[Spirit Class 6 | Hazard C] Kei Saionji
THE SHINIGAMI APPLICATION
I: Basic Information
» Name: Kei Saionji (犲恩治 桂)
» Alias: [Any nicknames or titles?]
» Age: 289
» Gender: Female
» Association: Gotei United; Former Kidōshū Member; Saionji Clan Member
» Appearance Written: You'd think Kei had a height complex with a 2-inch heel on top of three-inch okobo. Thankfully, she doesn't. Standing unshod at about 5'3, she's around the average height. Her Shihakushō has been modified to have shorter sleeves and to be more akin to a furisode. She also wears a large red obi over her hakama-himo. The most distinct part of her attire is her hairpin. Although not as expensive as certain other hairpieces, Kei's is a golden comb with that almost matches her Zanpakutō's tsuba in shape. She attaches two or three preserved morning glories picked from her own flower garden at the Saionji manor to finish its refined look.

II: Personality
» Personality: Kei has the pride one would expect of a high-ranking noble woman. Most would expect this to turn her into a cold, haughty bitch. It'd make her the standard holier-than-thou noble. She is far from it. There are things Kei is far above doing, and she freely admits when she is. However, she still does it anyway. Her philosophy is that her station allows her the utmost freedom within the law. Others of her class would not be caught dead playing handball or attending crass rakugo performances—and yet Kei will get just as sweaty and laugh just as loud as any other attendant.
Kei rarely uses her positions to strong-arm anyone, but she does use it to put lesser nobles in their place. Neither of the Saionji siblings can stand nobles who use their nobility for nefarious means. Selfish means? She can deal with that. But if you're running a brothel, she'll make sure that it's being ran Right. Unlike her older brother, however, she is more the type to actively call out a member of the nobility without hesitation. The first time is with tact. Any time after is not. This does not just apply to the nobility, as she also calls out her fellow equivalent-positioned members of the Gotei as well.
Kei has no attraction to the male sex. She's a hopeless romantic with a weak spot for soft lips and huge tits. She freely courts any woman she fancies—save for anyone in the Great Noble Houses. Social status doesn't matter. Race is only mildly a concern. She's the type to flirt with her superiors. Kei is not the type to pursue after being rebuffed. She despises playing hard-to-get. This does not mean she is above teasing—she just doesn't expect anything in return.
The trait that Kei admires most in people is when they "practice what they preach." Deceitful and duplicitous people are people she feels cannot be relied on. She'd praise the man who said he'd stab you over the one who stabs you in the midst of an embrace. This is why people like her brother and Byakuya Kuchiki are well-regarded in her mind.
With all of that in mind, it is important to know that Kei does have a coldness about her. She has a certain "look" that her brother will attest to. It's a far-off, yet piercing gaze. It's as if she's looking so hard through someone that her gaze has circumnavigated the globe only to look at them afterward. It is vacant of everything, yet it is almost like what it definitely does not exude emphasizes what it is meant to be. It is hatred, disappointment, and a desire for violence. It is the face of a woman who will set a poisoned cup of tea in front of her prey, tell them to drink, and if they ask if it is poisoned, she'll say yes—and still be expecting them to drink it. It is the look of a true blue-blooded noble.
» Likes: The female form, peaches, dedication
» Dislikes: Cherries, too-toned bodies, spies
III: History
» History:
- Part One:
- Kei is the second child and only daughter of Ei'Ichiro and Hanako Saionji. As the only daughter, she was kept sheltered. Her early life was mostly studying the "boring" parts of being nobility—which mostly consisted of what it meant to be noble. From early on, there was one thought going through her mind: that isn't me. Kei wasn't demure and quiet, nor did she like to pretend to be so.
The only male Kei saw on any regular basis was her older brother. Her father spent little time around her. Effectively, she saw him only on celebrations of his own accomplishments or important holidays. Most of her childhood was spent with her mother. Kei learned how to best run a noble house, but there were hiccups along the way. From an early age, she had noticed her brother would take the blame for mistakes she made. It wasn't until she was the equivalent of a 10 year old that she understood why.
Ei'Ichiro Saionji was a petty, abusive father. He did not take kindly to the slightest insult. Before, Kei's own mistakes that her brother couldn't cover for would be non-physical punishments. Kei learned how to apply makeup to cover bruises rather than to accentuate her appearance. She was still resilient, but meek. She didn't speak up against her father. Her rebellion was mostly conducted by turning down suitors or pushing away the ones that didn't take no for an answer.
Kei also could not go to her brother for assistance. J became insistent on training her in self-defense. Noble children were not kind to Kei, and her brother became protective in what Kei would say is the wrong way.
The worst incident was the night she gained the now-tattooed scar on her back. Kei had made two comments towards a suitor. One was that his name sounded like the start of a joke, the other was that his hair was thinning in a way that gave him zebra stripes. The second was actually more of fascination rather than an insult. Ei'Ichiro had to pay the suitor's family to keep the incident quiet. This infuriated him, leading to a night-time "correction."
Kei only remembers the feeling of his fingers around her neck tightening and the knife prodding at her back. There was a scream, she fell forward and was knocked out. She awoke hours later no longer in the Saionji manor, but in the Shin'ō Seiyakuin. J was sitting beside her bedside. Kei was unable to talk for about a week as her windpipe healed. J explained the situation. J had killed their father after thinking she had been murdered. He had responded to the scream and saw Ei'Ichiro standing over her unconscious body and holding the knife he used for opening letters. J was on administrative leave from the Gotei while the investigation was being held, but that did not last long. Kei's wounds and the condition she was found in gave J's story credence.
J took over as head of the family, and things began to improve. Kei was still sheltered for about two years before J's position on her pivoted. He began to try to teach her proper self-defense. She was horrible at it, but J kept pressing. Eventually, her older brother told her the reason why: he didn't want her to be defenseless again. She began to take it more seriously, but it still wasn't enough for him...
- Part Two:
- Kei joined the Shin'ō Academy mostly out of spite towards her brother. If she wasn't understanding the lessons or learning enough from him, she'd learn from actual professionals. It was about ten years after graduating she learned that this wasn't a successful spiting. Her time in the academy was only rife with excitement because of her. She used her status as a member of a noble house to great effect to keep those incidents on the down-low. This wasn't anything like her cheating on an exam or truancy. No, it was mostly just the times she would inadvertently cause conflicts by flirting with multiple students. Another was her unauthorized use of a training ground to practice after she had missed lessons on account of her being sick at the time. Oh, and the one time she and another student were caught in various stages of undress in a classroom after-hours. But again, nothing major.
Kei loved the attention she was getting—but only to the extent it helped her get her name out there. Others in her position may have used their position to skip class and whatnot. Not Kei. She was studious though promiscuous. If there was one reason she didn't slack off it was because she had to shore up her study on three of the four ZanKenSōKi teachings. Kei was built for Kidō. By the time of graduation, she was halfway to performing Eishōhaki. Before another Division decided to take her, Kei was offered a position within the Kidōshū. This was about seventy years before the organization would merge with the Fifth Division.
Kei initially thought about declining the offer. She was a Saionji. She shouldn't be hidden in some robe with only her eyes showing. However, the benefits outweighed that singular drawback and Kei joined the organization. In some ways, she regrets it—mostly out of boredom at the time. The Kidōshū did not have much to do during this point in history. Despite the turmoil of the 1930s, there wasn't much of a need for them. Kei spent time training, flirting, and studying—usually in that order.
Kei did not create any revolutionary technologies or Kidō. Instead, she focused on mastering what was already there. Kei was able to create slight modifications at first—such as a Shakkahō that traveled in a spiral rather than a straight line. By the time she became the equivalent of a 3rd Seat, Kei was altering the overall shape of Kidō. Her personal favorite was a modification of Sōkatsui that made it into a cylinder of lightning around the caster. Kei also took the opportunity to find ways for Kidō to shore up her lack of skill in other areas. Her modification of Shō to lower its power allowed her to make up for her lack of skill in Hohō (this explicitly did not affect Shunpō). Kei was on the path to further promotions and greatness...
- Part Three:
- Then Aizen happened. The chaos around the Captain's betrayal and the subsequent war with Ender led to unprecendented chaos. Threats of reorganization came up, and Kei decided that it was one stressor too many for her. Despite being in line for a promotion, she returned to her family and continued her research and training.
Kei deflected the whys by stating she just wanted to spend more time with her family and this uncertainty "frightened" her. Anyone who knew her knew it was bullshit. Kei trained and studied by experimenting with her family's manor. Even to this day, Kei doesn't know what all the Saionji Manor has active as defenses. She placed barriers, traps, and just plain old Kidō that didn't do anything just to fuck with anyone who tried to hurt the family. It was also during this time that Kei began to experiment with new Kidō. There were some gaps in the standard array that could be filled, and Kei worked on filling them.
Kei became the primary defense for the Saionji manor—though her brother certainly was the more apparent one. Kei began to train again with her Zanpakutō during this time as well. This was mostly done at the urging of her brother. This saved her life. One of the various servants attempted to assassinate Kei. She wasn't able to activate the defenses in time, but she did fend him off by slamming her sheathed Zanpakutō into the servant's vulnerable area. After that, Kei decided to take a more active approach to her training.
- Part Four:
- Training wasn't the only thing Kei decided to take a more active approach in. Kei had sat back in her proverbial chair (she was usually lounging on a chaise) reading the news for many years. She read Kidō Journals on new advancements in the field, but she also read about the various developments of the Gotei... and its subsequent revivals and reorganizations. She was concerned for many years that the organization her brother was dedicated to would no longer be standing and what would come after.
After reading about the latest re-organization—and seeing a picture of the new Captain-Commander—Kei decided to attempt to join the Gotei. However, many old files were either lost entirely due to damage or were in the organization room. This included Kei's own record of service. Kei volunteered to search, and through diligent effort (and luck, so much luck), she found her old file. After presenting it to the recruitment office, Kei was allowed to rejoin. The difficult decision was where to go.
IV: Natural Abilities
» Durability: Kei's durability is only so high because of how many times her Kidō experiments have gone awry. She's been electrocuted, exploded, set on fire, and been trapped in her own netting more than once. Even through all of that, she still gets up and goes right back to it.
» Speed: For the same reason her durability is high, so is her speed. She's above average for a graduate, but a frontline soldier still likely beats her. But that's fine. Kei's not a true fighter. Like other members of the old Kidōshū, Kei was trained that the best place for the mage is away from the frontlines. Therefore, escape was a mandatory skill to be trained for.
» Strength: Kei graduated the Shin'ō Academy. She's at the bottom end of that skill level due to her training swinging more into a Kidō focus.
» Martial Skill: Kei graduated the Shin'ō Academy. The difference in shape between her Shikai and sealed state have caused her setbacks in her training.
» Deduction: Kei's deduction is only at this level for Kidō and related topics. For any other effect, she is treated as one step lower. Because of both her innate skill and time spent studying, Kei has trained herself to identify things about Kidō that many others do not. Although she is not at the point currently of writing a thesis on a groundbreaking discovery in the field, she's well on her way to being able to see the things that would allow for that. Some of her theories on incantations have been particularly thought-provoking.
» Focus: Kei can notice small variations, especially in Kidō and other energy-based attacks. Combined with her knowledge, it allows her to accurately and quickly react to them—even though her body may not be able to keep up.
» Willpower: As mentioned above, Kei has injured herself many a time trying to perfect her own talents. She may not be able to push beyond her limits much, but her skill is that, no matter what, she'll go back to whatever she's failed at even if takes her time to regroup and reassess the situation.
V: Racial Abilities
» Kidō: Kei is something akin to a prodigy when it comes to Kidō. However, to call her a prodigy doesn't do all of the training she's done justice. As a "prominent" (this was mostly an insular prominence; as it's hard to determine Hooded Shinigami #345 from Hooded Shinigami #20 to people outside the organization) member of the Kidōshū before its merger with the 5th Division of the former Gotei 13 in the early 2000s, Kei had ample time to practice and experiment. Kei has modified and created a few Kidō, which are listed below in spoiler tags. Kei is a fan of Eishōhaki, but her unique twist on it has given her a slight edge.
- Eishōryakki: (詠唱略記; Incantation Abbreviation) Simply put, this halves the penalty to Eishōhaki by speaking half of a Kidō's Incantation. Why isn't this more common? It's because you have to know which halves to forgo and which to keep.
- Eishōten'i: (詠唱転移; Incantation Transference) Kei has been developing a way to pre-speak an Incantation or to perform an Incantation when the user is unable to speak. So far, she has not been successful.
- Modified Kidō:
Koshō: (小衝; Small Thrust) This is a lighter version of Shō that takes very little power to use. It can't push someone feet away, but it's actually useful as an alternative to Hohō for self levitation.
Daishō: (大衝; Great Thrust) Daishō is using Hadō #1, Shō, around the user's entire body to force everything around her away with the same force as Shō. Equivalent to a Level 7 Kidō.
Rasen Sōkatsui: (螺旋蒼火墜; Spiraling Blue Fire, Crash Down) Rasen Sōkatsui is an enhanced version of Sōren Sōkatsui. Instead of firing it in a line, it appears as a cylinder around the caster, almost turning it into a hybrid Hadō and Bakudō. The cylinder is about 5 feet wide and 60ft tall. It is open above and below the caster. If cast midair, its upper distance is reduced until the cylinder makes contact with a surface of at least 6 feet wide or it reaches 30ft down whichever comes first. The cylinder is open both directly above and below the caster. It lasts for approximately one round after being cast. It is equivalent to Hadō 75.
Dankūmado: (Splitting Void Window; 斷空窓) This is just a miniaturized Dankū. It appears as a growing circle rather than a rectangle and maxes out at about 1 foot in diameter. Its smaller size results in less of a covered area, but it is proportionally quicker to appear.
- Custom Kidō:
Tareginu Hari'e: (垂れ絹玻璃絵; Glass Painting Tapestry) This Kidō is a "modifier" rather than a full-on Kidō on its own. This is a recent development, and her theory on it is under the working title of "Shūshoku" (修飾; Modifier). This cannot be cast on its own. It has no effect on its own. When applied to a Barrier-style Kidō, Tareginu Hari'e produces an illusion inside the barrier. The illusion can be whatever the caster wishes, though it is rather simple. Effectively, it's projecting images onto the "faces" of the barrier. A Deduction skill of two lower than the caster's Kidō or own Deduction, whichever is higher, allows the illusion to be broken. Passing through the barrier also reveals the falsehood.
Nebaru Tsunahiki: (粘る綱引き; Adhesive Tug-of-War) This Kidō is a sticky tether made of Reiryoku. It is similar to the net used by Momo Hinamori in the Winter War (including flammability!). Applying it requires physical contact with one surface at the beginning of the incantation and a second at the calling of the name. The tether is, at most, about 50 yards long. With a command of "And now, you are one" the two surfaces are brought together with great speed. The middle of the tether is the focus point. If an end is too heavy to be moved (such as a building), the other end is still pulled to the other end. Upon being applied, it lasts for one round.
Ryūseigun:(流星群; Meteor Shower) Kei's most destructive custom Kidō, Ryūseigun is the rapid-fire of multiple cantaloupe-sized balls of Reiryoku. It's similar to Bala in this sense, and the technique can be called a reverse engineering of it—with an added twist. The Kidō is based upon Hadō #54: Haien. To put it into modern terms, it's the equivalent of loading incendiary rounds into a machine gun. Sustained fire requires Kei to be stationary, or better yet anchored. If she is not properly in place, the recoil from the amount of energy being released will send her sprawling. Kei can keep up her rapid fire for three posts. Each post of use requires twice as many posts to recover.
» Zanjutsu: Mostly thanks to her brother, Kei has undergone a lot of training with her Zanpakutō. It may require her to be closer than she would like, but her Zanpakutō is still a tool worth using. Kei's understanding and training of Zanjutsu has given her a solid foundation of a Shikai at the cost of unbalanced costs of her abilities.
» Hohō: As part of the Kidōshū, Kei was trained on how to escape bad situations. Her Hohō was never the best, but the extra training during the sixty-or-so years of peace helped shore up this weakness somewhat. She doesn't like using Hohō—she'd rather use Kidō to replicate the effects if she can.
» Hakuda: Kei graduated from Shin'ō Academy, but this was her lowest-graded subject at all times. Kei knows little more than the fundamentals of Hakuda in practice, but she does have a decent grasp of its theory.
VI: Zanpakutō
» Zanpakutō Name: Senkō Zensen (閃光前芟; Flash Before the Harvest)
» Zanpakutō Spirit:
Senkō Zensen is a Zanpakutō that enjoys a show. She never stops calling out for an encore, even after the play is long-gone. She does not usually interact directly with her owner, but instead from the empty audience in front of the stage. Senkō Zensen is quicker-witted than her master, and any challenge or criticism from Kei is instantly rebuffed. Senkō Zensen usually sits with a bored expression and only truly gets interested when Kei does. This is because Kei neglected her Zanjutsu training for so long that the spirit is jealous of her Kidō training. Senkō Zensen understands that Kei is perhaps better suited for Kidō, but it doesn't change the fact that she feels ignored. In truth, it's more that she wishes she could be a better help to her master, but their expressions of power end up being almost at cross purposes.
» Inner World: Senkō Zensen's inner world is that of a stage. The floor on the stage moves and extends as Kei moves so that she is always on the stage and never off of it. She can approach yet never reach the audience. She can never retreat from the stage. If more actors appear, the stage extends. The background scenery is printed on a repeating roll, and as the "scene" changes, the background will fade into the correct one for that scene. The scene changes depend on three things: Kei's mood, the purpose of the conversation, and how many actors are present. For example, a hot-blooded fight between Kei and a representation of Senkō Zensen might have the look of a burning forest, whereas a heart-to-heart may be that of a moonlit forest.
» Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: Senkō Zensen takes the form of a purple naginata. The handle can fold into itself to allow for easier storage.
VII: Shikai
» Shikai Release Phrase: Shine down (照付ける [てりつける]; teritsukeru)
» Shikai Release Action: Kei adjusts the grip on her polearm to have one hand near the edge of the guard. As she calls the release phrase, her other hand passes over the hilt and over the blade. When her hand finishes passing over, the blade is now a full-length katana.
» Shikai Appearance:
» Shikai Abilities:
Senkō Zensen is similar to Sogyo no Kotowari in that it converts an opponent's energy into energy blasts of its own. The difference is what kind of energy it takes in. Senkō Zensen converts kinetic energy into stored Reiryoku. This does not negate the kinetic energy coming in—Kei is still pushed around and back by incoming attacks. Each strike fills up a portion of a "gauge" Kei has.
The "gauge" is not visible on the blade, but behind Kei in a dimly-glowing ring of small lightning-like balls of energy. The balls of energy are barely present and do not have much energy on their own—simply just enough to stay visible and hold their position behind Kei. Filling the gauge is simple. Each strike she successfully parries, blocks, or just intercepts with her blade lights a single sphere. Kei currently has a maximum of 10 spheres, split into two sections of five with a mitsudomoe separating the zones. When each section is filled, a mitsudomoe lights up. As she advances the strength and understanding of her Zanpakutō, the amount of sections of five increase by 1 per level (for example, going up to Advanced would increase her to 3 sections total while Elite would be 4 sections total) to a maximum of six sections. When all sections are filled, new mitsudomoe appears at the top-center of the ring, opening like an eye.
The closer the gauge gets to full, the more unstable the blade seems to be. Purple lightning crackles around the blade at about 5 spheres and increases in size and visibility until it reaches capacity. The electricity doesn't do much damage on its own—at most it's a small zap. Absorbing past fill is also problematic, as if she goes a full five strikes over, she loses her current stacks and her Shikai releases the energy in an uncontrolled burst around her—most likely harming herself in the process.
Kei currently has three ways of expending the energy. Currently, each ability uses the entirety of the storage. As with the amount of spheres she can use, increasing her Zanjutsu skill will likely affect the consumption. Once it's been used, it has to be filled back up once again.
Senjō: (扇状; Fan-shaped) The basic version of the energy release. This takes the shape of a wide crescent about 1 foot thick at the thick end and 3 yards tall. Every 5 spheres increases this by 3 yards. This is also the fastest of the three releases, travelling at a similar speed to a Shakkahō. It has been called "a cheap knockoff" of Ichigo Kurosaki's Getsuga Tenshō—much to Kei's chagrin and repeated explanations that it's different.
Hashira: (柱; Pillar) The complicated version of the energy release. Kei stabs her sword into a surface. From any point within 150 yards around her that is connected to that surface, she can create a glowing circle that, after a short delay, sends a 10ft-to-100yd-long pillar of Reiryoku.
Sōbana: (総花; All-Around) This is Kei's most "expressive" version, and it requires 10 spheres. Simply put, this blasts the Reiryoku away from the blade in all directions (save for the Tsuba). It's a brief pulse that sends the energy in a very compacted form not very far away. This turns it more into a Reiatsu-like ability, but it is still Reiryoku doing all of the work and is affected like other Reiryoku. The ability is especially effective in areas that do not allow for much expansion, such as underwater or within a surface. Kei has used this to kill a Hollow by stabbing them with her Shikai and then effectively setting off a concussion grenade inside of their body.

Liuva [Approved, 4-3; Supernatural Human] [Hazard Rank F]
I guess I say I'm buying a basic character slot here, huh?INFORMATION DOSSIER
Basic Information
○ Name: Liuva ○ Alias': Liu, The Failure, Golden Child, Test Subject #20, Snake ○ Age: 5 Years old ○ Birthday: 25th of July, 2415. ○ Gender: Nonbinary/Feminine Pronouns ○ Race: Human (Supernatural) ○ Affiliation: Independent? ○ Alignment: Neutral Good ○ Marital Status: Single ○ Nationality: Seychelles ○ Religious Standing: N/A ○ Sexual Orientation: Pansexual ○ Height: 5'7" (With Heels) ○ Weight: 165 lbs ○ Hair Colour: Black ○ Eye Colour: Blue |
Personality
Liuva is a person with a calm sense of mind. She prefers to keep her emotions under check and doesn't like to lose her composer over simple matters, because that's what The Lab told her. But regardless of her poise nature, Liu carries herself in a carefree, devil may care temperament that makes her seem initially approachable. She likes to help other people because she thinks its the right thing, but that's only maintained by the fact that she doesn't want her Prince Charming to think she's a bad person. Liuva can and would resort to violence if provoked, if only when her coolness is tested. She doesn't like people who force their overbearing personalities and treat those weaker than them without respect.
Liu is also a very curious child, always has been, she likes to explore and learn about the things she was denied as a lab subject. She's the type to walk old ladies down the street while asking them about their entire life story and offering grown men a shoulder to cry on to sad their woes. Her innocence sometimes can be a cripple, believing that most people are good in some sort of way. Liu's ignorance, while sweet, is childish on all accounts. Despite her feminine qualities and outfit choices, she doesn't let gender norms define her and will easily slip into a Prince Charming role for someone if they needed her help.
Personality Traits:
- Debonair
- Friendly
- Perceptive
- Wishful
History
Liuva first and earliest memories were from The Lab. A place full of people in white cloaks and horrible looking machines that frightened the young girl. She didn't know why so many other blue eyed kids were crowded in a place like this, without mommies and daddies like the books talked about. The Lab was technically her home, that's what they told the other kids, but it didn't feel that way. The scientist and researchers weren't kind, and didn't treat her like the other children. They were much kinder to a specific set of two other children in particular, but she never got to meet them specifically. They were praised as the Golden Children by the scientist, where they were experimented on to be the perfect human.
In an undisclosed location, the experiments were focused entirely on the creation of a perfect human. Because of that, many of the kids in the program were considered disposable. Almost like a leaderboard, a scoring system based on both exam scores and overall fitness scores was used to determine whether a child was deemed insufficient to continue in the rather... inhumane experiment. Those who continued on would continue their dosages of medicine, an undisclosed branding of 'human alteration' medicine aimed at, as said before, perfecting your average human.
There was a clear distinction between her and the other kids, who had begun bullying the young Liuva. She was regarded as a failure due to the fact she struggled to gather reiatsu as fast as the others and physical capabilities were lacking. Being a failure was the most terrifying thing she'd ever seen happen, because that meant if she couldn't step up before the next exam, she would be disposed of. Death. Horrified about the consequences of not being up to par, Liuva took the next week to pick up her inadequate shortcomings in time. She did make it in the end, bringing her up to seventh place in the leaderboard. That earned the child the attention and scrutiny of the scientist, who upped her dosage intake as a reward.
Purely based off of the child's survival instinct, she strived to make sure she was never at the bottom again. She was still being bullied by the other children, but in exchange the lab coats gave the girl more attention. It wasn't an easy life to maintain in trying to stay up to par and steadily going up the leaderboard, but it wasn't like she had a choice if she wanted to live. Plus, it didn't help that she started having memories of a life that wasn't hers. Who was this sad looking man she saw in her dreams and nightmares? The memories themselves weren't that great, it actually made her feel distressed, but they were an enlightening release from her reality. Everything before the white haired man was rather blurry, practically painted in red before everything cleared with him.
When the doctors began to inject them with a new serum to speed up their aging process, that's when Liuva finally caught the attention of the two top children due to the fact that was the one with the best reaction to the serum. Her body aged exponentially faster than any of the other kids, but she didn't particularly like the extra attention. She stayed a bit longer in her room to avoid the stares, instead opting to daydream about the handsome white haired man from her dreams. Where they really dreams? They seemed like someone else memories that dragged her to new heights and told her things about the world she wasn't allowed to know. Seeing through someone's eyes was intriguing but, also mystified the blue eyed child. Why was she allowed to see these? Was this her past life? Liuva wanted to leave The Lab and go into this world she was shown to explore it and find out what the dreams and memories meant.
Her chance came when the natives of the land The Lab was situated on came to burn the building down for reasons she later found out was due to them stealing resources from the islanders. Despite the fact that The Lab wasn't equipped for a shootout or fights of any kind from beings that weren't the golden children, they held their ground for a few hours. Casualties of both sides were reported to the directors, until they decided the best course of action would be to send out Liuva and the other top ten children. This made Liuva feel queasy, they wanted them to kill the islanders. But she had self doubts, if she ever wanted to go out and meet the man from her dreams, would he accept a killer? Someone who killed innocent people, because they were told to? No! He would surely be a kind and charming prince who would fight for the good of the people! With this resolve in mind to not disappoint her prince, when the opportunity came, Liuvia bolted. An alarm was raised that a subject had escaped, but the raventte didn't dare stop running. For reasons she didn't know, the other children didn't stop her, instead just watching her escape.
When she made it to the shore, Liuvia jacked a boat and floated by in the sea until she came upon Somalia. She was grateful for the fact that she didn't need to eat as much as a normal person, otherwise she would have surely encountered many issues in the impromptu escape. Her goal? She wasn't sure, she liked Somalia for its culture, and the outside's mannerism fascinated her, but regardless of her carefree spirit, she still wished to find the man of her dreams. She just didn't know where to start.
Equipment
» Summanus:
- Spoiler:
For all intents and purposes Summanus is a rather normal katana that Liuva had been assigned before she escaped. She uses it as a conduit for her electric based attacks, to surge her power through it for more damage. Because she is always stimulating the blade when drawn that, unless stated otherwise, the sword has something like a taser in their application.
Natural Abilities & Skills
» Skills:
Trained Battle Sense: Due to the nature of her past and the simulations she was subjected to, Liuva has 'technically' experienced many battles. Her mind and body can enter a state of extreme focus and hypersensitivity that truly shows off her prowess as a Golden Child. Her battle sense doesn't grant her the ability to lead others, but to instead to make her a one man army that can take care of herself when she's at an unfair advantage. This really shows through with her inhuman reaction speed and pure instinct to survive that she uses to dodge and roll out of the way of danger.
Inhuman Flexibility: Though gifted with an natural flexibility, Liuva's body was also trained to be as fluid as water. She can move as though her bones were nonexistent due to the injections The Lab gave her. Due to the injections, the muscular elasticity of her joints increased as a side effect. She can make her body fit into such small places that it should be illegal to be that liquid as a human.
Enhanced Speed: Another aspect of her skills she's gained from life at The Lab. They would test her reflexive and electrical current prowess against the speed of an average car. Liuva's speed is something a normal human could never dream to achieve, Usain Bolt would weep in his grave. Her well above average speed is further noted by her reaction speed and the fluidity in her motion, that also translates to her raw speed potential as a person. When fighting, Liu uses her reiatsu to generate an electrical current that stimulates her leg muscles in order to put them in what is effectively an "overdrive" sort of state. Putting her muscles in this state have allowed to generate even quicker movement and speed, an effect of overworking and healing her muscles over the years.
Strong Willpower: As a side effect of the experiments and The Lab, Liuva has an above average willpower. This willpower allowed her to survive long enough in the institute by never letting herself fall behind, and to gather the guts to actually run away when the opportunity presented itself. Her instinct to survive is what really backs her willpower, as she refuses to just lie down and accept death without a fight. As a result of the conviction she gathered due to The Lab experiments, Liuva is steadfast in her ways. When she believes in something and holds it to a higher standard, she'll refuse to back down. No matter the circumstances, the girl simply couldn't be swayed
Other Supernatural Abilities
» Powers:
Fulgurkinesis: As the basis of all her powers, Liuva was born with the innate ability to control and manipulate electricity. While basic in theory, Liuva's control of electricity is far greater in scope than general use. As a supernatural human, the woman uses mass amounts of her reiatsu to then generate a basic level of electrical current. This electrical current can be used in a plethora of ways, many of them being listed after this ability.
Along with the practical usage of an electrical charge, Liuva can also influence the electrical current of electronics. By placing a small amount of her reiatsu generated electricity into foreign objects, the woman can manipulate and hinder the usage of everyday equipment that would be used via an electrical current or battery. In the case of batteries, Liuva can short them out and cause them to lose charge entirely. In regards to things such as televisions, cars, cellphones and your everyday modern invention, she can have similar effects. In the case of modern technology, she also generates a small amount of her electricity and creates shorts within the structural nature of said objects. By shorting them out, many of the objects people use in their day to day life can become entirely useless if she wished for it.
Aside from the powers that are listed below, Liuva's reiatsu based electrical current acts much similarly to that of a technologically based electrical current would. In it's raw form, the electrical current can create mildly severe burns when applied directly to the average person's skin. Due to the innate ability to manipulate electricity, Liuva is naturally resistant to electrical currents and their afflictions.
Galvanised Steel: At the forefront of her Fulgurkinesis would be her ability known as Galvanised Steel. Though the name is rather vague, the ability has quite a simple effect. When fighting, Liuva will send her generated electrical current through her blade, Summanus. By doing so, the electrical current generates a relatively high amount of heat along the blade's edge. Heating the blade's edge gives the blade an added effect of cauterization when using it in combat.
Being able to inflict severe and precise slashes into your average foe, Galvanised Steel allows for a multitude of effects when inflicting damage to an opponent. While slashes that land could cauterize a wound, the effect of having one's skin severely burned while also being cut into deeply is one that is rarely ever welcome. Along with that, the the heat level of the blade allows for easier cutting, making the blade far deadlier despite its already dangerous nature.
Defibrillation: Liuva can use reiatsu to control the electricity to stimulate molecules in herself, or others, to repair destroyed cells. It can also be used to act as defibrillator, that can provide energy to the body to restart the heart, or on a smaller scale, to reduce exhaustion. However, using reiatsu for these kind of situations can be tiring and would drain Liu when used.
Discharge: With gathered balls of reiatsu in her hand to create a current, Liu uses Discharge to attack either close range or from a distance. She can shoot electricity from her finger tips to zap an opponent, or to throw a supercharged punch to surge their body with an electric current. By doing so she can cause a state of paralysis in people, or cause an object to overheat.
» Pure Abilities:
Resistance: Due to the innate ability to manipulate electricity, Liuva is naturally resistant to electrical currents and their afflictions, but not immune to them. Her own powers do not harm her, instead she only feels a tingle running through her body when in use. However, there is a chance of an overload of electrical charges happening that can cause her to short circuit.
Natural Regeneration: An innate ability with the use of Fulgurkinesis. Liuva's cells have a faster than normal regeneration due to her using her powers passively when she isn't actively fighting. Normally, this just accents her accelerated healing, but if she actually focused on it, she could regrow fingers or realign her bones without extra work. To clarify, this is all outside of battle still, as she would short circuit if attempted to do so in the middle of battle.
Sacred Release
» Sacred Release Powers: With her barriers peeled back, Liuva is now able to grasp a better understanding of her limitations and what she is able to achieve.
Elektro Whip: By giving the electric current she creates with her reiatsu a more physical form, Liuva can use to replicate real objects. In this case, a whip of sorts. Extending a current from her hands, she attaches it to an enemy to bring them closer to her, or to bring herself closer to them. It is also as an extension of herself to grab objects she wouldn't normally be able to grab and hurl them around. The whip itself reaches a good five feet from her body.
Electric Force Field: By generating her own electricity, Liuva is able to create an electrical field current around herself to act as a shield of sorts. The neurons are set to repulse objects and to shock people who come too close. It can repulse and absorb spiritual attacks, almost anything that is backed by reiatsu and reishi can be absorbed, but every hit starts to deteriorate the shield. It is weaker against melee attacks and stronger against ranged attacks, because its harder for her to repulse the attack when they are close up. However, this is something of a last ditch effort and drains her reiatsu the longer it is up, thus she will not attack when protected.
Elektro Fly: By controlling the electro kinetic field around her body, Liuva is able to reject the limitations of gravity and gain flight. In doing so she can levitate in the air, fight airborne, and fly at varying speeds once she is able to take off.

I. Basic Information
» Name: Zen
» Alias: Bone Breaker Captain
» Age: ~650
» Gender: Male
» Association: Gotei, Viz (the arrancar)
» Appearance Written:
Zen stands at 6’0”. He has silver hair that reaches down to his shoulders. He has a fairly lithe build that tends to disguise his true physical strength. Even while in the Seretei he tends to wear a simple white, long sleeved, button down shirt, with semi-formal black pants, and black dress shoes. He often keeps his Zanpakutō in his right pocket for quick access. He has piercing blue eyes and a fairly calm, slightly soft voice. When he is giving orders his voice deepens and becomes commanding. When he gets angry, his eyes iris’ turn from blue, to deep red.
» Appearance Image: [Put an image of your character here if you have one]
I. Personality
» Personality:
Zen is one of the calmest people you will find. Very few things, if anything no one has been successful yet, cause him to lose his cool. There is a rumor that when he loses his cool he might become as violent and unpredictable as a Kenpachi.
He enjoys keeping order and following the law to the best of his ability. He seeks to bring arguments to a quick and calm resolution, but he is willing to use force to restore order, starting with non-lethal, and using lethal force only when necessary, something his Zanpakutō allows him to do effectively.
He has enjoyed music since before his death. Spending so much time on Earth since the 1900’s his enjoyment of music has only increased. He can often be found in his music store selling instruments, old music formats, teaching classes, and sometimes preforming concerts for charities.
While he enjoys things to be orderly and lawful, he also enjoys seeing chaos ensue in certain situations. He knows that it is a part of nature, and only steps in to calm the satiation when it is getting out of hand.
Zen has another side to him, one that few see and live to tell the tale. Beneath the calm, relaxed façade hides a monster. While few things get under his skin, those that do, drive him mad. The switch on a much more sadistic side, a more authoritarian side. When he is in this state, though he is not in a blind rage, his attacks are much more forceful, his words commanding, he will do whatever it takes to have his target follow orders. His irises turn a crimson red when he is in this state.
Likes: Most music though he prefers classical. Sweets. Order. Deep down inside he likes to watch chaos unfold as he stays cool, calm and collected.
Dislikes: Metal music. Unregulated chaos.
I. History
» History: Zen was born in Paris, France a 24 years before the French Revolution to a wealthy aristocratic family to the name Roy Delacroix. Throughout his early years he had a great affinity towards everything that had to do with music and his parents greatly agreed to further his studies into the musical arts. At the age of 17 he was greatly known throughout Paris as a music prodigy and he became a man that everyone looked up to and many women wanted to marry. His parents arranged many women to date him hoping that he would propose to one but he never did. While he had great interests in them, he never felt the need to carry on the family line.
One day when he was tending to the rose garden in his own home, he discovered a man in the middle of the rosy briars. The man didn’t know how to speak, or do much of anything. He was quite tall and had red hair, the same color as a rose. The man seemed to learn how to do things quite quickly for someone who seemed to have been born recently. He decided to name the man Pierre d’laRose. Pierre was a fairly common French name, and D’laRose meant “from the rose”, quite appropriate from where he seemed to have been born out of. They spent quite a few years together, but fate had other plans.
The French Revolution had reached its peak, and the heads of the bourgeoisie must roll! While loved by many it was time for his death. While many were dragged to their deaths at the guillotine, Roy had accepted his fate years ago, back when the revolution started, he walked calmly and with purpose to la demi-lune. Many had attended his beheading, not in the traditional sense to be joyful at his death, but to solemnly mourn what was going to happen. Very few were allowed to speak much before their death, and even of those Roy’s words were different. “I stand here today to face the cards fate has dealt for me my friends! While today you may mourn the loss of a friend, a composer, a fellow Frenchman that while has not lived through your struggles understands your rage and why you must do this please do not mourn for long! I know that victory will soon be at your door, and that France will become the country you want it to be! One where everyone has the chance to live as freely as they desire and were the upper class doesn’t oppress the rest! If I have to sacrifice my life for the good of the country I gladly accept my fate! Au revoir mes amis, ma musique peuvent remplir vos cœurs jusqu'à la fin des temps.
Not long after his death he ended up where many spirits do, Rukongai. It was so alien to him. He remembered his entire life, here it was very different from what life was in France, regardless of what class he was there. Even here he was fairly well off being in a Fifth district. He was fairly well known for being calm and fair. People always felt at ease when he was around, many of the more elderly residents claiming that his soul was as pure as freshly fallen snow.
While he did have a calming aura due to his personality, his spiritual aura was slightly more dangerous. He had so much energy within his own soul that his spirit pressure did cause issues for those that were too close to Zen. This caused him to live more or less alone. While he did have friends, they needed to keep their distance physically or else they might get hurt. For someone that remembered being alive trying to grasp the concept of controlling this energy was foreign to him. It wasn’t uncommon for people around him to become stunned or feel pain when he wasn’t paying close attention to it. This obviously drew some complaints to those that did not know he had this issue, and on several occasions the authorities were called. While it wouldn’t have taken too long for his power to have been brought to the attention of Shinigami, scared residents running away when they see him and some getting hurt just expedited the process.
Being told that he should apply to the Shino Academy several times during these, he thought it would be worth at least a try. He didn’t know what to expect for the entrance exam, he didn’t know much beyond controlling his own reiatsu to a limited degree, if they asked for anything else he would likely fail. The test was not difficult at all. It just consisted of proving he had an appropriate level of reiatsu and that he could control it. He passed with fairly high marks. While he did have quite a high level of reiatsu; so much that once he let go of his concentration, he stunned some of the Shinigami administering the test. He apologized to no end for this, he didn’t mean to do it, but it was alright, they told him that the fact that he could hold back some of that energy being dead for only a few years was quite amazing. He held a lot of potential inside of his body, and that being in the academy would greatly improve his abilities.
He had a very strong connection with his Zanpakutō spirit. He could go into the inner world and spend time with it, but the spirit never said a word. It’s not like he wasn’t able to. He could communicate with Zen, he just wasn’t talking to him. Their relationship was similar to a teacher and student. His spirit taught him how to do things without speaking, using gestures and music to communicate with Zen. It took a while to understand it, but Zen got it. It still frustrated that it wouldn’t speak back! He wanted to understand why he coudlnt control his sword, but every time he asked his spirit just motioned to Zen “It’s a secret” or “Soon” but that didn’t mean anything to Zen, it wasn’t an answer. This frustrated him to no end. He needed to go out and get some fresh air sometimes.
Often he went out to the calm forests to try and get his sword strikes in order. One day he came across a beautiful lake. The waters were calm and reflected light almost as if it was a mirror on the ground. What he found even more interesting is that sounds that happened around it were amplified and there was minimal interference. It was as if the lake was a giant amplifier. He was so interested in it that he decided to go to the center of the lake and try it out himself, essentially forgetting that he was here to practice. He had no instruments to test out the lake with, but every musician knows they always have an instrument on them, their voices. While not the best singer Zen wasn’t horrible. He closed his eyes and started to sing.
What he heard was amazing. The surrounding area filled with his voice. It resonated and reflected inside the lake, amplifying it and filling miles around with his voice. This place was perfect. He felt so serene. Suddenly he felt his own reishi spike. In front of him stood a man wearing a pure white suit with a red tie. Zen instantly knew who this was. It was the spirit of his Zanpakutō. They had met before in his inner world, but the man never spoke. At the time it was mildly understandable, but as it kept going on it was frustrating. Finally, the man spoke “It seems you found your own voice.” The spirit said. Zen was confused about it, find his own voice, what did that mean. “You came here to train your sword skills. But you left that behind and found something you were good at. Something we are both good at.” Zen felt the need to pull out his Zanpakutō and hold it in front of his spirit. They both held it, and Zen finally learned his Zanpakutō’s name. He nodded at Aurora and said “Command! Aurora!”
The area was filled with a brilliant blue light, his spirit pressure pushing the water away from where he was standing. In his hands, instead of a sword, was a medium length conductor’s baton. It was simple. Dark blue with some silver bands along the bottom, middle and tip. He was surprised at what he was holding. Now it made sense why he was so bad at Zanjutsu! He wasn’t going to need it! Though his spike in pressure did set of some alarms, so he was surrounded by 4 Shinigami who promptly took him back to the Academy.
After a few days his Zanpakutō hadn’t changed back to its sword form. This meant it was one of the few constant release zones. This usually meant that the owner had great spiritual power, but at the same time it could also mean that they couldn’t control it, shown by the inability to revert it back to a lower power state. Regardless of that fact, he still released his Shikai, putting him far ahead of what other students could do.
Zen as stationed in squad 13, having graduated from the academy fairly soon after unlocking his shikai. He was stationed in different locations of the human world, rotating between cities that were having hollow problems, as with his shikai he could quickly dispatch of any low level problems. Though he did find it strange that no matter where he went there were a significantly higher quantity of hollows, and they were getting stronger. He also noticed that Shinigami stationed in the human world were also going missing as of late, which was even stranger. Those in the squad were strong enough to take care of the regular hollows that came to Earth and there were not reports of anything too strong, so them dying in combat would be highly unlikely. He wanted to ask his captain about this but he was always out on missions and could not be reached via other means of communication.
One day the captain asked several members, to go meet him out in a cave, which was a fair distance from the Seretei and populated areas of the Rukongai. The closer they got to the cave Zen felt the presence of hollows. A large number of them, but he couldn’t pinpoint any of them. It got stronger and stronger as they went into the cave, where they saw the captain standing infront of an open Garganta.
Everyone was surprised at the sight, but before any of them hollows jumped out of the portal and took them by surprise. That had all been attacked by one, with the exception of Zen, who blasted one with sound, causing it to disintegrate in the air. The rest of the group was dead, the hollows eating their bodies, consuming their energy. The captain had a sullen look on his face, saying to Zen that he broke orders by not feeding the hollows. Failing to follow the direct commands of a captain is insubordination and he had to be punished for it. The hollows that had come from the Garganta ran over to the captain as they began to melt and the dark energy they released covered the captain’s body. An insane laugh filled the cave as the captains body was distorted and mutated. He no longer was a Shinigami. Before Zen stood a giant hollow. Its giant bony mask like face staring down at him, its mouth dripping with hunger. Zen’s instinctive nature was to flash step away, if he had to fight it was not going to be inside of this cave.
The moment Zen was outside he took out his Zanpakutō and sent out a sonic message to the Seretei, asking for assistance as he had encountered a very strong hollow. It was going to take time for help to arrive, he had to fight it alone for the moment. He did recognize the area he was in, the lake with good acoustics was near here. The hollow followed him, firing cero and bala as he did, but zen was fast enough to doge out of the way as he made it to the lake he was looking for. One he got to the lake the former captain talked to him in a voice filled with madness. He asked Zen what he thought he was going to do, he wasn’t strong enough to win. He offered him a choice. He could join him as a hollow, or die due to his insubordination, he was still his captain, he had to follow orders, and Zen had to follow orders.
Zen was indeed conflicted about having to follow orders, but he was not obligated to follow someone’s specific orders. A buzzing sound filled the air, it was the sound of static noise. Zen’s reiatsu started to show, it was sky blue, and looked like the visual representation of the noise, static. The color started to change though. The blue was starting to darken, turning redder and redder, until it was a brilliant crimson color. The static noise was amplified by the lake bellow, now it could be heard for miles around, and the hollow grabbed its head as the volume was unbearable and pain inducing. Zen chuckled as he opened his eyes slightly, his irises the same crimson color as his aura. He told the captain that he wasn’t going to follow his orders. He no longer was his captain, and that Zen was the one that was going to dictate what was going to happen from now on between them.
Zen heard Tenmei’s voice telling him to call out his real name. It was the time to unleash his real power and bring order to those that dare defy him, those that would dictate their own laws and orders above his own. Zen smirked as he whispered “Bankai.” At that moment the static ended as the crimson energy covered Zen’s body. His spiritual pressure went over the roof, this was at the same time that members from squad 11 reached the area, they stopped right at the clearing as they were stricken with fear. The hollow was also stricken with fear as that is what Zen’s pressure commanded. Zen didn’t look any different, but his Zanpakutō was now heavily ornate.
Zen flash stepped directly in front of the hollow and released a flurry of blows at him. Zen was not skilled in zanjutsu, but he was exceptionally good at hakuda. He tore into the hollows body, blood spraying all over his body, his hands covered in it. He gave an upper cut sending the hollow flying into the sky. As he did his Zanpakutō was covered in his red reiatsu, it solidified into a short, but sharp, blade. He quickly reached the hollow and started to tear into him again, this time his hakuda translating into his short sword, slashing and goring the hollow. Its body parts falling down onto the lake, staining it red with its blood. At the end of this assault there was nothing left of the hollow except its head. It fell to the ground. Zen landed next to it as he glared down at it and pointed his Zanpakutō at it. He said to it “Insubordination” before blasting it with sound, causing the mask to shatter.
The squad around him had seen the entire battle, if one could call it that. The captain of the 11th squad was also present and approached Zen. He took Zen to the captain commander and explained what he had seen Zen do. At this point Zen had calmed down, his eyes no longer red, his aura calm. The captain commander asked to be left alone with Zen. He asked him to explain wat had happened, and Zen explained everything that he had seen. The murder of his squad members and the hollowfication of the captain. The commander looked at Zen and asked him to never reveal the hollowfication incident to anyone. Zen agreed to that order. After the meeting he was placed as the Captain of the squad 13, as there were few members left and he was deemed the most capable of doing the job.
His stay as captain wasn’t long, only lasting a few years. It’s not that he didn’t like the job, but he just didn’t want to continue in his position. He wanted to relax and live a normal life. Though he still wanted to keep the world safe. He went to the commander and asked if he could go live in the human world. He explained how he felt and that he was still willing to help the Gotei when needed. This came as a surprise as no one had asked for this type of request before. At first the commander was reluctant to allow him to live in the human world, but a deal was struck, he would live in the human world for one normal human lifetime, and return to the seretei for 50 years, to ensure that his identity would not be revealed to humans.
While in the human world one day he found something interesting. In the dusk hours he saw something glowing in an alley way. He took a look inside to find a large crystal rosebud that radiated a large amount of spirit energy. He got closer to see that someone, or something was inside of it. It seemed to be a small man, but upon closer inspection it was an arrancar. An arrancar in the city? Sleeping? That was odd. Though he did get a sense of familiarity. It had been so long. He got close and used his own spirit pressure to melt away the crystal structure. As it melted the man inside woke up. His first instinct was to cower in the spot he was in. After a few moment the man started to cry and ran up and hugged Zen. The arrancar cried into him and said he was happy that Zen-san had found him. That’s a name he hadn’t heard in a long time. Few people had ever called him that. Zen looked down and tiled the Arrancar face to look at him. Past the tears and the pieces of broken mask, the face was familiar. He recognized him, it was Viz. Viz used to be a Shinigami, but had decided to side with Aizen many years ago. Viz told his story, to how Aizen had taken advantage and turned him into an Arrancar, how he escaped and waited there for someone to find him.
Zen didn’t know what to do. Viz was an arrancar, but he didn’t seem like he was evil. He was scared and just wanted to be safe. With a sigh he decided to help Viz by letting live him in his house. Slowly word did get out that Viz was there, and that he was an arrancar. At first it was quite troublesome as people were assholes and didn’t understand, but as time went on Zen helped Viz and others understand the situation, so that Viz could be safe.
Centuries passed in the human world and as humans became more spiritually aware and events passed Zen did not need to hide any longer. He did not need to fake his identity and split his time between the human world and the gotei. He now had the life that he wanted, to live in the human world and still work for the seretei, his own rules. Eventually the Gotei restructured itself, and as such they were looking for people who were capable enough to become captains of now much larger branches of the organization.

I. Sealed Powers
» Zanpakutô Name: Tenmei
» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Tenmei is a man dressed in a completely white suit with a red tie. He stands at a height similar to Zen’s with short brown hair and red eyes. For the first few meetings he was completely silent. When Zen awakened his Shikai he heard Tenmei’s voice, which was deep and commanding.
Tenmei is also known for manifesting himself more often than other Zanpakutō spirits (more detail in the Shikai section).
» Inner World: Their inner worlds is an empty gold stage surrounded by darkness. A spotlight shines on them when they are in it.
» Zanpakutô Appearance: Currently none. It is a constant release Zanpakutō, it lost its sword form when Zen first released it. (Current apperence in Shikai section)
» Sealed Zanpakutô Power: None as it is a constant release type Zanpakuto.
I. Shikai
» Shikai Release Phrase: Command! Aurora! (Meijiru! Tenmei!)
» Shikai Appearance: After saying his release phrase his sword completely disappears and the hilt of his sword transforms into a conductors baton. The baton is a deep blue color, almost black. It measures 15 inches in length
» Shikai Abilities:
Manifestation: Tenmei can willingly manifest himself outside of the inner world. While all Zanpakutō spirits have this ability, he does it relatively frequently in comparison. He often comes out when he pleases, depending on the situation. Sometimes he just wants to be outside, sometimes he wants to keep Zen company, sometimes he wants to chime in on a conversation in an external manner, and in dire situations when Zen can’t act for himself.
When in battle Tenmei has the same abilities detailed in this and the Bankai section, and always acts as if he was in Bankai, regardless of whether if Zen has activated it in battle or not. Tenmei will only be in battles if Zen has gotten to a state where he cannot fight but is not unconscious. An example of it would be when Zen was in a fight with Hisao, and he could not move without having dealing damage to himself, essentially being paralyzed, but in that case, Zen asked for the help, before it was provided.
Tenmei can only provide assistance ONCE per thread. The duration of this cannot exceed 5 posts, but if he sustains a large amount of damage, or if he willingly returns to the Zanpakutō, he cannot participate in the battle again. This also counts if he is outside of the Zanpakutō before a battle starts in a thread.
While Tenmei is outside, Zen’s Zanpakutō abilities’ power are cut by 3/4 and he cannot access Bankai. The only exception to this is the Arpeggio ability. The cost of merged kido goes up 4x.
Order: Zen’s Zanpakutō focuses on maintaining order, and more importantly the order Zen wants others to follow. This has manifested itself in the way of music, no matter how disorganized a piece of music sounds there are underlying rules that allow the music to be played. He uses some of those rules as his abilities to maintain order as the conductor of the battle field.
Sound Manipulation: Zen can create sounds around him and fights with sound. The manipulation can work in various ways. He can create normal sounds within the area that his Illuminacion affects, that is these sounds don’t have any effect that normal sound wouldn’t have. They can range from a pin dropping to that of an entire orchestra playing. In a similar way he can manipulate already existing sounds. For example, he could make someone voice sound different after their words leave their mouth, even going as far as making their words make no sound at all. Creating and manipulating sounds in this way does not require much, if any energy on his part.
One step above is taking sounds and making them dangerous in a non “supernatural” way This means he can take sounds and make them dangerous based on their normal properties, such as volume, frequency, direction, speed, and pressure. By affecting volume, he can take even the quiet drop of a pin and turn it into an ear-splitting sound. Changing its frequency Zen can turn a dangerous high-volume sound into something that is inaudible, thus causing the effects of his non-visible sounds to seem to come from nowhere. This means that he can create infra and ultrasound. While infrasound is relatively harmless, the ultrasonic vibrations can be used to create vicious vibrations that can make even the sturdiest materials crumble, though it might take some time if it was made by a very good crafter (This is further explained in Timbre). An effect that this ultrasound can do is cavitation, which is voids that quickly pressurize causing extreme pressure and heat, resulting in a shockwave. This does not happen unless he uses ultrasound for a long period of time, and it can occur randomly. When changing direction Zen can move the sound in his area of influence, changing its trajectory. When this happens the sound forms into a semi visible stream, as the forced air distorts and bends light slightly. Changing the speed that which the sound travels, by itself doesn’t do much besides slowing down or speeding up the sound wave, but when combined with pressure is when things get different. When Zen changes the pressure at which the sound travels this increases the force that it has, essentially making sound a powerful force. When changing the pressure and speed of sound Zen can create wind, ranging from a gentle breeze to powerful gales. While not too complicated or taxing, using these abilities, such as creating a sustained gale, can slowly drain his energy.
Things start to get more draining when Zen creates his own waves to fight with. While he can control waves inside of his Illuminacion, when it comes to creating his own attack sounds he is limited to an area of 100 feet around his body. The waves can be pointed in any direction, but they are limited to 4 types: sphere, line, cone, and blade. They each have their own properties. Sphere creates an orb of sound around Zen. This orb can range in size from 10 feet in diameter, to 100 feet. A line burst can reach up to 250 feet away but can only be up to 10 feet wide. A cone can travel 100 feet and progressive gets larger as it travels, reaching a maximum of 50 feet wide. Blades are compressed waves of sound that Zen can control throughout his Illuminacion. Cone and sphere waves become weaker the more that they travel, only being 1/4 of their original strength when at their maximum reach. Line waves don’t lose their strength, but they can only be fired in one direction, and after being fired Zen cannot change its direction. Blades do not lose their strength, but Zen must concentrate on controlling them to keep moving them.
He does not need to be entirely focused to use this ability, but the more complex actions he takes the less he can concentrate on abilities that require concentration, such as Arpeggio.
Tempo Strike: With his sword gone Zen has focused on Hakuda, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t use his Zanpakutō as a dagger. By covering it in air and spirit energy he creates a very sharp blade. He basis his skill with this weapon off his Hakuda skill instead of Zanjutsu.
Iluminacion: This ability spreads out 500 feet around Zen. He can create touchable, semi-solid illusions. They are mostly used for Zen’s performances, but it can be used in battle to disorient opponents. An example would be him creating a wall, that feels like a wall, but when you apply any sort of extra pressure one would go through it.
This ability is mainly passive. The sphere of influence does not carry any constraints to maintain as, in essence, is just an area of effect. He can maintain only one or two illusions at a time. The size of one illusion cannot surpass 100 feet, total. That is he could make a 50 foot, by 50 foot wall (this has an area greater than 100 feet, but in this case what matter is distance over substance). He can combine illusions to make a larger one, but there will be a small, visible, gap between them. When someone, or something passes through and breaks the illusion it cannot be used for 2 posts. If they break just one Zen would only be able to use one illusion. An illusion cannot be changed during the same post, if Zen wishes to change it, he has to wait until he is in a new post to do so.
Illusions do not have to be singular objects. He could create hundreds or thousands of a single object if it is small enough. He could create 100 6 by 6 inch butterflies and have them fly around the area of effect.
Bianca: Condenses reiatsu in front of Zen to create a white shield in front of him that absorbs the next attack so that it deals only half of its damage. If Zen is much stronger than his opponent, it can negate the attack.
The shield is composed of standing wave. This wave arises when he opposes the resonance of his own spirit pressure with a sound wave. The wave is completely stationary, creating a strong, stable shield. When compared to Bakudo this would be in the range of #30. An attack that surpasses that level of strength passes through the barrier at half strength. If the attack surpasses #60 it bypasses the shield completely.
This ability can only be used every 4 posts. While it does not consume much internal energy, it does decrease his spirit pressure. After 4 posts his spirit pressure returns to his usual level.
Bemol: Zen fires a small orb of concentrated spirit energy that, if it hits its intended target they are shrouded by Zen’s spirit pressure. Due to this strong oppressive force it has similar effects to being in very close proximity to Zen. While its main purpose is to decrease the power of Kido by 5 numbers (thus turning a #20 to a #15, an essentially making anything less than #5 not work), it can cause effects such as fear, paralysis, stunning and pain. Since he still controls this pressure, he can attempt to make opponents feel these effects at will. The effects of this attack are dependent on the spirit pressure of the opponent. If they have a pressure greater than Zen’s the effects are much weaker, if it even works at all. If it works, it lasts for 2 posts. A target affected by this has a “b” hovering over their head.
This takes 5% of his internal energy to use. While it may not be a lot, due to his large internal reservoir, to some this amount of energy could be overwhelming. He can use this ability 2 posts after the effect ends, or 2 posts if he misses.
Sharp: Similar to Bemol, but it works in the opposite manner. In this case the energy that he sends out adds to the target’s own energy pool, strengthening their kido by 5, and increasing their spirit pressure for 2 posts. Other than that, it works the same as Bemol. A target affected by this has “#” over their head. He cannot use it on himself.
Staccato: Zen forms small orbs of spirit energy and sound at the tip of his baton and fires them in rapid succession. The rate of fire is 300 RPS (18,000 RPM) but the orbs do almost negligible damage on their own, but they have decent knockback if the target is hit constantly by them. This ability does not take much concentration to hold for a long period of time, for a maximum of 2 posts. He can use other abilities while he maintains this ability going. After he uses this continuously it has a cool down period of 1 post.
Tenuto: Zen creates slow moving bars of sound energy that home in on a target. While slow when they come into contact they create a deafening boom that causes moderate amounts of damage. If they do not hit something after 2 posts they will explode wherever they are.
Timbre: This gives Zen an acute sense of hearing, which allows him to be able to hear things from miles away, if he focuses on it. With even greater focus he could identify the resonance of objects.
An objects resonance depends on the material it is made from. When an object is exposed to a wave that has the same resonance it begins to sake violently and eventually break, shatter, or fall apart. The simplest example of this is when an opera singer hits the right pitch and shatters a glass. Objects of poor quality break much easier than those of higher quality. The better quality the object is the longer it takes for it to break, in some cases it could even be impossible to break them. Objects do not need to be exposed continuously to the sound wave to break, as each time they are exposed they take some damage. When the object breaks is subjective to its quality. An example would be that it would take less than one post for Zen to shatter a tree, a low-quality sword would take about the same time, while a Zanpakutō could take from 10 to 30 posts of constant exposure to break. Bankai cannot be broken using this ability.
Arpeggio: It allows Zen to use more than one Kido at the same time often causing them to combine into a kido that has the properties of the two or three kido used at the time. The incantation of the kido is spliced together to make a new incantation. Splicing kidos in this way require twice, or three times as long for it to be cast, leaving him open while he casts it. This also averages their level. If he wanted to combine #1 with #50, the resulting kido would be equal in strength to #25.
When combining them he cannot combine kido outside of their own class, he cannot combine Hadō with bakudo, though he can combine bakudo with healing kido if they have an area effect. He can attempt to combine kido that oppose each other, such as fire and water, but this has a high chance of failure. If he can combine them the kido created creates something new, such as mixing fire and water kido to make steam kido. Doing this takes concentration, the more kido he tries to combine, the more focus he has to have. He has been able to combine as much as 4 kido at one time. Combining Hadō is more complicated due to their more unpredictable nature. Bakudo are easier to combine as they are very structured and orderly.
Using this ability to splice two kido comes at an extra cost. When splicing 3 kido the number increases by 5 in cost, when splicing 4 it takes 10 more. When putting the kido together the energy goes up respectively depending of the average that is created. The energy needed to create the kido is 2x, 3x, or 4x the average cost. If he were to merge Hadō #10 and #20 it would cost 2x what #15 would be, but the strength would be equivalent to #15. If he were to combine #30, #40, #10, and #20 it would have the average power of #25, to that you add 10, so it becomes a #35, and then it becomes 35x4= 140. As the last example shows, the more kido are used the more diminishing returns you get, due to having a very high cost, but if the kido used include very low numbers the resulting kido would be fairly weak compared to the energy put into it.
Fermata: Using a combination of reiatsu and sound Zen creates a loud blast around him. Most projectiles that are in within 5 feet of Zen stop moving for 1 post. This effect follows him. If he moves from the position the projectiles will move once more, and any projectile he tries to send out are also stopped, meaning he cannot use projectile attacks for one post.
This blast actually indicates that he has essentially frozen his spirit pressure closest to his body. This ability locks him into place for the post, not being able to move via conventional means. The only way for him to exit this area is to flash step out of it, but doing so could cause him to take some damage from the projectiles. It has a cooldown of 1 post.
This ability is based off his Kido skill level. Those above his level, or its equivalent for other races, have no trouble bypassing this barrier.
I. Bankai
» Bankai Release Phrase: Obey! Shining Aurora!
» Bankai Appearance: Regardless of what he was wearing before his outfit changes into a white suit with a red tie, much like what Tenmei wears. His conducturs baton turns a deep red and his aura color changes to red.
» Bankai Abilities:
Concerto: Zen can now use his sound attacks from an origin point that is not him. He can create attacks that originate from an area within his Illuminacion range (500 feet). They still travel in the same shapes, but those that have a cone or line shape can be positioned at different angles.
Sound Cannon: Zen can capture non-physical attacks and fire them back. He does this by creating a circular wall of reiatsu and compressed air in front of him. This stops the attack and then Zen can release it forward. He can do this to absorb several attacks, but it has some drawbacks. While he does this he becomes immobile, as he has to lock himself in place to absorb he knockback from attacks as they suddenly stop. While there is no limit on how many attacks he can stop, the more attacks that he stops increase the load, eventually attacks can overload his ability to stop them, causing them to release their energy wildly around the area, hurting Zen and firing the energy randomly.
Crescendo: A cone shaped blast of reiatsu that empowers kido, and other reiatsu based attacks that travel in this area. This area is a 50 foot cone. Any spirit based attack that enters it is empowered by 1/3.
Diminuendo: Works in a similar way to Crescendo. This time he uses his spirit pressure to degrade kido that are targeting him. It travels in a cone shaped wave that reached out to 50 feet. Due to this shift in pressure, while this ability is used his back is exposed to attacks as his defenses are focused on his front. Strength of those attacks is reduced by 1/2.
This only affects attacks that are below his own Kido skill. Those at and above his skill are affected minimally, but are still affected by it to a small degree.
Simile: Zen can attempt to copy kido used by others to negate them. This mainly works for kido that he has already learned, that is he cannot cancel a kido that he hasn’t seen before. If he wants to cancel it, he must take some time to learn a bit about it. If he sees a new kido it takes 3 posts to be able to copy it, and 6 posts to be able to cancel it. This only works for kido that are open to everyone. It does not work for kido made specifically, or only known by one or a few select characters.
Marcato: V shaped projectiles composed of reiatsu and sound fly out and travel at a high speed and on contact creates 10 foot wide explosions. This is similar to Staccato. Its fire rate is much slower at 10RPS (60 RPM). The projectiles hae the strength of bullets, but their 10 foot explosions do not cause much damage, they essentially just create large knockback.
Silencio: Sound based attacks have a reduced effect on Zen. The strength of these attacks is reduced by 1/3.
Fortissimo: If Zen makes an attacks and yells fortissimo the effectiveness of the attack raises by 2x. This makes him give out a burst of energy, leaving him tired for 1 post after using this ability. Doing this makes the Kido cost 2.5x its original cost.

Hate & Memories [OPEN]
Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: 1206
Hisao won't fall from the same trick again, not this time. If he could not find his presence through sound, then it will through air particles that is pushed out of his way in order to move. Knowing that fact, Hisao is not the type that's as fast as Henrex either and before the strike came down, instead of charging the electromagnetic blast, one of his Nasods would fire a weak, incomplete pulse instead. Like a shockwave of energy, it would forcefully push Henrex's Zanpakutō off by a few inches away while managed to cut right across Hisao's back. He didn't have enough time to charge a powerful blast to decimate him, so he had to abandon the process and proceed to fire off a shockwave instead.
It hurts. Even pushing away the Zanpakutō by a few inches and preventing Henrex from inflicting the damage that he desired to, it still connected, causing a wound that was a few inches across his back with its flesh that has not yet penetrated deep enough to inflict any serious wound. However, his clothes would be damaged from the back, with his own blood leaving a stain on his white hoodie.
"Kuahahaha! Now you've done it, brat! I will make sure that your death will be painless!"
His Nasods would be positioned in a circular formation right in front of him and without wasting his time, they would start to spin around in front of Hisao. Accelerating faster and faster every second, cracks of electricity can be visibly seen in the center of the formation, an orb of electricity forming in the center. By compressing and concentrating all the electrical energy within a single point, it would both save him time and energy to prepare individual blasts from each Nasod. And quickly enough, the orb would be launched into a form of a blast. A blast that would be twice as powerful as a cero and a range wide enough to cover 100 meters wide in front of him. The building that he is standing on would be blown into nothing more but its individual atoms left floating on the air, without dusts to prove its existence. If Henrex was caught in the blast, not even he would leave the battlefield with just normal injuries.
Because of his carelessness of taking that attack, Hisao wasn't going to let it slide this time. Iron sand would appear out of nowhere, volumes of iron sand would pour out to the point where it would have an equal volume to that of Hisao's body. The unique power of his cyberbrain, and that is constructing something out of nothing just by using 'data' like a computer would create a file. Its name would be Data Construction, a phenomena that only Hisao himself can explain after years of knowledge and confinement.
Using his electromagnetism manipulation, he spares no time to surround himself with the iron sand like a vortex just a few meters away from himself. But this time, he isn't going to do it on how he has used it against his captain. Since iron is a great electricity conductor, he has an idea. Two of his fingers would extend outward towards the iron sand surrounding him, and with a whisper of Hadō, concentrated bursts of electricity would fire right out of his hand, up to six of them, all of them crashing right into the iron sand created by himself. If you don't understand? This kido of his is a mimic of Hadō #4, Byakurai. Changing the methods of using spiritual energy and how it was structured, he could effectively increase its concentration, power equivalent to Hadō #20 as well as splitting it up to six of them.
At this point, his Nasods would have been recovered around him as well. Protecting himself by using all six of his Nasods to produce a weak electromagnetic field by surrounding each corner around Hisao. Now, the main event begins. Now with the vortex of iron sand, induced with a large voltage of electricity. In this moment, it is to prevent Henrex from getting near him. As long as he doesn't have the physical strength or energy to cut through it, getting close to it or slicing it would shock Henrex that could ultimately burn his hand.
Although, only for awhile, with a wave of his fingers, the electrically-induced iron sand would be manipulated, as if it were water and wherever Henrex currently may be, he would throw the iron sand right at him. Blocking it would be a bad idea, since if it crashed right into his body or sword, not only his flesh would be ripped to pieces by the violent, swirling iron sand like a drill but he would be met together with electricity shocking across his body and would slide right into his open wounds to temporarily cause his muscle to spasm. If he dodged, as long as he is not further than 500 meters, Hisao would redirect the movement of the iron sand to where Henrex may move to, chasing him relentlessly like a manually-controlled homing missile until he is caught.
He won't let this game of life and death be so boring though. While the iron sands continue to chase down Henrex within the range of 500 meters, with his other hand free, he would strategically place 2 Nasods, one on the north and the south. He would begin chanting, as if he was preparing something. It is not kido but something that Hisao has come up with to make sure Henrex would have the time of his life. It might take awhile to prepare but it wouldn't be fun if he is so impatient.
"Earth. I command you to heed to my words as I will bring down the first law of this world."
Now, what will this be?
