unnatural and freakish with reptilian army compressing around their cloak and fitting the body bound beneath. With the cloak compressed, they looked more like giants with thin, grotesque looking limbs and a flat body, their movements less constricted than their ordinary counterparts. The shrill cries of the invaders mixed with the screams of terror from the citizens below. It bled through the seireitei, playing a song of damnation anyone was sure to hear. Yet none of the invading force dared to assault the Seireitei itself, focusing all of its efforts on the districts of Rukon and devouring as many people as possible!
The spearhead of the abrupt raid made themselves known just as quickly as their soldiers. In district one right next to the Seireitei, an enormous amount of spiritual pressure spilled out that dwarfed any other foreign presence. The intensity could be compared to a rampaging Vaizard taking over by their Hollow, which wasn't too far from the truth. As the rift opened, a single Shinigami stood above the populated realm below. Their skin was pale and colorless, a dangerous presence exuding from them that drowned the battlefield in killing intent..Yet unlike the Hollows invading elsewhere, it was perfectly controlled, flowing gently around the unknown figure as they jumped to the city streets below. The Shinigami was nameless, unrecognizable in any records- simply because they were no longer who they once were. It was a puppet experimented on by Shadowfall and the strings attached. A black visor wrapped around its face, shrouding its eyes and picking up on every energy signature in the area. The fleeing souls, the few Shinigami on guard, the gate-guardian not too far up ahead...But they were not the man's concern.
The Shinigami waited at the district closest to the gate, awaiting the secondary force left behind to defend the Soul Society while their invading force did battle with the Monsuta. Taking on the bulk of them and their leading officers is a job only he could accomplish. Still, it was unclear what they were aiming for. The number of Hollows, while high and powerful nearly hitting two hundred, wasn't even remotely enough to capture anything, and they were split apart over such a wide area, even while focused purely on the north, that even capturing and maintaining districts would be difficult. It was more like a raid than an invasion, but a substantial one all the same. The figurehead didn't bother attacking the civilians, their hand resting on their zanpakto as some fled, while others were crushed under the sheer weight of their demented spiritual pressure. Instead, their eyes fell solely on the few that actually posed a threat to the Hollows that ravaged elsewhere.
Ruvik's goal here was simple. To breed chaos and destruction. He had no intention of conquering anything, nor capturing anything significant. Just allowing his pets to feast and in turn harness the energy they gather for a new purpose when this was over. The visor lit up, taking in details on everything in the immediate area. Even the handful of Shinigamii closest to their arrival were powerless, crushed under the sheer spiritual weight of the figure standing by them. There were plenty of real threats still to come, the opposition he patiently waited for. The Hollow in the skin of its very enemy waited for the stronger battalions to mobilize, ready to cut them off and give his minions as much time as possible to feed. Though a segment of its body remained in Las Nochas as a precautionary measure, it invested enough, alongside its war-built shell to fight at its full potential when the time came.
For now, it was a matter of waiting, as the sun set shadows crept from one district to the next, getting closer to the Seireitei Fires burned, flickering embers lighting up the shadows with a crimson glow. The enormous Menos pierced the sky like watchtowers, the rain of cero falling upon the city and eradicating numerous buildings and souls with each explosive blast While Ruvik's right-eye picked up on any subtle changes in the realm around them through the visor, their left watched events elsewhere, curiously observing the battle between the Captain Commander and another of his subjects he had given his gifts to better fend them off and keep the war going as long as possible. The longer this all lasts? The more the Hollow King could feed and put forth that energy to his first evolution, a creation unlike any other that would dwarf the stars and cast its eternal shadow on the Earth.
So who would come to face the throne? As the Demon King fought against those in Hawaii, the monsuta waged war with Vastine and fought back against the Gotei invaders, the Hollow King lead his assault against the Soul Society directly, reigniting an ancient battle that had gone on far longer than any other. The war between Hollows and Shinigami that dated to the very beginning, one of the first wars nature devised that continues to this very day.

MOMO HINAMORI
However all of that was about to change...Momo could hear the fabric of ten no hundreds of garganta portals she had to investigate the massage surge of spiritual pressures around the rukongai. All the other captains were busy dealing with the threat in Hawaii and she wasn't sure if the lieutenants would arrive in time...so it was time to take matters into her own hands. With zanpaktou in hand Momo immediately rushed to the scene questioning as to why the defenses haven't kicked in.. What hecks going on here, shouldn't the defenses be in effect now?" Momo but for now she had a mission and that was to destroy anyone that's deemed a threat to the soul society.
However once Momo arrived she saw what could only be described as pure and utter chaos, hundreds of shinigami soldiers and hollows however these felt different than the average ones...almost like they were being controlled by a force greater than aizen. Certainly hollows wouldn't be appearing in the sereitei without assistance of someone or something..
Hundreds of hollows of varying shapes and sizes began crawling out of the garganta hungry to sink their teeth into some souls and lower ranking shinigami. There were even a few menos grande only this time they didn't have a thin body type she's used to seeing but they looked like giants it was so many Momo couldn't even count them all...
Momo was only one shinigami and there were hundreds of garganta portals all around the rukongai some closer than others. That she was the only one standing between them and the rukongai being destroyed...so with zanpaktou in hand she unseated her sword and called upon her spirit.
"Snap tobiume!" Momo's zanpaktou became to change from a typical sword into a three pronged blade each one symbolizing a tree branch.
"Tobiume scream!" With that momo's shikai began to engulf in flames until a barrage of fireballs rained down onto the hollows in front of her..if successful the attached will most likely destroy a few hollows leaving a trail of fire.

Artist:Adrian Von Ziegler - Song:Necromancy - Word Count: 1741
It was a small raid, but an effective one. The small battalion of Hollows ravaged the northern districts of Rukon, fires lighting up the darkening sky and plumes of smoke rising up. They wouldn't have much time to work with though, so the spearhead was intent on keeping the remaining forces of the Gotei at bay as long as possible so his minions could collect. Each soul the Hollows devoured, both Shinigami and plus alike were drawn right into Gaia, a dark artifact that was ripe with potential from the conquest of another nation deep in Hell itself. All those souls had allowed the piece to evolve, hovering just on the edge of becoming something truly terrifying. With the energy being siphoned from the explosive battle between Demonic and the Captain Commander themselves, it wouldn't take too much longer to reach their goal.
The puppet Ruvik bent to his will grasped their zanpakto. The silver blade unsheathed, hovering directly ahead of them and poised toward the northern gate to seireitei. The first wave of defenders was on their way, each of their powers clear in the Hollow's senses. Using their will alone, the Hollow forced the blade to shift. The spirit locked inside was nothing more than a fading corpse, another victim of the Hollow King's will. Their sword glowed an ominous black, steel shifting to jagged, razor-sharp edges that could rip and tear through flesh with ease. The thick spiritual pressure resonating from him increased even further, the ground quivering and cracking under its immense weight. Reishi was drawn in from the world around him, the sword devouring it and empowering both itself and its wielder with even greater stores to work with. Their hand outstretched, poised at the oncoming attackers. Numerous attacks all darted toward the lone pale-skinned Shiinigami leading the assault. Kido, flames, electricity, and any other unique powers the oncoming squadron had at their disposal. The weaker lines had no chance against him though, all of their attacks moments from being reduced to ash.
"Hadō thirty-three.Sokatsui."
Their words calm and reserved but carried with them a feeling of dread. A spark of crimson electricity crackled by the outstretched palm, drawing on just a trace of the bloodlust and malice of his own kind, as well as his newest ally and their almighty opposition in the world below. Crimson flames built up along their hand, traces of spiritual energy flooding from their fingertips. Though a simple enough kido, it had been corrupted, contorted and made even more powerful by the one behind it. It took only a moment to harness, the weaker projectiles heading toward him barely registering as a concern. A tidal wave of flames burst free from Ruvik's palm. The inferno devoured everything, easily breaking through the barrage of attacks aimed at them and pressing onward. It scarred the earth, broke down nearby buildings, and reached high into the sky above! The soldiers that tried to escape wouldn't have much luck, the blast darting forward like a bullet train, intent on consuming anything and everything in its path. It washed over them, the raw destructive potential was immense, even without a proper incantation! The weakest were obliterated in an instant, while some of the more durable managed to make it out alive, but seriously wound. The pillar of flames smashed right into the barrier surrounding the seireitei, a flash of red light flaring throughout the darkness above. The barrier was strong, only a few small cracks appearing at the point of direct impact. It would take a lot to shatter, but fortunately, the seireitei wasn't the objective.
The explosion waned, leaving arcs of burning terrain behind. The first wave was crippled in an instant, the man's power displayed without regard for conservation..Because despite how powerful the blast had been? With the zanpakto absorbing reishi at a rapid rate, what little energy he did lose was already being quickly restored. But at that moment he could also feel something else...Not far away, a few of hi small battalion faded away, crushed under the weight of another power..Something slightly considerable in comparison to the first responders. It seemed he missed one...But no matter, they were close. Keeping their hand raised, the parasite-ridden host harnessed the power of the contract, summoning a creature from the rear lines to hold off the next wave of fodder while he took care of the potential pest. Dark energy built up before him, a large pillar of it that cast an enormous shadow on the seireitei's barrier. Through the touch of his essence in their soul, the Hollow summoned one of the empowered menos right to the front lines! The giant appeared after a moment's focus. It towered over the gate, its lanky limbs outstretched with that serpent-like armor. While not remotely as powerful as its summoner, the Menos was still a monster for your average warrior. Decently fearsome on its own, but a terror for your average footsoldier with the augmentation its master had given it. The enormous creature didn't charge though. It remained in the first district right by the gate, waiting patiently for the next wave of soldiers to spill out and rush to defend Rukon. Only then would it attack, focused purely on crushing the weaker soldiers that sought to end the invasion..While the master of it all?
He'd handle any real threats personally. Ruvik knew exactly where his soldiers had fallen through the link they shared. Any other Hollows in the area were instructed to move out, getting farther away from Momo's district as they could so they could continue to feast without worry of being slaughtered or caught up in the crossfire about to happen. In a single step, the Shinigami-clad Hollow burst through the air at sonic speeds, shattering the sound barrier in an instant. They darted through the sky, coming to stop at the high-points of one building to take a step and appear at another a far distance away. The spiritual presence became closer and closer, approaching the primary defender at the moment with unease-breeding speed. Within moments it'd be upon them. High above where Momo had taken out a smaller group on the front lines, the Shinigami puppet stood at the very edge of a crumbling tower's roof. Its crimson iris fell right on the woman, the thick veil of killing intent and corrupting spiritual pressure bearing down on them in force. The visor wrapped around their face scanned the girl, pulling up any data Shadowfall had acquired on them in the past, but there wasn't much to go on but a few cliff notes. Going by their energy levels, their strength had increased tremendously since the last time it was on record as well.
..No matter, it was still nothing he couldn't handle on his own. Ruvik cut the feed to the battle with the Monsuta, giving the girl his full attention. With a step, the man descended to the ground below. He landed gracefully, a wisp of dark spiritual energy washing over the ground when his feet touched it. The jagged blade in his hand glowed ominously, consuming reishi from the realm around it, physically breaking down buildings, pavement, and even the dying remains of the few Hollows that perished a moment ago. The husk of a puppet spoke, their dull, raspy voice echoing with the backdrop of burning embers.
"Hm...I don't think I've ever seen you before...I'd love to stay and pick your brain, but I don't have much time to waste for this operation. I'll give you one chance to run to the seireitei and save us both some time. I have no interest in conquering anything right now, and I'll leave on my own accord with my army once I have what I need...But if you're going to keep fighting, I won't be able to leave you be. And it'd be terrible for someone that has gone through so much to acquire the shred of strength they have to...meet their end so abruptly. "
The garganta ripping apart the sky started to close. The majority of the invading force had already landed with little intention of reinforcements. A small group was left in reserve, but strictly for an emergency, if one were to arise. Elsewhere, the Hollows continued to ravage the districts. Several fell to the combined efforts of the Shinigami on guard, but the majority continued to feast, growing stronger and feeding Gaia with every soul, as well as their master himself. A faint spark of red electricity crackled around Ruvik, his entire being breathing in the chaos and destruction, feeding on it, growing stronger from it by the second. Multiple power sources were directed through him at once, a network he bent to his will, finally realizing some of the potential that took so long to achieve.
Powers in use.
Soul Contract Manipulation:
Soul Contract: Perhaps the second most potent ability at the parasite's disposal. The Soul Contract is the second best thing to fully infesting a person's body and claiming their strength as its own. The process is a simple one, but very effective and diverse in what occurs. To incur a soul contract, the creature simply need ask them if they accept a contract that will be told at the time of through any medium. The terms are usually vague, promising power and aid in fulfilling some kind of vendetta or revenge against another in return for a favor or two in the future. If they accept, then the creature can make the deal official by any means it desires. There isn't a specific ritual to it and could be made painfully over-the-top, or as simple as a touch on the forehead. They need not even be close to one another for this to take effect. However, there is a way to force the contract on to another, but it is much harder to do. The first is that the subject in question be drastically weakened. If they are near the creature's level or even decently powerful, they would need to be in a state of great emotional distress or decreased willpower. The second medium is if they simply are drastically weaker than the parasite. In which case the contract can be forced upon them.
Now, what does this contract do exactly? As in the name, it is a contract of the soul. Unlike traditional demon cliches, this isn't an ownership of the one in question, but a deep link put in place between the soul of the parasite and the subject in question. There is no limit to how many people can be linked this way, but it can also be broken should the subject desire it and have the willpower to do so. Power isn't even needed to break the bind, only willpower. The contract has benefits for both parties that make it a less-than-easy choice to simply request the contract be removed or force it off themselves. Starting with immediate effects. The contract will put a seal somewhere on the subjects body. This seal will be pitch black in color and has the mold of a serpent's head.. While this is in place, the effected will gain an enormous rush of energy and even the parasite's regeneration immediately after the contract begins. This only lasts for the thread in question, but is still useful. The second and more long-lasting change is in the subject's intent. The seal brings out the darkest parts of who they are, be it greed, lust, or just wrath and hatred. These aspects are amplified multiple times over, turning minor flaws into the biggest parts of who a person is so long as the contract is in place.
This seal will allow the parasite to give the subject in question immense power, No matter how weak they were before, this can raise them up to a level just one tier lower than the parasite itself. If someone is already at that level or above, a bonus is still obtained. The limt will change to instead offering only a half-tier bonus ( 1-1 -> 1-1+ etc). Like all other things, the parasite controls how much power it offers and can alter the tier anywhere from their base level to the maximum on a thought. Additionally as a bonus, the creature can allow someone access to the darkness cloak ability with the same benefit it has while using it. However, unlike the host, that is the only ability it can offer through this medium, and a seldom one. Only the most useful of contracted combatants will be allowed to use it. A bonus of such power is life changing for some, but it isn't without flaws. Naturally the parasite has benefits from the ordeal as well.
The first is an always active effect that slowly drains the soul of the one effected. This is so ridiculously slow that it can't be noticed for an exceedingly long amount of time. This is a medium for the creature to gain energy from other creatures aside the host and even gain the essence of races it can't normally infest, such as Quincy. The process is very slow though, not having much effect until weeks have passed with the seal active. At that point the subject may begin to feel minor illness that fades away in a few hours, only coming back every few weeks for short bursts of time. Only after multiple months does it become worse and last for longer periods. This can never kill someone, but eventually can build to serious migraines and other pains. The more power they gain compared to their original tier, the more these effects manifest and plague them throughout a month.
The creature also has extensive control over the contracted subjects. A number of simple powers can be accessed relating to those in question. The first is summoning, a basic technique that can take away someone under the conscription from the area they are in and bring the person directly before the parasite and their current host. This takes the form of a mass of dark energy manifesting around the target and consuming them to nothingness; rebuilding their body under the guise of another energy mass directly before the creature. The opposite can also be done. Through the contracted, the parasite can warp its own body to the same location as any that are linked to its soul. At the time the host will also be brought along by the extension of the parasite's will. These methods both take a full post to complete, making it unwise during battle where a distraction isn't available.
The second means of control is sensory. At any time the parasite can telepathically communicate with any contracted soul whether they want to or not. At this time the creature can read their thoughts and project its own at light speed. Aside being nifty communication, this telepathy has controlling properties. The words and commands spoken over this medium have an alluring effect that makes the subject desire to follow them. This is not control, but an extremely effective passive suggestion, One can easily ignore, or alter the orders given enough willpower, but since most subjects are treated as friends and associates, it isn't as easy as disregarding an enemy. It has the same effect as a request being given by a close friend. Sure, anyone could turn it down. They're not being forced to obey. They just want to. The second effect is sensory intake. At any time the parasite can tap into the senses of those affiliated with the contract and hear what they hear, see what they see, so on and so forth. It is like looking at a video through the eyes and ears of the subject and makes for useful tactical application. That is as far as it goes
The last effect of the contract is the most useful for the parasite,. While in place, the creature can use any powers that the contracted can utilize in all but their peak state, unless the person only has one state; in which case all powers will be available. This will only apply to personal ability, not racial skills or natural talents. For example, if a fire bender were to be contracted under this ability and they had access to their bankai, the parasite, and thus the host could utilize all powers and techniques available to the subject from their base form and shikai. The techniques follow the same guidelines and barriers as the original user, but do not require the same medium. Rather than a sword, the parasite could bend flames through its body, or the host's physical appendages. Any power generated via this medium is composed of malevolent energy and altered so that it can not harm the parasite or its host. This, combined with the initial benefits of its parasitic nature give it one of the widest potential arsenal of techniques in existence! Due to this, it hasn't come to develop many skills of its own, leading to a fatal issue down the road. Should all the contracted subjects break free or die off, or even the host killed, the parasite has extreme difficulty managing on its own accord alone. This dependency keeps it in check, needing to keep some subjects appeased to stay in power.
These contracts can be broken in three ways. The first is to overcome the will of the parasite and free yourself through excessive effort and energy expenditure. The second is if the terms of the contract are violated. The contract, though often vague is important. The terms must be fulfilled on the Hollow's end to remain active. Once those terms are shattered, the contract is removed. However the rules toward it are very literal, so if a technicality permits something, there are no drawbacks to it. the last medium is to kill the parasite itself, which will remove all influence it has on the world and the souls that reside in it.
Malevolence:
Malevolence: Malevolence is the term used by the Hollow for its second most potent power. The creatures gains strength from the vile and malevolent emotions in the world. The killing intent of others and the hatred people have for one another. These emotions, thoughts, and actions all fuel the creature with greater strength and power than it already has! The darker a dimension it inhabits is, the more powerful it becomes because of the average intent of the realms people. This increases the fiends already monstrous strength, its speed, ability, and energy vastly by unknown intervals that constantly shift. This augmentation is influence by the entire world on a small scale, but people directly in interaction with the parasite influence it much more. It can draw power from the hatred and killing intent of the very foes it fights! Even the malice of the host can be drawn in to increase its overall ability. It is even worse when the source of their hatred and malice is the Hollow itself. That directed evil, a feeling of spite that can only be sedated by the creature's death offers the most power of all! Though these buffs are all undefined due to how radically they change and differ, the bonus is immense , and make the parasite one of the most deadly threats to those that oppose it and desire its end. It can range anywhere from a a minor increase of 1.1x to as large as multiplying the fiend's overall ability five fold in peak conditions!
Malevolence can be used for diverse purposes. It isn't just a raw power upgrade, but an energy that can be forged from the world around it. It takes the form of crimson sparks. It will mix together with the darkness cloak as an aura during battle in especially vile areas or against opposition desiring the creatures death. These sparks can be infused into any technique the parasite is associated with, such as the host's powers and any other the fiend can come across. These sparks bolster the offensive power of any skill. Minor changes often occur due to the corrupt energy. These things are minor, but showcase a shift in desire for something more destructive. A barrier may grow spikes that cut open any that touch it, or a blast of energy will become more explosive and have a minor change in color. Nothing too substantial, but the will of damnation is showcased in every ability altered by the crimson sparks. This electric energy can be unleashed on its own as a form of offensive. It can be shot into someone through contact, or release in a bolt of lightning that moves at incredible speed. The range is roughly half a mile, intended to strike a target at a large distance and moves at speed ten times greater than an actual strike of lightning, making evasion extremely difficult. When struck by either method, the electricity will burn the victim internally at a fast pace and even start to cook them! The pain is immense, and given prolonged contact or a continuous stream of lightning, the eyes will begin to boil and the lungs will cease to function. mIt takes only a post of continuous contact for the effect to reach that state, and given time could cook someone to death if they can't escape the effect. The unique thing about this lightning is that while harming a target, regeneration will be completely negated. Additionally the effected won't be able to use any healing effects for the duration of the post they are struck. This only lasts for the post itself, but given continuous strikes can seriously hinder those that overly rely in healing factors.
The last effect of malevolence is a form of sixth sense based on the concept. Whenever someone has vile intent toward the parasite or host, the parasite can sense it and feel through it with ease. This can even sense people that it doesn't even know exist if they are near and have this intent. It is an ultimate sense that can see through any disguise, acting, or illusion so long as the subject in question has that dark intent present. It helps see through surprise attacks and works in an instant. Sudden changes from a lack there of, to being effected by this can predict and help evade sudden assaults before the muscles in the body even move to act out their new malevolent will. It puts the subject in question on an invisible radar, allowing perfect tracking. Clones can be distinguished due to a lack of free will of their own in most cases to feel malice. The range of the ability is roughly two miles around the parasite and is very precise. Unfortunately it can not sense out raw attacks like beams or underground surges of stone rising up to strike. It can only sense the person directly and how intense their will for deception, destruction, and harm is.
Those free of ill intent are entirely immune to every aspect of this sensor, and should their intent be pure; can bypass most things related to malevolence entirely. Though the evil of the world will still fuel it to some degree, the opposition is the primary factor and heavily influences the effects in play.

PLUM BLOSSOM
MOMO HINAMORI
Burn baby burn as the hollows began screaming in pain as the fireballs landed right on the sweet spot causing them to dissipate and leave a aftermath of fire...Momo was ready to destroy another group of hollows until she that the garganta above began closing until she felt a strong spiritual presence near her vicinity, Momo turned around and remained vigilant until she saw the person leading this whole ordeal..
The spiritual pressure came from the ground his body appearing from the shadows and his presence was dark...regardless began eyeing the mysterious man up and down noticing that his skin tint his eyes piercing red similar to that of a demon.
The man's demeanor said that he wasn't here to invade but to require something..whatever that was Momo wasn't going to let him get to it..besides his whole sphel would be convincing if this was the old momo but she wasn't buying any of it nobody just invades the rukongai unless their here to strike once all the captains and lieutenants were gone.
As the man unsheathed his sword Momo could feel the immense crackle of electricity eminating off of the strange man, almost like a giant machine being powered by hundreds of generators. His zanpaktou unsheathed began to literally absorb everything around it almost fueling it with power just what kind of zanpaktou was it..did it even have a name?
Momo was the only thing standing between him and the destruction of the sereitei but she had a duty and that was to eliminate all who were a threat to the sereitei and the soul society as a whole...
" I don't know who or what your after but your not stepping one foot into the sereitei! If you take even a single step your going to regret coming here." Momo said as her eyes meet with the mysterious man's with a intimidating look mean in that she meant business.
If he started the fight by going full force Momo would immediately retaliate with a kido spell possibility in the 80-90 range to slow him down or to counter whatever attack he may use.

The parasite's host shook their head. Were they even listening to what he said? No matter, that was a consequence they'd have to live with. It did give him a chance to have some fun at least. The Menos at the gate could stall for at least a few minutes, which was ample time for Ruvik to try and end things, possibly even gaining a prisoner to use against the Gotei and prolong the feeding even longer. Even before the battle started, things were already taking a bad turn. As some Hollows started to die from Momo's efforts and the few Shinigami able to contend with them in the northern districts, the spiritual pressure looming over the area didn't lower. In fact, it only got denser. As some of them died, the energy gifted to them was transferred to the remaining beasts instead. This meant that the more Hollows were exterminated? The stronger and more berserk the remaining ones become. It was a delightful process that left people with few winning options, keeping the battalion at a constant strength even when their numbers thinned.
"is that so?"
Ruvik smiled, his visor picking up on the girl's every movement, the fluctuations of their spiritual power and any focal points where it could gather. He didn't want to waste too much time, so the sooner he took the edge, the more fun he could have before the defensive guard by the gate was overwhelmed. But maybe the woman could put up more of a fight than he was expecting. The area around him continued to break down, reishi being drawn into their zanpakto and replenishing any lost energy the puppet spent. They took one step forward, words leaving their lips and a sense of dread enveloping the lone Shinigami before him.
"Then I'm going to enjoy this."
In an instant they were gone, moving at supersonic speeds for the briefest second. In the blink of an eye they'd be standing directly behind Momo, their blade grasped firmly in hand and their eye tracking their every movement. A sonic boom echoed from where they once stood, masking the sound of the step and the arcing blade. Moving with grace and exceptional speed, Ruvik brought their blade toward Momo's back, the steel siphoning the reishi in the air and glowing a vibrant shade of blue. It wasn't an especially powerful or dangerous attack by itself, but if it connected? It'd lead to a chain of events that could spell a quick end to the battle. The blade's arc was simple, slicing toward the girl's back and aiming to cut their flesh from their should down to their hip on the opposite side. While powerful, it was far from the parasite's full strength, just enough to cut the flesh.
The real danger laid in the released zanpakto. Were the razor-sharp edges to make contact with the girl and cut into their flesh, a burst of spiritual energy would flow from it and enter their body. It might give the illusion of making them more powerful for a brief moment, but the true nature of the spiritual injection was to induce decay. Not only was the energy injected useless, but it would poison the spiritual power inside the girl's body as well. If successful, any techniques she tried to use in those next few moments would become useless. The energy applied toward them was in a state where it only blocked the way for the rest of their power to surface, even if it only stayed that way for a short time. A short time was all Ruvik needed to seal the battle.
Whether successful or not, the Shinigami puppet would take a step back, poising his hand toward Momo after reacting appropriately to whatever countermeasure they had to offer, if any. Energy flowed from their body, another spark of crimson lightning manifesting at their fingertips. Words echoed, a phrase most were well acquainted with.
"Bakudo sixty-one, Rikujokoro."
A crimson light spilled from their fingers, darting toward the girl rapidly. Whether they were weakened by the blade or not, the kido was quick, darting toward them as six projectiles that split and darted for them from every direction. The bars were altered, not only in color but form. Rather than six rectangular bars, the ends took on a more malicious and dangerous shape. They curved like the tip of a blade, darting for the girl's midsection. The effects were not much different from the traditional spell, but had its power amplified by a considerable degree, as well as piercing flesh and cutting the woman open at the points they connected. Not giving them a second to breathe, the Hollow continued, applying bakudo for a much more sadistic purpose than they were intended.
"Bakudo sixty-three, Sajo Sabaku!"
Once again skipping the incantation and empowering the spell with a spark of red, a flash of crimson light erupted from their open palm. It darted for the girl, whether she was under the effect of the first spell or not, but it worked best with the first still in place. The rope darted for them, intent on wrapping around their body tightly, as well as the bars of light from before and putting immense pressure on both...And if Rikujokoro were still in effect? The rope would press down on the blade-like bars, pushing them deeper into the woman's flesh, spilling more blood and damaging their insides with every second they were compressed together. If everything went as intended? Not only would Momo have their spiritual powers inaccessible for a short period, but they'd be cut open, bound by two overlapping empowered bakudo, and forced to live with the sharp reshaped ends of the crimson bars digging deeper into their body with each second. All the while the world around them continued to decay, the blade drawing in more and more reishi from the surrounding area and breaking down buildings and structures alike.
If he was successful in binding the girl in at least one manner or another, he'd slow down, presuming there were no further countermeasures to deal with. Maybe he could get more out of this raid than he first wanted. The figure walked closer, attention now fixated on the girl that spoke to oppose him. His blade remained at the ready, eyes focused on the entire area around them in case any traps were put in place during the execution of his quick and methodic assault, or the surge of energy had attracted anyone else of note into the area. But so long as his first victim was bound? He'd be in a perfect position to ensure they stayed helpless and use them as a bargaining tool in the near future.
Skills uses
Disrupting Slash:
Disrupting Slash:The one technique, and only other ability of the shikai is the disrupting slash. Like the above, the disrupting slash works by releasing energy through the blade. Instead of connecting with a construct effected by supernatural energy, it must cut someone. When the blade cuts through flesh, it can unleash the same current into a foes body. On the inside, this will not only reduce the amount of energy the target has by the same amount released in the slash, but will prevent them from using any energy-oriented skills for an entire post after the attack connects. If This restriction does not stack, but the amount of energy lost does. Typically each cut landed by the Disrupting Slash will drain as much energy from someone as a gran rey cero would. Its immediate fatigue and long-lasting fatigue are both substantial. However, unlike the disrupting current; energy is not drained into the blade nor is it cast into the air. It is put in a state that is unusable inside the target's body. This may be even worse, as it makes regenerating that energy extremely difficult. The stores will not have room to replenish as they are filled with useless remains of dead energy. This can eventually be purged by filtering out the dead energy with working energy through other techniques, but is slow and will make for a much longer recovery time. Anyone with a master n willpower or focus can surpass the negation of their abilities, should they be of a higher tier.
Empowering Kido with Malevolence:

The enemy had a sinister look in his eyes, that made her absolutely disgusted another person invading the soul society thinking this was all just a game to him. No matter Momo will have too show this opponent that you don't mess with the sereitei or it's members, otherwise you'll face their full might.
Momo will say this though he wasn't a complete idiot when it came to combat, he moved at an exceptionally fast speed in normal circumstances shinigami of a lower rank would've just seen him as a blur and become easily sucesible too his attacks and the fact that he managed to supress the sound his step made was pretty clever..however that was a fatal mistake. The sound of the sonic boom was all she needed to anticipate his angle of attack...it was interesting that he went to stab her in the back since it'd take normally a human 3-4 seconds to turn around clever on his part but Momo was expecting that..so with quick reflexes and deflected his sword thrust with tobiume making sure that it didn't make contact with her back.
With the attack parried she watched as the shinigami stepped back and recited a kido all shinigami were familiar with and that was bakudo number sixty-one what was interesting however is that he somehow augmented the kido spell into his own sinister version. Instead of the usual yellow rectangles it changed to a crimson red and the kido was exceptionally quick, Momo had to react fast before she's a sitting duck.
So to counter this Momo immediately flash stepped into the air dodging the kido and began to generate a blue-white spear similar to throwing a javelin. "Bakudo number sixty-two Hyapporankan!" she generated a blue-white glowing rod of into into her left hand and threw it at the enemy, once thrown it immediately multiplied into a hundred more rods intending to rain down onto him. Seeing the chains approaching her at immense speed to retaliate Momo decided to place up a shield in front of her. "Bakudo number eighty-one Danku!" once said Momo created a translucent barrier in the form of a large rectangular wall. If the attack was successful he'll be pinned against the wall allowing for Momo to unleash a flurry of fireball at him this time with exceptional speed and accuracy.

Shunsui
Artist: Bleach OST - Song: Mysterious - Word Count: 983
Shunsui had been moving at the absolute limit of his speed for around twenty seconds. It was just his luck that he'd been halfway to the captain commanders headquarters, and had a considerable distance to cover. In the distance he could still sense whatever dark presence had decided to enter Soul Society, as well as its minions. The sky had become dark, surely an effect of this corrupted energy, in addition to the garganta that spattered the sky. He also sensed Momo holding the being off, which was a relief. Although he often though of her as she had been four hundred years ago, she'd truly come in to her own now. He was confident that she would be fine until he arrived. Unfortunately they weren't likely to get much more help.
At the moment most of the Gotei was already neck deep in other conflicts, and he wasn't sure exactly what forces they had remaining. He, of course, had staid behind as, being captain of the fourth division, his main priority was the protection of Soul Society. Nearing the barrier that divided the Seireitei and the rukongai districts at a rapid pace, Shunsui began preparing himself for whatever it was that he would find on the other side. He drew his zanpakuto, the katana and wakizashi as eager as they'd ever been to play.
Holding his swords crossed defensively in front of his face Shunsui burst through the barrier, sending blue sparks traveling in all directions. As he passed through it though, the barrier held its form, still prepared to keep out anyone intending to invade their nice little home. He could see more clearly now the sort of devastation that was being brought down upon the Rukongai, and, in the distance, he saw Momo engaged with what appeared to be the leader of the group. He certainly possessed a sufficient amount of energy. Shunsui could make out no sign of damage on either of them, but as he approached he saw Momo unleash her bakudo towards the invader, certainly a devastating combination should it hit. Even more so now, as Shunsui was well in range to react, and he had no intention of holding anything back. With one final burst of speed, relying on his shunpo heavily, as he had been this entire time, Shunsui darted towards his foe.
It was true that Soul Society had been invaded in the past, and on one occasion Shunsui himself had been a primary component in its defense, but this seemed different. All those years ago when Ichigo had first invaded of course there was uproar, but Shunsui had never really felt this level of malice directed towards the Seireitei, or the Rukongai. It was obvious that in this situation there would be no taking it easy, and so from the start he was prepared to go all out.
Perhaps both of them had noticed Shunsui's approach already due to his vast spiritual pressure, and the fact that he did nothing to hide it, or maybe they hadn't. Although, if they weren't already aware that he was there, then they would be momentarily.
"Flower Wind Rage and Flower God Roar, Heavenly Wind Rage and Heavenly Demon Sneer. Katen Kyōkotsu."
Again, Shunsui made no attempt to conceal his presence. He spoke loudly, and with authority as he sprang into a jump. His purpose was mainly to gain some height, but he did move horizontally as well, so by the time he'd reached the zenith of his path he was only 20 or so feet from Momo and the invader. Now that he was in the perfect position Shunsui held his katana and wakizashi so that they were as far to the right as he could comfortable hold them, and then began to spin. He only completed two or three revolutions, but in this time he built up a tremendous amount of speed, and with that he unleashed his attack.
"Bushōgoma"
He uttered the command immediately upon his final rotation, and from his zanpakuto shot forth two large blades of pure wind. One of them he'd aimed directly at the being facing down Momo. If her Bakudo did happen to hit then it would be a sure fire thing, although either way his aim was true, and one would need to react very quickly to dodge something so big moving towards them so quickly. The other blade of wind he aimed at a group of hollows he could see gathering further in the distance. He doubted they would be able to dodge at all from the energy levels he was picking up.
With his attack completed Shunsui began to descend towards Momo, landing only a few seconds later. He kept his focus on the enemy to see what their reaction would be, but at the same time he addressed Momo, unfortunately not able to look her way as he usually preferred to do when speaking with someone.
"Good work holding them back Momo. What do you say we send these jokers packing?"
With that, he focused his attention entirely on the opponent before him. Saying nothing yet, Shunsui simply stared his foe down. Gazing into the beings eyes he felt there was something wrong about it, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Nonetheless, whatever was to come he was ready for. With his massive amount of energy Shunsui began to gradually exert pressure. He was merely probing his enemy for the moment. He would constantly raise the pressure until he saw some sort of reaction, if he saw any at all. Momo might feel this as well, but he had no intention of doing this for any real length of time, so he was willing to accept that. After all, it wasn't anything that would actually cause her harm.

Artist:Dark Deception - Song:OST - Word Count: 1474
The fun wouldn't end so soon it seemed. The moment the woman's zanpakto blocked the oncoming slash, she'd feel a sudden surge of pressure bearing down on it. Sparks flew from the blades clashing, steel grinding against steel. Even with how obvious his attack was, he was a tad surprised to see they were even able to react in time at all. Still, even blocked the strength behind the blade was immense. The ground quivered beneath them, cracking from the pressure. A feeling of dread continued to build in the air as the invader smiled. He gave them one final push with the jagged blade before backing off and continuing his plan regardless. Without taking the lead right away, it was no shock that each attack that followed met little, of any success.
The crimson bars clashed in the air as the woman moved, a small explosion forming where they once stood that cracked the landscape and shattered the bars of light. Not losing any momentum, the next kido darted for the skies where she headed next, his visor giving a clear view of the battlefield and his foe's every move. It was then that he started to notice something else approaching, a spiritual power far greater than the one he was up against, and even higher than his own. Someone that strong still remained here with the invasion on the Monsuta? No matter.... The Hollow King's goal wasn't to win, so it didn't matter a lot in the long run. The rope wrapped around the barrier spell, constricting tightly enough around it to crack it. But Momo was safe for now. The looming presence got closer, just as the barrage of bars darted for the pale shinigami's form.
Catching Shunsii in the corner of their eye and feeling their building strength from releasing their zanpakto, Ruvik appeared distracted for the faintest moment. He took a step back, analyzing the newcomer's strength and appearing to briefly forget the bakudo all-together. The bars slammed into his body, catching him off guard. The pale figure went flying toward the wall behind them, numerous bars slamming into them and pinning them against the surface. The wall cracked from the impact, a little blood spilling from their throat. They were bound and open to being attacked. The barrage of fireballs and the oncoming blast of wind closed in, twin forces of destruction that could very well kill an ordinary foe when they connected...But as the attacks approached?
The body attached to the wall faded, nothing more than a prolonged image left behind. In the moment of Shunsui's debut and the second before the bars connected, Ruvik focused a trace of his power into Utsusemi to disappear and leave a tangible afterimage in his wake, giving it a moment's extra life by pouring some energy into the duplicate. By the time they noticed it disappearing? Ruvik already appeared behind his target. It was no longer Momo, but the stronger threat that appeared. Just as quickly as they attacked, Shunsui would feel immense killer intent and pressure spilling over them. It wasn't just a feeling of bloodlust, but the pressure of someone that wanted to torture and breed suffering in those against them by any means.
In the wake of Shunsui's attack, the Hollow in reaper flesh stood behind the Captain, their blade still poised in their hand...But instead of slashing with it? They used their free hand to not only strike more quickly, but make use of one of his newer talents. He tapped into the soul of the damned, altering his body structure in the instant between his hand lunging forward and the time it'd hit miss, or be blocked. Their skin became shrouded in billions of microscopic blades, turning their seemingly normal hand into a cutting tool finer than the sharpest scalpel. It not only made every motion more deadly but protected the flesh and allowed it to contend with blades and other dangerous abilities with just their skin. It descended toward Shunsui's shoulder at blurred speeds, the body enhanced with Ruvik's essence to bypass the limits of the brain and act with unnaturally good speed and reaction time. The air itself was split, and if it connected fully with the immense strength behind it? It could easily cut through flesh and bone, ripping right through Shunsui's arm and severing it clean off of their body! Alternatively, if they blocked or dodged it in the split second of time they had, sparks would fly when the simple, but powerful assault reached an abrupt halt, a shockwave of kinetic energy spilling from that point and blowing across the battlefield.
In addition to the bladed skin he now dawned, the husk Ruvik adorned began to radiate a new form of energy all-together. It not only combined the essence of a Shinigami and a Hollow, as well as the twisted energy that could almost be called demonic but now sported nuclear radiation! The air around him became visible, slight traces of nuclear power spilling from their body and drastically heating up the area around them. While having little serious effect, it did add another air of danger to the creature's presence and make their power appear even denser than before!
The Hollows, on the other hand, were easy pickings. The group was easily destroyed by the second blast of winds, but that just leads to the same problem as before. The more they killed? The stronger those that remained would become. The pressure throughout Rukon didn't shift even with that batch destroyed It wasn't a big deal, so long as the majority were fine, and while they were busy fighting him? The strongest Shinigami wouldn't be able to go and find the rest. The fodder wasn't of much concern either. But having these two continuously destroy his pets was becoming a nuisance...Perhaps he;d return the favor soon enough.
Ruvik followed up quickly. Regardless of whether Shunsui blocked, dodged, or was successfully struck, the same palm would start to glow. A crimson shine rippled outward from their skin, waves of spiraling red shining through the darkened sky. It only took a second for an entire cero to form in their palm, glowing brightly with heavy destructive potential. It aimed right for the Captain, whether point-blank, a small distance away from evading the strike before, or right up against any obstruction in its path. An enormous cero fired, the transparent beam of destruction shrouding the district in a flash of crimson light. Whether point-blank or fired from a distance, the power behind it was grander than most, able to contend with higher level Hadō while forming in a fraction of the time. Whatever it hit would be met with a large explosion, a plume of explosive energy that rendered most that it touched to ash and left a trail of flames, melted earth or flesh in its wake. Despite the destruction and vile nature that followed their every move, the pale puppet was entirely composed and relaxed. The visor over their face picked up on hundreds of details around them, sending information right to Ruvik's mind so he could react and plan accordingly by the second.
The battle was finally beginning, and even with their numbers, it would prove challenging one to face. While not as immense as Shunsui's, Ruvik's spiritual pressure was still on a fearsome level, a combination of so many demented powers that it was nigh impossible to deduce the exact adversary they were up against.
Used power, Body of Blades:
Body Of Edges:
Demonica’s Body Of Edges, As it suggests, her body itself is a living incarnate of a shredding edge. Each of these countless edges have the ability to cut with the strength of a zan, and are honed to a sharpness that seems to never be able to dull. However this is the very staple of her immense levels of defense, Being designed to indiscriminately cut through anything and everything that generally comes in contact with her body. It isn’t defense, its unorthodox levels of strength in attack, as her blades encompass a 360 degree radius of her body, and are a literal part of her skin, intended to cut kill main and render into a cloud that not even dust is classifiable acceptable for.
This means as well, Demonica’s body rarely comes in contact with the elements, instead? Demonica’s body beyond her blades is kind of in a contained environment, shreds most molcules which are coming in contact with her. This is because thanks to her massive reserves of demonic energy, her body in it'self has no dull edges, it is merely a large object which has been honed and sharpened until merely coming into contact with her body is enough to shred steel and rend gemstone apart.
However, interestingly enough ,due to the year demonica spent being combined with a being known as Ninsun Asthavon , Daughter of Inami, Demonica’s body of edges, has evolved further, from the introduction energies that linger in hell due to the Necropolis system that is dormant in ninsuns body. So in comparison to how it was originally, the Body of edges currently is stronger then the original. Below will explain the characteristics, both evolved and normal.
Below I will explain the main characteristics of her blades.
1: Sharpness/ Cutting power: In terms of her cutting ability the bladed aspect of demonica's body is strong enough at this point to rip through the molecule structure's that bond together objects, although she is unable to pull off feats such as cutting light, or tearing through object's smaller than mere molecules. However the reason for her body being able to work on a molecule level is the fact that her body in itself is one gigantic blade. As in every surface of her body is created specifically to be able to cut things apart.
2: Durability/ Longevity: Of course her blades have both longevity and at the same time have durability. Because her blades are built to cut and rend even the hardest substances, they are built to last, and more importantly built to be able to cut, to mince, to grind, to rip , and to shred. These blades you must understand have been built with the sole intention in mind of actually causing death to actually make it so the foe will be killed instead of them living on and surviving another day, And because of this, well it’s no wonder that she is so dangerous.
3: Demonic Energy : Her demon energy is naturally interconnected with her body as a method of self preservation. It function's primarily as a sharpener for her blade's maintaining their sharpness in the case that they have been dulled down or hit by something stronger than her blades. A byproduct of this is that her body in general radiates a saturated shell of demonic energies at all times that continues to pulsate from her body because of this.
5: Energy Destruction: In both her sealed and unsealed state, demonica possesses the ability to cut through energy attack’s just as effectively as she is able to plow through physical attacks. Primarily this is because her blade’s by themselves are already naturally interconnected with her demonic energy reserves. Meaning that these blades are able to come into contact with energy based attacks and cut through them quite easily. Take into account that her offense is also extreme to the point that she is considered to be a living metaphorical blade and it shouldn’t be that difficult to see how, even in her sealed state demonica is able to bisect energy attacks of those that are of similar tier to her without that much difficulty.
6: Basic Principle: Demonica’s body is built on a simple principle, that principle is to behave like a blade. Naturally this means that every given inch of her body has been sharpened and built with the sole intention to cut thing’s apart. It’s not a very elaborate design, but it is none the less a deadly one. This is why for the most part demonica’s cutting ability has been elevated to an extremely high level, and is also why without much difficulty she is able to cut through attacks of the same powered tier as her as if running her hand through water. Her whole point is to cut through things accurately. Cleanly. And without incident. Beyond this the only real characteristic of her’s that is in any way .. slightly complicated would be the fact that she also manipulates nuclear energies this being the only other real power that she has because her potency is present thanks to her simplicity. As the more complex someone’s abilities and structure gets? The more spread out the power gets, and in short her body is made to cut, and cause nuclear explosions, and thank’s to the fact logically seeing as her body is designed to do two singular things. It means her abilities are honed so that she can elevate those two things to truly ridiculous levels.

PLUM BLOSSOM
MOMO HINAMORI
What confused her was how he didn't dodge the barrage of rods coming straight towards him too distracted by shunsui's presence? "Thud" the rods pinning him against the wall before she saw a bit of blood erupt from his mouth so with that Momo wasted no time and fired a barrage of fireballs at him "Tobiume scream!" with the swing of her sword the screaming sounds of seagulls hurled towards the enemy and landed a direct hit..or did it. As smoke began filling the area as the fireballs destroyed the wall completely but there was no body.. Momo's mind was circling with questions.
There's no way this fight could be over easily, no way an opponent would go out of his way to set up an invasion just to be defeated by a kido and fireballs..unless
Momo's eyes opened is disbelief as she realized the opponent was still alive and utilized a high level utisma to make a quick after image of himself Momo turned her head as the enemy was ready to strike Shunsui with his razor sharp hand, she couldn't let another captain fall in front of her again not since aizen's invasion on karakura.
Shunsui Look out! Momo screamed at the top of lungs hoping that Shunsui would hear her if Shunsui had enough time to react , Momo tried to quickly utilize hoho and retaliate with her sword hoping to block the strike but was she quick enough to the draw? Only time will tell.

Shunsui
Artist: Bleach OST - Song: Mysterious - Word Count: 602
Shunsui immediately noticed that something was wrong when his opponent simply took the attacks coming toward him. If he had any idea of his foe's power whatsoever, and he thought that he did, then they should have gotten out of that situation quite easily. Almost instantly he felt the animosity wash over him. Based on the strength of the feeling he could tell that he was the focus of this killing intent. That led him to believe that he was being attacked as he thought about it. There was no one in front of him, so he instinctively turned his body around, performing a parry at the same time.
Shunsui turned almost a complete 180 degrees before his blade made contact with his opponents arm. At nearly the same time he could hear Momo screaming, and caught her form moving towards him in the corner of his eye. As he made contact the force was explosive, and there was an ear-splitting crack, but he was thankfully able to defend himself without receiving any injuries. Normal flesh and bone would have been cut cleanly, so he expected that there was something different about his foe's body. Before he had much time to think it over though, he found himself under attack again.
He sensed a new type of power coming from his opponent. An energy that he'd been aware of before, but nothing that he'd ever noticed coming from a living being. It was almost a sickening sensation, a wholly unnatural power source for something breathing. He sensed at the same time that the hollows he'd targeted previously had perished, but that the group still possessed the same amount of energy as a whole. Interesting, but inconsequential in the end. Noticing that his opponent was readying a cero, Shunsui began to perform his own attack. He began by directing his energy into his blade as quickly as he was able, and then swinging and releasing it, much like he did with his first attack.
"Hadō 78, Zangerin."
As he spoke a blast of energy shot from Shunsui's blade. He aimed his attack directly at his enemy's hand, hoping to nullify the cero to the best of his ability. He hoped that this would prove effective, or else he would be left with few options to defend himself. In the split second before his attack connected Shunsui brought his blade up once more, placing it in a way that he would have an easier time parrying anything coming towards him from his opponent's direction. Shunsui wasn't sure how far this battle would go, but he hoped he would be fine using only his shikai. It could be difficult at times to use those abilities to his advantage, and so he had to always be several steps ahead of his opponent.
With a quick glance over his shoulder Shunsui could see that Momo was still moving towards him, closer now. Her presence made things even more complicated, as he had to consider how she could be taken advantage of were he to use his abilities in certain ways. He trusted Momo to take care of herself, but it would be best to not put her in a more dangerous situation than she was already in. Shunsui had very little time to think his strategy through, but he'd been doing this for a long time now, and eventually you got good at figuring things out on the fly. With a plan in mind Shunsui continued to stare down his enemy, wary of any further attacks.
