I. Basic Information
» Name: Karin Kurosaki
» Titles: The Ronin
» Appearance Age: Late 20's-Early 30's
» True Age: 430
» Gender: Female
» Affiliation/Rank: Unaffiliated
» Appearance Description: Where Yuzu and Ichigo favor their mother's features, Karin has always been the Kurosaki child who most resembled their father, Isshin. With strong, sharp features for a woman, and the height to almost match her brother at 5'10", Yuzu is by far the more imposing of the Kurosaki twins. Her black hair, formerly cropped short, now reaches down to the small of her back; at first, because her childhood crush liked it, and then because she discovered that she liked her hair long. While feminine, her figure is mostly hard muscle, reflecting what is, at this point, the hard work of a couple centuries.
Ever since her exposure to the Hollowfication virus used as a weapon during World War 3, Karin's eyes have been an almost luminescent ruby red. Her Shinigami uniform has been altered over the years to reflect her independence, incorporating light, red armored plating in strategic locations as a mark of individuality and a concession to the practicality of both armor and free range of motion. Her obi is lightly decorated with simple bird and bamboo patterns. Karin's Hollow Mask, when she chooses to don it, is an intimidating piece of craftsmanship, shaped to emphasize the four glowing red eye sockets set into the bone and accented with night-black lines.

- An End, and a Beginning:
- Kurosaki Karin had lived a long life, but all good things came to an end eventually. She'd seen a lot of things in her eighty-three years, done a lot of things, but now, this rainy summer afternoon as she laid in her bed in the Kurosaki family household, she reflected on her family.
She'd gotten her wish, she guessed. She was the normal one. No spirits, outside of that business with Urahara after Ichi-nii lost his powers, but that little hobby had ended when her big brother had gotten his own Shinigami powers back. No Hollows, anyway. There were always spirits, but they were more like normal people than half the living people she knew. Ichi-nii, Goat-Chin, her sister Yuzu, all spiritually active and eternally youthful, while Kurosaki Karin got her wish to stay out of all this business with the Hollows, live a normal life, grow old.
She'd never gotten around to giving their dad the grandkids he always wanted. She kept fearing having to explain that, of her family, the only ones left alive were her sister, and sister-in-law Orihime, but her dad and brother still popped in for tea every now and then looking exactly the same as they'd always looked. Or that was what she'd told herself through college, but really, Karin was just afraid of commitment, especially with the secrets she'd have to keep. She'd had a crush on Shiro-chan for a while, but that had been an awful idea. He was way too old for her, despite looking like a middle-schooler, and oh how he hated when Karin pointed that out whenever he came to visit, but she was an old woman, now. She was entitled to mock the visiting kids, nevermind that Shiro-chan was centuries old.
Maybe it was the Kurosaki in her, but she didn't really feel bad about dying. All her affairs were in order (it helped when you were sure your next of kin was going to outlive you by a lot), and really, with their family, Karin wasn't going anywhere fast. She couldn't deny she was looking forward to leaving her body behind at this point. She joked that Yuzu, the spitting image of their mother, had gotten all the good genes. Sure, Karin had been a real looker back in her day, but her hair was grey now, her back stooped from arthritis, all skin and bones and fluffy slippers.
As she leaned back and closed her eyes, Karin knew that this would be the last time before she woke up apart from her body, somewhere in the Rukongai, possibly missing her memories. Sure enough, as she drifted off to what could almost be sleep, she felt all the little aches and pains fade away, and almost immediately she awoke.
It was a nondescript Rukongai neighborhood, but the fact that she knew it was the Rukongai was important. She could remember! She hadn't trained her spiritual powers since she was a child, but Kurosaki breeding prevailed over the laws of nature and good sense once again, it seemed. She remembered everyone! Her father, her sister, her brother; Rukia-nee and Byakuya and Renji and Chad and Orihime, none of her memories were gone like she'd feared, before she'd just gotten sick of hurting all the time.
The sound of running water caught her attention, and she walked over to a stream in the pale moonlight of the dead Rukongai night, eager to see what she looked like now that she felt so much better. The former old maid was met with more than one surprise; the first thing she noticed filled her with pleasant happiness; "I'm 23 again!" She'd missed her black hair, her toned figure, the ability to stand upright without pain. Then she saw something else. Her robes were the black and white uniform of a Shinigami. Just like her father and brother, her spirit appeared somehow attuned with the psychopomps that governed the afterlife, though unlike Ichi-nii, she hadn't spontaneously generated a sword. Then again, Rukia-nee had transferred her powers into Ichigo when that had happened, so the circumstances were hardly comparable to a peaceful death.
Obviously, this meant something, but Karin didn't know what. Thankfully, she knew who would. With that encouraging thought, a newly dead, newly young Kurosaki Karin set off towards the towering walls of the Seireitei in the distance at a light jog, off to see the Kuchiki family for a little catching up.
She should probably tell someone she'd died, after all.
- Shin'ō Academy Admission:
- As one of the newly dead, and as a spirit strong enough to require food, Karin had been presented with few options. She could have gone it alone, but that would've been foolish. Half her extended family was in the Seireitei. She could have lived with one of them; Rukia and Ichigo would have gladly put her up with her own apartment in Seireitei, nevermind anyone else they knew, but she didn't like being dependent on anyone else. That was part of why she'd hated getting old.
That left one option; getting a job on her own, supporting herself like she had when she was alive. Of course, there was really only one occupation she knew for certain she would be good at; following her brother's footsteps, albeit more formally. All it had taken was a quick conversation with Rukia, and Karin had applied for a position in Shin'ō Academy, which brought her to today. The test... really hadn't been anything for her. She could see where people had trouble with it, but really, it was a test for three things; Reiatsu, general knowledge, and compatibility with the Gotei 13. Karin was a little anti-authoritarian, but not really any worse than Renji; they both knew when to go with the flow, really only making waves when it was necessary. She'd picked up plenty of the second item from talking with Ichi-nii and the other Shinigami in her life, and Reiatsu wasn't ever going to be a problem for anyone whose name was Kurosaki. Not when their mother had been one of the brightest Quincy of her age and their dad was a former Captain.
Karin stood in the white and red uniform of a Shin'ō Academy student, waiting for her instructor. She'd been placed in Class #1, and their instructor was due to meet them in just a few minutes. Karin was jolted into hyper-awareness by a sudden presence at the front of the class, a tall, broad-shouldered, bald man in a Shinigami uniform who'd appeared disconcertingly swiftly and silently, with a loud bellow.
"Listen up! I am Gengorō Ōnabara, and I'll be your chief instructor during your time at the Academy! You are all members of First Year Class #1. You have been chosen according to your test results- we've assembled all of the top-scoring students into this class. In other words, this is a special, accelerated class, for only the best new trainees! For each of you in Class #1, there will be no rest until you've been accepted into one of the Soul Society's elite military units! In the coming months and years, your training will forge you into the iron core at the heart of those units! It is for this purpose that, each and every day, you will dedicate your body and soul..."
As excited as he sounded, Ōnabara-sensei had one hell of a rambling opening speech, and despite her best efforts the exact words of the end slipped her mind. It was the same as AP courses in high school, "you're the best of the best so we're going to work you to the bone because you can handle it" type threats/promises. Still, he was right on every count there. Karin wasn't going to settle for anything less than the best. Toshiro had graduated in just a few years, and she knew that creepy white-haired guy who'd backstabbed Aizen in Karakura Town had done it in one.
Karin stood with the rest of the class when they were dismissed, a wide smile plastered on her face. She'd heard people before Ōnabara-sensei showed up, claiming that she was only in Class #1 because of who her brother was. She was going to meet that one-year record. She wouldn't let anyone so much as think she was anything but Karin Kurosaki; she'd lived her whole life in Ichigo's shadow, and as much as she loved her big brother, she'd be damned if she kept to the man's shade in the afterlife, too.
- First Encounters:
- Karin was a bit ahead of the curve when it came to knowledge about Zanpakuto spirits. She was from a family of Shinigami, most of her brother's friends were either Shinigami themselves or also clued in on the way they worked, the list just went on, so she knew she was supposed to communicate with the sword they'd given her upon enrolling. She'd learned Jinzen, she'd meditated with the blade, and she'd entered the moonlit city of her inner world. She'd canvassed its every street, learned the location of every building, and searched the facsimile of her childhood house with a fine-toothed comb.
Nobody was there.
She'd mentioned this to their Zanjutsu teacher, but he'd assured her that someone was there, and that Zanpakuto spirits were finicky and she had six whole years within which to attain Shikai. She hadn't corrected him out loud, not wanting to disrespect her sensei in front of the class since the man did know what he was talking about, but Karin still aimed to be out of here in one year, not three like Toshiro and not six like the average student.
Honestly, Ichigo had learned Shikai in two months. From the way he told the story, less, if you only started counting from the time he found out about it. How hard could it possibly be?
After three months of meditating in practically every moment not taken up by PT, coursework, food, sleep, or hygene, apparently, the answer was "harder than she thought." Still, three months into Class #1's curriculum was a big event. The first trip to the World of the Living, to learn to perform Konso. She'd grabbed her nameless blade like the rest of her class and filed off to the wonderful locale of... Australia.
She wouldn't say she'd never been a little curious about Australia,
but she didn't think there were a lot of wayward souls around here compared to, say, Naruki City. Apparently, she was wrong, as there were indeed enough pluses roaming the Outback for the small Class #1 to practice Konso on, spread out though they might have been. After a standard safety lecture, they'd been sent out to find Pluses in the nearby area to send onwards. There was no Hollow attack, no horrible accident, nothing at all out of the ordinary.
Nothing except the voice that rang through her mind as she walked the blasted Australian hellscape.
"Why?", it asked. "Why did you wait until now?" The voice sounded rough from disuse and disinterest both, resonating through her very soul, and she knew, if not who it was, then what it was. Not what it meant, however.
"Why did I wait until now for what?"
"Don't be an idiot, Karin. Why did you wait your entire damn life before seeking me out? Why did you make me watch you die before you even gave a thought to me existing?"
Karin froze in her tracks, thankful nobody was directly around to see her. The exercise was probably designed like this on purpose, she realized, to give everyone some time for reflection. Out here, where it wasn't forced.
"You're avoiding the question, Karin. Answer me!"
"You already know why, dammit!" Karin shouted, confusion making her default to anger. Anger was safer than confusion. Definitely safer than regret. "I wasn't supposed to be a Shinigami when I was alive. That was Ichi-nii. Yuzu got Mom's Quincy powers, Dad got his Shinigami powers back, and I was the normal child! I wasn't a Shinigami, I wasn't a Quincy, I was just Karin!"
"Normal children don't kill giant monsters with soccer balls."
She didn't have a response for that.
"Of course you don't, I'm right. So why didn't you keep learning? Why did you ignore me for your whole life?"
She couldn't answer that, either.
"You could. You just don't want to. And that's why I don't want to meet you."
She felt her Zanpakuto's presence in her mind quiet, the spirit retreating to whatever sanctum he had in her soul. She might've been able to stop him, somehow, but she didn't try. He'd shaken her, he'd hurt her. Karin had spent her whole life trying not to let people hurt her. And where did that get you, Karin? You died alone, because you didn't want to open up to anyone when you were alive. Are you going to do that for this life, too?
She finished her assignment, successfully performing Konso on the first Plus she found, on the first try even, but for a long while afterwards, the thoughts that shook her conviction came from her own mind, not any sword-spirit.
- Riddles on Riddles:
- Karin's sword snapped up to guard, her sparring partner glaring down at her with both hands on the hilt of his own asauchi. Karin, herself, was using one hand on the blade. Something she'd discovered in the first week of class is that being the weakest member of the Kurosaki household did not translate into being the weakest in the academy, not here where spiritual power was everything. Her twenty-something female body, almost six feet tall and built like an average woman's, was practically supporting the entire weight of a 6'6" man built like the lovechild of a linebacker and a restaurant-grade freezer with one arm. Not that she could do anything with that arm; it was well and truly locked, but then, there were actually benefits to not having the mind-numbing amount of reiryoku that Ichi-nii and her father commanded. Namely, Kido.
"Hadō Number 1, Sho!" She shouted, thrusting her free left palm forward and letting the incantation shape reiryoku into a sphere of force that caught her opponent in the chest and made him stumble back. A rush of air and a flicker of motion, a rough and wasteful Shunpo but still better than she'd been able to manage the first month of classes, brought her behind him, blade held up against his throat, not touching but close enough for his breath to fog the metal. "Yield."
He did, of course. Those were the rules. Karin didn't pay much attention to him past that, still distracted from last week's Australia field trip. Her sword... why was it so angry with her? What was she missing? He'd said that she knew why she'd ignored him, but she'd already answered that. She wanted to be the normal child, she'd said that earlier in their conversation. Except... that wasn't it, was it? If that had been it, he'd have accepted the answer. Her Zanpakuto was part of her, after all. It would know...
Damn right, I would, the cynical voice chimed in for the second time in Karin's life (and afterlife). I do, in fact. You aren't being honest with yourself, or with me.
Aren't those the same thing?
Yes. No. All of the above, I guess, the voice responded. You don't know, so even if I do know, it's not like I can just tell you. Come inside, to your house. The teacher'll know what you're doing and you know it.
Karin nodded, surprised, and moved to a corner of the room to sit down, sword across her lap. She slowed her breathing, closed her eyes, and focused on the sword, pulling herself inward, falling, always falling into the darkness between the real world and the inner one, which was also just as real even if it was all in her head. "In your soul," the tobacco-cured voice of her Zanpakuto said, as her eyes snapped open outside the Kurosaki family clinic. "Not in your head, Karin."
It was the first time she'd caught sight of her Zanpakuto spirit. She should have been impressed, but she wasn't; he was a little taller than her, about Ichigo's height, with raven-black hair slicked back out of his face. He smelled of drink, his clothes were wrinkled and crooked, and he had an air of assymetry to him that made it seem like he was set to fall over at any given moment. "Does it matter?" She asked, glaring slightly up at him.
"I don't know, really. It's a distinction, but it doesn't really change much. It's still you, just like I'm still you, but then I'm not the world, and you aren't me or the world." He didn't slur, despite everything Karin could see about the man telling her that he should be slurring. It was more unnerving than if he had been; like he was every inch the perfect image of a drunk man but at the same time clearly, awfully sober. More sober than Karin, who hadn't had a drink in decades. More sober than people who'd never touched alcohol, so sane and aware of the world around him that it hurt. "I'm tired, Karin. I'm tired of you taking so damn long to get it on your own, and violence is really the only answer you understand, so defend yourself." He said it like it was a chore, not a fight, that he was starting, a heavy, thick, reflective blade practically appearing in his hand as he swung it at her.
Karin didn't waste time asking what he was doing, or why. He was going to try to beat what he thought was sense into her, that much was obvious. She stepped to the side, out of the way of the opening strike, and drew her own blade, both hands on the hilt this time. "Good, good, you already know not to take my lightly!" He shouted, slashing at her carelessly, almost bonelessly, despite the fact that when their blades met Karin was sent skidding across the street, barely keeping upright by letting herself slide over reiryoku and air instead of asphalt.
Karin wasn't going to stay on the defensive forever; she lifted her left hand from her blade and pointed it at the spirit, incanting a Kido spell. "Hadō Number 4, Byakurai!" The bolt of lightning grounded out on the metal sword in his hands, to no visible effect, and Karin growled, using Shunpo to close the gap again and start testing his defenses. "I thought I told you the answer to your question!" She shouted, as the man flicked her strikes away with something resembling contempt.
"An answer, not the answer," he replied. "It's true, but it's not the real answer." An upwards flick of his blade put Karin on the defensive; she barely recovered in time to get the sword between the two of them and stop his return blow from opening her torso. "You aren't telling yourself the truth. You don't want to admit it, even after all these decades you've had to come to terms with it!" The hurt in his voice was evident as he began pushing her back, towards the house. "You run, you hide. You do everything you can to get away from admitting what you don't want to say, even to yourself, even in your own mind, your own soul!" He kicked her then, sending her crashing through the wooden door and into the entryway of her childhood home. A picture of all of them; Dad, Mom, Ichi-nii and Yuzu, cracked as the back of her head slammed into it.
"And what?" She shouted, dizzy from the impact. Wet blood matted the back of her hair where bits of the glass from the frame had cut into her scalp. "What is it that you think I'm so afraid of?" She looked to the door, now nothing but splinters and sawdust, as her Zanpakuto advanced on her.
He sank the sword into the wood next to her head, clearly done making his point. "You already know. You just can't admit it." And then he was gone, and the strange other sword went with him.
When Karin awoke, it was to find the back of her head wet with blood and her teacher standing above her, hands glowing green. "I see you've found your Zanpakuto," Onbara-sensei said, helping her to her feet. "I've fixed your head wound, but you probably want to take a quick shower before your next class. Blood is a pain to get out of hair, believe me, I know."
Karin nodded mutely before mumbling a polite "Thank you," and setting off for the showers like he'd told her to, her mind consumed with what was now the second encounter with her Zanpakuto. She showered quickly, rinsing off her hair thoroughly and dying the soapy water pink as it spiraled down the drain. Riddles on riddles, and no answers in sight, though if the man in her soul was to be believe, she already had all the answers, if she'd just look at them.
She was starting to get really frustrated with herself.
- Awakening:
- It had been a month and a half since Karin had spoken with her Zanpakuto for the second time, and they had not been strangers. Almost every day, Karin would enter Jinzen, her sword would spar with her, and she'd lose, usually with some minor cuts that were just bad enough to send her to get some medical attention from one of the students practicing healing Kido. Every single day, he'd tell her she still didn't get it. That she didn't have the answer he was looking for.
Today, he didn't leave after he beat her, his blade bearing down on hers with strength enough to lock them both in place. "So what wrong answer are you going to give me today?" he asked her, voice cold and sharp. "Maybe I should really hurt you, if you're going to keep lying to me like this. Keep hurting me like this. All I wanted, all I ever wanted, was to work with you. You made me watch you die, Karin! WHY?"
Something broke, there, in the depths of her inner world. The anguish in his voice, the knowledge that this was a part of her she'd made hurt, and she knew why. Damn her, but Karin knew exactly why she'd shunned her powers. "I was scared," she said, voice unnaturally small for her. "Scared that if I didn't step away I'd never be able to, that I'd always be fighting, that I'd never get to just be me."
The pressure let up, her Zanpakuto spirit dropping his blade to the side and helping her onto her feet. "That's what you needed to confront before we could work together. Come on, walk with me." He led her down the street and into a small park, striding down a lightly wooded pathway as he talked. "You've always thought courage was not being afraid. You've always tried so, so hard to have courage, to be the strong one, to be there for your sister and your father. But it's not a sin to need help, Karin. It's not bad to be afraid. It's what you do when you're afraid that matters, that makes you truly brave, and you do that all the time. You face the things you're afraid of, like you faced me, but you think because you're afraid you've failed, and you can never admit that you even have fear. Denial will get you killed, Karin."
Her Zanpakuto sat down on a bench, leaning back against a tree. Karin opted to stand, arms crossed and back to the tree opposite him. "So what, all that just to get me to say that I was afraid? That instead of doing what I always do, in everything, I ran away from that one thing and that's somehow unforgivable? Am I going to have to charge headfirst at everything in my life?" Her voice raised at the end, leaving her shouting in the almost-empty city in her soul. "Why have I got to-"
"Because, Karin!" He cut her off, voice louder than hers. "Because that's what you are! Because you're a Kurosaki, and that makes you a target! You know, you know all the shit Ichigo had to face because of who he is, and we're the same way! Long-lost Shibas coming home, the most human Shinigami in the Society, Kurosakis! You don't get to run, because if you run, you get shot in the back! You ran from me, but you can't do that, because I'm the only one who's going to be there for you, always. I am you, and if you're running from yourself you'll never get anywhere!"
"Fine," Karin bit out, voice harsh, advancing on the seated spirit with her fists clenched. "Fine, damn it! I get it! I'm not allowed to be afraid anymore."
"No! That's exactly the wrong thing. You will be afraid. Everyone's afraid. You don't need to forget that, but you need to master it. If you don't, you freeze, and if you freeze, you die. There's a saying that all of the Shiba clan Zanpakuto have. You've never heard it, nobody ever says it, but it's etched into all of our family's souls, written in lines of crimson fire across the entire clan's spirit. 'Retreat and you will age. Hesitate and you will die.' That's who you need to be, Karin Kurosaki, Karin Shiba, if you're going to pursue this path, and you will. You can't see yourself doing anything else, can you?"
There was a grin on the spirit's face, one mirrored on Karin's own visage. "That's what you've been trying to tell me? Only took me a couple decades to get the message, I guess. Fine, then. I won't run. I won't panic, and I won't hesitate either."
"Excellent. One last condition, though, before I give you my name."
"Oh?"
"We do this, we aim for the top. We don't play second fiddle to anyone. Not next year, not next century maybe, but one day, the two of us are going to know everyone down a peg to make room at the top, including Ichigo. You want to work with me, that's my deal. We become the best so I never have to see you die again. Once was enough."
"That's all? Deal." Karin held out her hand, and the sword spirit took it, pulling himself upright before giving her a handshake.
"My name, then, Karin Kurosaki, is Kaegetsu. Call me out when it's time to harvest the souls of the damned, eh?"
- The War:
- To say that nobody expected World War Three was a lie, but Karin had genuinely not expected the Gotei to actually get involved with it. Everyone expected some kind of conflict, yes, but, over a hundred years after graduating, Karin, and most of Soul Society, thought things were, at least on the spiritual front, calming down again. The events in Africa had given Karin's squad, Squad 11, far more work in the World of the Living; sure, they weren't subtle, but out in the Savannah and the deserts throughout the continent of Africa, subtlety was a moot point, and when there was combat to be had, Squad 11 was the best.
When the disparate forces suddenly coalesced into proper factions, the shit hit the fan real quick. A few extermination missions to remote and downright boring locales became actual combat deployments in months, but the war didn't move with the pace of the German Blitzkrieg. No, this was World War 1 trenches brought to a new height; fifty long years of grinding war, a multitude of allies and enemies and deals with both, Shinigami dying to Demons and Hollows with alarming frequency.
Still, Karin Kurosaki kept fighting. "Nihil supernum," Kaegetsu had told her. "It's Latin for 'nothing better.' That's what you swore, and now's your chance to get to work. Prove it. Keep your friends alive." That's what he'd told her before unlocking, not Bankai, but the full power of her Shikai, five years into the war, after she'd watched half her team get wiped out by a demon before Ichi-nii had noticed that they were having trouble and flicked a Getsuga Tensho over that practically ate the demon that did it. Karin gripped a polished steel scythe in both hands the very next day, and if the other two Squad 11 Shinigami deployed with her had some strange marks on their backs, then nobody said anything, especially not when Karin could suddenly appear behind them in a rush of Shunpo just in time to stop a Hollow from taking a bite out of their ass. It wasn't Kido type, so there was no reason for anyone to be upset with her. If anything, it was just the kind of thing Squad 11 loved; arrogant declarations of might to the Nth degree, "These are mine, you cannot have them."
And of course, near the end, everything came back to Karakura Town. Everything always did end up coming back to Karakura, in the end. Karin hadn't joined the siege to begin with, because she'd sought out an old family friend. Kisuke Urahara took Karin down below his humble store and allowed her to use the Tenshintai, and that had led to this moment, crystallized violence about to break, as Karin and Kaegetsu stood opposite each other in the Urahara Shop's training room. "So, Kaegetsu, what's the deal now? What hard truth do you want from me this time? What test have I got to pass now?"
"No truths or tests today, Karin," the sword spirit had said, resting his scythe, the mirror of the one in Karin's hands, across his shoulders, blade curving up to the sky. "Just one thing you need to do before I tell you my real name. One simple task before I give you Bankai."
"Oh? And what's that?" Karin had asked, smiling despite the siege going on above her, the brutal violence just a couple miles away at most.
"Nihil supernum. Prove you're better than me right now, and you get to see what I can really do."
So they'd fought. They'd fought before, but never like this. The woman and her Zanpakuto waged brutal, utterly physical war, forsaking Kido and Getsuga Tensho and pitting skill against skill, because this wasn't just about winning through a cheap shot or a trick. They fought for a day and a half, nonstop, to prove to both of them that, when she was finished, there would be nothing better than Karin Kurosaki. At noon on the second day, they'd stopped. They'd stopped when Karin had swatted Kaegetsu's scythe away, pivoted, and brought her own blade to rest against the Zanpakuto spirit's throat.
And half an hour later, a fully healed Karin Kurosaki had taken to the killing fields wielding Tensa Kaegetsu, an inky blotch of darkness scything through Hollow and Demon alike for the sin of daring to touch her home, her friends, her squad, and her family. She hadn't lasted long, drunk on the heady feeling of finally having Bankai after a century of work. She got careless, and the demonic biological weapons were what eventually laid her low.
The last of the war that Karin remembers is blacking out, white bone creeping across her face as her vision faded to black, the sound of a woman's insane laughter echoing through her soul as it felt like her heart was being extracted with a dull spoon.
It's not a feeling she'll ever forget.
- Waking up Hollow:
- Karin awoke with a jerk, clutching her chest and breathing heavily. She was halfway out of bed and frantically looking for Kaegetsu before she even noticed she wasn't in any place she recognized; it was a simple place, little more than a room with a roof, a door, a futon, and a small window in the back. The floor was sand, the walls looked like hardened sand, and when she looked out the window she saw nothing except more sand. An approaching reiatsu caught Karin's attention; it felt like an Arrancar, but it wasn't prepared for battle, and was either exceptionally weak or concealing its true strength.
Of all the things to walk through the door to the small hut, Karin wasn't expecting a familiar face. A tall woman, taller than Karin, with aquamarine hair, a goat-skull mask resting atop her head like a hat, and tattered green clothes barely concealing a generous figure. Two swords rested on her back; her own next to the sealed form of Kaegetsu, and she was carrying, of all things, a bag of food from KFC. Christmas already? Karin's sarcastic streak supplied, but she didn't actually make the joke.
"You're in trouble, Karin," Nel said, handing over the food and Karin's Zanpakuto before sitting down on the sandy floor of the hut. Karin, absolutely ravenous after God knows how long unconscious, said something vaguely resembling an expression of gratitude before biting into the chicken. Yuzu probably hadn't been available, but Urahara would have no problems sending Jinta to pick something up for Nel to bring back to her. Of course, that didn't explain why, exactly, she was here, where she guessed was Hueco Mundo, as opposed to the shop, or 4th Squad, or the Kurosaki clinic, but Nel was clearly informed on that too. "Karakura fell. It didn't go down easy, and the war's over, but the town is gone." The Arrancar sounded almost as sad as that news made Karin feel. Her childhood home, gone. Granted, all of her friends were long since gone; either dead, roaming the world, or some combination of the two like her.
The bad news just kept coming, too, apparently, because Nel took a deep breath before she continued. That was never a good sign. "And you were infected by one of the Hollowfication viruses the demon army was using. What were you thinking, Karin?"
Hollowfication.
That had been in the orientation packet. "It is illegal for a Shinigami to have or attempt to gain Hollow powers." Ichigo was, technically, not a member of the Gotei 13, and more importantly he was ridiculously powerful to the point where you could downright pity anyone who tried to kill him for being approximately 1/3 Hollow. Karin... Karin had to follow the laws of the Gotei. They'd kill her for this, if they could. If she went back, they'd try her and execute her, and Ichigo would tear down Soul Society around everyone's ears. Karin didn't want that, for two reasons. Firstly, she'd gotten somewhat attached. She didn't have any real close friends, but she'd found happiness in her work. Not that she could ever go back to that work, not officially, but still. Secondly...
Nihil supernum. Kaegetsu supplied in her mind. There was no doubt that if she went back now, she'd be the damsel in distress for someone else to rescue, and pardon her French but fuck that. She swallowed the fried chicken in her mouth and met Nel's eyes. "I'm going to need your help, then, Nel. I can't go back to the World of the Living until I know I can control my Hollow."
"That's right," the Arrancar said. "You don't have the advantage your brother did, either. I've talked to him, and I've talked to his Hollow. They're natural, they're two parts of the same whole. You've had a Hollow shoved into your soul. You know how much I hate violence, Karin, but there's just the one way to make sure you stay you. You're going to have to go in there," she nodded to the sword, "and make sure she knows you're in charge. And I'm going to have to stay out here and make sure you don't get yourself or someone else hurt or killed. I can give you ten minutes, guaranteed. I made sure we were in a remote enough part of Hueco Mundo that your reiatsu won't attract anything that can get this far out sooner than that. Past that, there's no telling what'll happen."
Karin sealed the plastic to-go container, setting it down on the ground and laying her sword across her lap. "Y'know, suddenly I'm not that hungry anymore." She forced a smile onto her face. She was scared. Scratch that, she was terrified, and Nel knew it if that little reassuring smile was anything to go by.
But there was no way in Hell she was just surrendering her soul to some upstart Hollow that had the misfortune to get turned into a fucking gas bomb.
"Let's get this over with, then."
- Masks:
- The world was dark. The moon was completely covered by clouds, and ice-cold drops of rain fell upon Karin's inner world as she flitted from rooftop to rooftop, Tensa Kaegetsu already fully released. The darkness pressed down upon her like a physical thing, but it didn't matter. She knew where to go. There was only one place that her Hollow would be; the center of her soul, the family home that housed some of her fondest memories. She came through the door, her sword appearing in her hand, and flipped the lights on to reveal her Inner Hollow.
"Well, hello, Karin," the woman before her said. She resembled Karin, somewhat, if Karin hadn't been so vehemently opposed to the trappings of femininity for her entire life; the Hollow appeared to be clothed in some kind of black dress, fishnets over the bodice exposing the hole through the exact center of her chest. She held a copy of the sword in Karin's hand, and her hat almost obscured her acidic yellow eyes with their black sclera. "So nice of you to join me. I was just about to try and take control of your body the hard way, but if you're here..." the Hollow trailed off, raising her sword lazily to point at Karin. "Well, I suppose it's easiest to just kill you here and then take over."
The Hollow was the strongest opponent Karin had faced yet; ruthless in its attacks, competent in its own defense, and able to use Kaegetsu's abilities fluidly. The battle didn't stay contained to her home for long, erupting in a blur of violence that crossed her inner world with the sounds of clashing steel, Shunpo, Sonido, and thunder. The storm intensified, footing becoming treacherous, visibility getting poorer and poorer. Both combatants used that to their advantage; Kido and Cero joined swordplay and Getsuga Tensho attacks, lighting the world for fractions of a second at a time. Swords turned aside swords at a blistering pace as the Hollow used its immense physical might to try and gain an advantage and Karin utilized her Bankai to counteract that advantage with tricks and traps and adaptability.
Eventually, though, Karin managed something reckless. She released her weapon and stepped forward, absorbing a vicious strike from the Hollow by getting inside the swing and taking the blade's Ricasso to her shoulder instead of having her arm sliced off. In exchange, she formed a new weapon with her Bankai, a humming knife of spiritual power pressing to the Hollow's throat and making it freeze. "Your name. And your surrender." The exhausted Shinigami demanded, eliciting an oily smile from the yellow-eyed creature in her soul.
"Persona. I yield, for now. But this isn't over," the Hollow, Persona, threatened. "I'll have your body for my own." It promised, grinning. "You can't kill me now. I'm part of you."
"Yeah, well, good for you. You can sit back and watch," Karin retorted, releasing Persona with a shove before she made to leave the inner world. "But there's no way you're gonna win. Nothing better than the original," she said with a wry smirk for her Zanpakuto spirit as he walked in the door, a smug look on his face.
Her partner could handle things from here. She needed to get back to Nel.
- Getting a Grip:
- Karin's mask cracked and flaked away into more bone-white sand, swiftly being absorbed into the featureless white desert of Hueco Mundo and replaced with another as Karin swiped her hand over her face. In front of her was a tree, of sorts; the Menos Forest's "trees" were only trees in the loosest sense of the word, empty and lifeless like the rest of this place seemed to be where Hollows hadn't carved out pockets of whatever type of civilization they desired. This particular tree had a hole gouged in it, not even partway through it.
"You need to master your Inner Hollow," Nel had told Karin, after a spar in which the Arrancar effortlessly handled the newly minted Vizard, shattering Karin's Hollow mask with the pommel of her Zanpakuto. "She's fighting you every step of the way. You need to practice with her power, figure out how to convince her to help, or figure out how to make do without her help."
That proved to be easier said than done. The Hollow was silent, Karin's grasp on her strength tenuous. Which led her down here to the Menos Forest; as a Shinigami with Bankai, she was more than a match for most of the forest's residents, and most of the rest wouldn't seek out a fight with her while she worked, not with her and Neliel's combined spiritual pressures on full display. Taking advantage of that fact, Nel had set Karin to firing Ceros as fast and as powerfully as she could manage. "Strength training," she'd said, "and something you absolutely cannot cheat on accidentally. Your Hollow is the only part of you with Cero, and that means that you need to master your Cero to figure out how to tap her power more easily."
Karin had taken to it with a vast amount of dedication, matched only by her utter lack of talent in the field. "You're overthinking things!" Nel called from the sidelines, making her scoff in frustration. "No, really!" The former Espada continued. "Hollows aren't naturally reserved, cautious. That's a learned trait. Everything we do is instinctive. Your body knows what to do, if you let it." She walks up behind Karin, raising Karin's arm with her own and pointing it at a tree. "Close your eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out. Look at your own soul, and find the Hollow part of it. Gather the Cero in your hand." The red and black sphere hummed into being, and Nel bit through the skin on her thumb. "Now, I'm only going to do this once. Make sure you pay close attention; I'm going to force you to use more of your Hollow's power."
A drop of blood mixed with the sphere, and the resultant Gran Rey Cero carved a swathe of destruction through the Menos Forest, consuming almost all of Karin's energy. As the Vizard slumped to the ground, her mask flaking away once more, there was a smile on her face. "I think I've got it, Nel," she said, just before blacking out in the Arrancar's arms.

The Onmitsukidō [Sub-division of Gotei]
https://www.platinumhearts.net/t17231-gotei-united-zero-division-included-accepts-vizard-ziamichi-hybrid-shinigami
The Onmitsukidō
"If your comrade is being defeated, you should see it as an opportunity. Rather than standing in the way, you should stab the enemy in the back. And if the enemy is so far above your level that you cannot even manage that... then you should let your comrade die. That is the way of the Onmitsukidō."
Who are the Onmitsukidō?: The Onmitsukidō are a sub-division located within the Gotei 13 focusing on three main areas of expertise: covert operations, assassination and special personnel. The Onmitsukido undergo a manner of different stealth based missions on behalf of the Gotei, not only handling assassinations and similar contracts, but handling "special" individuals who prove a threat to the Gotei. This means not normal situations, if someone is fighting and making issues that is typically the front line's duty. Rather, the Onmitsukido attempt to quell more unstable situations. Such as someone losing control of a power and needing to be swiftly killed or knocked out before they can react. For this reason they also handle highly important arrests.
While the 5th divison is heavily focused on stealth and can carry out similar missions, the Onmitsukido are a much more elite and deadly force which go where others shouldn't, or won't, go.
Where are They: Seireitei, they have a bunch of institutes linked with Gotei controlled locations on Earth and allied areas.
Why Join: Contribution of skills towards a noble cause. Learn to walk in shadow and kill as swiftly as possible. The Onmitsukido can provide a plethora of resources for aspiring Shinigami, Vizards and Ziamichi who wish to train themselves in the arts of assassination. If you wish for a serious environment, where the battleground is a tool to mask your presence and you use whatever means necessary to achieve victory, the Onmitsukido is for you.
You can also be a member of the Onmitsukido as well as other positions in the Gotei. As they are a sub division, many people have other responsibilities while remaining a member.
THE ONMITSUKIDO RESOURCES AND LOCATIONS
Land
Seireitei, 5th division HQ: Closely linked with the stealth forces of the Gotei, the Onmitsukido uses many of the 5th divisions quarter as a main base of operations. Among a group of buildings and built into the side of a waterfall, the Onmitsukido have their main base of operations within a cave like den constantly guarded with highly skilled assassins.
Allied territory:Outside of the Seireitei, the meeting points for Onmitsukido are within a bunch of allied territories. In places such as Karakura or Vastime, they have a bunch of hidden locations among forests and wildlife. Built into the sides of mountains, hidden underground within the dense forest of Karakura, typically only Onmitsukido members are capable of recognizing and knowing the locations. For one to find a headquarters, other than accidentally stumbling across one, is to solve and follow a set of riddles first given to members upon joining. The locations themselves are marked with a broken tanto knife piercing through the middle of the Onmitsukido logo.
Enemy territory: When Onmitsukido members are in enemy territory, there are no set locations in which they can meet. When a meeting is needed, a location is marked in each operatives scouting zone - an trail of Onmitsukido logos etched into the environment with arrows leading them around the city. Following these signs which are set out by operatives, members in enemy zones can quickly meet up and have makeshift headquarters wherever they need.
Available resources
Plethora of different weapons and technology available
Funding from Gotei
Aid from other divisions
Shinigami based equipment
Home: If you serve within the Onmitsukido, you are guaranteed a home away from home. If for any reason you find yourself out of a place to live, or simply wish to escape or live within your working quarters, all members are welcomed within any of the locations they have a base.
Level of Authority: All Onmitsukido are considered on a 'level of authority', even the lowest ranked members can act similarly to a police force in which they can enforce a law or perform certain tasks. When outranked they can have their authority challenged, but there is a level of trust and authority put into these members. Should someone abuse this, the leaders of the Onmitsukido are capable of revoking individuals of such authority - either suspending or removing them from the Onmitsukido all together.

THE SHINIGAMI TEMPLATE
The Demon of Rukongai
I. History
» History:
Childhood and Early Years:
Not having a name to go by for as long as he could remember, he eventually chose to take his surname from the district he once resided in, Zaraki, which was District 80 of the North Alley of Rukongai. District 80 was the worst, most lawless region of Rukongai, full of thieves and murderers (whereas area #1 was the most orderly and law-abiding). As a young boy living in the streets of the Rukongai, Zaraki, coming upon the dead body of a Shinigami, took his Asauchi, later imprinting his soul upon it to make his own Zanpakutō. During that time, he eventually became proficient in swordsmanship, and killed numerous opponents. Sometime during this, he, coming upon Yachiru Unohana, fought with her. The fight was the first time he felt fear, and subsequently the first fight he ever enjoyed, having been bored slashing anything else. He subconsciously sealed his power to allow them to fight longer and consequently lost to her. After their fight, he began to admire her, and wanted to fight like her.
Sometime later, as a young man, Zaraki, coming upon a young girl, named her Yachiru, in remembrance of the only person he ever admired, after she showed no fear of his sword. Yachiru came from District 79, Kusajishi, where her parents were murdered, seemingly not too long before Kenpachi arrived. On that day, he took on a name: Kenpachi, the title bestowed upon the strongest Shinigami in every generation, the one who has slain the most enemies and won the most battles.
Later, he had an encounter with Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa before they entered Seireitei. Yachiru warned Ikkaku messing with Kenpachi while he was in a good mood was a bad idea, though Ikkaku did not take the warning seriously. When Kenpachi and Ikkaku meet face to face, the latter immediately became alarmed by the former's Reiatsu, but was happy to finally have a real challenge. Kenpachi attacked with enough force to create a crater in the ground under Ikkaku, which somewhat alarmed Yumichika. Due to Kenpachi's strength, Ikkaku was forced on the defensive, holding off Kenpachi's relentless strikes. As the two continued to fight, Ikkaku tried to overwhelm Kenpachi, though he failed in doing so, only succeeding in increasing his own wounds while his opponent remaining untouched by his blade. While Kenpachi mentioned he was having fun, he decided to finish Ikkaku with one quick strike, resulting in his loss of the fight instantly.
Ikkaku became mad Kenpachi would just walk away without finishing him off. Kenpachi, plainly telling him he had no interest in weaklings who could not fight, noted he did not have any obligation to finish Ikkaku off. Ikkaku, thinking he was toying with him, demanded Kenpachi kill him. Kenpachi, losing his patience, grabbed hold of Ikkaku and asked why he was screaming for death if he loved to fight so much. Kenpachi explained to him a philosophy to follow for people like them: "Don't admit defeat and seek death. Die first, then admit defeat. When you lose, but don't die, it just means you were lucky. At those times, think only about survival. Survive, and think only about killing the guy who failed to kill you". Kenpachi, smiling at him, stated it was not like he went easy on him; he was just lucky to escape death. He said Ikkaku should live, come back, and try to kill him again. As Kenpachi went to leave, Ikkaku, asking him his name, is told he is Kenpachi from Zaraki.
Sometime later, Kenpachi killed Kenpachi Kiganjō, the captain of the 11th Division, in a single blow in front of over two hundred members of the Division. As per the 3rd Captain Qualification Trial, Kenpachi became the new captain of that division. By killing the 11th Division captain, he became the official and uncontested holder of the title, Kenpachi, as well as becoming the 11th person to hold the title. Importantly this was the first and only time in the history of the Gotei of someone becoming a Captain through this method, a feat which still strikes fear into the hearts of Kenpachi's enemies.
The following day, during Kenpachi's first addressing of his division, he was greeted by Ikkaku and Yumichika, who had already become Shinigami and joined the division. Ikkaku told Kenpachi he had come back just as he suggested, causing Kenpachi to smile. Later, they were present at the battle of the division against a caterpillar Hollow. While initially the division lost, Ikkaku showed up to fight it, but was stopped by Kenpachi, who decided to kill it himself. After the Hollow was dispatched, more came, prompting Ikkaku and Yumichika to join in the fight. Though at first he was against it, Kenpachi was persuaded upon realizing the two had similar fighting traits, and, as such, would like to fight by his side. After this, Kenpachi allowed them to participate in his fights.
Shortly after joining the Gotei 13 Kenpachi was forced by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto to learn Kendō because he had not learned any formal swordsmanship training, having bypassed those normally necessary qualifications due to the way he attained his position. Central 46 ordered Yamamoto to stop the training after one day, as they became concerned that if Zaraki realized his full potential and rebelled, he could become an unstoppable force. Kenpachi hated using formal martial arts because his battles would end too quickly with them, so he only used them if his own life was in danger or if it was the only way to defeat an enemy.
Agent of the Shinigami Arc:
Kenpachi and Gin Ichimaru both tease Byakuya Kuchiki about his sister Rukia Kuchiki being sentenced to death, saying he is depressed, as a noble family would not stand to have a criminal as a member. Byakuya, retaliating, says lower-class people do not understand the feelings of nobles. Kenpachi, admitting he does not really, says he is very bright, and since he is so bright, Byakuya should allow him to finish Rukia off before she is executed. When Byakuya states he did not know Kenpachi, at his level, could actually kill people, Kenpachi tells him to try him, and before the two can engage in combat, Gin, stopping Kenpachi, ties him up and drags him away.
Soul Society Arc:
After Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends arrive in Soul Society, Kenpachi tells Ichimaru a captain should have no problem killing a Ryoka. When Kenpachi asks Yamamoto where the Ryoka are heading, an invasion alarm goes off, and Kenpachi runs out of the captains' meeting.
He begins to hunt the strongest Ryoka, but his lieutenant, Yachiru Kusajishi, guides him in the wrong direction for some time. While he is lost, he, coming across the 4th Division's compound, finds and stops Mayuri from "interrogating" his 3rd Seated Officer, Ikkaku Madarame. Once Mayuri leaves, Ikkaku tells Kenpachi the Ryoka he fought is getting stronger, and is fully aware of the captain. Ikkaku tells an excited and curious Kenpachi that the Ryoka's name is Ichigo and what he looks like.
After a while, Kenpachi, having figured out where Ichigo is heading, waits there for him to arrive. While Ichigo, Ganju Shiba, and Hanatarō Yamada run through the Seireitei, they feel Kenpachi's tremendous Reiatsu. As he tries to discern who among the three is the strongest, he finally realizes it is Ichigo. Introducing himself, he tells Ichigo he has come to kill him. As the others, trying get away from his strong Reiatsu, cannot get far, Kenpachi confronts Ichigo. Kenpachi is determined to fight Ichigo no matter what the issue may be, showing himself to be unconcerned with his friends or Rukia's fate. Kenpachi, seeing Ichigo's battle stance, compliments him on it, though noting it has openings, and admits he likes his spiritual pressure. Kenpachi, acknowledging he understands why Ikkaku lost to him, notes Ichigo is still weaker than him, so he decides to give Ichigo a fighting chance. Kenpachi, baring his chest, tells Ichigo to cut him anywhere and not hold back. When Ichigo refuses to attack an unarmed opponent, Kenpachi, while commending him, states it is simply a handicap, and while he appreciates the thought, Ichigo should save his sympathy for someone else. Kenpachi tells him to either kill or be killed.
Ichigo, attacking Kenpachi's exposed chest, causes no injury, much to his confusion. Kenpachi, disappointed, begins to unsheathe his Zanpakutō, and, telling Ichigo it is his turn, asks him to not die too quickly. When Ichigo's hand starts to bleed, Kenpachi, asking him why he is surprised his sword cannot cut him, pushes Ichigo back, using his arm against his blade. Kenpachi, explaining why Ichigo's sword cannot scratch him, takes out his own sword and tells Ichigo he should try, at the very least, to place a dent upon his sword. Ichigo, trying to run away from Kenpachi, cannot seem to shake him, and ends up running into him at every turn. Eventually, Kenpachi, growing bored of chasing after him, sits down. When Ichigo confronts him, he, finally seeming happy, asks if Ichigo is preparing to die or if he is surrendering. Ichigo refuses to do either and, attacking, finally succeeds in injuring Kenpachi. Kenpachi, extremely excited Ichigo can actually injure him, telling Ichigo to keep his spiritual pressure up and not relax, attacks Ichigo.
The two clash and the battle continues, with Kenpachi, while having the upper hand, happy to see Ichigo improving. When Kenpachi comments on how Ichigo is using the sounds of his bells to determine his position, Ichigo asks if he is underestimating him, as he has not released his Zanpakutō. Kenpachi explains his Zanpakutō has no name and, having never had a seal on it, is currently in its true form. As Ichigo, relieved to hear this, attacks once more, Kenpachi, stopping him, further explains his Zanpakutō's state. He, thrusting his Zanpakutō through Ichigo's, breaking right through it, stabs Ichigo in the chest. Kenpachi tells Ichigo he warned him not to relax his spiritual pressure, and it has become weak because he saw a chance to win. He, frustrated the battle was so easy and is now over, retracts his sword. Eventually, much to Kenpachi's surprise, Ichigo gets up, accompanied by a large burst of spiritual pressure. Ichigo, attacking Kenpachi, surprising him further, deals him a serious injury to the left side from his shoulder down the side of his torso. Kenpachi, deflecting Ichigo's next attack, stabs his sword into a nearby building. Kenpachi, beginning to laugh, becoming extremely excited, says now the fight is just getting started, noting they should drag out the fight. He, lunging at Ichigo, lets his face get cut by the blade just to get close to Ichigo. As the battle escalates even more, Kenpachi, despite his injuries, continues to fight, teaching Ichigo the drive behind his personality.
Kenpachi, realizing both he and Ichigo are evenly matched, enjoying the feeling and euphoria of the moment, takes off his eyepatch, noting he considers Ichigo a worthy opponent, so it only makes sense to fight him at full power. Kenpachi's spiritual power skyrockets as he removes his eyepatch, prompting Ichigo to wonder what is going on. Kenpachi, explaining to him what the eyepatch does, takes out his Zanpakutō and, cutting a nearby building in half with a single slash, tells Ichigo he will use all his power to kill him. When Ichigo, increasing his power, greatly impresses Kenpachi, Ichigo, explaining he can do so by borrowing Zangetsu's power and fighting side by side with him, states he will never lose to someone like him, who only fights by himself. Kenpachi asks if Zangetsu is Ichigo's Zanpakutō, fighting side by side with it and borrowing its power, as he finds it ridiculous. He believes Zanpakutō are just tools of war, and fighting side by side with one are words for weak losers who are afraid to fight on their own. They, both releasing their spiritual pressure, run at each other to make a final strike, releasing enough spiritual pressure to collapse all the buildings around them. The battle ends in a draw, with Ichigo falling first apologizing to his friends as Kenpachi looks down on him. With blood shooting out his shoulder, Kenpachi questions Ichigo's apology, calling him stupid as he gives him the victory of the fight before falling down shortly after. As Yachiru calls for Retsu Unohana to heal Kenpachi, Kenpachi tells Yachiru he lost, but needs to pay him back. He, raising his sword, acknowledges he ignored it for a long time and wants it to communicate with it. Kenpachi, not hearing it speak, faints, which scares Yachiru.
During Kenpachi's recovery in his quarters, Yachiru and Makizō Aramaki bring back Orihime Inoue, and he tells her he will help her find Ichigo. Much later on, Orihime guides Kenpachi, Yachiru, Ikkaku, Yumichika Ayasegawa, and Makizō to Ichigo, and finds Yasutora Sado, Uryū Ishida, and Ganju Shiba on the way, freeing them in the process. As they continue to search for Ichigo, Kenpachi realizes they are being followed, and Captains Kaname Tōsen and Sajin Komamura, as well as their respective Lieutenants Shūhei Hisagi and Tetsuzaemon Iba, confront them. Kenpachi tells his subordinates to go ahead without him, but Ikkaku and Yumichika stay behind, eager to fight as well. Though reluctant, Kenpachi accepts their help, and they fight against Hisagi and Tetsuzaemon elsewhere. Kenpachi, battling Captain Komamura and Captain Tōsen, easily fends them off, leading him to goad them into releasing their Bankai. Although Komamura is reluctant to do so, Tōsen obliges, revealing he always had an uneasy feeling about Kenpachi since he became a captain.
When Tōsen releases his Bankai, Kenpachi learns he cannot see, hear, and sense spirit energy. However, he fights off Tōsen with the sense of touch, as he can feel when the blade makes contact with his body. However, Kenpachi, becoming frustrated with this style of fighting, lets Tōsen impale him with his sword. Kenpachi, grabbing hold of Suzumushi's hilt, figures out only by grabbing Suzumushi can he see and hear Tōsen. Before Tōsen can attack him, Kenpachi, grabbing Suzumushi once more, gravely wounds Tōsen, which dispels his Bankai.
As Tōsen tries to retaliate, Komamura blocks a slash from Kenpachi, which shatters his helmet. Kenpachi, revealing he never cared what Komamura looked like (though he was curious), proceeds to fight against him once he releases his Bankai. However, the battle doesn't last long; Komamura, sensing Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto fighting, abandons his fight with Kenpachi. Later, Yumichika tells Kenpachi the result of his battle. Kenpachi, in turn, tells him Komamura ran off. Kenpachi, surprised to see Yumichika with no signs of injury after fighting against Hisagi, begins to question him, but, much to his annoyance, Yumichika begins to talk about beauty. While they do receive Isane Kotetsu's message about Aizen's betrayal, they do not accompany the other captains to Sōkyoku Hill.
A week after the incident with Aizen, Kenpachi finds Ichigo training with Ikkaku on his division's grounds. Seeing his wounds healed completely, Kenpachi tries to fight him again, but Ichigo runs off, and Kenpachi cannot find him. He does not see Ichigo and his friends when they leave Soul Society, telling Yachiru he and Ichigo will certainly meet again because they are the only ones who are what they seem to be.
Arrancar Arc:
When Yamamoto calls him and the other captains for an emergency meeting, Kenpachi complains. Kenpachi appears to Ichigo as his instinct and desire to win, explaining to him they are both the type of people who lived to fight battle after battle. After Orihime is taken to Hueco Mundo, Kenpachi arrives with Byakuya Kuchiki to retrieve Hitsugaya's group and bring them back to Soul Society.
Hueco Mundo Arc:
Kenpachi arrives, alongside Captains Byakuya Kuchiki, Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and Retsu Unohana, in Las Noches after the battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. Kenpachi comes to Ichigo's aid as he blocks an attack by the Arrancar Tesra Lindocruz. As the Arrancar tries to attack again, Kenpachi deals a fatal slash wound down his chest. Finished with Tesra, Kenpachi looks to Nnoitra Gilga to be his next opponent. When Ichigo asks what Kenpachi is doing in Hueco Mundo, he responds by kicking Ichigo, stating he is in the way of the field of battle. Kenpachi reveals Kisuke Urahara was asked by Captain-Commander Yamamoto to send them to Hueco Mundo in preparation for the upcoming battle in Karakura Town. Nnoitra, finally deciding to attack, is blocked, though still impressing Kenpachi with his strike. When Nnoitra asks Kenpachi his name, both men give their name and rank.
As the two opponents continue to fight, Kenpachi, getting close to dealing a fatal blow to Nnoitra, cannot cut through the Espada's skin with his sword. Nnoitra, cutting Kenpachi on his left shoulder, laughs, telling him his Hierro is unsurpassed by any current and former Espada. He tells Kenpachi his blade will never cut him. Kenpachi, undeterred, continues to fight Nnoitra with even more ferocity, much to the Espada's surprise. After Nnoitra dodges an attack, Kenpachi deduces it must have been dangerous for him to dodge it. Dismissing it as a reflex, Nnoitra continues the battle until Kenpachi, saying he has never met an opponent whose eyes and neck cannot be cut, stabs Nnoitra in the eye hidden by his eyepatch. However, Nnoitra, unaffected, reveals the remains of his Hollow mask and hole hidden under his eye patch. The Espada, moving closer, stabs Kenpachi in the chest. After the two argue over Nnoitra's inability to be cut, Kenpachi keeps trying to slice up his opponent. Eventually, Kenpachi cuts Nnoitra, and, fighting fiercer than before, cuts him again, this time cutting off a part of Nnoitra's Zanpakutō. Kenpachi states he has finally gotten use to the strength of Nnoitra's Hierro. The battle carries on until Kenpachi's eye patch is knocked off.
After Kenpachi explains the nature of his eye patch, Nnoitra, in a rage, releases. When Nnoitra asks how it feels to see an Espada release their Zanpakutō for the first time, all he gets in response to his question is a smile from Kenpachi, who tells him he has nice Reiatsu, and it is like the Reiatsu itself is sharpening his blade. Kenpachi, wasting no time, goes on the offensive, but he, surprised when his attacks are blocked, is dealt a grievous wound across his chest. Nnoitra sends Kenpachi flying away from him as he mocks him. Noticing there is no movement from an unresponsive Kenpachi, Nnoitra sets his sights on Yachiru, but Kenpachi, recovering, cuts off one of his arms. When Nnoitra comments on Kenpachi playing dead, Kenpachi says since Nnoitra will just block his attacks with his many arms, he just has to cut them off. However, Nnoitra, mocking Kenpachi, regenerates his arm. Kenpachi, grabbing Nnoitra, slams him into the ground, prompting Nnoitra, reveal his two hidden arms, to stab Kenpachi in the chest.
Nnoitra, generating two more scythe weapons, tells Kenpachi it is over. However, Kenpachi, laughing hysterically, keeps fighting, only to be injured several times. He reluctantly decides to use Kendō, though he admits it has been quite some time since he has used it. When Nnoitra becomes confused, Kenpachi reveals the Captain-Commander made him learn it when he first joined the Gotei 13, but he never liked it. When he asks Nnoitra if he knows a sword is far more powerful when you use two hands instead of one, Nnoitra, becoming bored with the conversation, charges at Kenpachi, who, gripping his sword with both hands, swings it down. Kenpachi lands a very powerful blow, dealing Nnoitra a lethal wound to his chest, severing a few of his limbs, and almost cutting him in half. Surprised the Espada is still alive, he turns to walk away. When Nnoitra yells at him, asking where he is going as the fight is not over, Kenpachi explains he does not know what he is talking about, as the blow finished him and he is not about to be bothered with finishing someone off who cannot fight back. Undeterred, Nnoitra, getting up, tells him the fight is not over, taunting him to come back and continue fighting. As Nnoitra moves to attack him, Kenpachi, giving in, lands another blow to his chest, and Nnoitra falls to the ground. Kenpachi, standing over Nnoitra's corpse, victorious, thanks him for the good fight.
Kenpachi, asking Ichigo what he is, reminds him he, as a Substitute Shinigami, must protect Karakura Town. He tells Ichigo to take Orihime and return, as he is no longer needed in Hueco Mundo. He, telling Ichigo to get his sword, yells for Orihime to come over and heal him. However, Coyote Starrk, arriving, recaptures her, narrowly avoiding both Kenpachi's and Ichigo's attack in the process. When Ichigo hears from Aizen he plans to destroy Karakura Town, he proceeds to run off. Kenpachi, telling him not to be so hasty, reveals everything is planned, and Urahara not only sent the captains to Hueco Mundo, but made it possible to wage war in Karakura Town. When Ichigo notices Ulquiorra near Orihime, he, reminding Kenpachi of their earlier conversation, informs him he is wrong. Telling Kenpachi his job is not to protect Karakura Town, but instead to protect his friends, Ichigo takes off, leaving Kenpachi behind.
Fake Karakura Town Arc:
Later, Kenpachi, alongside Byakuya Kuchiki, arrives at the battle between Yammy Llargo and Ichigo. After Byakuya attacks Yammy with Sōkatsui, Kenpachi cuts off one of Yammy's legs, making him fall over. He, berating Byakuya for "stealing" the first blow, tells him to get away from the battle area. Byakuya, calmly calling his statement nonsense, since he was the first to arrive, states Kenpachi should learn his place. Kenpachi, ignoring Byakuya, tells him not to complain if he get sliced into pieces alongside Yammy.
As Kenpachi tells Ichigo he is a disgrace, as he seems to get "beat to hell" everywhere they go, he tells him to move out of the way. When Ichigo, confused, stares at him, Kenpachi goes to strike at him, but Ichigo, dodging, screams at him, saying he could have killed him. As Kenpachi charges at Ichigo, he, slapped away by Yammy, is sent flying into a nearby structure. As Yammy rants and raves, Kenpachi kicks a large piece of rock at him, but the Espada crushes it to rubble before it can make contact. Kenpachi, stating he is surprised Yammy can throw a decent punch when he wants to, as he barely felt it when he hit him, tells Yammy even though he must think he is a big fly, if he is going to punch him, he better put some effort into it. Yammy, enraged, attacks Kenpachi.
As Yammy tries to punch him, Kenpachi cuts off three of his fingers. Yammy, screaming in pain, holding his injured hand, notices Kenpachi on his arm, which he runs up to strike at his head. Kenpachi cuts off another of Yammy's legs, causing the Espada to fall down. Kenpachi, admitting he is a tough one, is disappointed as Yammy lies unconscious, prompting him to call Byakuya to finish the Espada off. When Byakuya asks him what he is talking about, Kenpachi states he figures Byakuya must be bored standing around, so he figures he would at least allow him to finish the Espada off. When Byakuya, deducing Kenpachi expects him to clean up his mess, asks who he thinks he is talking to, Kenpachi states he does not like to kill weaklings. When Byakuya states he will not, as a savage like him is better suited to the task, Kenpachi takes offense, but before he can do anything about it, Yammy, making his presence known by confirming he is not down for the count yet, slams his large hand down in between the two. The two captains look up at Yammy as he prepares to fire a Cero at them. As the large blast is fired, they both dodge the attack, prompting Byakuya to state he cannot believe Kenpachi thought he could finish off the Espada the way he did, pitying his poor judgment. Kenpachi, brushing the comment off, states to him, Yammy is ready to be finished off, but the Espada is obviously too much for Byakuya. Byakuya, releasing his Bankai, tells Kenpachi if Yammy is not too much for him, he should prove it. Kenpachi, liking this idea, states he has always wanted to compete against Byakuya. As the two captains move toward each other, they turn toward Yammy, stating he is in the way, and lash out, hitting the Espada in his face.
Yammy's huge form is knocked off balance by the powerful attack from the two captains, but he, surviving, gets back up, injured and infuriated. Kenpachi states he is surprised Yammy survived, believing he has lost his mind. As the Cero Espada becomes frustrated with the two captains, his Resurrección changes form. After transforming, he warns the captains making him angrier is the last thing they want to do, since his release, Ira, increases in strength the angrier he becomes. He, taunting Byakuya and Kenpachi, says if they make him even angrier, he will make sure their deaths are humiliating and painful.
Later, after defeating Yammy, Kenpachi is accompanied by Byakuya as they exit a Garganta. He is greeted by a few of the 11th Division. The 4th Division, immediately responding to their arrival, note while both are standing, they are horribly injured. When asked by his men how the battle was, Kenpachi states it was boring. After having his injuries treated, Kenpachi, along with Byakuya and Shunsui, is called to meet with Yamamoto, who scolds them for losing their captain haori. When each of them are indifferent to the matter, Kenpachi saying his was a bother, Yamamoto grows even angrier.
Post-Canon Arc:
Zaraki, like most of his Gotei comrades, participated in the Ender War and World War 3, their contributions helping to protect Soul Society and Earth from total devastation. For four hundred years he has continued to search for powerful enemies to battle, occasionally meeting individuals whom could be called worthy adversaries. Much of his time spent over the time between World War 3 and modern day consisted of two basic things: Fighting, and being lost. Unfortunately without the simple structure of Seireitei and the Gotei to keep him somewhat on track, Zaraki fell prey to his directional inability. While as an individual he didn't progress much during this time, the multitude of fights and challenges he partook in kept his bloodthirsty cravings at bay for a while.
Eventually though, Zaraki retook his position as Eleventh Division Captain of the Gotei Thirteen. One of the most impactful situations he took part in as Captain during this time was the battle and execution of one Aramand Armageddus, Vice Captain of the Tenth Division. Apparently as part of a challenge issued by the latter, the two battled within the confines of the Eleventh Division barracks. While the fight went back and forth a bit, albeit with Zaraki always in the driver's seat, Aramand quickly took it upon himself to foolishly cause as much collateral damage as possible. Due to this, and due to his own misjudging of his strength, Zaraki Kenpachi cut the man in half from shoulder to hip remorselessly, instantly killing the arrogant challenger. Afterwards, he intelligently dealt with his fallen foe's large energy attack by having his eye patch eat it, saving the surrounding areas from untimely destruction. Interestingly, he received basically no backlash from his peers for executing a Vice Captain due to the man's arrogant and reckless actions in their fight.
During the Demon Incursion arc, Zaraki Kenpachi fought off Nozomi Sumashou for a short time and inflicted worthwhile injuries to the woman. However before things could get really interesting, an explosion resulted in Zaraki ending up far away from the conflict. By the time he reached the battleground, the situation was already over and he was left frustrated and annoyed at how things turned out.
Eventually, after leaving the Gotei Thirteen again, Zaraki met and battled a man named Li Qiang who claimed he was a member of Sugiuran Royalty. Apparently as a test of his strength, the man challenged Zaraki to a one versus one duel in Rukongai. This fight was, at first, entertaining for both warriors. Li Qiang seemed impressed by what Soul Society offered, while Zaraki used it as a fun warm up to get the rust off. Eventually though as the latter used more and more of his strength, the duel began petering out due to the difference in power. While the Sugiura King got a few good licks in, Zaraki overwhelmed the man and cut him down. However, this moment didn't end pitifully. No, it ended on a positive note. Zaraki told the man to focus up and get stronger, and when he does he can come back and the two can clash again. Meanwhile his opponent unlocked a power sealed deep within him, resulting in a satisfactory conclusion for them both.
Most recently, Zaraki Kenpachi found himself in the city of Orange Walk Town in Belize, Central America. This was due to him joining forces with his Gotei comrades and assaulting the Monsuta as they tried to connect their Mexican and South American territories. After clearing through the Monsuta soldiers like a hot knife through butter, Zaraki came into conflict with a commander named Tetsuya Tachibana. This fight, more than any other in recent memory, provided plenty of entertainment and fun for Kenpachi. He finally met an opponent both powerful and dedicated enough to challenge him. During this fight both warriors tested their limits. With his eye patch still on, Zaraki fought the Monsuta commander using both his Shikai and Hollow powers. While the two went back and forth for a while, eventually the Vizard revealed his Bankai and Zaraki removed his eye patch. However, the latter was merely an accident. The removal of the eye patch eliminated the enjoyment for Zaraki, who immediately overpowered his foe's Bankai and sought to end the battle, which occurred a few moments later.
I. Role Play Sample
» Roleplay Sample:
Chunks of wood and stone coated the enormous body of a man sticking halfway through a house's wall, a family of three looking in his direction with shock plastered across their faces. Though emergency alerts had been ringing all throughout Soul Society at this point, these people certainly didn't expect a man more infamous than even the Gotei's enemies to come crashing through their home. The grating sinister voice mumbling obscenities from within a cloud of dust made it easy to identify him as the one and only Zaraki Kenpachi, an ex-Captain usually described as killing intent personified. From his perspective the reason why he was here, over a kilometer away from the action, was he'd made a mistake. By leaving himself open he'd allowed himself to be sent flying by his opponent. Zaraki didn't care so much about having made the mistake, he was just annoyed by what it had resulted in.
Two opposing thoughts were currently running through his mind: First, he was excited by his enemy's incredible power; Second, his opponent was a bitch for removing him from the fight. Damn I was really starting to have fun. For a second he just stared up at the sky, temporarily lamenting the fact his battle had been cut short. This moment too was interrupted as the man of the household he'd crashed into began speaking before immediately being cut off by the legendary Shinigami, who began looking around and apparently ignoring the words which escaped nervously from his lips. Following this he stood up and hopped through the hole in a wall his collision had created, not bothering to dust himself off. Strangely enough despite the very clear trajectory through buildings he'd taken to get here, Zaraki ran off in the opposite direction.
For almost twenty minutes Zaraki ran in a straight line from his landing position, almost entirely opposite from where he wanted to go. His route led him even farther away from his fight, a reality still unknown to the eyepatch-wearing Shinigami. It wasn't until another Gotei member ran by him going in a different direction did Zaraki reassess the path he'd chosen to take. "Are you running away?!" Taken by surprise the lower seated man turned and responded with fear in his voice. "Oh! S-sir! No sir, I'm going to help fight off the demons attacking this way!" Zaraki ran ahead of the soldier, not waiting for him to keep up. By this point the fighting had already been going on for quite some time so any minute wasted was time that could be spent looking for a worthy enemy to kill. The incredible strength of Zaraki's legs kept him moving extremely quickly through the Rukongai's streets as nearby civilians breathed sighs of relief in knowing he was in the fight.
With a better idea of where to go he didn't let anything slow him down, including random demon soldiers rampaging throughout the districts of Seireitei's outskirts. Not even bothering to look twice at the various attackers Zaraki would cut through them like a hot knife through butter, carving a bloody path to get to stronger enemies. Even the commander and elite demons leading entire platoons of soldiers didn't stand a chance against the beast of Soul Society, barely registering on his radar before being slaughtered where they stood. Upon meeting a particularly large group of demon warriors, who had gathered to hunt down Shinigami, Zaraki shouted out as he tore through the rows of enemies. "Out of my way!" A single downward swing of his cracked and chipped Zanpakuto brought ruin to the entire regiment of invaders, the force of his attack so high gusts of wind sent any remaining foes flying through the sky before falling to their death.
Wanting a better vantage point as he ran Zaraki pushed off the ground and leapt close to twenty meters into the air before resuming his sprint atop the roofs of buildings. From here Zaraki could see destruction wrought by the invaders in every direction, though there was a distinct lack of combatants around him. For just a second Zaraki was annoyed by the potentiality of battle already winding down, the worst possible scenario for a man who's only real wish was fighting powerful warriors and reveling in glorious bloodstained battle. By the time he reached the largest nearby battlefield the only people standing were Fourth Division healers running to and fro trying to find and help as many survivors as possible. Somehow in a direct invasion into Soul Society, he was the only one unscathed. This well and truly pissed Zaraki off. A few seconds later the emergency alert sounds died down, indicating all serious fighting was over and all that was left was mopping up the random fodder still in Soul Society, a directive Zaraki was keen on ignoring. "Tsk. Didn't even get to see what she could do." Figuring he couldn't help out with the after effects of the invasion, and more importantly not wanting to, Zaraki spent the next hour and a half trying to find his way back to the old Eleventh Division barracks to take his afternoon nap. Battle had come and gone, leaving Zaraki Kenpachi feeling nothing but disappointment. Next time things would be different.

» Item Name: GFR: Giant Fucking Robot {Working Name}
» Item Type: It's a fucking giant robot!
» Used For: Arming the Russian Forces and people.
» Item Description:
This robot is a model that is capable of many things; whether it be utilized in the battle field or on a farm it is equally valuable. By making this mech module it allows for it to utilize a plethora of options; the easy to use railings allow for the quick attachment of gatling guns, or rocket launchers, as well as ploughs or any other sort of equipment. The best part of these rails is the fact that it allows for nearly everything to be equipped to the bot. After a module is equipped to the bot it is able to integrate the machinery into the its systems. By doing this it is registered as a peripheral to the machines basic OS.
In the farms it allows for the quicker harvesting, planting and maintenance of the crops; this will increase the annual yield of crops, though by what percentage remains unknown. In the mines it is no longer necessary to worry about oxygen supplies as the mech has a twenty four hour built in oxygen tank; this, however, is much like a scubas tank; this means that the air can go bad if it has been sitting out for too long. In addition to this it increases the amount of ores that may be gathered in a single mining session.

MOTHER OF ALL NUCLEAR DEVICES
» Item Name: Mother of all Nuclear Devices
» Item Type: It's a fucking giant Nuclear device.
» Used For: Blowing shit up.
» Item Description:
This is something that is rather straightforward. It is a more advanced intercontinental ballistic missile. It is by utilizing the huge advances in technology, as well as the introduction of supernatural powers, the Russian forces have been able to create a missile which is approximately 1.5 times more powerful than a Nuclear Missile; it has a 750 megaton payload. Don't ask, Vlad simply doesn't understand how this happened. In addition to this they were able to equip some sort of device which is capable of forming a shield that will contain the fallout to said area. This shield can only reach out with a radius of 250 miles; anything larger than this will not work. This shield utilizes the Reiryoku that every shinigami releases and is able to form a physical barrier from this.
This device is something which is actually quite simple to comprehend. By channeling the Reiryoku into a very condensed ball it is possible to create a layer that is so thick that beings are not able to pass through. what allows this to happen is the fact that there have been shinigami on the planet for so many years releasing this reiryoku that it has accumulated to unbelievable heights. Being on this planet, yet never being tapped as a resource, it has simply amassed. The device in question is a round disk that will eject from the missile upon reaching three miles of the target; from here it will rapidly consume the surrounding reiryoku and project it downwards into a dome. This dome is continually supplied with Reiryoku from the surrounding area.

It's only three missiles, though they can be created whenever necessary. To create them, however, requires a thread.
Only one can be dropped per thread~

Post #1: Added three abilities( to Oromis's app, specifically Aether Arma stuff. 190 Words.
- Spoiler:
- Amplification: Simple and to the point this ability does precisely what its name suggests. Amplifies. Currently this ability simply amplifies any healing techniques utilized by Oromis, although it could be developed further to amplify Oromis's other abilities, and even the abilities of other beings.
Conduit: Conduit can be considered one of the basic abilities possessed by Oromis's armament, Sentinel of Helios. While considered basic Conduit should not be an ability dis-valued by others as it grants Oromis the ability to utilize his abilities, techniques, and known aether magic through the Sentinel. The one flaw of this ability is that Sentinel of Helios must be within a 400m range of Oromis's person.
Luminous: Another simple ability Luminous is one in which the Sentinel emits a tremendous amount of intense light. Through this intense light the ability is capable of stunning & temporarily blinding foes, although in close quarters the immense light could(if exposed to unprotected, open eyes) cause near permanent, or even permanent blindness. A secondary effect of the intense light given off by the Sentinel when Luminous is used is that any shadows or darkness within a 100m area are completely eliminated.

Post #2: May 8th; Added residence & frequent locations to Oromis's app. 139 words
- Spoiler:
- Residence & Frequent Locations: Oromis's primary residence can be found within the very nation in which he was born, The Angel Society. This is primarily because of his age, and continuing development. Oromis, taking the advice of those who came before him, has opted to stay and continue to grow with the aid of the pure sources of Aether within the nation. A secondary home to Oromis is the small house he had bought within Salome Square, although he frequents it quite a bit less than his home in the Angel Society.
Along with his places of residence Oromis also frequents the other nations of the Iramasha realm, wishing to learn about all Iramasha, and not just the Angel sub-race. When not within the Iramasha realm Oromis can occasionally be found wondering about Earth or Soul Society.
Post #3: May 10th: Added physical appearance(written) to Oromis's app. 238 Words
- Spoiler:
- While quite young, by both Iramasha and Human standards, Oromis appears to be much older. This is because of his own decision throughout his life, to facilitate his bodies growth throughout his early years via his Aether resulting in normal human aging(physically). Standing at a height of 5'11" and weighing roughly 170 pounds Oromis possesses the physique of a fit, young man. Despite a lack of dedicated physical training on his part Oromis has maintained a noticeable muscle tone, hinting at a potential future in physical activities or combat.
Continuing on from Oromis's physique and into the details one would notice that the Iramasha bears an odd, if he were human, eye color. Said color would be a pale red, similar to the shade of red paint after drying. Next, if it hadn't caught their eye first, one would notice the young males hair. The envy of many young women in the human realm Oromis's lustrous hair appears tangle free, in perfect health, and well kept. The silver locks of the young male fall to a point just above his tailbone, and usually is tied into a single ponytail.
Finally comes clothing, while possessing many outfits Oromis generally is seen in a black turtle neck, tight pants, formal shoes, and a grey collared jacket. When not in the aforementioned out fit Oromis is often dressed in a more casual getup, black jeans, jacket, shoes, and a dark-grey shirt.

A Veteran's Call
Yoma was confused when he heard the man speak his name, immediately he grew curious if he had met them before but was drawing a blank. Who was he and how did he know his name. Was this man aware of yoma’s current situation with his comment of returning or did he mean something else. The man stated they wouldn’t explain how he knew his name and began explaining to him kido and hoho, Telling him how they are the basic of basic for shinigami. He knew the man was holding back his strength in order to teach yoma. Yoma knew he had to take a moment to focus and Synchronize with his other self. Clearing his mind and focusing on his breathing the two became as one. Yoma was now ready to begin his training. It has seemed the main had an assistant helping him and set up a number of test dummies and placing markings to use as training area. Yoma knew he was going to need to be careful. He didn’t want to destroy this area full of beauty.Yoma listened to what this man had told him, focusing on the words to make sure he could do everything well. The explanation for the Kido was simple enough to follow. Focus his energy to his finger and just say the name of the Kido as he pointed towards the dummy. Yet, the explanation to hoho was somewhat more difficult and confusing.for yoma. Try taking a step and move as swiftly as possible simultaneously. Yoma though this would be impossible for him. Before starting as he watched the man take out a pipe and sit down to watch. Yoma knew he had to ask him something before starting.
“You know us, but we don’t know you, who are you? Why are helping us? This is just strange and confusing and strange. You said that skills and techniques we use as shinigami do not define us. I want to know what you mean by that. Doesn’t our roots affect us?”
He wasn’t sure what response he was going to get or if he was going to respond at all. Yoma began first with the kido practice.
“Hadō #1 Sho”
His mind was too focused on the damage he would cause to the area that his first attempt he readied at the dummy did nothing. He sighed and focused once more.
“Hadō #1 Sho”
Again nothing. He knew he would have to apply more energy and pressure to get this right. He focused less on his location and more on releasing his strength. Gathering the energy in his finger once more. Yoma targeted the dummy.
“Hadō #1 Sho”
This time the power was too much and caused a minor explosion knocking yoma back. This happened again as yoma repeated his actions. He focused on the energy and what he wanted to do. He relaxed himself and got ready to get it right this time. He knew he could do it. His body felt as he had done this hundreds of times. It was as if his body was remembering something he could it and yoma shouted once again.
“Hadō #1 Sho”
This time he was able to knock down the target dummy. He started feeling a bit tired already and this was strange to him. He didn’t understand why but he got ready to attempt to practice Hoho. As he did he immediately fell over. It felt difficult and he was gathering the energy to his feet to attempt it once more. He pushed himself forward, nothing it was just like an ordinary sprint. What could he be doing wrong?

THE INSANE RAVEN
ENTER HENREX ASTILLON
EQUIPMENT/OTHER RESOURCES
PhantomTech: Henrex does have a PhantomTech brain, installed shortly after becoming a Shinigami, which is currently installed in both of his eyes, allowing him to see a special interface which shows the date, time, location, and an advanced-looking UI of what he is currently scanning. When he falls asleep, his Cyberbrain turns itself off, as when he wakes up, it turns on. He can also simply say a mental command to turn it off and on.
Phantom Tech Abilities:
Night Vision: Due to Henrex being able to manipulate darkness, made a module in his PhantomTech which allows him to see through darkness, giving him a big advantage with his Zanpakutō and certain combat situations. The occurs by using his spiritual energy to enhance his eyesight's weak areas, and it acts like a thermal sight on a gun, with not only lets him see people in the dark, but also their heat signature. The heat signature view is able to be toggled on and off.
Shadow Camouflage: Henrex can use a type of special addon that allows Henrex to blend in with the shadows, almost becoming the shadows itself. His Cyberbrain does this by bending the light around him and reflecting it, making him seem completely invisible.
Heat Sensor (Cyberbrain Add-on): There's a phrase that Henrex heard once. You can't hide from the Eagle Eye. What does this mean exactly? This means if Henrex can't see you....perhaps his Heat Sensor will. This is exactly what the name entails. It sends out three individual pulses of energy from Henrex's Cyberbrain, which scans and locates all heat signatures in the area. Granted, the pulses has a limit of 40 yards, but it is very useful for tracking someone down in close range who is hiding. Each pulse is released on it's own, and each one is released with one pulse per post. One three pulses have been released, the Heat Sensor will go on cooldown. This will have a three to five post cooldown. The pulses that release will scan and highlight the heat signatures in the 40 yard radius for a single post, then they would begin to fade.
Emotion Inhibitor (Cyberbrain Add-on): This custom order, would, as the name entails, inhibit Henrex's emotions. However, this would only be in use whenever his emotions are wild and out of control. This device would send a single dose of Xinstrax. This is a anti-depressant that has been known to ease extreme emotion. This dose is strong enough to calm Henrex down when either his emotions are out of control, or when he loses control of the Demon Blood within him, which is whenever his anger or his bloodlust becomes immense. This would activate automatically upon these requirements met. However, if the device bugs, it could inject a larger amount of it, causing Henrex to be rendered emotionless for a few hours, and if any larger of a dose were to be delivered, it could knock Henrex out or possibly kill him.
Phantom Tech Powers:
Extreme Processing Speed: Henrex’s Cyberbrain is capable of extreme high processing, making him able to asses a situation quickly and more efficiently. He also is able to scan people, certain objects, and equipment, registering them into his database. He does this by locking onto a target and scanning things about them. If he hasn't seen them before, his Cyberbrain will not be able to get anything, and it will start scanning them, via through speech. It will scan info in their speech, such as them saying who they are, saying what they do, etc.
Functioning Denreishinki: Henrex’s Cyberbrain is capable of acting like a Denreishinki, alerting him where hollows are, allowing him to communicate with other Shinigami, and so he can send reports to Soul Society when he needs to. He mainly does this by installing the software normally implanted on a phone, into his Cyberbrain. He can edit the options on it via mentally, and even change the ringtone.

Leviathan Shihōin [Revamp][Approved, 4-3]
[adm]Alias
Sorry, but this isn't happening. Someone who is 75 is nowhere close to being able to be the head of a clan. Not to mention that Yoruichi is alive and well, and is the current Head of the Shihoins on PH. Please remove this, and any references to him becoming Head in the app.
Imperfect Shunko
Alright, this is something that needs to be struck out. This character will not be able to have enough power, nor enough mastery over Hakuda and Kido in order to create a Shunko. This is usually something that 0 tiers have, since they usually have both the mastery and the energy levels to do this. So, use the HTML commands to do this.
Osiris's Gift
There isn't -too- much wrong with this. However, I would like to see a note saying that higher level character will be able to get around this.
Zanpakuto(s)
Ok, I understand that you want two Zanpakuto, and that is perfectly fine. But, this is something that is usually not able to be obtained until high tier (around 0 tier). To give you examples, I'll put two characters who have more than one Zanpakuto.
Character #1: Tsubasa Unabara [Two Zanpakutos]
Character #2: Zeda Yuudeshi [Three Zanpakutos]
Also, I will put a link to the racial specs, and a quote from there.
- Spoiler:
- • Dual-Zanpakutō: To be frank, there is no such thing as wielding two different Zanpakutō spirits for the most part. Most beings get the term "Dual-Zanpakutō" mixed up with having "Two Zanpakutō Spirits". This is not the case because a Zanpakutō, for all intents and purposes, is a reflection of the Shinigami's soul. Therefore, while the aforementioned example may not be possible, it IS probable for a Shinigami's Zanpakutō to take on many different forms; albeit a majority of Multi-Wielders will not be able to access them all at the same time. Only a slim minority are able to use more than one Zanpakutō at time, and it's only restricted to two forms being utilized in a fused state.
They will not receive an increase in spiritual energy in this, only being able to be allowed to harness the attributes of their separate blade. Furthermore, they may be required to learn the different release phrases in order to call upon these Multi-Powers as they become stronger. Which makes the task of owning a Dual-Zanpakutō or Multi-Zanpakutō that much harder. However, if one is able to get over these hurdles, then it's possible for them to obtain one. It's also worth mentioning that most Multi-wielding Shinigami users will generally have their Zanpakutō SPirit, and sometimes inner-world, split into multiples for how many Zanpukato's they claim.
Race Specs
I would like you to refer to those when constructing the powers for your Zanpakutos. But, for now I would like to see the second Zanpakuto crosses out with the [strike] HTML command.
One those are fixed, this should be ready to go with a tier and will skills.
